Excellent place to go as they had a Valentine's Day menu with 2-courses and dessert. The wait to be seated was less than 5 minutes. The wait for the meal was much, much longer. But due to the reasonable price, friendly service, and great-tasting food hard to take a star away for that issue. Highly recommended.
What a great place! We were happy that they chose to do takeout earlier in the crisis.i commend them for moving to the window approach so as to minimize contact and maximize safety. :Great food and good drinks at a superior price point - and excellent service to boot.
Exactly what you want in an Irish Bar. No frills, old school. This is a beer and whiskey kind of place, don't go expecting fancy. Treat the bartenders well and they'll do the same - again, don't sit at the bar looking at the menu for 20 minutes and then try to get a blood orange cosmo. Sit down, order a Guinness, and you're golden.
Had a wonderful time at le cheile I am a repeat customer and highly recommend. I’ve gotten to know many of the servers but I love when Anna is my server because she is very attentive and positive to talk to.
Their fish and chips are the best! I love their fish and chips and house lager. The service and prices are very good. I like the live music on Saturday’s . This is a cosy neighborhood bar. Keep up the good work!
We go to Le Cheile several times a week. Occasionally we go elsewhere in the neighborhood, but we usually end up regretting it. Only at Le Cheile is our day brightened by the kind and curteous waitstaff, always attentive without being pushy, we know that we are being taken care of. We hate to play favorites but Anna is the best! Whenever Anna is here we buy more drinks and eat more food, she makes the best reccommendations and is great at reading the mood at our table. At the same time as we love Anna, we could not speak more highly of everyone who works here: Anna, Forist and Lizzy are the best.
The sandwiches were delicious! We had the chicken sandwich and the steak sandwich with the garlic fries. Everything was hot and fresh. The waitress was amazing and friendly.
Great food, quality affordable drinks and impeccable service with McKenna and because of her, I'll be back. She rocked the socks off that place, being short handed and everyone sitting outside on a beautiful day. She was the waitress, host & bartender and made it look easy, NEVER missing a beat. Now that's some 5star ⭐ service! ROCK ON MCKENNA!! Much love 💘 and see you soon.
Great Irish food with something for everybody One of my favorite spots when I lived here. They have a vegan sandwich but they also have several dishes that can be made veggie/vegan. Awesome staff and always fun stuff going on.
I met a knitting group here. These girls all live in the neighborhood except me. I commuted from Bayonne and it is very easy. The A train stops at 181st street and it was a half block walk to the restaurant. We sat at an outside booth facing the bridge; the most glorious pink sunset! Anyway, the food selections are very good, and I I understand that they have great Irish winter food selections too. My loaded hamburger was grilled perfectly and I was able to substitute salad for the french fries. We all had dinner and drinks and received separate checks which made everything easier. By the way, the group spoke highly of the Russian bakery, "Moscow on the Hudson." So, you can get dessert on your way home if it is not too late in the evening! It looks like an interesting neighborhood to explore but wear hiking sandals. The streets are steep! хорошее здоровье khorosheye zdorov'ye
Le Chéile is welcoming to all people. From live Irish music to cover bands, karaoke to drag shows, watch parties to private events— they do it all. Most importantly the people that work there keep us coming back. Todas las personas son bienvenidas y muchos miembros del personal hablan español.
One of my favorite neighborhood spots. Moderately to high priced dinner that's totally worth the price for the quality and portion size. Decent drink selection, as long as they don't have to mix more than a couple ingredients. Decor differs between up the upstairs, downstairs and bar area but all are great for small groups or a cozy date night. Has live music and a brunch menu. Enjoy
Last night, there were four of us for dinner, plus a toddler, and the staff couldn't be any more amazing and kind. They brought the toddler's dinner out first, which we didn't even ask for (but was such a good move), and our waiter was attentive but unobtrusive. It's a wonderful space that offers a livelier bar area and a dining area upstairs that allows you to have a conversation and not scream at each other. It's perfect. The food is great--though they were out of the bangers and mash (fair play: it was Thursday, they're on special).
