Great place to be for food and atmosphere and the greatest and nicest servers including Pablo the manager who always takes the best care of us! We will certainly be back again

This might be the best kept secret in Sherman Oaks. We decided to come in for national taco day, where you get a free taco with any purchase after 3 pm. It was also happy hour, so I ordered a margarita and flautas off the happy hour menu (only available in the cantina, which is a bit loud). For the tacos, you get a ticket and then go to the taco bar in the back to pick your meat and fillings, and get beans and corn on the side! Everything was pretty tasty, and the price could not be beat. Even if we didn't get the two free tacos, it would only be $3 more per taco on Tuesdays. We will definitely be back.

Hands down, the best Sunday brunch in town! You simply don’t get a better brunch—or a better bartender—than Rudy. He absolutely rocks it behind the bar, making you feel right at home the second you walk in. His service is top-notch, his personality is unforgettable, and he truly knows how to take care of guests. Honestly, every place needs a full-time bartender like Rudy. Can’t recommend this spot (or him) enough!

Great food, outstanding service and well balanced when it comes to good quality in food and reasonable pricing. The manager and our waiter Albert were both great help when they learned we were tourists and gave us directions to local fun places to visit. The vive was calm and relaxed but super cozy and home like feel to it. Albert constantly checked in and had a nice conversation with us even though he was busy with multiple tables. Most definitely recommend to stop by and next time I'm in town I will be sure to pay them a visit.

The happy hour menu is my favorite at this restaurant. We thought the dishes from that menu would be small and plain but were blown away by the tacos. We had the salmon, birria, and shrimp tacos, and they were all amazing and very affordable. We also got elote, and sopes. I had the Margarita trio, and my dad had the mangonada, which was also great. Parking is very small, but we got lucky and got a spot near.

Love coming here for brunch and they're happy hour. The manager Pablo is a vibe! He's very welcoming and friendly. Really appreciate the hospitality and the good food!

This van nuys el torito is a fun place to spend an hr or two especially after work anywhere from 5to7 during happy hour...decent price drinks&appetizers...not very crowded&not too loud with exceptions..

I got enchiladas and loved them. Everything on my plate was delicious. The salsa (with chips) was also really good. The grilled chicken fajitas are also 10/10. The enchiladas I ordered don't come with guac. I stole the guac from my wife's fajitas.

First time at the restaurant. The food was delicious. We got the option where you get an appetizer, an entre and a desert for $35 per person. The portiins where pretty good. The staff was incredible. Super friendly. They made you fresh guacamole right in front of you. Definitely going back to this place!

El Torito in Sherman Oaks is one of the friendliest restaurants in the Valley. I go there 2-x a week. I even have gotten to know at least 1/2 the staff from hostess Leslie to managers Pablo & Enofro and the hardest and friendliest worker is Adriana ☆☆☆☆☆ This place Rocks for so many reasons with specials 7 days a week & Sunday brunch. Rudy is one of the Best bartenders in the Valley with a wide variety of drink specials. I also watch sports there. Go Dodgers

I've been going to this location for decades, and it's my favorite El Torito! The food is always so delicious and there is a wide selection of menu items. The staff is always friendly and works efficiently. They have a great happy hour too! My most recent visit was for my Birthday and the staff sang Que Linda AND Halt Birthday to me. Good times!

I've been going to this restaurant with my family for decades. There's something for everyone, including vegetarian options. The parking lot gets pretty full around lunch and dinner time, but they do have valet parking and there are residential streets to park on nearby, too.

I had a wonderful experience at El Torito, Sherman Oaks, 1/20/24. Managers, Joseph, and Pablo, helped to make it a special experience, as well as Natalie who works upfront and new employee, Melissa, who did such a sparkling job cleaning the bathroom that I had to say something to the managers. I ordered the queso and the 4–item combo. I left a large dinner fork in the picture to show how big the platter was. All was superb!

I have to say our experience was unforgettable thanks to our waiter, Alfredo. His service was nothing short of phenomenal. I honestly don’t remember last time I’ve had a waiter that gave such excellent service whether a corner taco stand or Michelin starred restaurants (and I’ve probably dined at 6 Michelin star spots in the past 3 months between the US and Europe) From the moment we sat down, Alfredo was attentive without being intrusive, warm, genuine, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He anticipated our needs before we even asked, and every interaction felt sincere and thoughtful despite being busy with several other tables. He turned what could have been just another meal into an excellent time. El Torito is lucky to have someone like Alfredo on their team. He should honestly be the poster child for excellent service, not only for this restaurant but for the hospitality industry in general. I will absolutely be returning, and I’ll be asking for him by name.

