Admittedly, I have been to a large number of Japanese restaurants and have even traveled to Japan. Short of being in there, this is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. Fushimi is special, tucked into a small strip mall with somewhat limited parking. It has a very fun interior, themed almost like any other Japanese steakhouse. The dining experience was great and our waiter was even better. He even chatted with me about my experience in Japan, his experience in the states, and let me practice the very little of the language I still remember from high school (it's been a long while). But the food...if I lived here, I'd be a regular. And quite honestly, I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. We ordered a few things, including the salmon teriyaki dinner. It came out sizzling (literally) but was still perfectly cooked. It wasn't dry or super fishy, just absolutely delicious served over a bed of vegetables with a side of steamed rice. We also ordered a few rolls which, for the life of me, I can't remember the name of because I was too busy actually enjoying my food. Overall, a great dining experience and I can't wait to visit again.
This place has been excellent every time I've been here for dinner, highly recommend. Definitely my #1 for japanese food in Fairbanks. Food is always delicious and perfectly cooked. Sushi options are solid. Everything is surprisingly cheap for how good and how much you get.
My boys said 10 out of 10! Our servers Riley and liz were both so kind, the food was so good, everyone that came to our table for any reason was so nice. Not bad on pricing at all 5 of us for $105!! Thank you so much!! We will be back for sure
The environment is quiet and perfect for gatherings. My friends and I ordered a lot of delicious food. The food was beautifully presented, and the portions were very generous; we even took the leftovers home. The service staff were also incredibly attentive and friendly, frequently checking if we needed anything. This is a restaurant worth visiting again.
This place is great, and I personally love it. I'm not a big fan of sushi, so I order the seseme chicken everytime. The wait time is usually short due to the lack of people in the restaurant (odd but I know takeout is an option). The workers are always amazing, and I remember when one complemented me! The interior is gorgeous, with many decorations to look while you wait. Id recommend visiting especially in the winter, because it makes the place feel 10x more magical 😎 One small issue I have is that I think the place needs a bathroom sign cuz I embarrassed myself by walking accidently into the kitchen hallway. Not a big issue but man I felt silly 😥
Went in tonight to get some food to go. Great food at an extremely reasonable cost! I tried the salmon and prawn entree, which was $19.95. It was amazing. The good sized piece of salmon was sesame crusted and very moist, not dry and overcooked like many places. And there were 7 (yes, seven) prawns in the dish! All served over a large bed of mixed vegetables, which were perfectly cooked. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no onions in the vegetable mix, because a lot of places use lots of onions for filler. The staff was great and the service was quick. Will definitely return and I highly recommend this place.

There was a HUGE sushi variety on the menu; however we all ended up ordering different varieties of the Bento Boxes (all under $20). The inside was cute with nice art work. Staff was friendly. Food was fresh. Would go there again.
We ordered their beef teriyaki bento box, udon noodles, sushi rolls, salad, crab wontons and vegetable gyoza. Food came out so good, everything was delicious. The plating/food presentation was lovely too. Thank you!
The were variety of veg options. The Vegetarian Dragon Roll is a winner, and the fried rice and veggie yakisoba were on point. Totally recommend it!
They have great sushi for vegetarians, We ordered hot sake, edamame, sea urchin sushi, California sushi and veggie soba noodles. Everything was served promptly and made fresh. The chef himself interacted with us (it was a less busy day) and suggested sushi items to try.
We eat here 1-2x/month and it's always fresh and delicious. The service is amazing and the Nigori cold and tasty. Hands down the best sushi is Fairbanks!!
One of the best dining places around town, my fav rolls are Hiroshi hako, dancing dragon and lobster summer, they also serve a decent variety of Asian dish, like nabeyaki udon, Thai curry chicken, general TSO's chicken, bento box etc. with a generous portion! Great place for family gathering and couple dating. You'll believe it unless you give it a try🤩
Great staff, and calm decor. The food isn’t bad, but it isn’t the greatest either. Nevertheless, it’s my second time around here. Maybe I’m just picky with my sashimi? Some tasted a bit fishy and others were fresh. Would I come back for a third time? Yeah, for sure.
Nice Japanese food in town. Sashimi is fresh and delicious. Sushi is great, too. Udon and basil is okay.
I was in Fairbanks for work and was told this place was a must. It was ok, it was really empty so I was seated right away and my food came out very fast. It was ok, I didn’t feel like the fish was fresh.
The food was just okay. It claims to have real crab, but I’m skeptical, and there were only a few fish eggs—barely enough to justify including them. The service took longer than expected, especially since it wasn’t busy.
My time here was really good thanks to the nice staff. But the food was just okay, nothing special. However, the Tempura Udon was pretty good. Overall, it's a good spot for a quick bite to eat.
Fairbanks good... but not great. The ambience of the interior is nice but the tables are sticky and the drink glasses hadn't been rinsed well. Some of the food taste like it came out of a bag from the frozen food section of a grocery store. Other items were decent, but way over priced. If you need to get your sushi fix, you can get it here, but better and cheaper options are available in town.
Beautiful decorations and clean. Food was disappointing. No matter how much soy sauce I poured over my rice, there was no flavor, I got the broccoli chicken, again no flavor. The chicken was extremely chewy to the point where we thought it wasn't cooked... apparently it was but very chewy... bland. I think some garlic or spices would be nice.
The service was great! Prices were high and the food was terrible (could have been my fault) but we ordered two types of sushi both were ok and we got the seafood udon which was TERRIBLE fought its way in and right back out on the drive home the texture and the flavor were both off and the shrimp and squid were so tough we could barely chew it. I’m not the kind of person to lose my appetite over the smell of a dish but this was a rough battle. I do NOT recommend the seafood
