Last minute booking for us but they fitted us in. Our first time here after being recommended by a good friend. Easy to find by brown signs even at night. From walking in the service was exemplary. Nick took care of us for the night, but it was obvious that all the staff were incredibly efficient. Lovely, slightly quirky conversion of an old mill. 'Big enough to cope but small enough to care' springs to mind. Perhaps 40 covers but don't quote me. The food was nothing short of excellent. Well thought out and gave the impression of being cooked with a genuine feel. Calamari starter, my wife had scaloppine saltimbocca as a main, I had the lamb chops. All really well presented and cooked exactly right. Wine suggested by Nick was perfectly served and complemented the meals. No room for pudding but liqueur coffees were spot on. 5* possibly not enough.
Treated my man for his birthday & ended up being a treat for me too, nice friendly welcome upon arrival, all the staff were happy, pleasant & really helpful, we orded pur cocktails & waited for our food, we didn't have to wait long the service was really quick, had the three breads & olives to start, then tonights special which was an absolutely delicious beef dish with a cream sauce, mushrooms & parsnip crisps, finished off with another round of cocktails & tiramisu..... absolutely perfect evening, thank you Highly recommend, excellent quality food, reasonably priced, great atmosphere, we will definitely be back.
A hidden gem. A bit off the beaten teack but easy to find following the brown tourist signs. The staff were brilluant and the food devine. A beautiful building making a great atmosphere. The owners and chefs are Sardinian and provide authentic italuan cuisine. This was our first visit. But we arw sure we will return often.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, the food was delicious and clearly made fresh with the finest ingredients, it was so flavoursome. The desserts especially were incredible, so well made and rich. The setting is perfect, a truly unique building in a quiet peaceful village setting, you can even see some horses from your table. As for the service, I cannot praise the waiting staff enough. They were attentive, friendly, clearly passionate for the food and willing to go that extra mile to make our dining experience memorable. They even had the whole team sing happy birthday and were able to create a custom cocktail just perfect. If you haven’t eaten here then you absolutely need too!
Food Absolutely Amazing Service Absolutely Incredible Atmosphere Absolutely Amazing Just a special note to Nick who genuinely was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and so attentive to our needs and offered different options which was just an absolute delight Cannot fault anything about this place, we will 100% be going back without fail and I actually cannot wait to go back Would recommend to everybody and already have to family who visit this area regularly 10 out of 10 for absolutely everything Thank you so much Nick and all the staff can’t wait to see you all again.
This restaurant is situated within a really cool old mill building. The atmosphere inside was buzzing and very lively. I had called ahead to let them know that we were bringing a service dog. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our booking. They reserved a table for us in the quiet area and all of the staff were so kind to our dog. It was our first time eating out with our service dog and we will be back.
Excellent experience end-to-end. The staff were very friendly, knew the entire menu and were super attentive (refreshing as it's hard to get good service these days). The food was otherworldly - we had the baked monkfish and langoustines (wow - try this!), and the vegan aubergine gnocchi (also great) - fig and pear frangipane tart for dessert. Every component of every dish was fantastic. I highly recommend this place - we'll be visiting often, just disappointed it took us this long to come across! Well done to the owners and staff. Keep up the amazing work.
A great place for a meal. First time to this restaurant and was not disappointed. Great service from lovely staff with chefs producing top notch food
Just eaten here this evening and everything was superb, first and foremost the food, excellent! Second the service, Poppy and the rest of the team were great, very friendly, nothing too much trouble! Would definitely recommend if you're wanting a lovely meal in a quirky setting. Will definitely return!
Fantastic authentic Italian food, we went on a Friday too so 241 cocktails for £9 which I found very good. Food itself on pricier side but great for a special occasion (we were there to celebrate an anniversary). Great customer service. Definitely recommend the croquettes on the starters and the pistachio cheesecake was divine!
