1st review, but about our 100th time here. Bubba Gump is always a fun place to eat at with a definite New York vibe that is hard to miss. Servers are usually a happy batch of individuals and that unique concept they have of stopping any waiter when you turn your license plate on your table from "Go Forrest Go" to "Stop Forrest Stop" is just too cool. If you're lucky, you'll get a great second floor view of Times Square, but if you're not you'll still enjoy plenty of decor that is all movie-themed and fun to look through. Even a walk to the bathroom will have you doing double takes at some of the fun decor they have along with movie memorabilia. Definite must haves if you go in: Appetizer - Shrimp Mac and Cheese Drinks - Speckled Lemonade (Strawberry is amazing!) Food - Ribeye platter is awesome! Shrimp Scampi Pasta... awesome! Strawberry Salad... you guessed it, awesome! and dessert, though small, the Key Lime Pie Now, for those of you that are Pepsi fans, I am sorry to say that for whatever reason this place is now a Coca-Cola spot, but it is what it is. Oh, and don't forget to check out the souvenir shop on the first floor (also the entrance) as they have some really fun items and souvenirs.
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is a fun, family-friendly choice for a meal in Times Square, especially if you're a fan of the Forrest Gump theme. I had a fantastic experience at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.! Service was good and the food was absolutely delicious, and the frozen drinks were the perfect refreshing pairing for the meal. The shrimp scampi pasta I got was seasoned perfectly, and the garlic shrimp appetizer was good as well. Definitely my new go to when in NY!
Very good service! First time at Bubba Gump and I love the decor, the vibes, and how decked out they are with Forrest Gump references, even down to the music! James A. is fantastic and made our first experience even more memorable. Excited to return soon!
This was one of my favorite restaurants that I tried to visit every time I got to New York City. Yes, it is Forrest Gump-related and you'd better review the movie before the visit so that you understand what it is all about - the references are everywhere there! Starting with photos on the walls to license plates with Run Forrest, Run! and Stop Forrest, Stop. You just use one of these plates if you want waiters to come by or to stop and get you something. The service is absolutely adorable - everyone is so positive and helpful. I was one alone and the waiter just asked me some questions, some small talk - so that I don't feel alone -) And, definitely, the food, which is absolutely impeccable. This is the best restaurant with shrimp meals I have ever been to. Location is also great - the very downtown of NYC. Nothing is more central in the city than Times Square -) So, a great restaurant with great food, great service and great location. Five stars on all fronts!

First time trying out this restaurant, we enjoyed the one by Universal. What a treat, we waited about 30min for a table. As busy as this place was Orlando our server was very attentive to our needs. The food was delicious, so were the drinks. The overall experience was great.
As a fan of Forest Gump we had to go here! Although we had booked there was plenty of table space available but that could have been because we dined early! Loved the decor. We had Shrimps of course and the food was delicious. Portion sizes were big for us Brits so you could share and make space for dessert. Perfect location for our first night in the Big Apple. Warm welcome by the lad that served us. Thank you for a lovely evening, would definitely recommend going.
In the middle of Broadway, overlooking to the street. Loved the seafood. Some of the servings were massive, had to take out half of my plate. The ooey gooey box of chocolate was amazing. Must try! Braxton, our server, was great. Will visit again.
Went in September. I was along for the ride on this restaurant choice because I'm not a big seafood fan in general. I got the Mama's Fried Chicken breast and absolutely loved it! Good coleslaw and mashed potatoes. Great corn, liked the sauce they drizzled on it. Nice portion of chicken. Took one piece back to the hotel and ate it for breakfast. As a Southern girl, I was sad about sweet tea not being a drink option, but I made do with raspberry tea instead. So if you get taken along and don't care for seafood, I highly recommend Mama's Fried Chicken!
Shane is THE lovliest and MOST helpful lady in the whole of NYC. This place is awesome! Even if your not a movie Forrest fan, its a fun, cool, quirky and differet place to come. It won't dissapoint, promse!! Menu is also pretty spectacular and served, also with quirk!

We stopped by for a quick bite before a show. The service was great and the atmosphere as well. The restaurant’s concept is very unique. I had no clue there was a Forest Gump-inspired place in Times Square. The food we tried was delicious. I would come again for the rolls! The only thing that raised question marks was the absence of vodka in my Bloody Mary, and no, I didn't order a virgin drink.
Had a great time at Bubba Gump Shrimp in Times Square! The fried and battered chicken and shrimp were delicious – crispy, flavorful, and really hit the spot. The place is fun and nicely decorated with a cool Forrest Gump theme throughout. Service was awesome – super friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. A solid spot if you're in the area and craving some tasty comfort food in a lively setting!
My server Joey was amazing!!!! Loved his attention to us and attitude, very welcoming and friendly. The food was amazing and we ended up getting the Shrimp Scampi and Shrimpers Heaven. Both plates are equally amazing plus the hush puppies. Couldn't have asked for anything better. I love this place next time in town I will be coming back!! Drinks were really good too.
My wife and I had lunch at this “Forrest Gump” themed restaurant. Most of the dishes in the menu are shrimp related. In general the food was good, but the chicken tenders and fries my wife ordered wasn’t that good. The service was excellent and the atmosphere very interesting.

Visited after having been here many years ago. Couldn't believe it was half empty and very quiet, considering it's Times Square. No reservations, just turn up. The food was hot and service friendly and swift. The Kids menu was great and arrived in a boat, which my son liked. Free refills on drinks. The food was great, so there no complaints. We did get charged an adult drink instead of 99c for a child's drinks, but the waitress did reluctantly change it. He is 7 and drunk a quarter of the glass. I didn't appreciate being overcharged. We didn't get offered a dessert menu and was instead given the bill. We were too full for dessert anyway. If your a Brit, it's worth noting you'll get the bill, then need to give them your bank card to take away. You then sign a slip and write how much tip your giving. They charge your card twice, once as a holding amount and the a final amount.
Great Service, Disappointing Food I had high hopes for Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., but unfortunately the food really missed the mark. The flavors were bland, the texture was off, and overall it just didn’t live up to expectations especially given the prices. That said, the service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made the experience much more enjoyable despite the disappointing meal. If the kitchen matched the quality of the front-of-house staff, this could have been a great visit. Hoping they can improve the food, because the team definitely deserves better!
I havent been here in 10 years but the food has gone down the drain. I was so disappointed. We ordered shrimp 🍤 because what else would you get but what they are famous for. Ive would have never thought I would get dry rubbery tasteless shrimp. So disappointing. Ohh and thier drinks were watered down. The waiter was so sweet though and accommodating. Would not recommend.
Go there for a drink and to enjoy the atmosphere, honestly the food is garbage! Wouldn’t pay a penny for that kind of food. Servers are good and attentive, place looks really nice, my issue was with high priced low quality food!
