Preguntas frecuentes sobre Kitchen Rumors
Opiniones de Kitchen Rumors Houston
Long story short: we got a thorough review of Kitchen Rumors through their Houston Restaurant Week offerings and WE WILL BE BACK! There was not a single dish that my husband & I shared that we didn't enjoy. Standout dishes include the infladita, pan fried paneer, and orange & saffron flan. Btw, a BIG THANK YOU from a foodie parent offer outdoor seating, clear kids policy online, friendly staff, and complex mocktails. Thanks for allowing me to enjoy delicious food and to go outside!!!
Thanks for doing Indian food right!! Such a wonderful time here with lovely staff. Only suggestion is to accommodate orders for larger parties, like providing enough ramen bowls or spoons. Our favorites were the lamb chops, branzino, and biryani, but you can’t go wrong with anything. Family style is the way to go!
This is a must try place!! Food is exceptional, every dish is different from the last, I wanted to try everything. Different flavors, texture, temperature, and everything was my favorite. Great wine prices!! Great cocktails!! Make sure to Uber Parking it’s tight, but well worth it! Get the Hot Dog Dessert!!!!! Anissa was great!!
The lobster dumplings and mushroom galouti are amazing! It's definitely worth trying. I ordered the branzino, cumin spice potatoes, garbazo bean curry, and Naan bread - everything was delicious. Staff is really attentive. Seating is intimate. If I had any complaints, it's wishing 2 loud diners weren't seated right next to us on a mostly empty restaurant, but not a deal breaker. I would definitely go back.
Pretty good spot. We enjoyed our dinner here. We got the following, with asterisks to indicate what we enjoyed: - Mocktail: Love Marriage - Mocktail: Not So Over-Smart* - Infladita* - Hokkaido Scallop Ceviche - Grilled Gossip Lamb Chop* - Paneer Kakori - Lobster Dumpling* - Bison Short Rib Nihari* - Layered Sheermal* - Dessert: Howdy Gulab Jamun* - Dessert: Shahi Tukda Panna Cotta*
I had a wonderful time here with my girlfriend! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was amazing. The garlic naan was soft and flavorful, and the gulab jamun was an absolute killer – the perfect way to end the meal. What really stood out was the service – the manager was so friendly and attentive, and the staff made us feel comfortable and cared for throughout. We left with full hearts and happy stomachs. Definitely a place I’d recommend and come back to!
Flavors were impeccable, service was excellent. Our waitress Alejandra was phenomenal and went above and beyond. Highly recommend their appetizers (the lobster dumplings and the lamb chop) and their side, the layered Sheermal, was a winner. The Panna Cotta was another favorite. As a South Asian indian family we have to say they did a wonderful job marrying tastes and creating wonderful dishes.
A must-visit spot for food lovers! Kitchen Rumors truly impressed us with both their flavors and hospitality. The staff didn’t just serve – they shared the story behind each dish, which made the experience feel special and thoughtful. The goat biryani was the star – rich, aromatic, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Lobster dumplings were a creative twist, beautifully plated with tiny eggs that added texture and visual appeal. The chicken kebab had a bold, unique spice blend that lingered in the best way. Shahi tukda had a deliciously creamy rabri, though the toast could have been softer – still a satisfying end to the meal. The Love Marriage mocktail had a quirky dried lemon flavor with a tart zing – refreshingly different and a fun twist on the usual. The ambiance indoors was okay – felt a bit packed, but they do offer outdoor seating which is a plus. A perfect blend of modern Indian cuisine with a gourmet touch. Can’t wait to come back and try more!
First off, the service is great. Very attentive and ample staff. We received frequent visits, drinks topped off, check ins by management and the chef. Seating is intimate but I will say that the bench seating along the wall is a bit too tall for the tables, the floor side chairs are perfect height though. Garlic Naan, garbanzo curry and cumin potatoes were flavorful and delicious, I might enjoy the garbanzo curry with naan as a meal of its own! The Quayle was really great, divine sauce (amazing for dipping naan) Branzino was delicious crunchy outside and well cooked. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. Dessert was great too. Can't wait until the next time I get to see you!
