This place is awesome, safe and friendly management. I have been here for 6 years and I enjoy every moment of it. Every time you face an issue the management take cares of it. Great place to live.
It's very clean and comfortable! My kids love it. Very quiet and safe. I would recommend to friends and families.
Been here for a few years and they are always attentive, flexible, and maintainence issues are always addressed quickly. Would recommend!
I just wanted to compliment Angie, she is such a helpful and caring person
It's quite here. Kids play but aren't destructive. They just added door trash pick up and reserved parking!
Love the Staff Angie always helpful. Fav Girl in the Office.
I'm very Appreciative of the Management and Maintenance for the good work and service they provide me Thanks
Nice quiet environment at affordable prices, and the office staff is very adequate, helpful and friendly (especially Ms Janet, she's the best ever)
Angie and LaDonna are outstanding they are highly professional, attentive and friendly. I have had impeccable assistance throughout the entire process of renting and moving in, and continous support. They move really fast I was in my apartment in under a week from applying I definitely would recommend steepleway downs to anyone looking for an apartment in Houston the customer service puts this complex above and beyond most places .
This is going on my 3rd year living here and I love it. I switched to a bigger unit and its very spacious. The only thing I miss is having the big mirror in my dining room. The office staff Mr. Adrian and Ms. Ladonna are both very professional and anytime I have any problems or concerns it gets fixed immediately.
I've been living here for over a month and so far so good! Angie has been such a great help and really efficient with any questions or concerns i have! Angie made my move in process super easy and stress free.
The Assistant Manager is so caring. Takes care of your issues right away. Property is kept up. I would highly recommend.
I've lived at Steepleway Downs for many years. I've always had a good experience with the help. That includes Michelle the Manager, Angie the Assisant Manager, the leasing consultant. and the three maintenance men.
Handled the freezing weather and all the plumbing related incidents very well the last week. When a pipe burst in our unit they had someone over within half an hour to make sure the damage wasn't worse than it had to be. Thank for the maintenance staff and management here the last week!
Well kept very shady grounds. Wonderful neighborhood. Very comfortable and safe. The best thing about this property is the staff. From the moment I moved in they have been helpful and accommodating to all my needs. I highly recommend this property to anyone.
The office staff is very compassionate and patient and very willing to answer any questions. I've only lived here seven months but being that I am originally from the south side I'm pleasantly surprised how happy I am over here I love the property I love the upkeep of it I love the maintenance staff and the office staff.
First off I would like to give Thanks to Maria and Angela for being so helpful. Our year there was great. We had no issues what so ever of any kind. The apt. complex is quiet and comfortable. I would greatly recommend living there. Thanks again!
It’s been a great living here, the front office agents are always helpful and maintenance is always available to fix anything needed. Big shout out to Angie from the front office for always being first to help and respond when needed!
I want to give kudos to a porter named Robert Bradby. He is one of the hardest working people I have seen here in a while. He completes his tasks properly and is attentive to our concerns. He is an asset to the company. Great work Robert! Micheal and Shari
I have been here for a while and I love it. It is quiet and I really like the floorplan and space in my apartment. They are always hosting events for the tenants. I couldn't be happier. The office staff is the best. I love Michelle, and Angela, and Maria. Great place to move.
I called to check availability on a 1 bedroom apt. John was very pleasant from the first Hello. Once I arrived to the property, I was greeted with the same pleasantness by John and the Assistant Manager Helen. They were very helpful and wanted to make sure all my needs were met. Their Customer Service was from the heart and they made sure I felt at home. Thanks John And Helen.
Great apartments. I've been residing here for almost 6yrs. Great staff. Angie is always helpful and has great customer service. She's amazing. Any problems and maintenance is always on it ready to fix.. Overall Great place!!!!!!
Let me start off by saying don’t trust all reviews that I’ve been here going on 4yrs now and Ms Ham she definitely looks out from start to finish no doubt never had an issue and if I did she fixed it right away if anyone looking for a place stop looking come see Mrs Ham 10/10 Definitely recommend
Been here about 2 years. Going to go another one because of the service I receive. With every apartments you have good and bad. But what really makes me happy is management who cares about you. For example Ms.Angie. She has always been so nice, she handles any problems I have as if they were her own. My child says she also comes out to see how the kids are doing when they are around playing. I love it here!!!
This is my first apartment ever in the United States and I can honestly not complain about much at all. Been here less than a year and my initial process of applying and getting moved in with a special, took no time at all. Angie, one of the staff is cool and helped me with whatever I needed as best as she could, and the head honcho Miss LaDonna always has a smile on her face when I see her walking around or in the Office. I will most likely extend my contract because the prices are good, its quiet and the neighbors I have met have all been pretty chill. Overall for me, all good!
