I am from out of town, doing a job in Hot Springs and stopped by this place. Wow! Was I ever surprised of the best hibachi I have ever had. The quantity alone makes you want to check your receipt to see if you were charged double. Excellent food, excellent staff, excellent prices, can’t complement it enough.
Koi never disappoints. My family and I love koi because of their fresh ingredients and fast services! My favorite thing on the menu is the fried rices! Can't go wrong there! Also they just got an interior upgrade with new tables, chairs and booths. I highly recommend going in and sitting down to eat. The atmosphere is nice and inviting ☺ We love you Koi ♥ Thank You for excellent service and food!
I'm quite particular about my Hibachi, having grown up in Springfield, MO. The Hibachi soup is very good, I only needed to add a little ginger to get it to my liking. The fried rice is also very good, fluffy and well flavored. I will definitely be coming back for more. Edit: Went back today to get some of their Beef Fried Rice and it was perfect. Order extra Yum Yum sauce. Only one comes with the meal.
Koi Express has definitely proven itself to be one of the best fast food restaurants in terms of quality food and amazing customer service. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of being served by an exceptional staff member, Payton. Her customer service skills were remarkable, making me feel like a valued customer from the moment I walked in. Payton's attention to detail and her ability to cater to my specific requests really made the overall dining experience that much more enjoyable. Her positivity and cheerful personality only added to the already high-quality customer service standard that Koi Express has built for itself. Aside from the superior customer service, the food at Koi Express also deserves a mention. The menu is extensive and offers a variety of options at affordable prices. Each dish is made with high-quality ingredients and is served in a timely manner. Overall, I highly recommend Koi Express as a great fast-food spot with exceptional customer service. If you happen to visit, be sure to look out for Payton, who will make your dining experience unforgettable.
I ordered the avocado bomb. It was AMAZING! I also had the gyoza. It was super yummy. It can get pricey. For 3 of us it was $60+. Drinks including water don’t have free refills and everything is in styrofoam take out containers with plastic silverware. Everyone at my table was happy with the food they got. A great addition to Hot Springs. Don’t expect a fancy dining experience. Expect waiting a little bit for some delicious food.
I recently tried the hibachi food here, and it was amazing! The flavors were spot on, and I was impressed by how fresh and non-greasy everything was. They give you generous portions of meat, which made the meal really satisfying. Every bite was delicious and well-seasoned, with just the right amount of vegetables and noodles to balance it out. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality hibachi!
We are here on vacation. We got it to go and it traveled very well. We had chicken hibachi and scallops. It was really good! I am pretty picky about a lot of things and the yum yum sauce was fantastic.
This place makes their own ginger sauce and it is advisable to put that on everything - it is delicious. They have a lot of items on their menu on which one can try this. We ordered a streak hibachi and a chicken hibachi - we did not order any sushi rolls but we may in the future. My partner and I enjoyed our food, she really enjoyed hers when she applied the ginger sauce to her steak. We ate inside the establishment and they served our food in styrofoam and plastic ware which we did not like. This did make it easier to take our food home but it kind of sent a message that wasn't all that welcoming. We will probably eat here again - the food is good - and the styrofoam may have been a temporary thing.