Wow. We didn’t know this place existed until we accidentally passed by it yesterday and honestly it was excellent. Very interesting cuisine but everything we ordered was amazing! The service was as great!! Would definitely come back and highly recommend! The only thing i would say is look at the menu before going off you’re a picky eater. I usually don’t like ramen but their butter chicken ramen was excellent! The place was full too, so id recommend reserving a table
Came here with my fiancée recently during Houston Restaurant week. Had a great time! The food, atmosphere and service were all fantastic. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and couldn’t recommend our choices more. For appetizers we had the Hokkaido Scallop Ceviche and the Crispy Kale & Wasabi White Peas. My fiancée whom doesn’t typically like Wasabi anything said she loved the dish. They were both delicious. The Scallops were very fresh as well. For entrees we had the Goat Byriany and the Pan Fried Paneer. They came with a side of Grbanzo beans as well. Both of the dishes were amazing. The goat was very well seasoned and tender. The sauce that the paneer came in was savory, sweet and all around perfect! The portion size was big as well! Lastly, for dessert we had the Chocolate Cardamon Mousse and the Orange & Saffron Flan. One of the best flans we’ve ever had! The chocolate mousse was also great: rich, creamy and just to die for! Highly recommend checking out this place!
Absolutely loved my experience at Kitchen Rumors! The branzino was cooked to perfection, the garlic naan was so flavorful, and the spaghetti bolognese doesn’t compare to any other I’ve ever had. On top of that, the wine list had amazing prices, and the cocktails were really well-crafted. A perfect spot for delicious food, great drinks, and an overall memorable night.
Another absolute WIN for the Kahani group. Had dinner there, going back again tomorrow to try the rest of the menu. Highlights: the pistachio mocktail, ceviche, pani puri, lobster dumplings, paneer tacos, blue cheese chicken (my overall favorite!! Get it with the chili cheese naan), lamb biryani and sheermal Now a special spot for the love of my life, the flavortown must try— she’s part pecan pie, part key lime pie, and part Gulab jamun. The perfect mix of India and the South. Give them a Michelin Bib for this, it’s well deserved. Aaaand that’s about it…just order the entire menu and get ready for the best nap of your life. Maybe take a second Gulab jamun dessert for after your nap.
Heard about Kitchen Rumors and decided to check it out. We came during a quieter time and were seated quickly, though I’d recommend a reservation during peak hours. From the start, the service stood out. They didn’t initially have a baby seat, but the manager personally retrieved one from storage without being asked. We were fine without it, but that kind of initiative set the tone for a genuinely attentive evening. We started with the Infladita, their take on pani puri, a refreshing, flavorful twist on the classic. The oysters were layered so well that the actual oyster almost became an afterthought to the initial burst of flavors. Lamb chops were rich and perfectly cooked, I could’ve kept eating them. But the blue cheese chicken kebab, with its fondue-style base, stole the show for me: savory, bold, and completely unique. For mains, the butter chicken ramen was a creative and homey fusion, comforting in a way that stayed true to both dishes. The paneer was more traditional but cleanly prepared and paired well with the sheermal for a savory and sweet profile. Our little one was being picky, and the server kindly asked the kitchen to prepare a small bowl of fries, another thoughtful touch that didn’t go unnoticed. The beverages were balanced and well-crafted. Our server was attentive throughout, explaining the reasoning behind each dish and making sure there was never a dirty plate or empty glass on the table. Later, Executive Chef Bindra came by to introduce himself and offer insight into the menu. He mentioned how Indian cuisine has traveled the world and evolved. His goal was to showcase how it can fuse with global flavors while staying rooted in tradition. That moment added a thoughtful layer to the experience. For dessert, the Howdi Gulab Jamun was a sleeper hit, warm, perfectly textured, with lemon curd and pecan crust that worked surprisingly well. One of the best Indian desserts I’ve ever had. The panna cotta was nicely done, subtle, but perhaps a bit overshadowed by the depth of the former. We finished with masala chai and espresso, a welcome nod to those who appreciate a proper close to the meal. The ambiance strikes that rare balance: casual yet refined. That tone carries through the menu, the plating, and the experience itself. It’s hard to find something quite like it in Houston, but if I had to place it in context, Musaafer comes to mind in terms of thoughtfulness and execution. Different styles entirely, but Kitchen Rumors absolutely earns a place in that broader conversation. A gem, get in before everyone else does.