I am currently a tenant here at steepleway apartments and they have the sweetest and most understanding workers ever. Angelica is one of them , she got me in the apartment quick and easy and when you need help with something she is on it. When it comes to paying your rent and needing a lil more time, as long as you communicate and respectful to her you will get the same energy back. She does not like to see any one down so she does what she can to help and i truly appreciate that from her .
I love love love it here. I’ve been here since November and I’m already thinking of renewing my lease later this year. Ms. LaDonna & Ms. Angie are the best and moving in was a breeze. Any problem I have is ALWAYS solved in a timely manner, the few maintenance issues I’ve had (kitchen light replacement & air filter replacement) were always fixed within a day of submitting it. And speaking of maintenance, Mr. Cesar is a sweetheart and is so nice. All of my neighbors keep to themselves but are friendly and it’s pretty quiet. I do love that the office is always interacting with the residents with different things, like they’ve given out free cookies on National Cookie Day & margaritas on Cinco de Mayo, they even suggested we do a meet & greet to meet more of our neighbors in the complex. They’re always having deals on moving in, so take advantage & come join us!
I have only been here a few months, but I have met more neighbors than the last placed I stayed for over 3 years. Very friendly environment. The staff is very friendly and the maintenance crew is great. Jose fixed my A/C drip pan problem in less than an hour, but also bleached the stains from my bathtub where the water had been dripping.
I lived in this complex for one year and I must say I enjoyed my stay. Maintenance took care of any problems right away. The reason I moved was to be closer to work. The leasing staff were very polite, helpful and professional. As far as neighbors, everyone kept to themselves. Never had any issues with anyone. I would definitely recommend anyone to live here.
I have been here about a month! When it comes to the service for maintenance they are on top of it! Ladonna the manager is so sweet, talking to her it feels like she will relate your concerns as if they are her own. Angie is amazing Omg omg omg total rockstar when it comes to being there for residents, she really goes over and above to provide selfless assistance in ANYTHING! Kendra is also an amazing part of the office, she is so nice and down to earth. I never get that “resident vibe” when I go in the office it’s always a friendship type of vibe..
They offer a 3% military discount which is great but some complexes don't offer anything. My move from a one bed one bed was long but they took a two bed two bath and put the flooring I'd adored in another unit and made it worth the wait. Plus I still have the huge mirror in the dining room. I've not had more than two issues in a year for maintenance ice maker and garbage disposal but they fixed it quickly. Just wish valet trash was optional!
Hello, I apologize that it took me so long to write this review, but I forgot my log in. Nevertheless, I wanted to let everyone know that I got a new bathtub because the old one was gone. The professional that was sent was named Mike. He was absolutely outstanding. You know that may not expect that it takes great skill to remove and install a bathtub. I asked a lot of questions about how this was going to be done without tearing up my apartment and leaving it all dirty.....etc. I was assured that this would not happen and that I would be please with the outcome......that they had a "pro" who knew what he was doing .....just wait and see. Well, I must give kudos and credit where it is due. Mike was friendly most of all and took great care with making sure that he did not dirty anything, no tracks on my carpet, no drips, nothing. He removed and entire bath tub and replaced it and the tile without a trace that he had been there. Absolutely remarkable and thank you for the great job. The work ethic that this young man exhibited was like unto "old school " workers who enjoyed what they did and it showed in their work. I am grateful to have been blessed and I appreciate all that he did to make my experience great! Thanks again, he deserves any increase that you can get him. God Bless You all.
I've been a resident of this community for almost three years. It started off rough and I had planned to move before new ownership and management took over. Since, there's been a drastic improvement. Maintenance issues are handled in a timely manner, but what has made me stay is the desire to engage the community and attempt to build relationships amongst the tenants. I would recommend the complex to anyone I know. Like all things, your return is equal to your input.
My husband and I have been living here for 3 years we moved from Louisiana with very little knowledge on how things worked it Tx but Angelica was simply the best she walked us through the whole process and it was very smooth and quick we moved into a 1 bedroom and wanted to transfer to a 2 bedroom after a year and everything was so quick and effective the community is gated and they take very great care of the groundswork. This decision really made me feel great about moving to another state we love it here at Steepleway.
Moved in into this apartment complex 2-3 weeks ago. They are under new management, going through a lot of repairs and renovations. My personal experience has been great. Staff is very polite and professional, especially Ms. Gabby. They take all issues very seriously and trying to help ASAP. One of the most important things - they really do care if you're happy as a resident :) Hopefully it will stay this way.
Not a resident just yet, but I just have to say that Kendra and Angie are the best staff at a residence we have ever experienced!! They are very on top of everything, and just so helpful! We cannot wait to start our new life at Steepleway Downs! Thank you ladies for everything! You, both, have made this process fast and stress free! We really appreciate y'all!
