The quality of the ingredients at this location are superb. They mainly specialize in sashimi and nigiri, so if you're looking for high quality sushi this is the place to go. Atmosphere is quaint, feels very much like you're "in the know" since this is a small establishment, but leaves a bit to be desired in the decorations; almost a bit bare. That being said the food absolutely makes up for that and keeps us coming back.

Found our new sushi spot. Fish is absolutely top quality. This is not your typical American sushi place, it’s more traditional Tokyo sushi. Simple menu, no crazy rolls. Servers were very attentive and sweet.

Excellent fish! If looking for crazy rolls with lots of sauces this is not your place. If you just want excellent fish you're in the right place. Only a handful of tables and seats at the sushi bar so reservations are suggested.

The fish quality and preparation is excellent; the service is too. Sushi chef is very good. Small but good selection. Edamame was served cold without salt. They did heat it up for me and provide sea salt upon request.

Still remains the best sushi in Orange County. Unparalleled freshness and the service couldn’t be better. Been going for more than 10 years now for very good reason. Shin treats you like family when you sit at his bar and has great recommendations if you are new or looking to try something new.

This is the best sushi in Orange County and has been for 25 years! Shin is the owner and cuts all of his sushi himself. Very traditional sushi bar but with very large pieces of fish. Our family has been coming here for 25 years and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Fresh, expertly crafted and just delicious!! We love Shin!

4.5 stars. A bit pricy and the hours are a bit odd but have always left full and happy. The hospitality is amazing and each roll or dish is hand prepared with care. The hand rolls are huge - beware when ordering as they are quite filling (and delicious!). Cucumber salad is refreshing and the yellowtail and tuna are incredibly fresh and light. Daily specials are “special dishes” not necessarily specials of the day (price wise). Huge lot shared with other retailers but this location is off to itself with ample parking.

A very pleasant little place. The staff is wonderful. The sushi is very good-not as high quality as in several super-sushi places in Newport Beach, but at a much more reasonable price.

I love this restaurant, they have amazing quality and actually relatively big portion sizes for the price but to pay $18 for a cucumber salad with crab and have it be smaller than life itself really really really upset me, as a return customer.