We had a great experience at KR. The service was fantastic. We tried (in order of preference) the lamb which wasn’t for us but was seasoned well, the lobster dumplings which were pretty good, the tikka oysters which were rich but tasty, the cauliflower which was surprisingly bursting with flavor, and the branzino which was cooked to perfection. My fiancé also had a pretty tasty mocktail so it’s fair to assume the drinks are on par with the food. We will be returning.
Superb!!! the attention to detail from the staff was impeccable, the food and drinks were out of this world. Small but great selection of wines, we need to try them next time, I did not know they have a happy hour every day, another reason to come back. highly recommended. The patio seems super relaxing, maybe in a couple of weeks....
I came with my husband for our anniversary. The bison short ribs and lobster dumplings were TO DIE FOR! I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place was SO DELICIOUS. I had to share my awesome experience. We had the coolest waiter Milan that was so friendly and fun to talk to. He even introduced us to chef (Nadine I think was his name). This restaurant has only been open for 4 months and I’m so so glad we checked it out after a friend recommended it to us. The food has the most amazing Indian flavors. I seriously resisted the urge of licking the plate. We are certainly coming back for our date nights! Thank yall so much!
Food was fantastic and definitely worth the visit. We shared several appetizers, drinks, a couple entrees, and every dessert. Everything was delicious and unique. I’ve rewritten this review several times but because there’s so much to say I end up with a novel. I’ll try to talk about highlights, but know that every dish is delicious, unorthodox, and well presented. Many others have provided breakdowns for what they’ve tried, so I’ll mention notable items which others haven’t provided feedback on yet. Mushroom Galouti - My brother mentioned that they had a taste and texture better than traditional meat galouti. Great option for vegetarians Blue Cheese Chicken Kebabs - Excellent. Blue cheese was very mild, and chicken was very soft. Layered Sheermal - Very soft, fluffy, and lightly sweet. Sichuan Eggplant - Very creative, very delicious. Crispy outside, soft inside. Another great option for vegetarians. Frankly, nearly everything was outstanding. There is not a bad choice on the menu. The only exception was the ramen, which we had mixed feelings about. Apart from the taste, my thoughts are that perhaps the soup base could be slightly more viscous, or, if not, firmer ramen noodles could be provided to better absorb the flavor of the broth. I love the idea a lot, though. It got me thinking about how else butter chicken could be translated into different dishes, such as a butter chicken jhol momo with chicken char siu. Desserts were all excellent and, to me, the highlight of the meal. Contrary to what a few of the reviews mention, the Gulab Jamun worked very well with the layering of the sourness of the lemon curd, consistency of the jamun, and crunchy, sweetness of the pecan cookie bar. The Shahi Tukda Panna Cotta was very good as well. My family loved the mild sweetness, texture, and flavor of the dish. As we all know, Houston is a food capitol and while the food was so good I’m hesitant to mention any cons it would be remiss of me if I didn’t note any points of improvement however minor they may be. There are two points I would like to mention, the first being how long it took to receive drinks and dishes. We visited on a Friday night and opted to sit outside as we wanted a quieter atmosphere, so perhaps positioning beyond an immediate line of sight contributed to the delay, but it was over 30 minutes after being seated that we received our first appetizers and drinks. I completely understand, as it was a very busy night and it’s only been a few months after opening. I’m sure this will improve over time as the kitchen and staff get acclimated, hence why I’ve put my list of cons at the bottom at the point which most people have stopped reading. I’m also of the mind that I would much rather have things come out properly done than in a substandard