Angie was very welcoming and very nice. She gave me a tour of the community. Answered all my questions and showed me an apartment. Loved it.
Son unos excelentes apartamentos muy limpios el área y lo inmediato a uno

I’ve been there now a year and it’s just a really great and comfortable complex. The staff are always so helpful and just so kind. Im am truly just so appreciative.
I am so impressed with the maintenance at this apartment complex. The day that we moved in there were some issues that needed to be fixed, and by the time it took me 10 minutes to walk back to my apartment, maintenance was already there fixing things! They were fixed on the very first day and fixed efficiently
Been here since June and haven’t experienced many issues. Neighbors have been pleasant and the area is overall quiet. The maintenance crew answers my request within an appropriate amount of time and are very friendly and helpful. Highly considering on extending my stay.
Very nice property, and awesome front office.there were very helpful. Angie found me not only a home but an affordable apt for my daughter and I. Maintenance is great . I see them on property and keeping it very nice and quiet. I highly recommend these apt .

Steepleway Downs is a great place live. The management team is awesome to work with. Most of my interactions with the management staff has been with Angelica Ham. She is a top level professional that has shown her high level of competence from my first meeting. Angelica is so skilled at her job that she made my initial registration a snap. Angelica has continued being the go-to person to get problems solved. Each time I needed help with something, Angelica solved the problem herself or sent one of her very skilled service men to fix the problem. The longest lead time for the most complicated repair was completed the very next day!!! The new apartment manager is very fortunate to have Angelica as her assistant. By the way, the new manager is awesome too! I love living in this community!
Ive been living here for about 3 years or so, maybe 4? Kinda lost track, but regardless, ive had little to no issues at all since my first time moving in and the few issues there has been management is always quick to fix. The pool is actually opened, which in my past experiences with other apartments the pools are always closed, management and the people in charge of the maintenance are super super friendly. I highly recommend the apartments, its a nice peaceful atmosphere, in my case Angelica was the one that helped me move in, and honestly couldnt have asked for someone better, shes such a great person and she has always been super friendly whenever ive had any questions
I moved in to these apartments a little over 6 months ago and I must say I truly love the complex. It's very well kept and it's very well lit at night. The office staff is very unique that has something others don't and that's compassion and humanity that you don't get in this business. When dealing with our maintenance staff I have entered a work order and it has been completed within A-day or 2 at the most. I would recommend these apartments to anyone whether you're a single adult or have children again it is a beautiful complex you won't be disappointed.
Amazing move in experience. Angie is the best and made everything smooth.
I Be in steepleway downs alot Basically cause I know mostly everybody But I like da fact it’s quite and everyone stay to themselves oh yea The office Lady’s Is Very Nice Ms.Angelica Always smiling and speak and I bearly see Ms.Donna everybody say she mean but she straight to me it’s all about respect
So far so good . Only been here a few weeks but it’s been peaceful. Angie is very helpful
They are pretty nice, a friend lives here, just a little expensive, but what isn't these days.
Very laid back apartments, maintenance are always on time. I want to thank Angie for her hard work, dedication and being very patient with the residents.
Need to work on extermination for the prices we pay. Other than that, these apartments are great. I see there is a new team in office and that's amazing, really good for the girl who is assistant manager because she was carrying everything on her back as if it all was her responsibility. I am loving this new team for her! But yes please exterminate these buildings.
My friend live here they are ok. Mi amiga vive aqui, estan bien.
For some reason with their remodel they took out the garbage disposal and they constantly had roaches like really bad
Came outside this morning to a very refreshing site. Noticed that the complex is beginning to take on a new look, and yes it's very welcoming. The grounds, (grass, PARKING lot, etc) are being well kept and tended to. Maybe it's due in part to the new maintenance guy (Robert) that I've seen bustling about. This guy is none stop, he really seems to take care of business.
Got 2 months left, i live in the pool area, some of the staff are a little uprofessional and dont handle themselfs like any other buisness but again they are only an apartment, not a multi-million dollar company..
been living here for a year now and i extended my lease another 6months. definite pros and cons: pros: quiet for the most part, wonderful maintenance team due to their kindness and response time, decent exterior and interior, helpful staff. cons: due to being an outdoor complex, we have small roaches inside which are certainly annoying, more so in these warmer months. the weekly pest control isn’t much help to keep them away. although the staff is helpful, after months of moving in, i no longer received their overwhelming kindness as when i started my application process. they’re helpful, not rude, but they seem neutral for the most part. also, i’ve seen that some residents do not respect the community enough to pick up after their pets or themselves in the on-site washer/dryer room. i haven’t experienced crime, car theft, or non-working appliances but i’ve seen these other reviews and i believe them to be true. overall, i think you can make this complex your home but it may have some cons - but maybe other places will too. UPDATE: the office will respond to emails most of the time but now that i have cold water running in my shower for about a week, i have been following up and they say they’ll send out an update but they haven’t for several days. i don’t know when i can expect warm water in my shower again.