El Torito- (Sherman oaks) The variety of food was outstanding—everything from fresh salads and flavorful entrées to delicious desserts. Every dish tasted freshly prepared. Pablo the manager was very attentive from the very beginning ! The staff was friendly and attentive, constantly refilling stations and keeping everything clean without ever feeling intrusive. Since the first minute we got here, the manager (Pablo) greeted us very kindly, we already knew we were going to have a very good dining experience. We did the brunch on a Saturday evening, everything was very delicious from their menudo to their very delicious flan. If you are looking for really great service, great, Mexican, food, and the best Mexican food in my opinion in South LA. If you're looking for that, then you need to go no further bite to eat here. As a pilot, I'd travel the country and Mexican food is one of my favorites. It's very hard to find very good Tex-Mex Mexican food that's outstanding. The service here was off the charts! So when you come here, you must ask for Rudy !! The enthusiasm that this man has for his job, and the restaurant is stunning. We really enjoyed the brunch. We met one of the managers Pablo a couple of months back and he encouraged us to try out the Sunday brunch. Really glad we did. The omelettes were awesome (my go-to usually), the chicken from the bar was scrumptious, and the service is 👌🏽 and good vibes.

We went there for their Thanksgiving Buffet Experience, which included unlimited champagne. I loved that there was so much variety to choose from, besides their Thanksgiving carving station. Our server was on point with clearing our tables and refilling our drinks.

The Sunday Brunch was SO good and the service to match! Our Champagne glasses were never empty, thank you Adriana!

My experience this time was MUCH better than the last. Our server was great, very attentive and very polite. The food was delicious! The desserts are also delicious! There are a lot of different areas to sit at. Some quieter areas, some louder, bar sitting area if you're there for just a drink, outside seating is also great, and then there's multiple indoor seating areas available. Also, plenty of parking available too. I will definitely be coming back here in the near future, and I highly recommend you come to this location as well.

Had sangría rosa, with red wine and bourbon in it, I am not a bourbon person... The sangría was good, just no bourbon next time, it had a really strange aftertaste that I did not like because of it. Be prepared this place is expensive! We only had 1 platter along with that sangría and it was $50! It's the reason we rarely come here.. This is, also a loud place, great 4 Birthdays! They charge a surcharge of 3.9% and that is included in the bill you get @ the restaurant and they also have a sign in the front to notify ppl.

This is the best El Torito I’ve been to, especially much better than the Santa Monica location. The manager Pablo was super attentive from the moment I walked in & made sure that everything was to my liking. The experience all felt super high scale and professional due to Pablo and the others working at that time. Came in during happy hour and was sat within 10 seconds of walking in. The food was absolutely delicious and they gave us so much we had to get the rest to go. So let me begin by saying that I have lived in the San Fernando Valley forever...over 20 plus years and have come to the El Torito Van Nuys location many times before. I would come for karaoke and for happy hour here and there. The last time my husband (who is originally from Detroit) and I came for happy hour a few months ago, Adriana was our server and she was awesome. We also met the manager Pablo that same day who immediately made us feel welcomed to the restaurant. He and my husband joked about Detroit Tigers baseball team and Pablo bragged about the Dodgers --was fun chatter. Pablo told us about the Sunday Brunch which I had never been too all the time I lived in the valley. We went today and ironically had the same waitress - Adriana. She was amazing and attentive! She made sure that everyone in her area was constantly taken care of and had everything they needed. We asked for Pablo and he came to our table; we were all so glad to see each other as we hugged and caught up as we talked about our families. Pablo is the most down to earth and kindest manager of any establishment that I have met. He is apart of our family now... for life. Thank you for the great service.

We went to the Sunday Brunch today. The was great. I loved the BBQ ribs that were tasty and the variety at the shrimp bar. The buffet has a lot of things to choose from. The atmosphere was festive but mellow for carrying on conversation. Our server, Adan, paid attention to whatever we needed or wanted. This restaurant has always been my favorite when there were more locations thats where I chose to eat every single birthday! We didn't get chips or get someone to help us for literally 30 minutes and even after that the service was less than I expected. We went at 300 pm so it was not crowded. The food was non descript and barely warm. It was my birthday and no singing or anything. Kind of a bummer.

