These are hands down the best mochi donuts in otay / Chula Vista! I was lucky enough to discover Mochinatics during Covid days - when my best friend visited from the Bay Area. He told me we were going to someone’s house to pick up donuts. I was so confused but when we got there, we were not the only ones picking up an order. I was impressed with how organized the order process was, freshness of the donuts were and oh my gosh the flavor does not compare to any other donuts I’ve had! This was over 3 years ago. Fast forward to now… the family has this store front with more options and continue to develop new items as well. As we entered, we were welcomed by big smiles and a friendly staff. The inside is clean, menu is easy to read as they also have a display of the donuts available to purchase. My family and I opted for the chocolate biscuit, Oreo and Ube donut. All three were phenomenal. I love how sweet the donuts are but they are not too sweet. The mochi texture is perfect too. The store is conveniently located inside the otay ranch mall. Plenty of parking, space to eat outside and a few seating options inside as well. They also serve drinks such as boba, pancakes and mini donut bites too. I appreciate their amazing service and kindness. 10 out of 10 recommend this place.
I love Mochi donuts! So I was happy to find this location when I was nearby. I was there with my son, so we were able to sample a lot. Ha! Super friendly and helpful employees and the best mochi! I also tried the mini-mochi-pancakes, which I recommend and the photo is below.
Went to the pop-up in Little Italy during the December holiday street fair. We tried the Ube Cookie Crumble and the Cookie Butter S'mores Meringue donuts. Oh wow. The donuts were so good. I'm glad they're opening a physical store and can't wait to go for more!
Such yummy items!! Hands down the best mochi donuts around. The ube cold foam latte is one of my faves. The staff is always so kind and helpful!!
Came home to San Diego to visit, and stumbled upon them at the Japanese Friendship Garden at Balboa Park. Check them out if you have a chance! Great service and most importantly, great donuts! Tried the Matcha and loved it. Wasn’t bland like most places I’ve tried. The cookie butter was awesome too!
Love the donuts and drinks for happy snacking! I would suggest to put cute designs and music so people would love to stay in snacking with friends to get more people come in (just a vibe suggestion)
The mochi donut taste my wife and I have been looking for. Nothing in the city comes close. The salted caramel iced latte is ridiculously good.

I’ve been buying mochi donuts from Mochinatics for a couple of years now. I heard about them by word of mouth. That they have the best mochi donuts in southern San Diego. Homemade and made with love! They are very considerate and go out of their way to make you happy with your order. Bringing their mochi donuts to our family parties are always a hit! So thankful I have found them and will definitely be going to them for many years to come! Now their hard work and yummy donuts have culminated in a store near us!

You can tell each pastry is painstakingly designed and decorated down to the finest detail, using only high-quality ingredients (the type of chocolate and other frosting they use on their donuts is the PREMIUM stuff!). Donuts are fresh, delicious, and they have an awesome rotation of flavors on an ongoing basis--our favorites are anything with ube or tropical fruit (like lychee or mango) on it. Also helps to know that the owners are kind, hard-working human beings as well. Highly, highly recommended!
The mochidonuts are yummy! I tried the Ube Oreo, Chocolate S’more Meringue, and Chur-reo flavors. None of them let me down. I like it a lot that it is well balanced between sweet and chewy. These mochidonuts are hard to resist and cannot stop because of their great taste, aroma, and appearance. They are perfect companion for a happy tea/coffee time! Overall, I believe: “A great dessert a day, sweetens you the whole day!”
Honestly some of the best donuts I’ve ever had. Super addicting but super worth it, they’re not overly sweet with makes them so easy to eat!!! The owners are super awesome people and they make it super easy to buy from them. Highly recommend if you guys haven’t tried mochi donuts!
I have tried the different Mochi Donut shops in LA, OC & the ones locally here in San Diego and I must say that MOCHINATICS is the best & my favorite of them all! The consistency of the mochi texture is perfectly balanced - not too chewy & not too doughy. The quality is so excellent that consuming it a day later still leaves you with that delightful experience! Mochinatics is also very creative & inventive in offering diverse flavors & designs. They have infused Mochi donuts, theme-based (i.e. Star Wars, graduation, cinco de mayo, Hawaiian etc) & flavors that honors various cultures (i.e. turon, tres leches, black sesame, lilikoi lychee, Japanese Kit Kat flavors, Girl Scout cookie flavors, matcha etc). I also had the pleasure of trying their malasada bites and ube chessecake tarts. there aren’t enough superlatives to describe how heavenly they are. For the malasadas, you get the best of both worlds with the doughy but a hint of mochi combination. the ube tarts are also delicious and beautifully presented, you can serve these at fancy restaurants. Kris & Cherelyn (Mochinatics owners) are also amazing people. They are organized and have a good workflow established for their business. They also give back to the community by raffling out donut giveaways for frontline workers. I’m so excited that they are expanding and will have an actual storefront soon. I can’t eat donuts the “regular” way anymore after discovering Mochinatics in 2021.

First time having a Mochi donut, went because it is the closest donut shop to the house. Picked up a half dozen to take home and trial. My life has been changed forever these donuts were incredible; not too heavy and perfectly balanced. Mochinatics are truly masters at their craft.

I was having a donut craving and my husband brought these home. WOW! The mango sticky rice donut was insane, and I tried a mochi beignet that was delicious and we both split an ube cotton candy one…all were so delicious and had the perfect consistency. I’m in trouble with this place being so close to the house!! 👀💖
By far the best mochi donuts I’ve ever tried. You can taste the difference in quality compared to others. They have offer a huge variety of flavors so there’s definitely something for everyone. They are a huge hit when I bring them to share at work and the cheesecake tarts are dangerously addicting!