My experience here was pleasant. As a first time renter here, there aren’t too many things I can complain about. You get what you pay for. Management and maintenance are nice people. I always had timely repairs and good interactions with the staff. They don’t go above and beyond but they’re helpful. Pests are a problem here tho, in the year that I lived here pest control only came one time into my unit. It’s a quiet complex for the most part, there were several instances where the police had to come for domestic disputes during my stay. One thing I loved about this place is the amount of open grass for pets to use. Definitely a pro for any renters with pets.
I have been living at Steepleway Downs Apartments for the last three years and up until now I am dissatisfied. Recently new provisions were added to the contract, that I deem unnecessary and unfair! The act of paying for trash removal is unneeded as I live across from the dumpster. The fact that it is mandatory and $25 extra a month is a hard ship. This past Thursday evening I decided to take advantage of this trash removal act and as of Friday, my trash is still sitting outside my door (apt 1110). Since the rent has been raised I have decided to look for another home. The extra $100 a month to month rental is outrageous! Please consider your present and future residents and give them options. I know of one family who had to move into a one bedroom apartment because of the rates. I realize this is a business, but without tenants, apartments would be empty. Thank you for addressing my concerns if only to just vent!
Rate of thefts and burglaries are increasing daily, cars being broken into, and front office keeps brushing it off. The apartments themselves are okay, and great for pets. The issue is crime is skyrocketing in the area and there is zero security here.
Lived here for a while now, and this place isn't great. I would NOT recommend it. I will explain why in no particular order; The gate, is broken more often than not, and one of the side gates is always propped open with a rock. Very comforting. And there is a fellow, I'm not sure his condition, but he walks around all hours talking to himself, shuttering and coughing his lungs out. I see him sitting around random spots, wearing the same black shirt. Most would suggest he is a 'crack head'. You can sometimes smell other smells in the apartment leaking over from others. The insulation is almost non existent, you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on around you, and beside you. I am unfortunate and live near a maintenance 'unit' and there is ALWAYS big appliances sitting out near the parking spaces, the workers are very loud, early in the morning, and have little to no respect for the residents. They advertise signs that say 'towing' but I have walked around the 'resident' parking spots, and a very good amount of cars without the parking passes. I have even inquired about it, to no avail. The trash bins are almost always over flowing, with nothing surrounding them, they are open and an eye sore. You are given a gate code, 5 digits. I have tried several different combinations and they have all worked to open the gate. 4 or 5 digits. I'm not sure that any combination of 4 or 5 digits would fail to open the gate. As far as safety, it's not bad. It's fairly quiet, you do have the occasional hooligan conducting strange business, and being very loud in the parking area. The appliances are extremely low quality, my dishwasher has a disgusting plastic smell that I cannot seem to get out. And there was 1 of 4 screws holding into the counter, it came apart on me and nearly fell on me. The counter tops are painted, and not real material but wood instead. So yes, they will mold. I asked several times for a copy of my lease agreement, but still haven't gotten on. Guess I have to go in and literally demand it. The rent for my unit is outrageous for what goes on/what is seen. There are several, cheaper apartments in the area that are much nicer. Unfortunately I selected this one, and will NOT be renewing my lease. The AC unit has had to be worked on several times. The wires are sticking out the top of the unit, and they are taped up with electrical tape, and wire ties. EXTREMELY UNSAFE. I have had the water go out twice, the hot water out 3-4 times, the AC go out twice. Sorry, but this complex has been a complete let down. The management is more concerned with social goings on, and leaving before their posted hours than helping the residents. Sincerely, One disappointed resident.
Roaches, leaking windows and ceiling in the rain, paper thin walls and more roaches. Whenever I had a problem in the office it was as though I was an inconvenience like it’s not their job to help. The maintenance guys were the only positive thing about this place
I have been living here for 4 months and I have never been more happy that I signed a shorter lease. The last time I spoke with or dealt with someone friendly was when I toured the apartment. By the time I moved in she was gone and so was the only friendly face. The office team is beyond rude! The gym hasn’t been accessible since I moved in. The tub was a rush job so the surface peeled a week into move in. I literally have been in my apartment with no hot water for almost a week. Put in work orders and it gets cancelled mind you it’s cold outside yet I’m boiling water just to wash my dishes properly. I’ve been in MANY MANY apartments but the office staff here are enough to not even look this way. Do what you want with this information but I’d live under a bridge before I renew my lease here.
Don't really remember her name, possibly Angie or Angela but she was extremely unprofessional with a nasty attitude. The apartment wasn't even for me and I definitely wouldn't recommend them to any one.