fashion for the sake of time. However, I had been planning my visit here since KR opened and had not eaten a single thing on the day of my visit in anticipation of the meal. It was 10:00 pm before I was able to eat anything, and while I’m usually an optimist it made me a little bit sad :( Subsequent rounds of appetizers and entrees were a bit quicker, but for the first time I cancelled a drink because it took too long. But I digress as I’m sure things will improve as the team gets more comfortable with the volume of customers which the quality of their food demands. My second issue was with the quantity. To clarify, I have no issue with the cost of the food because it was worth it. $8 per dumpling? Cool. $14 per lamb chop? That’s your prerogative. But this is Texas, where the clientele is used to things being bigger. Houstonians are, whether physically or mentally, heavy set. We like our portions big. Please provide us options for smaller quantities or larger ones at a premium. I felt guilty eating because it meant others couldn’t eat what they liked. For example, the ceviche wasn’t worth $18 but for a bit more I’d happily pay $23. Also, would love to see a side of rice on the menu. I’d have no issues paying a few hundred dollars more for larger portions.
The experience at the restaurant was fantastic from start to finish. The highlight of our evening was Kay, our waitress, who was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered thoughtful recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and warm demeanor truly elevated our dining experience. Thanks to her, we felt well taken care of and left with a great impression of both the food and the service. Highly recommend!
Kitchen Rumors exceeded my expectations! The lamb chops were incredibly flavorful, honestly the best I’ve had so far. The oysters were also surprisingly delicious and unique. I can’t wait to go back. And a huge shoutout to my waitress, K, who was so patient and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!
We went to kitchen rumors for our anniversary. The menu was refreshing and very enticing. The person taking our orders suggested we go with the rumors experience as I am a vegetarian and my husband a non-vegetarian. The experience was out of the world. We ordered 2 cocktails and one mocktail which were excellent. The food was exquisite, the pairings were amazing. The best way to describe the food is elevated nostalgia. Every dish we tried had a wow factor. We were not able to finish the whole meal and enough leftovers for lunch and dinner for 2 people. Highly recommend going for the rumors experience. Hearty congratulations to chef Jassi for curating an amazing menu of food and drinks.
My second visit, and Kitchen Rumors continues to wow. From pani puri with a modern twist to perfectly grilled lamb chops and flavor-packed mutton biryani, every dish shows thoughtful fusion without losing authenticity. The cocktails were top-class—creative, balanced, and a perfect complement to the food. Amazing experience overall. Absolutely brilliant spot for anyone who loves modern Indian flavors with a bold, contemporary edge.
So happy we stumbled upon this place! It was so cute inside and Earl provided great service at the bar. We tried the hummus, paratha burger and blue cheese chicken fondue. They were all delicious! We enjoyed a couple of their cocktails as well. I love that they offer happy hour at all times in the bar area, huge plus!
Visited this place few weeks ago with co workers for dinner during a business trip to Houston! This place is very close Houston downtown took less than 10 minutes by Uber ! This place is located in a quiet locality! When reached the place and ordered our food it was very but it gradually started to fill as we left we saw of other folks in the restaurant! This place had Indian dishes with Mediterranean and Latin American fusion! Food was excellent in taste as well as great presentation! Chef Nadim came out from kitchen and discussed in details ingredients of various dishes, spices used to make the dishes . A great guy having Chef experience in various countries of the world ! Server Tony was a pleasant person too! We enjoyed the food and liked ambiance!