El Torino, we walked in, got seated, and boom...half the place felt like a blackout. Had to hit the phone flashlight just to read the menu. Not a great start, but we pushed through. Locked in the Macho Platter and fajitas. About 15 minutes later, food lands. Tamales? A little on the dry side, Then came the fajitas—server rolls up, splashes some liquid, lights it up, and suddenly, we got a fire show. A little drama with dinner, why not? Fajitas tasted solid, had that nice sizzle. Service? Decent. They did their thing, nothing mind-blowing, but no complaints. Overall, still a solid spot, just bring a flashlight if you wanna read the menu.

I had ordered from here for delivery before and it was awesome! So I decided to take my mini me and go for dinner. The host was very nice and friendly..made us feel welcome. We're seated for 10 to 15 minutes before a waitress showed up at our table. Asked for our order. My daughter had a Shirley Temple and kuds chicken fajitas side of fruit and a sundae. I ordered a glass of red wine with a glass of ice and sprite. She looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. So I said, or you can put the wine in soda glass over ice and top it off with sprite ..she again looks confused so I said just bring me a glass of red wine and a glass of sprite. I then ordered chicken fajitas veggies well done with a side of pico and sour cream n corn tortillas. She brings me a wine glass a 1/4 way full and tells me, I put some sprite in it! No ice mind you. And with the sprite this wine glass is literally 1/4 full. I said never mind . She leaves the table and votes back 5 minutes later with a glass of ice half full of sprite I poured the glass of "wine" in the ice filled glass and off she went. About 20 minutes later our food comes. Nicely displayed however no pico no sour cream. Then I notice my fajitas potatoe wedges in it! ?? She returns to check on us I asked for the pico n sour cream and then questioned the potatoes her reply was that's part of their veggies mix. Ok... good enough. Now she brings the bill! Doesnt ask of we need anything else... So I ask for boxes because we've now been there like 90 minutes and wanted to get home and she bring me containers and still thinking what the heck..this waitress is not with it at all... so I said, my daughters supposed to get a sundae with her meal....and she says to me, oh yea but I usually wait for the parent to ask for it!!!! Are you serious right now? Sadly it was a total disappointment.

Food and service was decent. There were some minor issues including weak drinks, cold food, and water took a while to come out. I enjoyed the table side guac and liked that we could choose a spice level and that it was prepared fresh. I had the mango margarita and fajita tacos with steak which were both decent.

First, I’m not a fan of surcharges, the law says they’re to be “conspicuously displayed”, tiny writing at the bottom of the menu falls short of this requirement. Anyway…the service was fantastic, my service was truly excellent. I enjoyed the sour cream and chicken enchilada, possibly the best I’ve ever had! The normally standard crispy beef taco was also very good. The normally overlooked and under seasoned beans were actually great too!

Simply excelent!!!! I loved the food and I recommend it. Update: the second evening carne asada was not good at all...

Ordered delivery, only took him 5 min to get here, and the food was VERY cold! Even the cheese dip had hard top and was cold. To top it off, there was VERY LITTLE veggies in my fajita. Very disappointed.

My first and last time coming to this one. I’m use to the one on Fiji Way and thought they were all the same. The food quality is bland and overall not good. The drink was very subpar and couldn’t taste any alcohol but the waiter warned me about it. I guess it was good I hadn’t eaten in 11 hours. Even the Chips and Salsa was horrible. Store bought chips and definitely not warm. Ordered queso that came out with the meal instead of fresh chips. Sitting here writing review and the waiter hasn’t even came to take a dish off the table. However I’ve paid the check. Wouldn’t let me give no stars. Just horrible experience.

Super disappointed my order for last nite dinner was missing food I paid for and by the time I got home it was after 10pm and they were closed so I couldn't even complain or ask for the food not given to me. my daughter being a diabetic had no choice but to eat the dinner plate she ordered which wasn't up to standards when eating there. $84.00 bucks later I was so upset I couldn't nor did I want to eat my order which was half missing and not what I ordered. thank you El Torito for lack of diligence on making sure my order ,that I paid for in cash was all there, which resulted in me going to bed hungry and angry. I will be bring back my untouched food for a complete refund.
