Hands down my go to chinese restaurant when i'm craving sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice. The thing that makes Hunan Wok 5 different from every other chinese place, is that it is family run, and they put so much effort to make sure everything is cooked fresh to order. Delicious food and wonderful family owned business.
Excellent service constantly! The menu has much to offer at just the " right price". #1 place when in the mood for a taste lover's choice especially on a week day night.
Love the crab rangoon!! They're huge, and you get like 8 for $6. It's the only thing I ever get, but my husband and son have never ordered anything they didn't like. We travel from Meriden just for the crab rangoon though!!
Hunan Wok is our favorite restaurant for take out. The food is always hot, service is exceptional and very delicious! We always recommend Hunan Wok.
Great little hometown Chinese food spot. Family owned and operated. They are always really friendly and welcoming. Meals are always tasty and fresh. Highly recommend for quick dinner with no fuss and fair prices.
They are always reliable for good food at a good price and in generous portions. My wife and I always find one entree serves for two meals for two people. We are light eaters. Luncheon specials are also good. Favorite dishes are Hunan Chicken, Mushu Pork, and, for lunch specials, Sesame Chicken with Hot and Sour soup.
Their handmade steamed dumplings are the BEST i’ve ever had! The veggie lo mein and egg rolls are also great! However their hot and sour soup is more vinegar-y, it’s still pretty good. Each restaurante has certain dishes that are better than others, so no need to knock-it until you try it. The workers are very nice and did a great job fixing a past mistake.
This restaurant is a long time staple in Portland and has the best Chinese take out in town. The service is good and is usually quite fast. Keep in mind this is purely a take out restaurant since they eliminated any indoor dining space they had aside from a single small table.
Always been really good, and will definitely order again. That said, something went wrong with my general tso chicken this evening. I ordered it the usual way, medium heat. However what I was delivered is soo over the top sweet I can't eat it. Zero heat, all sweet. I can't find a single chilli pepper in it anywhere. Literally crunching sugar granulates in my teeth. As if someone just poured cups of sugar into it. Such a let down from the normally excellent dish that I'm used to.
I love coming here.. just over the Portland bridge..great food . I ALWAYS order the beef and broccoli with garlic sauce..yum.. and the lady who takes your order ... she's so nice.. I've been coming here for years and I highly recommend them... and..they give you more than 1 fortune cookie..lol
This is 1 of our fave Chinese takeout restaurant. Their food is always freshly made, pipping hot & delicious. I ordered my fave sesame chicken & egg drop soup. Perfect for the Fall weather.
Ordered takeout for dinner, and it was perfect. The food was hot, flavorful, and the order was ready on time.
I ordered the sesame chicken combo and it was very good. Egg roll was crispy, tasty and not too greasy. Chicken and rice was also tasty. I’ll be ordering from here again.
Food was excellent didn't even know there a Chinese place in Portland. They need new l.e.d sign out there. Little outdated inside but food was delicious. Overall good experience 4 stars due to the sign not being bright.
I have only done take out and.for a quick in and out spot really good so far tried them 3 times the wierd aluminun tv dinner type pans they use i actually love keeps food warm and sauces from getting into rice and sogging out and really good wings
Good food; warm, fresh, and crispy where applicable. Dessert was absolutely perfect!
I used to love this place but recently they switched to a much cheaper chicken for thier general tsoas and a much cheaper pork and sauce for the boneless spare ribs . It tastes like they added a ton of sugar to the sauce to stretch it out. The sauce really runs the whole experience. Until I find out that they switch back I will no longer be going there .
Ordered the egg foo young combo meal, it was terrible ! The rice was dry and tasted old. It used to be good years ago, not sure what happened...
This place is garbage. They gave my food to the wrong person then when he came back they proceed to give my $50 order to home for free and rush make his and skip me. Waited over 25 mins for them to restart it when they said it would go right in. Then proceeded to skip me 8 more times while I stood for over an hour. The food sucked and they service was worst. I will never go back and actively advocate against wasting money here.
Food has gone way down hill. So far downhill it’s in the dirt and we’ve picked up bugs in our food now. Avoid ant all costs.
Absolutely the worst service and food from a Chinese restaurant ever. Insides of shrimp toast were 100% raw. Orange chicken was over deep-fried and chicken was stringy and hard to chew. Returned with food to restaurant next morning and was treated so extremely rude by the woman employee, at first refused to refund, took one of the shrimp toast opened it and claim they always are served that way. Started to yell at me at which point I told her I would make a call to the health department and show them the raw food, she immediately refunded the money I will never go here again nor recommend it to anyone I have never been here before saw it online. NO
