We had the best experience at El Cholo. The food was excellent, but what made it incredibly special was the service that we received by Olga G. We dine out quite often and she is by far the very best waitress we have ever had. If you try El Cholo, which I highly recommend you do, ask if Olga is in the house and request her to be your server. She was amazing!!!
I always enjoy dining at El Cholo. My go-to order is the wet red burrito — it’s always very flavorful, perfectly sauced, and consistently satisfying. The service is excellent every time I visit; the staff is attentive, friendly, and makes you feel welcome. It’s definitely a spot I keep coming back to.
Excellent, authentic and delicious Mexican food. Great service and reasonable pricing. Erin and Cheyenne are wonderful and do an amazing job of managing the restaurant!
I love it here, the staff are always friendly, warm and inviting. The food is excellent and I always include ordering my favorite item on the menu> Zapatas Widow!!
I love this place, I always get the carne asada plate. It comes with a good size NY steak, I order it medium rare and it’s perfectly cooked. The steak is about 1 inch thick, pretty good. With the steak comes the rice, beans, some guac with tiny strips of romaine lettuce and cut up tomatoes, also comes with 4 pieces of either corn or flour tortilla. I love it. I get this every time, and it’s delicious! It’s not bad for a quick steak dinner, Mexican style. The quality of the steak is not bad for 30 bucks. Love this place.
We’ve been coming to this restaurant for years now and have never had a bad experience. Whether it’s a sit down meal with the family or happy hour with friends, El Cholo doesn’t disappoint! Chips and salsa are always fresh, and not heavily salted like some restaurants. The food itself is flavorful and the portion sizes are fair! Drinks are well done every time! The servers are always friendly, professional, and always have a smile. It’s so nice to still have a restaurant around that we know will be a safe bet when we want to go out to eat! Highly recommend!
Absolutely loved our visit to El Chili in Anaheim Hills last night! The food was amazing, full of flavor, and everything came out hot and fresh. Our server was awesome—super friendly, attentive, and on top of everything, which made the whole experience even better. Service overall was fast and smooth, and the vibe in the restaurant was relaxed and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area and craving great Mexican food!
I really enjoyed my visit here. The salsa was full of flavor, and the staff took care of us with friendly attention while still giving us plenty of space. The portions were surprisingly large for the price, and every dish we tried tasted wonderful. I also loved sitting at the bar since the vibe was relaxed and you can choose anything from the full menu. A fantastic spot all around.
We had dinner at El Cholo in Anaheim Hills while in town on business and it was outstanding. The service was top notch and the food was delicious from start to finish. The nachos were great, the chicken chimichangas were fantastic, and both the beef and fish tacos were full of flavor. We finished with the flan which was rich and satisfying. A five star experience.
Good ol classic Mexican food with a great atmosphere. We sat in the cantina for HH and had an $8 Rita, can't find that price anymore! Kids loved their chicken nuggets and ff and we loved our ooey gooey enchiladas. Chips were fresh and hot! Definitely a great place to go for an old school Mexican resteraunt vibe!
The restaurant is very nice, spacious & cozy. The staff sat us immediately and made sure we were comfortable, we ordered right away and everything was absolutely delicious! The drinks as well! Everything came out fast and was nice & hot. Great parking and the staff was very attentive. We’ll definitely be back!
I don't even know how I stumbled upon this place. It was nowhere near where we needed to be but it had good reviews and said there were gluten free options so we gave it a try. It looks older and very clean and the staff are attentive and knowledgeable about gluten free eating. The menu for GF isn't huge but it didn't matter, the food was beyond excellent. I got Annie's enchiladas and added chicken. I have no clue what that sauce was on it but it was just sweet enough to be delicious didn't taste like anything I've ever had before. It made it feel like I wasn't eating Mexican food, though, because it was rather sweet and there was no heat to it. It was still good and I definitely recommend trying them. Next time I'll have the fajitas to try. The chips and salsa were gluten free, as well, so that was refreshing. I did take a few bites before remembering to snap a photo so my apologies. Sometimes my stomach gets the better of me, haha.
This place was off the charts amazing. The food was extraordinary. So much so that my wife went grocery shopping and ordered a bunch of sauces and salsa to take home with us. As good as the food was, the service was even better. Our waiter could not have been more friendly and helpful. We were first-timers and he recommended delicious dishes. Definitely try the 1923 enchiladas. To top it all off, when we asked for our waiter's manager to come to our table (because we wanted to complement him to his boss), his boss turned out to be the great granddaughter of the original restaurant owners. Wow! My wife and her hit it off and we came home with a new friend and a recipe book. 🏆
I love this place. But because I dont eat meat or chicken, the choices for sea food are very limited. Shrimp fajitas are great and fish tacos are not bad.
I went for lunch for a date with my husband. The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. The atmosphere was great. My husband described it as "a Mexican disneyland restaurant. " I agreed. The food was good but not the best. Portions were small for the price. I ordered an enchilada and a taco. They tasted alright. Nothing special. The coconut margarita was great, though. Super yummy. The server was nice, funny and friendly. I recommend this place.
The place is good and also quite spacious. The service person was quite nice but the decor etc was good but not exceptional except for the tap in the washroom which was a design I haven't seen earlier. The virgin Pina colada was tasty and so was everything else we had. Portions size was reasonable and not having the appetite of a young person none of us could finish our portions. The spicy sauce we requested with the complimentary nachos was actually very spicy. We definitely enjoyed the experience.
Came in to have lunch here with a dear friend ,whom I was meeting first time after COVID. The staff was welcoming and very patient while we caught up with 2 years worth of sharing. Grateful for that. My friend ordered the Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos and she was pretty satisfied with them. I ordered the Santa Barbara Enchiladas. Wasn't disappointed. Sauce was flavorful and on my request they happily got me a side of verde sauce to enjoy with it. Glad the server suggested not to swap the sauces as I did enjoy the Gaujilo Chile Salsa with it. We shall be definitely back to try some of their other dishes.
We had a family get-together here and we hadn't been here in a few years. The staff were amazing, but the food and pricing were really lacking - they just didn't match. Our hostess, waitress and everyone was very attentive and brought plenty of drinks, refills, chips, etc. They really helped celebrate a birthday as well. Where it was lacking was the food - I had Combo #1 - the cheese enchilada tasted great, but it was TINY and thin. The rolled taco was okay (meh) it had a good taste, but was soggy in throughout the center - only the edges were crisp. The chips were oily/greasy and the Salsa had a strong oregano flavor, although it was good salsa. My Combo #1 was $21.99 - so, $7.33 for the rolled taco, $7.33 for the cheese enchilada and $7.33 for the rice (I had no beans)? It just seemed like very little food for $22 plate. My son had the cheese quesadilla and it was pathetic, although made from a home-made tortilla.
I am a Mexican food snob, so it's really hard to impress me. I liked the service, the atmosphere and when I ate here it was before the lunch crowd, so we had a lot of room to ourselves. The food was good, but nothing earth shattering. There was plenty of parking. Lunch was pricey, so I expected something on a higher taste bud level.
The servers and waiters here were very helpful and kind but the manager was rude. She did not allow us to sit in the patio for happy hour even though there were only three other people in the restaurant in the bar. She made it a point to not connect with us even after we asked to speak with her and never came back to check in. Any other time if a bar/restaurant were busy, I would have understood, but this place was so slow she could have helped us better being it was my first time, and my friend who has been there before knows to have it better service. As a manager, you lead your team, and she was not a leader. She barely managed the restaurant to help it succeed. P.S salsa was mediocre and drinks were bland.