If you love Hibatchi food to-go but miss getting the full experience with the soup and salad, then go here! Finally a hibachi take-out restaurant with the delicious ginger dressing (or ranch if you’re that guy) and the clear broth with mushrooms (house soup) or miso soup (it comes with that one but I switched for the house) Now note, I am giving this five stars based on hibachi takeout, not bc they are the best in town. As far as take out goes, they get five stars bc the staff is kind, the flavors are good, and they are awesome for including the soup and salad with the hibachi noodles or rice dish. (I’m not counting the atmosphere in this rating bc they are meant to be a take out establishment but they are nice enough to let you eat inside at the old Mel’s Diner booths that have been in the building for ages.) Honestly For just opening the food was really impressive taste-wise. It is only take-out but you can eat inside so that’s a nice option. Just a heads up, it was meant for take-out so If you are expecting a Hibatchi atmosphere or a cozy dine-in ambiance, don’t. But if you don’t mind chillin in an old booth watching cars go by and chowing down on the food while it’s hot and fresh, it’s fine. This place is new and has the possibility to grow as decor and atmosphere goes. As far as the food, I highly recommend the AVOCADO BOMB! Like the name, it was bomb and could be a meal in itself. Get some steamed rice and put those bad boys on top and voila! A nice lunch. Also, I loved the house soup. It has a ton of flavor and spice and isn’t just a plain broth that’s over peppery like you find at some places. I also really enjoyed the ginger dressing on the crunchy iceberg salad and even as a dipper with the Shumai dumplings, which are also a delicious bite-sized snack you don’t see around here. The yakisoba with steak was really good, steak was a little on the chewy side but was better than some of the trucks around here and had PHENOMENAL FLAVOR OMG (comes with soup and salad too!!!!) The Rangoon had a really gooey filling with super crispy edges- I wish it came with a sweet n sour dipping sauce instead of packets of duck sauce but the duck sauce was actually really good on it (I’m just a dipper fan). Sushi was alright, really big bites so if you eat it in two bites the seaweed is a little hard to tear so I attempted to eat them in one bite- not the cutest look so be prepared, but the flavor was exactly what I expected except the spicy crab wasn’t really spicy (maybe they have sriracha packets?) The fried rice was really moist so that’s a plus if you are getting hibachi- only down side to that is they charge $3.95 to make the steamed rice fried when you order hibachi. That being said, the prices are a little on the high side but I’d go here over the closest food truck this side of town, especially for the awesome appetizers and the nice extras you get with the Hibatchi. Give ‘em a try, it’s decent for take out and I appreciated the options.
Their specials are a great deal, good food at good prices. I would recommend the hibachi chicken...
Giving only 4 stars because even though the food was good and the portions were great..we ordered online and was told 20 minutes..when we arrived we were told it would be 30 more minutes but it was actually 45 minutes. Had steak and chicken. Chicken was really good but the steak was a little tough and dry. Ginger dressing was great and the veggies were cooked perfect We called back at 8 to get another to go order for our son and was told they stop taking orders at 8 even though business hours clearly say 830. Just a heads up on that. Other than the small issues was very good and we will be back
Food has always been good. I was disappointed that they wanted to charge extra for more sauce, since they only give you one tiny plastic container with the meal. Especially since it was 21 dollars for my meal. The sauce makes it tasty and extra should be complimentary.
The sushi was delicious, a little pricey, and the atmosphere felt more like a burger joint. I would definitely recommend if you want some delicious sushi, though maybe not for a date night.
We where excited about having a hibachi closer to us. However our experience wasn't up to standard . The service was horrible the young lady in the front was on her phone talking about how she was planning to go out with her friends . She also was eating which was a eye sore in the front .The food was very blend with no flavor . The crab Rangoon were over cooked and dry My steak and chicken was dry and the YUMyum sauce was just plain mayo . miso soup was just salt with water no flavor . The food was not worth the prices. We hope in the future this location will re vamp their customers service and food quality . it sadden me to know this location is so new and the service was not great. Also they don't have high chairs for the Little ones . I wish this location all the success in the future.
This isn’t the first time I’ve had this issue, but unfortunately it will be the last. I placed a to-go order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later, only to find that the food hadn’t even been started. I was then told it would be another 10 minutes. I explained I had to pick up my kids and couldn’t wait longer, so I asked for a refund if it would take more time. The staff agreed to refund it to my card. I also expressed my frustration that the order wasn’t ready at the promised time. The employee blamed the kitchen staff for being slow, despite the restaurant being empty. Sadly, this seems to be a pattern—my order never starts until I arrive, regardless of the estimated time. I love the food, but I won’t be returning.
Food is gross and overpriced. Steak taste like cheap ground beef and soup was way over salted. Took an hour to make our take out order after they told us it would be ready in 20 minutes.