One of my favorite bars uptown! I frequent wing night on Mondays (unbelievable deal!!) and I honestly feel like the wings get better every time. The staff is super cool and friendly, and everything is very affordable! There is always a nightly special on food and/or drinks, so it’s a great place to go any night of the week!
LOVE this place! I've been coming here for about 5 years now and the food is always delicious, drinks are great and service is spot on. They have a good selection of beer (bottle and draft) and some good house wines as well. It's a cozy, casual environment and they don't seem to have a high employee turnover so you'll always seem some familiar faces which is nice.
Friendly neighborhood bar. Family friendly with good food. Great wings and the entrees are tasty. First time back since covid but will be back soon.
Great food, always fresh. The beer list is solid and the atmosphere is casual. This place is the cure for the typical overcrowded NYC restaurant. Try the rustic chicken, it's a crowd favorite. They cover the table with paper and put out a jar of crayons. They hang some of the table art around the restaurant.
A very fun environment. Staff is always present and welcoming. I have eaten here and had drinks.. Good prices and a good selection of foods and drinks . Their blood and white sausage is a delicious must try .
The food is good, and very reasonably priced. a full bar with stools downstairs with all kinds of cool folks, a quieter dining area up stairs. You get crayons to draw on the papers the food come on, and if you're good, they might hang it on the walls. This is a good place to hang out at a bar, eat out, or have a talk.
This place is a good, standard Irish bar, serving all the menu items you expect. I had the lamb burger and several drinks. The burger was absolutely flavourful and cooked perfectly. It was cooked medium rare and seasoned well to bring out the flavour of the lamb. The drinks were also made well, not watered down. The prices were fair but approaching the higher end, for an Irish bar and for the neighbourhood. The server was very helpful and friendly. The ambiance was cozy, the music not loud which is great for when you actually want to have a conversation with people at your table. I do recommend this spot.
This is a great everyday bar to go to. They have fantastic drink specials all days of the week. I can't complain about any of the food, but I would say that some of it is a bit plain. I've had success with the Irish food selections that they have, but some of their standard bar food is lacking a little bit. How does a burger not come with a single topping? I still make my way to this place a couple times a month though.
It's a fun Irish pub with a great atmosphere. They often host events like comedy or live music. The vibe is great. The bathrooms are about as clean as you'll find in a NY bar. The food is okay but worth it for the vibe. On the menu, it says the cheesesticks are the best in the world, and they're not. But the curry is delicious.
My family has been getting together at Le Cheile for years. Recently we hosted a surprise party for my parents there and it was a great event. It was extremely easy to coordinate, the staff was friendly, it was a great space, and the food was great as always! We included meat and vegetarian options for the guests. And then we were able to bring the party downstairs into the early hours! Really loved our experience there and will continue coming back for drinks, meals, and meet ups!
Live music (that's actually good) a couple of times a month. A decent cider (some on tap, though not on their menu - tip: actually go into the bar to see what they have). Food is variable from medium to excellent. Atmosphere is wonderful. Plenty of (covered) outside seating (in individual booths) is available. Lovely upstairs too.
Have met friends here on visits to the city for over a decade. Great food, neat space, excellent Guinness! Delicious shepherds pie.
Very consistent uptown pub. No frills, not overly priced, some decent specials that rotate, basic pub food along with Irish fare. Rarely empty which in my mind means they do a lot right for a lot of people. Shot and beer specials are good. No complaints over the last year plus going. Will continue to frequent.
I absolutely loved my time at Le Cheile. We had the most amazing waitress, Anna, who made us feel so welcomed and attended to. We can’t wait to come back, and hope we get to see Anna again!
Came here for my wife's birthday. Reservations for a large group are difficult in Washington Heights, obviously, but Le Cheile was able to accommodate us in their upstairs space. We had a lovely time: the food was excellent and we were well taken care of.
Great local bar, with solid bar food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Just the spot you want when gathering with friends.
A lovely place to sit outside and enjoy a happy hour glass of wine that costs $5. Lovely service. Tasty salad and garlic fries.
