A fantastic restaurant that exceeded all our expectations. The food was outstanding and incredibly flavorful. The concept is simple but brilliant. It might sound like a vegetarian or vegan concept at first, but that would be misleading. I can equally recommend this place for meat/fish lovers as well. The service deserves special mention. The waiters are not only friendly but genuinely warm and authentic. In fact, they were the best service staff we experienced in the hotel and across all restaurants in the resort. Beautiful ambiance, fantastic food, and an absolute highlight was the chocolate mousse dessert - simply a dream.
This restaurant was absolutely incredible. Firstly the food was amazing. It’s so great to see vegetables being the star of dishes in such an established high quality hotel - shining a spotlight on sustainable and local foods. There was attention to detail in every dish and a lot of thought and care went into each menu item. Even the drinks had most components handmade in house with no use of external syrups etc. In terms of dishes, we had the avo tomato bread starter which was delicious. Then for mains we tried the aubergine and saffron rice (like a risotto / paella). Both delicious, but the aubergine was on top for us due to the incredible flavours. The deserts were stars of the show! We tried the chocolate hazelnut dessert, and the lime avo mousse one. Both so different and experimental but incredible. So creative! They also kindly gave us the mango ice cream to try complimentary, as we asked about it and that was delicious! Secondly, the service was second to none. Being in the ritz you expect no less, but it was really exceptional. Jordan was the waiter who greeted us and he was so friendly and welcoming. We then had numerous waiters who were all amazing, friendly and very attentive. Finally the ambiance was great, super fresh and airy. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. A truly amazing dining experience!
This was our absolute favorite restaurant at the Ritz Carlton during our stay. The staff did a fantastic job sharing stories behind the restaurant, dishes, and wine they served. The food was incredible and the flavors they put together were unexpected in the best way. We would have gone there every night if we knew how great it was at the start of our stay.
Absolutely the best restaurant In Tenerife! 💛 This is our 3rd stay In Abama this year and we always book Verde Mar for our evening meal 😊 as 🌱 a vegetarians there is not much to choose from in other places therefore Verde Mar is our favourite place.🥗 The service is top notch. 👌 The food is delicious and very well prepared, looks and taste delicious, The starter carob bread and appetisers are amazing ! 🥖 🤩 Overall beautiful experience always love to come back ⭐️🌟⭐️

By far our favorite ambiance at the Ritz, and great food and drink as well. The Thai eggplant was excellent, as was the side of tuna. I especially enjoyed the options on the children’s menu - the hummus made me want to eat the child’s appetizer! And the avocado airbag was both neat in presentation and delicious. We dined here twice in a week and both child and adults agreed that we could have (and wished we had) eaten there every night.

After a disappointing experience elsewhere, our final evening at Verde Mar was nothing short of exceptional—and exactly the kind of dining experience one hopes for.From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. Jaime, the manager, was simply outstanding. His presence, warmth, and attention to detail set the tone for the entire evening, and he went above and beyond to ensure that our last night would end on a high. It truly meant a great deal to us. The service team—Matteo, Andrias, and Ties—along with the wonderful ladies whose names we sadly didn’t catch, were all equally impressive. Attentive, warm, and effortlessly professional, they created an atmosphere that felt both relaxed and refined. The menu itself is refreshingly unique, with vegetables taking centre stage and protein served as a complementary side. Each dish was beautifully balanced, creative, and absolutely delicious. The dessert was a perfect finale—light, fresh, and thoughtfully paired with the meal.What made the evening so special was not only the outstanding food, but the genuine care and hospitality shown by Jaime and his exceptional team. We left feeling grateful, uplifted, and already looking forward to returning—especially to Verde Mar.Our heartfelt thanks to you all for such a memorable experience. Ein wirklich interessantes und vorallem gutes Restaurant-Konzept! Es ist auf vegetarisch/vegane Küche ausgelegt, Fleisch oder Fisch können als Beilagen jedoch hinzubestellt werden. Absolut empfehlenswert ist die gebackene Thai-Aubergine. Zwar hatte ich dazu den Tunfisch, der sehr gut war, jedoch die Aubergine bei weitem nicht das Wasser reichen konnte. Service ist, wie im gesamten Hotel sehr angenehm und nie aufdringlich oder vernachlässigend.