Dirty, not well kept, thugs galore, apartments smell of mold, incredibly bad pest infestations, roaches, ants, and nothing is done to correct this. Clearly mismanaged and not maintained. Look elsewhere unless you want to live in a shady ghetto.
Very poor alot of cars are being jacked the office wont do nothing about it they leave the gate open and services are bad and bad people .!.😠😠😠 DONT MOVE IN DONT MOVE IN DONT MOVE IN DONT MOVIE IN TRUST ME YOU WELL REGRET IT RENT TO HIGH GET YOUR CAR JACKED BAD PEOPLE NO HOT WATER ROACHES EVERY WHERE IM A CLEAN PERSON BAD MAINTENANCE
This was the worst Apartments I've ever lived in the maintenance was the worst the rules for the pool just makes no sense they even lie to other kids and they get mad for no reason so I was so happy when I moved away because I really got tired of those apartments there was literally no quality
Nice people but crime is high cars and cars parts will be stolen we were without water for 2 weeks
Late for work AGAIN because they shut the water off. Don't move here, it's a polished turd.
Roach Roach Roach everywhere and black mold on AC ducts every unit most disgusting apartments
My niece and I moved here in October, It seems like they threw the apartment together to get it ready and now they want to charge for reserved parking when there are limited parking spots as it is and they want to charge you for valet trash. I never had roaches until I moved here and WHAT THE HECK IS THAT TAPPING IN MY BEDROOM WALL!!! I have made several complaints about and nothing NO I WILL NOT RENEW MY LEASE HERE.
Ladonna needs to go. Rude and unprofessional. Water always off, roaches, mold everywhere. Everything is just painted over the issues. Remodeling is a big joke. Bathroom needs to be remodeled especially the tub. I wouldn't let my dog stay here.
This place doesn't care about you or your well being, new management is worthless and very unpleasant and unprofessional, they will hang up on you if you question them.. I'll be moving out this year... Last management was a 4star all day.. this is just terrible now.. stay away! They throw unpaid bills in the tenants lap while they're the ones who's responsible.. stay away! Unless u like roaches :)
These were obviously flooded and they did not tell anyone it was and the dead rat smell in the apartments are beyond horrible and roaches smh. Water comes out black on occasion. They look nice inside but not woth paying even $1 to stay there. I am sure if inspectors came out to this complex they would not be allowed to rent out.
Looks nice but ROACHES everywhere, seems like management doesn’t care. RATS CENTRAL and the exterminator only put down poison and sticky pads. I have a dog so if they rats eat the poison and eat the dog food that would be horrible.
These apartments are nothing like the pictures shows they're nasty they have roaches the trash bins are always filled over with trash. And they are other apartments that are cheaper and probably better than with these are. So sad that they are in Steeplechase and Jersey Village area....
I can’t wait to move from here they have you paying 1000+ for roach infestation apartments they have a guy that comes out that uses cheap roach killer solution these apartments need to be tore down they are no good they have mold growing in the vents they also have mold growing on the tub the ac hardly works they paint the tub i clean my tub and the paint comes off they are so cheap and liars I’m going to report them to someone above management this is sick and it’s a human health hazard
Horrible, cops there every week! Moved out in December verified there were additional charges ,they stated there weren't any. 4 months later I get an email from a collections agency from these apartments . Nobody in the office knows what they are doing.. worse experience!
Angie Rude both of them they don't speak to the people first they put they head down when they see you coming their way but these are the workers. The winter storm messed up our apartment the cleaning crew took things that they still never even replaced out my apartment. They always sorry tho
I have been without hot water for weeks. Their failures are being documented. Update: Management still has not fixed my water. For about a week my water was only hot, with no cold water available. That was better than no hot water. Now, after doing 'repairs' on the heating system, I am back where I started... with no hot water. This is getting old. I don't want to live in a place where I can't take a hot shower. This is a really basic issue, that is covered by Texas Landlord/Tenant law. What's worse, I told the office manager my thermostat was malfunctioning. She said I would have a new one the same day. Nobody ever showed up. A few days later I go back to the office and ask for a new thermostat. The employee told me she would write up a work order, and someone would be there on Monday. Nobody showed up. Ultimately, I went to the hardware store and bought a new thermostat. I installed the new thermostat myself. I think it's time to get the corporate office involved. Beth Davis, with HM Equity, has proven effective in the past. Another update: The people working in the office have proven themselves to be completely, and hopelessly, incompetent. First, my water situation is still not fixed. And, they clearly could not care less. Second, I told the office my thermostat was malfunctioning, and needed to be replaced. I told them twice, and never could get anybody from maintenance to change it. I had to go to the hardware store and change it myself. Third, for the last FOUR WEEKS I have been requesting pest control. They simply flat out refuse to do it. Each time they fail to send pest control in they blame someone else. So, I am going to have to fork out money from my pocket to have a company come out and treat my apartment. I'm not even exaggerating. I wish I were. These people just don't give a damn, period. They are utterly useless.