Walking by randomly stopped to grab a quick bite with a friend, outdoor seating was perfect, veggie burger (chickpea) burger and sweet potato fries, both delicious and fresh! Will visit again to try other menu options!
Love the veggie chilli!! The place has shabby chic and cozy vibes. At the top floor, depending on the seating, you can get a direct view of GW bridge (looks great at night). Have not been there in covid, but have placemats of parchment and give you crayons. You can let your inner artist out. They even use the good eclectic ones as decor.
Stopped in while touring the area at 1:00pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Bar was recommended by Sgt. Rivera of NYPD a few blocks away. Glad he told us to try the mozzarella sticks - yum! Nice, old world, two story bar with local vibes - away from all the tourism. George Washington Bridge is a short walk away. Can’t wait to visit this area again soon and hit bar up at night.
First time here and I live right in the neighborhood.. I ordered the delicious Irish battered fish and chips and a Arugula salad with grilled chicken, cucumbers, avocado with green peppers. So good! I'm definitely returning Total five stars here. Wonderful service. Friendly staff. A pleasant neighborhood spot to just chill and have a nice dinner and drinks
The love of my life brought me here for a birthday dinner date October 30, 2021! We had a phenomenal waiter, Forrest! He was just wonderfully personable and helpful. The food and drinks were delicious and we just had a blast. We sat outside and loved it. It was beautifully decorated and the heaters were on. Everything was just perfect! Birthday Dinner in Washington Heights >>> We had brussel sprouts as an appetizer. I had a delicious vegan burger and my guy had a lamb burger. Our drinks were a strawberry 🍓 margarita and a warm spiced liquor! Everything was A-1! Make sure you ask for Forrest! ⭐
Every dollar was worth coming here. I came for a comedy show originally with an intention to go to a restaurant beforehand, but I was super late, so I ended up eating here. I was so surprised that they had bruschetta and it was absolutely exquisite. The comedy show is great and the people around me were so kind and full of laughter!
The food is fiiiiiiire, get the Mac and cheese wow! Guinness 👌🏼. Was here for New Years, great time, complementary Prosecco, good bar.
A beloved neighborhood favorite with wonderful pub dishes. We chose to rent out the upstairs space for a wedding party and couldn't have been more delighted with our choice. Jenn made everything super easy for us in terms of locking in a date, menu, and pricing. On the day of, she kept everything running smoothly. During an impromptu speech she and the team prepared a champagne toast. She even helped us cut and distribute cake when the time came. In addition to Jenn, her team, Alexis, Forest, and Daniella, made sure our guests had all the food and drinks they needed. We had such a magical night thanks to their efforts. We cannot wait to come back again and again with our friends and family.
I had the cornbeef & cabbage. The beef was excellent. Mash potatoes also good. The cabbage with carrots was too salty and didn't allow the natural sweetness to come through. 9/3/23 I've been back and had the burger w/bacon & chesse, fries&salad with a Pacifio draft all I enjoyed very much.
Ever since the new Chef came in, the food is a little less quality. But if it's your first time there, it's still pretty good too. Every table has paper and crayons on it for you, so you can draw whatever your heart desires. If it's cool, they'll hang it up on the walls. They've got a lot of those past drawings in the walls. The downstairs is more of a bar and kind of social comment in the upstairs is very cozy and quiet.
Stopped to have some cider and their delicious Mac and Cheese! Service is always timely and pleasant. We sat outside because we went with our dog and the three of us enjoyed watching the people go by.
Best Guinness in the city for sure. Mozz sticks were great but marinara sauce was not. Fish and chips good but tartar sauce was very watery. Friend got chicken plate with brussel sprouts (they were not trimmed) and mashed potatoes (gravy was broken for sure) and said it was horrible. chicken sandwhich ok. I wouldn’t get food here again but liked the bar.