Love the concept of this restaurant. We’ve been a few times and it works for vegans, vegetarians and meat lovers and vegan/vegetarian curious diners. The menu is mainly vegan and veggie but with side dishes and portions of meat and fish dishes. Everything is seasonal, local and organic. Dishes are creative and flavourful. Seasoning is in the dressings on the dishes. In this review I cannot say the word delicious enough! Dishes are beautifully presented, bursting as much with creativity and colour as they are with flavours. We ordered the bread to begin with aubergine and cheese dip along with air dried veg. To start we had the tempura of spring onions served with green mojo sauce on the side. and the roasted carrot and beetroot. For our main dishes we ordered too much food firstly but enjoyed every morsel. The sweet potato with roasted corn topping and a hummus. The roasted cauliflower. The canarian chicken and the tuna. One side would have been plenty. My husband ordered the coco passion to finish. Again delicious. You really won’t taste more delicious and flavoursome vegetables. If you get the opportunity do try this restaurant highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.
We had a great experience with our family of 4. The food was delicious, inventive, and well balanced. We took 2 veggie starters, 2 mains and 2 protein supplements. All were great, also if you would go without the fish/ meat. We had an amazing white wine (Tameran) from the Canaries to pair our dinner. The hotel restaurants offer really nice kids menus for all tastes (not the regular, unhealthy options). The service was excellent, professional but relaxed, and the pace was perfect. One of the ladies spoke French, which the girls really liked. Definitely recommend!
Viviamo a Tenerife e siamo vegani e stavamo cercando un posto in cui fare una cena di classe e per le occasioni speciali! Il ristorante Verde Mar é il posto perfetto. Siamo già venuti due volte e non siamo mai rimasti delusi. Cibo di alta qualitá, dove i vegetali sono veramente protagonisti, servizio ottimo, tutti molto preparati e sanno farti sentire coccolato. Vino pazzesco. Non vediamo già l’ora di tornare!
Everyone at our table was delighted with the food - including those who usually head to a steakhouse, they were seriously impressed by how good vegetarian food can be. Service was also superb apart from after requesting ‘a couple more minutes’ with the menu we had to call a waiter after ten minutes.
As vegetarians, there were a lot of really nice options here and the staff was really helpful in helping us identify how much we should be ordering and what options might be worthwhile. For 2 of us they recommended 2 smaller plates and 2 main meals. We ended up getting the bread starter, 2 smaller plates, 1 main, and 2 desserts and that was perfect. With the breads starter there was a nice aubergine cream/sauce with veggie chips, really enjoyed that! The bread with olive oil was nice too but more standard. As appetizer we got the Avovado, it's apperently a favorite. It was pretty good, essentially crispy bread you can use as chips with avo and pico on top. The Platano bravo was delicious and our favorite of the small dishes. We got the Roasted Caulfilower as our main dish and that was perfect to share, really great flavor. Last the desserts - the Apple Tatin was good but the cheesecake was amazing - light and fluffy with some seasonal fruit on the side, that was definitely a favorite. Overall nice experience (there is an outdoor terrace you can sit at) and really friendly staff. Loved the veggie forward options! Price is higher because of the experience and it being at the Ritz but was really enjoyable overall.