We went here on a Thursday evening, and it was packed. Welcome was wonderful, and we were seated quickly, and drinks arrived soon after. Opted for the tuna carpaccio, sword fish, and prawn pasta, followed by the Lemoncello baked cheesecake. All was delicious, the fresh pasta extremely so. We would absolutely go again. I would recommend booking early, we arrived at 19:00 and it was just about right.
A spur of the moment trip on a Tuesday evening to Burro and it did not disappoint, we didn't have a reservation but still managed to get seated despite the restaurant being busy. From the moment we walked through the door the service and hospitality were second to none with staff always on hand when you needed them nothing was ever too much hassle. Finally the food, it was simply divine I had the 4 salami calzone and my partner had to monk fish ravioli with afregato for desert. I'd highly recommend Burro if you are looking for a amazing and affordable Italian in the South of North Yorkshire
An interesting and incredible, contemporary Italian restaurant, hidden away in a village set in an old mill. Definitely book ahead online via website. The service was excellent, the menu tantalising, and a good selections of wines. The food was incredible and the price was fair and the staff were attentive
I had no idea what to expect as the meal was a suprise. Fantastic setting. The restaurant is built around a windmill. The menu is extensive. My dish the Sea Bass was excellent. Service is second to none. A hidden gem that you must try.
We had a beautiful day today, cycling on the solar system trail. And to the end of our path, we were so much hungry. We came to eat some food without knowing what to expect. Good service and tasty food. Good place for families with kids also, peaceful and relaxing.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Burro, and it was truly an amazing experience. From the moment I stepped in, the elegant ambiance set the stage for an evening of culinary delight! For the main course, I opted for the Braised Beef Gnocchetti, delicious slow cooked beef which surpassed all expectations. The attentive and knowledgeable staff added to the overall experience. They were adept at suggesting menu recommendations and offered insightful descriptions of each dish, enhancing the dining adventure. Dessert was a grand finale of indulgence. The chocolate fondant, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, was a decadent conclusion to an already impressive meal. This establishment delivered a delicious and memorable experience and I will certainly be returning.
Having spent the day at York designer outlet we looked on Google maps to find somewhere to stop off for food on our way home. Omg, what a find this restaurant was. Absolutely fantastic. Would definitely return if in the area again. The food was stunning, staff very friendly and the restaurants setting was great.
Beautiful restaurant in a very unique, out of the way setting. Situated in what was once a mill, the place is warm, cozy and inviting. Friendly attentive staff and lovely authentic Sardinian dishes complete this great package.
Excellent dining! Arrived without booking a table, seated quickly. Very friendly atmosphere and staff. Food was excellent! Very very delicious! Hidden gem of a place.
Visited in March 2024 The Good A friendly welcome greeted us at this converted windmill. Set in stunning countryside in a beautiful part of the East Riding, this restaurant is authentically top-tier Italian. The menu is extensive, and the dishes are expertly prepared using fresh ingredients. Service was attentive yet not intrusive, and at all times friendly. I'd be equally happy taking the family with children for an early quick dinner, or whiling away the later hours over a bottle of Limoncello with friends. The Bad There's nothing bad here. The remote location adds to the atmosphere and is worth the trip. If drinking is an essential part of dinner for you, then someone will need to drive. Top Tip The Prawns and Monkfish Tagliolini gives a real taste of the sea. You could be standing on the quay in Savona.
Had a wonderful experience here. The staff were super polite and attentive, but not over bearing. The food was sublime, so much flavour and perfectly presented. Had a wonderful 5th anniversary meal here and would 100% recommend.
Fantastic setting Lovely food, wine, cocktails.. Helpful, but non intrusive staff create a relaxed atmosphere... Will be back..
Authentic Sardinian food in the wilds of Yorkshire, The sea bass was on another level, fresh and in an amazing sauce. Genuinely attentive kid friendly team, and simple surroundings, we will be back.