Great bar. Reminds me of all the pubs I visited in the UK. It was crowded on a Friday night but service at the bar was excellent. Food came a touch slow but the kitchen was bustling and the fries were super French and crispy. Also a lot of vegetarian options as far as dinner so I'll definitely be back soon! Happy hour is 4-7. Late night kitchen Fri-Sat. Brunch on weekends.
Good neighborhood spot. A little overpriced for what it is but its a nice easy place to go to. I see it like a diner but and my husband says "its bar food". Last week my husband had the fish and chips $17 it was just okay. The fish was soggy not crispy and I had the lamb burger with salad $17 and again it was edible but nothing special. We were still hungry so then we ordered chicken wings and they were fine. Service was good. Will return.
This is simple pub food in what feels like a neighborhood joint, so if you don't expect anything fancy you won't be disappointed. The staff is very accommodating. The beers are good, and there was both a veggie and a vegan burger option which is nice for a pub. Tried the veggie burger, which is unlike any I've ever had -- it's a veggie mashed patty that's breaded and fried then topped with avocado! Probably not healthy, but delicious!
On a whim, I stopped in as I've always been curious passing by. Very pleased with my meal. Waitstaff was very helpful. I had the Guinness and fish & chips. The chips were standard fries, so on the OK side. The star was the fish, as it should be. Great cook here: juicy, flaky and well seasoned batter. The tarter sauce really helped give it a great complete bite, although the fish can stand on its own just fine. One of the better fish & chips I've had in a while. Recommended.
Great food and drinks. Long wait time for entree. I was told that there was a kitchen mix-up. I ordered the entrée first, then my appetizer. The appetizers arrived. My guest's entrée crab burger arrived. But not my crab lobster ravioli. The table that was seated ten minutes after us steak sandwiches arrived before the waiter decided to ask if everything was OK. Then I informed him of my missing entrée. To which he then checked and inputted my order, and I had to watch my guest eat while I waited ten minutes for my food.
Dropped in here for a bite while waiting for a tow after my truck broke down on the GW bridge entrance. Walked in and felt very cozy & quaint. I’m loving the bar setup & vibes. Got the corned beef hash for $18, add Mimosa for $2 more. Happy hour is $5 wines. After 2 drinks I’m really starting to like this place. Finished the meal with a slice of carrot cake. My only complaint is that the corned beef hash was overly greasy, I’m talking cholesterol & artery clogging grease. A bit risqué? 😅😅
Not a bad little Irish pub. The food is fine, the beers are little warm to be honest, but the inside is cozy, nice, and it’s a fun spot to hang out and have some appetizers. Not a bad spot, and I might come back at some point. One note, for larger groups (we were 5), they do not split the bill.
Le Cheile has long been a cornerstone of the neighborhood—a warm, welcoming spot that helped shape the area’s identity. Though it’s been a while since my last visit, I still hold a deep fondness for its tasty food, spacious layout, and the added bonus of being just a short walk from the George Washington Bridge view. Since I haven’t been recently, I can’t speak to the current service. But during my many visits in the past, the staff—especially during the Joey, Chris, Helen, and Amanda era—was always friendly and close-knit. Service could be a bit slow at times, more out of friendly chatter than inefficiency, but overall it added to the charm.
This is a nice and cozy place in the Heights. Food is good but lacks imagination. The menu could be improved by including the type of dishes which create the impressions that bring clients back for more. Place needs improvement with ambiance and customer service. It has the potential to be better. It all depends on the vision of the management. My hunch tells me that someone is tired of doing the same thing for quite a while.....
The food was great. Coloring on the table covering was fun. Service was terrible. Water pitcher was empty the majority of the meal and we had to wait for over twenty minutes to get someone to bring us the check. They weren't willing to make simple substitutions in my meal. No wait.
I've eaten here a few times and loved it in the past. However I ordered food for pickup a couple of weeks ago and the food was sent out for delivery instead. When we eventually got the food, the Bangers & Mash had no gravy, the Fish & Chips were cold and the Mac & Cheese just tasted like warm tangy cream. Not happy.