Do not sleep on Verde Mar as a dinner spot at the Ritz. Food: The menu heavily features vegetables but does have the option for meat to be included as an accompaniment. You don't need meat to have a fantastic experience and meal at this restaurant. There wasn't a tasting menu available when I ate at Verde Mar but that didn't stop me from sampling the menu. Couple high notes: I loved the Chinese cabbage croquettes and THE MUSHROOMS. Oh my god, the mushrooms were AMAZING! I stilI dream about them. Local wines! Service: Everyone was so helpful and kind, I had fantastic service and advice from Jordan, Eduardo, and Marcos. From suggestions to wine pairings, helping me pick a couple options for mains, and a fantastic dessert choice.
Excellent food and great service from our sever Marco. Never thought vegetables could be this delicious. All their food and wine is local produced and low carbon footprint. I recommend the: plátanos bravos (which is not in the photos), Chinese cabbage croquettes, beetroot and carrots, sweet potatoes gnocchis and the the higo pico cheese cake was just outstanding!!!

Absolutely fantastic meal. We're normally nig meat eaters so were a little skeptical but so much love and care went in to all the dishes. Very well balanced plates. Would highly recommend.
Food was delicious! I particularly liked the roasted carrot & beet starter, and the rockfish. Service was impeccable — the staff have to be commended for their attentiveness and care. After dinner we asked whether they offered a wine tasting experience — I think they generally don’t, but Sheyla (the manager) happily organised a wonderful experience for us for the following day, allowing us to taste various local wines!

Un descubrimiento absoluto, ya es la tercera vez que voy en una semana y me encanta. Propuesta fresca, divertida y desenfadada basada en la Cocina de mercado y proximidad con los vegetales de la isla como protagonistas, pero no solo es para vegetarianos porque ofrece proteínas con un rico pescado salvaje, delicioso pollo estilo canario, carne y otros. Destacan las croquetas de kimchi, el guacamole, las bravas de plátano, la tempura y el mochi de fresa. Platos elaborados y con mucho sabor para mi más que merecedor de estrella y sol Repsol. Mi restaurante favorito del hotel y hay dos berasategui.
Espectacular la experiencia en Verde Mar. Se nota muchísimo el cariño por el producto local y de kilómetro 0, una cocina donde los vegetales destacan de verdad. Todo muy bien cuidado. Además, la atención del personal fue maravillosa: cercanos, atentos y haciendo que te sientas cómodo desde el primer momento. Gracias a todo el equipazo de sala y cocina. Son los mejores.
An absolute delightful experience. This restaurant is located within the Ritz Abama hotel. Strongly suggest to make reservations. The staff upon arrival was lovely, and accommodating. They paid attending to little details to perfect our dining experience. This restaurant offers LOTS of VEGETARIAN OPTIONS! Everything is fresh. Delicious flavors, we came here twice during our stay in Abama. Would highly recommend.
Das Restaurant hat eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre und war durch die großen Terrassentüren angenehm luftig. Die Servicekräfte sind sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Zum Essen stehen eine Vielzahl vegetarischer/veganer Vorspeisen, Hauptspeisen und Desserts zur Auswahl. Die Hauptspeise legt den Fokus hierbei auf ein einzelnes Gemüse welches sehr kreativ kombiniert und in Szene gesetzt wird. Fleisch und Fisch können auf Wunsch als Beilage dazu bestellt werden. Einzig die Portionsgröße der Hauptspeise hat mich irritiert. Verglichen mit dem Hähnchen (Beilage) hatte ich eine etwas größere Hauptspeise erwartet. Satt wurde wir dennoch. Ich würde gerne ein zweites Mal vorbeikommen!
Uno de los mejores restaurantes en los que he estado en mi vida. Cada plato es una explosión de sabores, matices y contrastes. Los productos que fermentan son un universo de nuevos sabores y colores. El chef César González a sabido reinventar la cocina que versa sobre los vegetales como protagonistas. De visita obligada!