We had a great experience in Burro Restaurant, food was so tasty and servis was perfect. Very happy! 10/10 ❤️
Booked 5 minutes before we arrived, on a Saturday. Usually a red flag but we thought what the hell. Greeted by lovely friendly welcoming staff and a menu that looked incredible. The prices are reasonable (three courses for 2 of us including drinks was a little over £50) and the food it's self is incredible. Proper Italian food, cooked with love and served with personality. Really loved it here and wish we loved closer! The quirky building design looking over the fields add to the character and the Tiramisu is THE BEST I've ever had.
I come here a lot. I really should leave them a review. I love Italian food and finding a decent one is hard. But now I’ve found Burro, I’ve found a local place with a proper taste of Italy. The taste of Sardinian influence in their food is easy to see. Regular menu changes to keep it fresh, lovely cocktails and an excellent wine choice. I’ve been many times, for lunch and evening meals. As a couple and with family and friends. Every visit has been the same high standard, great service and lovely setting. It can get a bit loud sometimes, but that’s how the Italians eat! It’s a great atmosphere. The best thing about Burro is the service. The staff here are absolutely incredible, they make the experience that extra bit better.
A great venue and top notch food alongside excellent service and hosting from Nick. We’ll definitely be back as we couldn’t fault anything. Plenty of menu choices but we went for the special for the main course and the wine was lovely. An all round, excellent experience.
Incredible venue. Had an amazing evening eating out at Burro, the staff were great and the food was amazing, would definitely recommend for adults for date night or going out with friends in the evening.
Delicious food and great service in a unique building, certainly somewhere I’d be eager to return to. Vegans well catered for too!
My family and I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant for the first time, tucked away in the beautiful town of Selby/ Ricall. As soon as we got there, we were wowed by the authentic Italian setting and how it was buzzing. Please book in advance as this restaurant is unsurprisingly very popular. We started with the Scallops Pecorino on a bed of spinach, warm homemade Focaccia with pesto and crispy duck salad. This was absolutely delicious and went down well with the kids. For mains, the kids had spaghetti bolognese and pepperoni pizza while the adults went for Lobster Tagliolini and homemade Ravioli. Don’t forget to try their homemade ice cream and Tiramisu. Top marks - We are definitely going back and have already booked their tasting menu for later this month, I cannot wait. Burro is such a find.
Incredible. Service wonderful. Atmosphere wonderful and price mid range. Was a very good find and will be going again. What an experience!
A great meal in a converted windmill. Don't worry, the old mill has had building work to accommodate the restaurant. Staff were helpful and pleasant. There were families and couples, inside and out. The wine (merlot) was very nice. The food was well cooked and tasty. I will probably return to try some more dishes.
What a find! We did a bit of googling and found Burro was only a 10 minute drive away. A solutely lovely place, very friendly and welcoming staff, fabulous food and lively atmosphere. For a Monday evening it was busy!
Came back after a little while... Why did I wait so much? The team is great, food amazing and atmosphere unique. You should give it a go and you won't regret it. Highly recommended!!!
Lovely food and atmosphere, had a lovely family dinner. Would definitely go again
Took my parents here on Sunday evening, even though there was a private function the service and food was fantastic, we had the set menu 2 course and it was more than enough. All the staff were very friendly and polite, will definitely go back soon.
Great food and lovely service. But it can be very busy on a weekend. We were lucky in that we were seated in the inner room. The large outer room gets very noisy.
The atmosphere was very friendly, making it a pleasure to be there. The survice was excellent and attentive. We all had ample portions of very good and tasty food. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Visited as a group of 12. First impressions were great. It’s a really interesting building and different to other run of the ‘mill’ restaurants. Food was incredible. Really high quality. I recommend both the Mussels and Pizza. Service started off brilliant, but we were forgotten about after the mains and had to chase up desserts and coffees on a few occasions - I think the staff were busy preparing for evening service. Unfortunately we had a nightmare with the bill. It originally came over £200 more than what it should have been. They checked and it came back with a few more errors, so took a while to resolve the issue. Overall a good experience and I’m sure they were only one off issues. We’ll definitely give it another go!