Went here for dinner and had a pre-fixe menu. Overall the experience was amazing. Loved the vibe and decor. The Indian influenced dishes were delicious especially the roasted oysters, beef vindaloo, and dessert. One course was some ravioli in Italian style sauce. The theme and flavor profile for this course wasn’t as good but everything else was fantastic!! Overall would recommend!
Found out about this place on tik tok. Really enjoyed the Inflatida, like a build your own pani puri. The purata smash burger was juicy and delicious with the green side sauce. The Bison short rib was so tender, milder more natural flavors, perfect for those who love a good roast. Howdy gulab jamun plating was so fun, the lemon curd really brightened each biteful! I definitely want to come and try more things!
We had such a great time here! The food was delicious, and the drinks were a highlight too. Bhangra Routine was absolutely refreshing—those watermelon ice cubes were such a fun and tasty touch 🍉✨. Drink Life Updation was decent, but Bhangra Routine definitely stole the show. Our server was fantastic—super informative and gave spot-on recommendations that we loved. Overall, a wonderful experience! We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending this place to friends and family. 👍
Incredible experience. We want to bring all of our friends here now. Milan was a great server and the menu was perfect. Highly recommend!
Lou was great server and knowledgeable about the menu. We didn't like the zucchini and they replaced it with the kale. The nahari was amazing and so was the chicken skewers. Overall 4.5 out of 5. Only bc they didn't warn that certain dishes are a bit spicy.
Best place for dine, highly recommend iconic chat and starter with mouth watering mains and delicious dessert choices. I love this place personally and recommend to everyone must go and enjoy the real tast of Indian food with Morden American cuisine....❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had such a fun night at Kitchen Rumors! The vibe is trendy and artistic, perfect for a night out. The Bhangra routine cocktail was refreshing and playful, and the lobster dumplings were a standout, so good. Don’t skip on the Chili Kulcha and garlic naan. I loved the butter chicken ramen as Nina described super cozy and flavorful. Her service was very knowledgeable and outstanding. Everybody was very attentive to our needs. I was too full for dessert, but I’ll definitely be back. Everything was creative, delicious, and made for a great night.
Another smash hit of a cool restaurant for an amazingly talented chef and a top notch family. Bravo to all! Loved the space and vibe. Nina (our waitress) was the epitome of enthusiasm and passion for the food and experience. Prices very reasonable. GF very well taken care of. Food took our breath away, every appetizer was 5/5! The welcome, the people, the connections and community makes this place stand out.
maggie was an amazing waitress at kitchen rumors! super friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. great service all around — ask for her!
Kay was an amazing server. I work in the industry and haven’t had such personable, kind service in awhile. She goes above and beyond and will be the reason we return (and the delicious food).
Kitchen Rumors is amazing! The food was absolutely fantastic and you can tell that Chef Jassi has put every little detail into all of his dishes for phenomenal flavors. My favorite menu on the menu was Butter Chicken Ramen. The broth was to die for. Highly highly recommend!
Went last night with my wife and had a spectacular meal. We started with the ceviche, lamb chops, and lobster dumplings — each dish was bursting with incredible flavor and beautifully presented. I’m still daydreaming about those lamb chops. For entrées, we tried both the goat biryani and the biranzee fish, which were equally outstanding. The drinks were out of this world. The ambiance was perfect, the service was attentive, and there was plenty of parking. I can’t wait to go back!
We had a great experience here! My husband, kids and I went for dinner and my daughter was a big fan of the mocktails. The cocktails were delicious and the pani puri and short ribs were 2 of our favorite dishes! We will definitely be back! Our waitress (Kay) was amazing and explained every dish so well! She was so knowledgeable on both the food and drink items. Thank you Kay!
Loved the fusion concept. Tried the butter chicken ramen and paratha wagyu burger. Both were delicious and very flavorful. Absolutely loved the mocktails! Our server Milan was awesome and provided great recommendations!