Excelente! Restaurante abierto literalmente hace 4 días. Una propuesta diferente, saludable y de proximidad. Los protagonistas son los vegetales, pero siempre con opción de acompañarlos con pesacado o carne a elegir. Nos gustó mucho el concepto y por supuesto el servicio esmeradísimo como era de esperar. Sirven aperitivo, pan casero y aceite local riquísimo. Probamos: Peto ahumado, Arroz de Plancton, Cherne, Setas con huevo, Calamar y de postres Fondant de Chocolate. Nos gustaron todos los platos salvo el Fondant. Un fallo lo tiene cualquiera. La carta de vinos de proximidad es interesante aunque se va un poco en precio. Agua filtrada a precio de mineral. En mi opinion una de las mejores opciones actuales del Hotel!
Un fantástico descubrimiento!! Cada plato es una sinfonía de sabores maravillosos y originales. Todo absolutamente todo es recomendable empezando por el surtido de panes con un espectacular AOVE, croquetas de kimchi, el plátano bravo (una versión insuperable de las bravas) el guacamole, las verduras en tempura, etc… para finalizar con unos postres increíbles como el mochi de fresa o el carpaccio de piña…. Todo increíble!! Y no quiero olvidarme del personal tan amable y profesional que ponen la guinda a una propuesta muy muy pro! Enhorabuena
La comida está súper buena y tiene platos muy originales - todo me encantó. El servicio súper amable y atento en todo momento, la verdad es que un gusto. La terraza es muy agradable y espaciosa. Lo bueno es que el sitio es bastante amplio y no se llena fácilmente.

My daughter and I dined here whilst staying at the hotel. It was an excellent choice. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was exceptional. It was nicely presented and the flavours in the choices we had were excellent. We would highly rate this restaurant.
Delicious food, exciting and different menu and very well presented! Waiters had a brilliant knowledge of the menu and were super attentive. Atmosphere felt a little frantic, took about 10 mins to be seated and there was a lot of rushing around / stressed faces - perhaps just a tricky day?! Would recommend and would go again.
Vine enamorada de Tenerife, del trato en el Hotel Ritz-Carlton Abama y especialmente nos sorprendió Jorge Domínguez, Chef del Restaurante VERDE MAR la creatividad de sus platos, la presentación, el buen trato a materias primas frescas de la zona, y la magnífica combinación de sabores nos hizo deleitarnos el paladar. No tiene nada que envidiar a Restaurantes con Estrellas Michelin. De hecho, si fuera por mi marido y yo, se la daríamos. 100% recomendable. El trato también profesional de los camareros, gracias a todos por hacernos sentir tan agusto, ojalá nos veamos pronto.
Fue el restaurante que más nos gustó dentro del Hotel y por eso repetimos tres noches. Comida y recetas canarias muy ricas y muy buena atención de Carolina, Sandro y el resto de personal. 100% recomendable

Un tratos cordial, amable, cariñoso, nos mimaron desde el minuto uno q llegamos. Era nuestra primera vez y nos guiaron en la experiencia culinaria, la comida fue exquisita, un contrastes de sabores increíbles, donde de nota que su principal producto es el local. Muchas felicidades al equipo Verde Mar por hacer de esta experiencia algo inolvidable.
Me invitaron por mi cumpleaños. No soy muy amante de verduras, pero comimos el menú de degustación y estaba espectacular. Cada plato precioso y riquísimo. Nunca comí tan bien en un restaurante. Muy buen trato. Repito seguro.
Ha sido un descubrimiento, la comida es exquisita, despiertan una explosión de sabores asombrosos, presentan un concepto único, desde el entrante hasta el postre fue una magia. Cuidan mucho el detalle, la atención fue extraordinaria Carolina, Jordan y el chef Jorge nos hicieron pasar un momento único. Fui a cenar por mi cumpleaños y salí encantada. ¡Una auténtica joya! El concepto del restaurante es especial y único, y la comida… simplemente espectacular. Cada plato está lleno de sabor y matices, con una calidad excelente y un cariño que se nota en cada detalle. Es una explosión de sabores que eleva la cocina mediterránea con un toque muy canario que sorprende bocado tras bocado. El servicio no se queda atrás, el equipo fue encantador y se volcó al 100 % para hacer que la experiencia fuera inolvidable. Sin duda, un imprescindible si estás en Tenerife y te gusta disfrutar de la buena gastronomía.
