We visited Deux Bistro on a busy Saturday night, and I was impressed by how attentive the service was despite the crowd. The selection of French wines caters to various budgets, which is a nice touch. We chose a Chablis for $75. Although I’m not a fan of restaurants charging extra for bread, the quality of the food and service made it worthwhile. We started with the crab Louie salad, which was drizzled with a delightful champagne vinaigrette—really tasty! For my main course, I went with the steak frites, opting for both the peppercorn and béarnaise sauces since I couldn't choose just one. My husband had the salmon but admitted he regretted not ordering the steak after trying mine—it was that good! They also have some nightly specials, although I wasn’t in the mood for swordfish; it looked fantastic on other tables, though. We were too full for dessert this time, but we’ll definitely save room for it on our next visit! Parking was easy with ample street metered options until 8 PM, plus a nearby parking garage, though there’s no valet service. Overall, Deux Bistro is a hidden gem in the Woodland Hills/Calabasas area. I recommend making a reservation as it gets quite busy, but they do welcome walk-ins too. We can’t wait to come back!
Our first time eating at this casual French brasserie. We walked in without reservations just before the dinner crowd and found a great ambience, excellent service, and an overall a very nice dining experience. We ordered from the prix fixe menu - steak frites and chicken as our main entrees. The food was delicious but not extraordinary. The steak was a bit overcooked; I had asked for a medium rare but was presented with a medium finish. My wife enjoyed the chicken dish very much. The wine selection wasn’t lengthy but satisfactory. Highly recommend for dinner.
Such a wonderful restaurant. We had a very nice experience. The food was devine and service was top notch. We both had the prix fix meal. My husband had the short Boeuf Bourguignon which was delicious and so beautifully presented with delicious vegetables, and I had the Trout Almondine which was so fabulous, light, buttery and delicious. The desserts were exquisite. We had a “to die for” chocolate mouse and our other dessert was a delicious tart.
Nice French restaurant, the food was delicious we eat launch, the tartar dish was excellent with the lamp margess sausage was perfect. Love it and definitely we’ll be there again.
Was lucky to find this place slightly out of the area and couldn’t be more happy with the food and service. Quaint French bistro in a small and nearly hidden French quarter section of Ventura blvd. Best Arnold Palmer I’ve ever had. Baguette with whipped butter was good enough (and huge) that it could have served as my entree. Scottish salmon perfectly cooked and the beef bourguignon was fork tender with wonderful subtle flavor. Topped it off with their crème brûlée for a wonderful French finish. I didn’t expect to see such large portions. Value is tremendous for what you get. They put care into this. Tim took care of us with just the right amount of attention. A real pro. Give it a try you will not be disappointed!
We had such a great night at Deux Bistro, this super charming French spot we found through the Red Dining Book. It’s father-and-son owned, which adds to the warm, welcoming vibe. The service was amazing! The servers were so kind, helpful, and accomodating. The father owner came by our table to check in, which was such a nice touch and made the whole experience feel really personal. :) Food-wise, we started with the salmon spread appetizer, which was light and delicious and one of my absolute favorites. We also got the french onion soup, which wasn't super cheesy and had a nice balance. Then we got the escargot and this was my first time trying escargot. I have kind of a texture phobia, so I was definitely nervous, but honestly it was way better than I expected! It was buttery and garlicky and can almost be compared to the texture of a scallop. I was delightfully surprised! For mains, we had a little bit of everything: steak frites, branzino (which I had—it was so well cooked and crispy), and lamb chops. All 4 of us cleared every plate, if that's not saying something! And of course, we couldn’t skip dessert. We got the chocolate mousse and the crème brûlée, and I swear, borh of these were out of this world! We seriously had such a great time and couldn’t stop talking about it afterward. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cozy, elevated dinner with amazing service and French food done right!!
The place it’s lovely, parking it can be tricky. Tim was our server and he was great. On Thursdays it has 50% discount for the bottles of wine. I’m still not sure why this place it’s not more popular as it’s a great options for dates, very quiet, clean, and with awesome and interesting food. By servers recommendation I got the Chicken that it was really good, tho I would love more veggies on my plate, that’s a personal preference for was very well served. Def ill be back for the steak and frites
We have been waiting in anticipation for the opening of this French restaurant in our neighborhood. We started with the beet parfait salad which was a great balance of texture and taste. It was so unique and delicious. Our main courses were the steak frites and roasted chicken with green beans, carrots and mashed potatoes. Both dishes were absolutely cooked and seasoned to perfection. Loved every bite! We ended the evening with the vanilla crepe cake drizzled in chocolate. It was utterly decadent! This place definitely lived up to the hype. The price for the food was spot on. Everything tasted so fresh and well prepared. On top of it all, our server Chris was amazing! He was friendly and attentive, gave the best recommendations for our wines to pair with our dinner. The food, ambiance and service were utterly superb and we can't wait to come back!
I'm so excited to finally have a good french restaurant around our area. It's a beautiful, cozy place with a huge flavor. Walking into the restaurant makes you feel as if you were taken to a restaurant in Paris. Very warm feeling and a clean feeling. We have 4 appetizers and 1 main course. Each plate was served with elegance and portion correctly. Each bite you took of the food was as it was ment to melt on the tongue. My husband and I will keep coming back.
Great little french bistro. Food was well seasoned. The bread and onion soup are a must, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Street parking or parking lot. Staff were tentative. There are indoor and outdoor sitting.
This charming bistro in the French Quarter is adorable and perfect for nice intimate dinner. The refined menu shows their attention and mastery to their food. The baguette with whipped butter was incredible, as well as the steak frites. The waiter and host were very attentive, and anticipated all needs, without being overbearing. The ambiance is relaxing and dream like after a long day at work. Would definitely suggest anyone to visit! My only regret is being too full for dessert!
The food was delicious and the service was good. The fresh bread 🥖 to start with to die for. Only argument is table are a little to close. Highly recommend
What a beautiful little French restaurant! Pleasant atmosphere, subtle flavors on traditional French dishes, and very good service. The dinner specials were interesting, but we wanted to try out the Steak Frite and the Trout Almondine. Both were superb. Especially liked the way the vegetables were cooked to go along with the protein. It was a great date night for my wife and I.
First time at this delicious place, but definitely will not be the last! Loved everything we ate! From the bread, olives, French onion soup, escargot to entrees of trout almondine and roasted chicken. The dessert was amazing too! 😋