The food didn't blow me away but it was pretty decent. The service was excellent. Our waitress appeared to be the only one working but was able to hit every table multiple times and remain friendly and helpful the entire time.
The brunch and atmosphere was pretty chill for a Sunday afternoon, but the service seemed to have downgraded a little bit. We ordered burgers and no condiments came nor simple lettuce and tomatoes. Then when paying the bill, they forgot to bring my credit card back from the cashier. I think new waiters need training and better attention to details.
$18 for mostly potato on a water based “shepherds” pie (it’s really a cottage pie) is crazy, but they pull a good Guinness and the service is great. That back kitchen can use some work for sure
Will not being coming back. 1. The server mentioned we could have 1/2 fries 1/2 salad as our side and then slapped an extra $2 on the bill for everyone who ordered that without mentioning that there would be an extra cost. 2. The "salad" was just wilted greens 3. I was seated next to a window with a draft and was freezing the entire time. 3. When the server asked us if we were ready to order and we had responded yes, she replied by saying that she had a lot to do and that we couldn't be "dilly dallying." Otherwise the food was just alright. The atmosphere was cute however.
Guys I’ve been a die hard Le Chéile girlie for over a decade… it pains me to say that the food ain’t it anymore. Idk what happened, but the food game has to be stepped up. Or maybe I just keep ordering the wrong thing.
Still a fun neighborhood pub with good beer selections and helpful staff. Sometimes live music which is appreciated. But the quality of the food is not what it was, yet the prices are still on the high side. Some of the old favorites are no longer on the menu.
Good portion size, tasty food and good happy hour. But unfortunately the volume of flies around the outside seating makes the experience not so great. If management could do something about this ( maybe some sort of insect repelling plants or natural repellant) I’d give this spot 4.5 stars!
Meh. Service was dreadful, but I just think they're understaffed. We got our table settings after we got our entrees. Wings were standard and drenched in sauce. Great real iced tea, however. Got some beef anad mashed potato dish. Mashed was great, but beef wasn't very hearty and rather salty. Disappointing. Fish and chips rather standard. For the area, which lacks quality restaurants and choices, I guess they are okay, but nothing special.
Good food. The short male bartender with glasses has an abrasive personality.
Good atmosphere and live music. Good selection of beer. Don’t come for the food. The menu has depth — I ordered the lamb burger and a friend ordered tilapia. However, I did not find the food to be good at all. It wasn’t bad, but the food was just so incredibly plain and all dishes looked like they had been hurriedly put together.
Updating 5/10/25 portions have shrunk and the price has gone up. The Mac and cheese used to be my favorite thing to buy here but the portion is about 2 to 3 spoonfuls of Mac and cheese now and the price went up. The wait staff is the best thing about this place. But unfortunately I will not be going back. Updating my review as of 11/2/24 ordered ahead on grubhub arrived when the bar said to arrive to pickup at 6:55 pm (placed order @ 6:25pm) waited until 7:25 pm to finally get my food. This is unacceptable. If I was seated you mean to tell me I would've waited 1 hour to be served? I understand that kitchens can get overwhelmed so in that situation shut off delivery pickup options until you get it under control. It's 100% an option any restaurant has but greed over rules
Service is good. The cocktails are so-so. A bit watery and not much choice. I possibly miss the point of this place. Being from out of the country, I met a local friend there and we talked, ate and drank. It was fun. We ordered many of the small starter portions as we both are watching what we eat. The food was ok. It should have been great as it was just vegetables. But it came burnt. Should not have been served. And I should have returned the portions. But I wanted to concentrate on my friend and not on teaching them how to serve food. Yes, I would go there again. Because the atmosphere is very pleasant and the basic food is very fresh. And next time I would know what drinks to order (beer or Vodka and soda with lemon and very little ice) and would return the food if it isn't good.
did ownership change or is delivery quality subpar to sit in? ive been here before and had the best mac and cheese a couple years ago, now i ordered and its water cheese sauce on elbows and some last minute jalapenos chopped on top. I also ordered the grilled mushrooms which are supposed to come with goat cheese and did not bring, im disappointed
This quaint restaurant was one of the stars of the neighborhood when I lived in Washington Heights ten years ago. Sadly, it appears they lost some of their charm. Service was very slow, I wonder whether they had one person serving the front and all the tables. The food quality was variable: eggs were reasonable, everything else was mediocre or below (for example, the roasted beets ended up in the trash). Overall, the experience was a disappointment, and I doubt we will ever visit again.