I live here from 2016-2017. Moved with new furniture purchase and was highly upset due to the amount of roach infestation. When I made multiple complaints, they only said it was my neighbors fault and can’t do anything about it even though there was prior evidence of roach infestation from all the roach droppings in the cabinets. Also there are rat infestation in which I have actually seen rats ruing inside the cracks in foundation on the outside (you can see rat trap boxes in the bushes by the patios) Water is always discolored brown from old pipes and smells. Also cars being broken into, and cops are there every night for demestic issues. I’m glad I left this horrible place, you can get better for the same price in the area.
RESPONSE TO ROBINSON REVIEW; 3 WEEKS WITHOUT A/C: This is UN-ACCEPTABLE. No A/C in considered an emergency in the apartment industry. August is one of the hottest months of the year in the summer. Anytime I was in an apartment, depending on whether or not the A/C could have been repaired, or needed to be replaced, the situation was resolved the same day. And for example, one time when my A/C went out, the maintenance assessed it was the compressor in the a/c that went out. They bought a new a/c immediately from Home Depot, and had it installed and replaced the same day. This was also in the summer. A/C's is considered a first priority in the apartment industry. And the fact that you had a child also living in the apartment, if they didn't fix this issue right away, that's comparable to having a child in a car with the windows up in the hot summer. This is substandard (below the usual or required standard). Also, the Response From Owner to your review, the fact that they brought up your non payment of rent the following month, relative to your eviction, had nothing to do with their irresponsibility to resolve the A/C issue as required. Once a compressor goes out on an A/C, it is not repairable. It means that the A/C is gone, and needs to be replaced. Not to mention, it would cost so much more to try and have a compressor repaired, and take time. More than it would take to have the A/C replaced. Another time my A/C went out, it was on a weekend. The management said they could place the order on the weekend for a new A/C, but the company they used for this would not be able to fill the order until Monday, because they were only open Monday through Friday for that. The order was processed first thing that morning, Monday, and the new A/C was delivered, as well as installed by their maintenance on that Monday. There is no excuse for this. You should have never been without A/C so long. I also had a child with me. The apartment industry knows they have obligation for this, especially when children are involved as well
Lets start off by say that i am NOT a Tenant at this property. Both the Property manager David Brooks and the receptionist/leasing agent, Abigail, made sure to remind me, after ever third sentence, when speaking to me. I was visiting my boyfriend who was at work. I decided to call the office on a follow up work order he placed a month back and because the workers that were hired to do some remodeling on the property had moved some plants he had on the patio. Now mind you, in the time I have known him, i've noticed he's gotten reminder paper notices that such and such work would be done on X-date. Had that been the case, we would of moved the things on the patio to not interfere with the workers. In any case, i called to inquire about the workorder, Abigail lacks phone etiquette. Due to a bad connection with the phone line, she started getting snippy, mind you if what the conversation should have boiled down to was a polite, "i apologize but do to the fact that youre not on the lease" from the get go.. i would of thought ok fine. Abigail however, continued with the conversation and from the sounds of it, dont think that work order was submitted. when i got to discussing the complaint about the patio plants she literally hung up. i walked to the office to figure out why she was being rude and if perhaps she still felt as bold. when i walked in, i asked a worker if the manager was available and was told that it would be about 45mins. I did proceed to have a conversation with Abigail but rather then just being courteous and apologizing because thats what being PROFESSIONAL is all about the manager comes out of his office and has her back. Doesnt surprise me now that i think back because his demeanor was just as uninviting, facial expression and body language read "i could care less". What irritated me most is that she blatantly lied about "ending the call" becausei supposedly said thank you and goodbye. When her manager spoke up about that she sat there smirking away!! Who does that?? I asked him for his business card and how long ago they had become the new management team, which he hesitated after the third time. Then, escorted me to the door because he said he was going to be in a private meeting for 45mins and had to lock the leasing office?? For a meeting?? how are the REAL TENANTS suppose to access the office if need be.. You all may think im just rambleing and its none of my concern, but if i was in charge First, id make sure the staff was accessible and approachable and not standoffish. Secondly with the property issues and renovation taking place i would think the communication GAP would be fairly short and accurate. it boggles my mind the way business is conducted and more so because contracts/agreements that are legally binding effect these tenants more so then the management property. People shouldnt deal or be dealt with like this. it makes me sick to my stomach that these are the pawns hard working people have to deal with if at that. im sure there are those who just deal with it because they feel they have to other option/choice. DO NOT MOVE IN!!!