Just finished a fantastic dinner at this new restaurant. We had the roast chicken and also the Salmon. Both were delicious. We finished with a crème brûlée. Can’t wait to go back.
Had celebrated my mothers 90th birthday here a year and a half ago which happens to be on Bastille Day. We had a large party and they accommodated us all so nicely. The food was absolutely amazing and authentic French. The service was astounding. The atmosphere was a small restaurant but seating options were still wonderful. Thank you for making my mother’s last birthday such a wonderful treat. Oh, and the woman who played guitar and sang was just the treat to top off a wonderful special birthday! We will be happy to come back soon!
Tim was our server and he was amazing . I had the seafood risotto and my friend had the steak and frites. He recommended a delicious white Sauvignon blanc that paired amazingly with the food . And he just made our experience so special. He let us bring a cake and had it served to us and packaged the rest for us to take home . He was extremely kind and just so attentive . The food was amazing! We also had bone marrow and the escargot. Absolutely delicious to say the least . That with the amazing service made this video extremely memorable. Thank you so much for the great memories and delicious food
I...love...this place. From the friendly owner (who also makes the gourmet cuisine) to the VERY well-trained waiters to the cozy provinciale interior with stylish music to the custom-curated menu par excellence! I love hosting clients here. Never ever disappointed AND the best cappuccino in the Valley. Merci beaucoup ❤️

I feel bad for leaving 3 stars, but I had higher hope for this place. We went there on weekend breakfast at 10AM. We were the only customers when we got there. There was one girl as a server, and I believe one person in the kitchen. As we seated, we were told that eggs benedict wasn't available. I ordered french omelette and pastry basket. The pastry came in no time but we waited about 30 minutes for the rest. It could be my partner's dish that took long, but we were almost done talking by the time our food arrived. The french omelette was salty. Like, I could feel striking large grain of salt on every single bite. The boursin?(or something along the line) cheese inside was good, but the salt on top was way too strong. The roasted(deep-fried?) potatoes were well fried to the skin but pretty tough to bite-in. A lot of things felt "off" for the quality of the atmosphere. My partner didn't complain to the food, so at least that one was up to the standard. I don't like nitpicking, but I noticed a stain on our tablecloth immediately after I seated. Having said that, I may give them another chance, possibly for dinners. But now I feel that I have to try it by myself. I can't risk taking someone there until I get more solid idea about this place.
Staff are friendly and attentive. I got the Duck a l'Orange. It wasnt too great and the portion is too small, especially considering the price point. It's way too loud inside with any more than 3 parties. I greatly wish that they had curtains, plants, or some sort of decor designed to absorb the noise, cause this place is like the inside of a drum and it was not a pleasant experience.
Unfortunately the only good thing we had was the wine. The onion soup had a layer of grease on the top, and it lacked depth of flavor. The Sole fish dish was bland and reminded us of fish fingers. The Steak was cooked well, but still chewy. The fries tasted of old oil and were over salted. The deserts were by far the biggest letdown. The profiteroles were chewy, were filled with an ice cream that was grainy, and served with a chocolate sauce that tasted burnt. The mousse was grainy and served with a whipped cream that tasted of cheap vanilla. The server was friendly, but we could tell did not have any training. Overall it was a disappointment.

Unfortunately, our meal did not meet expectations. All dishes arrived cold, and the steak was tough and not prepared well. Everything looked appealing, but the flavor was not there. I hope the owner takes this as helpful feedback because the atmosphere and concept have a lot of potential. Improving food quality and ensuring dishes come out hot and properly cooked would make a big difference. I’m not upset, but I am very disappointed, especially given the strong reviews and how promising the restaurant looks.