I ordered a take out today. Grilled Salmon. I ordered it medium rare. It came medium well. I called and they RE-did the dish, this time hardly cooked. I spent $27 with tip and didn’t eat it. Quality of fish is inferior and maybe they changed the cook. Never again! And I am a very long time customer.
Ive visited Cheile in the past and have had good experiences. Unfortunately, this time was not that time... I ordered a lamb burger and was not asked how I wanted it cooked. Burger came out practically raw! 🤨 I asked to return burger and order something else. Waiter took burger but never came back to take second order. I left today truly disappointed with Cheile and not sure if I will return.
Just had brunch here. Kids Mac and cheese was penne and not really mac and cheese (if I had to guess it was more of an on the spot improvised roux). My grilled chicken sandwich was dry, burnt, and smaller than the last time I ate here. The salad the accompanied it was exclusively wilted arugula. Disappointing.
So yesterday, Christmas Day a friend and I went for an early dinner at Le Cheile. I knew something was wrong when the staff person at the door asked me “Is there something you want here?” I ignored the slight & gave him a pass as I realized English was not his first language. I replied that I wanted a table for 2. He directed me to a table. I waited for my friend. When she arrived (an elderly white woman) he came over with the menus My friend ordered then I ordered. I noticed that the staff person had his back turned to me while taking her order. When it was my turn he did a brief but not complete turn toward me. Never made eye contact. When my friend requested desert I said I’d like desert ….but he was gone. My friend jokingly replied “ guess you don’t merit desert”. The meal was mediocre and presentation was poor especially it being a holiday. My friends plate looked like dog food with slices of turkey. I knew we overstayed our welcome when a young server came over and asked if we needed anything. When we said no she put the check in front of my friend. She never acknowledged me even though I was holding up my AMEX card My point is that the staff treated my whitebfriend deferentially but ignored me. Totally. But no worries. They won’t have a chance to do it again
Completely disappointed by the food... It was a take-out order but I don't think that this was what went wrong about our order, since we live so close to the restaurant.. We ordered fish & chips, which everything was soggy and was lacking of seasoning, the fries were almost burned the Mac and cheese was completely dry and seemed reheated and a mixed green salad which was also very basic... We spend $58 and we stayed hungry...! Not cool at all... Won't order again.
The food was never amazing but it was a decent place to hang with a good vibe. Yesterday I walked in with a friend and we stood at the entrance for about 5 mins with no one even flinching our way. We asked the bartender if we needed to wait to be seated he said yes as long as we had our vaccine cards and proceeded to continue to ignore us again as if we weren’t standing there. We promptly left as you can imagine why we were ignored coming in. Will not be going here again.
I really wanted to like this place since the reviews are wonderful. I ordered their cod and chicken sandwich... and it was awful so bad no homemade tartar sauce just a bunch of onions and the fish was so dry I couldn't even eat it. I had called in advanced and asked for ketchup please for the fries since I'm at work... BUT not even a napkin was sent let along a side of ketchup... after spending almost $50 on two sandwiches bc I tip at a 20% I have to say that was such a waste of money :( ... P.S the fries are dry and tasteless...