Do not move here unless you like living with roaches. I stopped cooking in my apartment months ago cause I just got fed up with having to watch my food just to keep roaches off of it. At this point I can’t live here anymore and will just sleep in my car. I’ll rather just be evicted since they refused to move me to another unit.
This place is HORRIBLY infested with ROACHES! 🪳 They are everywhere and in everything, even inside of the microwaves and ovens. They claim to have exterminators come through but they don’t do anything. They have tiny roaches and medium roaches so you know the place is infested. It’s very traumatizing and frustrating. I can’t sleep good at night because I’m scared of roaches crawling on me in my sleep or crawling in my ear. This is very unfortunate and I’m trying to hurry up and move so I won’t go crazy but it’s been difficult finding better accommodations after renewing a lease smh. I wouldn’t live here and I live here and I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay here either. If you don’t see roaches in the beginning. Trust me they will come because the apartment complex is infested.
I lived at Steepleway Downs for four years and moved out in April 2019. From the beginning I wished I had chosen another place to live. My apartment was roach-infested from day one and no amount of pest control visits ever remedied the situation. Dogs are allowed to be left on the patios so tenants keep them outside to bark throughout the day and night. The particle board "sprayed-on" counter-tops regularly shed "sawdust" from underneath and when wet, swelled and broke apart. The entire management staff and maintenance crew were abruptly removed and replaced three times causing much inconvenience. The ancient water main broke and left us without water for days five times, the hot water went down four times. My floor had one hollow under the carpet in the living room and two in the kitchen, one of which, when walked on, caused damage to the Linoleum as it sank into the hollow. I had maintenance look at it three times - including the new and current crew - I was told that to fix it they would have to tear up everything and re-pour the floor, consequently nothing was done. I went to the current staff and expressed my concern that I would be blamed for this once I moved. Sure enough, after I moved out, the management kept my security deposit stating that I had apparently dropped something causing the damage and there was no record of any of my maintenance requests regarding this. Two months before I left, my plumbing began to suddenly vibrate and hum very loudly, even causing the bathroom faucet to turn on by itself, often in the middle of the night, so that I would have to jump up and turn it off to spare the sleeping neighbors the incredible noise. I told maintenance; they checked it, said they would need a plumber for it, then never did anything about it. Overall, I would not be able to recommend these apartments. Current management is overseeing some renovations, but I can't see them managing the roach infestation or their own lack of professionalism. I would give Steepleway Downs two stars for the sake of the second management team who were professional and caring, but the current office staff, in my opinion, is rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional, plus they took my deposit to pay for their own problem without any regard for the truth. There are a number of apartments within the immediate area that are much nicer at comparable prices; I am truly sorry I did not shop around when I first moved to the area. I strongly advise to think twice about these apartments.
This is the 10th month that I have lived here and to say I am disappointed, is a complete understatement. From day 1, actually 30 minutes prior to arriving here for my first time from Michigan, I was switched to a new apt. Doesn’t sound terrible, right? However, I am in a handicap accessible apt but I AM NOT HANDICAP! To add to that, the carpet was disgusting, crunchy in spots, there was an overwhelming smell of smoke, and the walls/baseboards were filthy. So they clearly shoved me in this unit. Today, however, did it for me! I now have had 3 snakes in my apt within 10 months of living here. I messaged management at 7:36 this morning and heard nothing back from them all day about what they are doing to fix it. It is now 5:09 pm. They finally said they would send someone after I called them. This happened the last time I found a snake as well. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE to me! I am not sure anyone would want to have a snake, or 3, in their home. They have all been small snakes. Regardless, they are snakes. And the mama snake is clearly living somewhere in my apt! However, management's lack of action screams they don’t really care. I am a good tenant. I pay my rent on time, I never complain, I am courteous of others. However, this is not acceptable to me. I would absolutely not recommend anyone to live here.
You can’t live here and own more than one vehicle. So if you have a work vehicle and a personal don’t bother considering this place. I’ve had my car towed here for literally no reason as well. Mistakenly received a notice of violation, cleared it up with the office who emphatically swore my vehicle wouldn’t be towed, only to wake up to it gone the next day. Besides the ongoing warfare with roaches in every unit in our building, it seems like management continues to slide downhill with every new change. I genuinely hope at least one person reads this review and spares themselves the headache that comes from living here. The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that the maintenance are a really great group of people.
Upgraded Exterior, Downgraded Office Staff The girls that were here Simone and Ashley were the best there were at Steepleway Downs and I’ve lived here 3 years enduring 3 mgmt changes! They were courteous, professional, efficient, and very friendly...the residents felt like their family. They got things done! Now there’s this office manager who is a woman who speaks very aggressive most times and could care less about taking care of the residents...she’s working the job for the power and a check it seems! The staff is alike except Adrian...he’s nice! Residents should truly love where they stay and not just be a sign posted on the fence!!