Esta noche ha sido la cuarta vez que visito VerdeMar y como siempre ha sido una experiencia inolvidable. Fuimos a celebrar el cumpleaños de una amiga y todo estaba preparado con mucho mimo y detalle. Disfrutamos mucho de la comida (gracias infinitas al chef Jorge) y tanto Carolina como Deivis hicieron que la noche fuera fantástica con tantas atenciones y un servicio impecable.
Verde Mar is located a short walk from the concierge on the same floor, up a few steps into the bar area, with both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside — cleverly disguised with plants, fairy lights, and a glass wall separating the terrace from the car park. Heaters on both sides kept the space comfortably warm. The restaurant focuses on vegetables and vegan dishes, with meat and protein treated more as sides — a refreshing concept. Starters • Bread with tomato dip — a cross between hummus and tomatoes, served with crisp vegetables, though slightly on the sweet side. • Kimchi croquettes — delightful and interesting, a real highlight. Mains • Roasted Cauliflower (V) Japanese curry, stracciatella, pickle gel, crispy onion The cauliflower was excellent — well cooked and crispy. The sauce could have been more generous. • Crispy Thai Eggplant Satay sauce, pickled onion, goat’s milk yogurt Essentially an aubergine schnitzel topped with Thai sauce — soft inside and crispy outside. Unfortunately, the yogurt was stringy and gloopy, as if it had congealed. • Canarian Veal with Tajaste red wine sauce A small portion. Requested rare but arrived closer to medium and slightly dry; the sauce saved it. • Canarian Big Eye Tuna with Grilled avocado, coconut and lime cream sauce. Only three pieces. Again, some arrived rare, some medium. The fish was decent quality, and the sauce — tasting like green mango but actually coconut, lime, and avocado — was very nice. The desert of Peanut Vulcano which is peanuts, cinnamon and lemon couldn’t with roasted apple compote, vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce was an odd dish as the sauce was too sweet and the taste profile just didn’t match, the tart of the apple with the spices; all very much over powered by the sweet sauce. Service Attentive and warm. A lovely anniversary touch with complimentary cava and strawberries — much appreciated. Overall A pleasant dining experience with a strong vegetable-forward concept, some standout dishes, and thoughtful service, though a few food execution details could be more consistence.

We liked the concept of the restaurant with focus on vegetables. The starters were very good, the main courses were just okay. Top notch service. But I felt the price was a bit too high for the quality of food. Cheapest glass of wine is €12.
Interesting take on classics, with the vegetables being the main dish and the meat the side, instead of the other way round. The location is near the parking lot, so a bit less scenic than other restaurants in the resort, but overall a nice experience.
Overall tiny portions and overpriced. We had our chicken burned a bit. Terrible green coriander in every other meal without it being stated on the menu.

Unfortunately, my experience here was ruined by food poisoning, which kept me in my hotel room for days. That said, the staff and service were excellent. Its a shame the food did not match the hospitality.
Het is een principe een vegetarische restaurant maar, de smaken zijn niet op elkaar afgestemd of gewoon teveel champignons. Hier moet men nog heel veel leren. Ik zou er zeker niet voor omrijden.
The food is actually really bad here. They are trying too hard and each dish has too many ingredients that don’t at all work together (key example - yuzu bechamel in a lasagna). The addition of pickle to everything doesn’t make sense (in particular a sad bland creamy gnocchi and a sweet potato). Overall the effect is somehow both extremely bland but with discongruous flavours. They do a disservice to the vegetables they serve as they show up either boiled or fried to an inch of their life and for a restaurant that is supposed to celebrate fresh produce you really can’t taste a thing of the actual vegetable. The service is very warm and friendly but extremely slow.