I came to this place together with a friend. We had 2x2 cocktails. When I was making a payment I was asked if I’m alright to pay $XX for cocktails I ordered. During the payment I noticed that in my receipt an additional cocktail was added. When I notified the personnel, I can’t say I felt they seemed surprised. Not accusing anyone, but I got a perception of getting scammed. Didnt like the experience
I was shocked by the unprofessionalism I experienced at this establishment. My girlfriend and I were at the bar when an employee (Short red head) without any justification, accused me of making them feel unsafe. I was immediately asked to leave After I had already paid my tab and was preparing to leave, this same employee approached me to tell me I wasn’t allowed back. This accusation was completely unfounded The way this entire situation was handled—without any communication or fair treatment—was both embarrassing and unacceptable. I understand the need to maintain a safe environment, but there was no attempt to verify the claims, hear my side, or handle the situation professionally. For an industry that thrives on customer service and fairness, this kind of defamatory behavior is shocking. I left deeply disappointed and will not be returning.
One word, Shame, if I would be one of the waitresses who "served" us during this Labor Day I would be embarrassed and feel very bad, but they didn't seem to care. Today we brought our friend to treat him for his birthday to our favorite restaurant that we always enjoyed. Our 2 year old daughter was with us. We were one of the first tables to seat inside, there was no menu brought to us, I had to grab it myself, we waited 10 min for high chair. We were very patient, we saw restaurant got crowded after we came, so we knew kitchen and our waitress are working hard to get all the orders, however after an hour of waiting, we saw everybody who came after us getting orders but we still were waiting. At this point my toddler started to cry for food pointing at others peoples plates. I tried to give them chance to fix the situation, we came few times to ask about our food and wondering why we are not getting it although people who came after us already eating. Our waitress was busy mixing drinks at the bar and seemed to be bothered that we are keep asking, she gave excuses that probably because our order is bigger it's still in making, but that wasn't true, we were table of 3+ baby versus table of 5 people came after us and already eating. I asked to at least bring our baby food so she won't cry, they said sure, after that, 20 min passed and they brought food to 3 more tables, but they couldn't make grilled cheese for our baby. We had to leave when we were told again to wait 5 more min, again, waitress said she doesn't know what to say and all we can do is wait, she didn't care and wasn't apologetic. This was a birthday celebration for our friend and it was our go to place before this incident. I once saw something like that happened there before with another table, people left because their brunch food was still not out after an hour. Now this happened to us and of course we won't be coming back. If I would be an owner I would definitely look into this situation, this is not the first time, who knows how many people had similar experience and decided to take their business somewhere else. Again it's a shame, we loved the place, but this disrespectful and unprofessional attitude we experienced from staff today made it impossible for us, as well as our friends and their families to come back.
Very rude service. Will not go back. Shame, because I used to like the place and some of the servers seemed nice...
I was very disappointed. Worst pub food I’ve ever had and I’ve had lots of pub food. After waiting 15 minutes to be served we finally got drinks. I had a $6 beer which was good but then our food was awful. I had fish and chips and my boyfriend had the steak sandwich and both were supper soggy and bland. Such a disappointment. How do you screw up pub food? Plus our silverware was covered in stuff I attached a picture.
The Worst Steak and Eggs I’ve Ever Had I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was beyond disappointing. I ordered the steak and eggs expecting a classic, satisfying meal—but what I got was barely edible. The steak was overcooked, dry, and oddly rubbery.
Tonight's visit to La Cheile was unfortunately less than satisfactory. From the moment we entered, the service was lacking. Our waiter seemed inattentive, walking away before I could even finish ordering, and failing to confirm if we needed anything else. To add to the frustration, our food order was completely mishandled. Not only did we receive an extra order that we had to send back, but when our food finally arrived, my lamb burger was served raw. Upon bringing this to the staff's attention, it turned out our entire order was wrong. We requested to speak with the manager to address the issues, only to be informed they weren't available that day. While the correct order was eventually brought to our table, the overall experience left us with little appetite and a desire to leave as soon as possible. Additionally, the lack of transparency regarding the happy hour special, which I only noticed due to the oversight with my drink order, was disappointing. The drink menu was hidden behind table items, making it difficult to discover. In the end, we opted to take our leftovers to go, feeling unsatisfied and disheartened by the experience. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively to improve their service and overall dining experience.
Le Cheile has fallen off since 2023. Warm beer, Bad food, and Hit-or-Miss service. Really would like to see a new business (with new ideas) take over.