WILL be my last year here. The Roaches are to bad no matter what we did they still came back.. i see pest control about once every 4 months. Now in this below freezing weather with no power no heat there is elderly people here. I get you guys can’t control what the weather does to power lines. But at least send a message out to act like you care about residents and are trying to fix it. Powers been off for 13hrs. But the office has power. While we got food ,milk ,etc.. going bad.
My motorcycle was stolen out of the parking lot. Filed a police report and waited a week to hear back from a manager. I was assured they would work with me on letting me out of my lease since I no longer feel safe leaving my vehicles in the parking lot. Never heard back from her and had to call. Once it was known that I had a large credit on my account they were not so willing to "work with me". It will cost me $2700 to break my lease that only has 3 months remaining. I now lock up my new motorcycle at work till I can get out. I put in a maintenance request to repair the garbage disposal. It was reviewed four days later. Not sure if it will get fixed. I haven't heard any feed back. I also asked that they spray for roaches. With the change of the season I'm killing at least 12 a day. I've put in roach traps with little to no effect. At this point I will call an exterminator myself.
I lived here for two months; WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Upon move in everything was wonderful, renovated unit stone fireplace (overpriced, BUT) BEAUTIFUL. One week after move in my air BREAKS, notified the front office they literally couldn’t care-less. It’s the beginning of AUGUST (Hottest month ever), went THREE weeks without air. It wasn’t until I asked Helen for the property managers number did they ONLY accommodate us with ONE a/c window unit which could ONLY be placed in the masters and be mind you rent is over 1k, I had a two bedroom. I have a preschooler in this unit, no assistance. I contacted the property manager and got nowhere FAST. Aside from the office, let’s talk about this “security” they promise. EVERYONE HAS THE SAME GATE CODE! In my two months of being a tenant I witness countless domestic deputes, someone stole all four of a tenants tires and left him on all four blocks. These apartments are not for families, nor are they from individuals with nice things. They require apartment insurance and now I see why. I have receipts for everything I’ve stated. This place has tenants moving out daily even the temporary agent that has been there for three weeks stated they couldn’t get anyone to stay. This is why. Save yourself $1,500 and find somewhere else! #RobinsonReview
Would give them less stars then that the lady’s in the front office need to be fired they only respect themselves and they pick on their tenants my mom has been living here for years and she never got her ac fixed her heater doesn’t work and there’s mold growing everywhere please save your money and do not move here and you can’t own more then 1 vehicle?
Worst ever apartment complex. Whole place is trash, smells bad, whole bunch of random unemployed people walking around all day looking on someone to plot on. No security measures what so ever... my apartment got broken into BROAD DAYLIGHT and apparently no one saw anything! Even worse the horrible management didnt offer to help me what so ever. I couldnt leave or break my lease. How bad is that. I HIGHLY recommend you do not move here unless you wanna be robbed or car broken into. Oh yeah roaches galore! Everywhere bigger than a quarter size roaches
Do not move here. The units have horrible roach problems. These apartments are cheap for a reason. The office will provide “treatments” every two weeks but these do nothing but agitate the roaches and make the problem worse over the next two weeks until pest control comes again. They provided a more intense treatment upon my request but this did nothing as well. The office staff is friendly but if you want a clean and livable rental look elsewhere. Moving here was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. Multiple electrical issues as well, loud neighbors, and overpriced for the low quality of living they provide.
If your looking for an affordable apartment to get you by this is the right place, that’s if you can stand your neighbors moving your property and throwing trash in front of your apartment, and the front office saying that they are unable to do anything about it. Random people coming to look through your windows and scare your children, not to mention them knocking on your door. Roaches are bad in every apartment and when they do pest control it only makes it worse. Also there is black mold and the power short circuits. Stairs are way too close to the apartment walls to where if people are stomping up and down the stairs it will knock portraits and priceless artifacts down to break. Too many unwelcoming people that made my children uncomfortable.
These apartments are hell on earth the roach problem is out of this world. They have roaches in every inch of the apartment. You can look at the reviews. I’ve lived here for four years and you can’t even use the kitchen unless you want roaches with your food, they come out in all times of the day. They will go on your food on your face when you sleep during every unit of that apartment and there’s always a problem each month whether it will be water electric heat something is always wrong. Overpriced for being cheap don’t recommend at all it’s a scam
My experience was good at first. But I started having problems with assistant manager I explained everything to her with my bank she won’t take my payment for August so she filled for eviction, when I went in there to see if the payment came to her cause my account was updated for August but instead she took the lady behind me, so now it made me two months behind, cause she won’t take my payment for August, so now I have to move in lil time , on top of that my breaker box went out three times , this time it blow out and it’s hot in my apartment n it’s only one technician on call n I have kids , the roaches are bad in here, I won’t anyone to move her.
