Opiniones de Camino Viejo Mexican Restaurant Denison
A wonderful experience to say the least our server went above and beyond to get us exactly what we wanted we made a special request having the chimichangas put shredded brisket inside and let me tell you best chimichanga I've had I recommend you request the same thing if you like chimichangas and they salsa had a nice kick about it The queso wonderful seriously hands down one of my top favorite Mexican spots wish I was closer!
Walked in, ordered, had my food within 10 minutes. Food was excellent. Meat was great. Rice was great. Chips were perfect, salsa was good, they even diced up a serrano and added it for me. The beans weren't to my liking, but that didnt take away from the meal. Will be coming back!
My go to for white queso with brisket and spicy chips. It's filling and not too filling at the r same time. Perfect lunch or early supper. 😘
Stopped in on a Friday night. Dinner time. Like a ghost town. One other table with 2 ladies. The waitress was attentive. Food was hot and fresh. The refried beans weren't very good at all. There was potatoes and vegetables seemingly mixed into everything. Potatoes in the ground beef!?! Otherwise it was good. They do not serve any alcohol.
thus is literally my favorite restaurant. me and my aunt come here every other week. love the staff, they are the best! food is amazing, always on point.
Nice place to grab a bite to eat and read your Bible (if you get there after the lunch rush. Delivered don't steel to their neighbor and had the street blocked most of the day, so me and the wife had a bite to eat. Great meal!
This is the best Mexican food, hands down! From the service to the food, it's the best! It's like the chef genuinely presents his art! This establishment offers an unparalleled Mexican culinary experience. The exceptional quality of both the service and the cuisine is consistently outstanding, reflecting the chef's masterful artistry.
Great little gem off main street in downtown Sherman. Atmosphere was cozy and quiet. Service was great in this family owned restaurant. The Blanco queso with brisket- outstanding with the warm seasoned chips it's served with! I enjoyed the tortilla soup which was savory and chicken full of veggies, rice and chicken. My dinner mate enjoyed the brisket tacos served with rice and beans. Portions were ample for the reasonable pricing. The restaurant sported 3 large televisions if you enjoy watching a sporting event without patrons getting rowdy from alcoholic beverages. This restaurant does not serve alcoholic beverages.
I love it all. Shout out to the man working back stage in the kitchen. When I came in, he was a one man army, and the food was great! I will definitely be coming back, and soon! Thank you for the food!
Small and quite authentic place. Great for people who need a calmer environment. The salsa was amazing. Entrees were great. Only complaint is my beans had a little bit too much pepper but when mixed with the rice and a little salsa it blended nicely.
Me and the Hubs stopped in for lunch while in the area. Hands down the best steak tacos I've ever had! I normally end up getting chicken tacos in a new place, for fear of the steak being tough or full of fat. We both were super happy with our meal! The atmosphere was friendly and not super loud.
First time eating in downtown Sherman, we walked here from our AirBnB. Saw a ton of locals picking up food to go which seemed like a great sign and it didn’t disappoint! We ordered our favorites-carnita tacos for me and chicken tomatillo for my friend. It was great and the sides were also fantastic. Kind of spicy for me but I’m a lightweight. Just fyi it’s BYOB. enjoy!
Great little authentic traditional Mexican food restaurant. I Love the decor. There are TV's mounted to the walls, playing various sports events. It's hidden away, off Houston Street, down from the Sherman Grayson County Courthouse and government building.. The service was excellent. The server made sure we had what we needed. Cosy smaller location with mostly booths around the walls. The food had large portions and was really good. Street 3 hour parking. There may have been a close by parking lot but we did not utilize it.
Food and service was excellent 👍. I really enjoyed the chips and salsa. I was amazed at how great the freshly prepared guacamole 🥑 was. I ate the Enchiladas del Rancho. It was delicious. Update: Had the Chimichanga Mexicana today. It was excellent. Guacamole was prepared as deliciously as every other time I've gotten it.
YUM!! We stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant looking for some street tacos, & they did not disappoint!! I had the carnitas tacos & enchiladas as part of the “create your own plate” option. The better half ordered the brisket enchilada plate, and we had the ceviche as an appetizer. No negative comments here! We are stuffed from trying to indulge every last bit! The vibe & atmosphere in the place was amazing, loved the music! TVs everywhere! & lastly the price was great! 10 out of 10 Recommen!!
I'm going to be completely honest here, we love this place, excellent food but tonight.... We got there at 8:20 having no idea they closed at 9:00 on a Friday night. The moment we sat down we felt so rushed. " Are y'all gonna want appetizers or y'all good?" We already knew we was going to have to eat fast..10 till 9 and they shut off all the TV's and the music. My wife ordered the Quesadilla los cabos. ( See photos below) And when we got the check I mentioned for price difference reasons only, we didn't send back.I was told if there was an error , sorry. Read the highlighted menu and photo Below. Not an error it reads plain and detailed. Our little get a way spot won't ever be the same... 😔 Fully Disappointed.
Looking for a place to start having lunch after church, my wife and I stopped by Sunday. Staff was friendly, but that was about where the good things started and stopped. The booths are incredibly tight. I'm not a huge man by any means, but my foot got stuck trying to get into the booth with my legs and feet under the table. Service was friendly, but extremely slow. My wife had the quesadilla, while I had a three combo with a taco, tamale and another item. The food had absolutely NO taste. I thought maybe I had concocted COVID and lost my taste, but my wife said hers was the same. I guess the positive was that it didn't taste bad, because it had no taste. Zero, nada, none. I don't know if I've ever had food with NO taste, but this was it. I could not recommend this to friends. Guess we'll still be looking for our "after church" eatery.