Chef jassi knows what’s up. The menu and the service and the atmosphere is all perfect. This menu is helping to teach people that Indian food is not all curry and not all spicy. Milan is such an attentive and personable server. This is where you should take your out of town fiends and foodie friends.
The rumors are true! One of the best dining experiences I've had in my long 43 years on this planet. Absolutely blown away by the culinary wizardry that happens within the walls of kitchen rumors!!! The sorcery that I experienced tonight dancing on my taste buds cannot be described in words it must be experienced. I will be back over and over and over again amazing bravo a bravo abravo
Can I give this place 6 stars? What an amazing experience. Chef Jassi Bindra has created the most interesting and delicious global fusion recipes with Indian roots. Being from Austin, this is a very high compliment and I was appreciative of the opportunity to thank him and head chef, Nadeem Qureshi, for our exceptional evening with them. The restaurant is lovely, easy to access, close to downtown with no valet parking required (yay!), professional and friendly staff, and a bartender (Milan) who not only makes beautiful cocktails, he knows every detail of the menu and helps you to order well. We started with the Hokkaido scallop ceviche that was beautifully served and the scallops were sweet and luscious. We shared two mains - the bolognese and the goat biryani. If you’ve ever made bolognese, you will know the work that goes into it. Well, this lamb bolognese is made with love too. It’s the only way to have a bolognese this exquisite. I could have stopped there, but my husband said the Biryani was outstanding. He was right. So tender and perfect with the rice that soaked up its juices while cooking with it. I highly recommend enjoying the yoghurt that comes with it. To be honest, a bowl of that rice with just the yoghurt would be an amazing meal. We couldn’t pass on dessert, mostly out of curiosity because we were so full. We ordered the Chocolate Cardamom Mousse which tipped us over. Simply beautiful. As you can tell by the this post, we are big fans of this amazing restaurant and think you will be also if you appreciate an innovative menu with high standards and, thank goodness, affordable. Thank you Chef Nadeem!!
Visited this place with co workers and the food and vibes were excellent. The food is delicious good portions flavorful and no wrong thing on the menu the staff gave great recs. The chicken is delicious but if you are ordering must plan and get that in it does take 45 min to make (worth it). 10/10 would recommend and return.
I wasn’t expecting much from this restaurant, but they blew me away. The flavor profiles are excellent. The combinations and presentation were top notch. On top of that, they make great cocktails. This place is a gem … give it a try.
Finally got to try this restaurant that we had been hearing about. We typically are a bit apprehensive when it comes to Indian fusion, but this restaurant changed that for us. From the service to the food, it was all on point and some. Everything tasted to authentic while with a twist. Chef Bindra checking in with us and other tables certainly shows that they want the best experience for their customers. We moved to Houston from Toronto and are so glad we found this gem 😊. Keep up the great work team Kitchen Rumors!
COME WITH AN APPETITE. This place deserves a michelin star. The food was AMAZING. Drinks were great and so was the service but I will be back for the food. SO FLAVORFUL.
Loved this fusion take on Indian food. Went on Super Bowl Sunday so it was nice and quiet. Great experience overall. You will see us again.
This is such a cool little spot. The food was amazing, forgot to worry about calories. Ambiance is cozy and relaxing. The service was amazing, everyone from the greeter to the waitress were so kind and personable. Will definitely return
First time here, but will be back. Food was delicious and creative without trying too hard to be cool. Among my group of six, we all ordered our own dishes with a little sharing in mind, though we didn’t go for full family style. We agreed that the branzino was a hit, as were the potato and cauliflower sides. Ramen was solid. The bison short rib was pretty good but not amazing- not as tender as billed. The cocktails were all terrific. Nina was our excellent and fun server, answering our many questions and offering suggestions without being overbearing. The attentiveness of the staff made this feel like a high end dining experience. Look forward to enjoying again soon.
Don’t walk, RUN to make a reservation here! This experience was one of the best food experiences I’ve had in a while. Our table ordered many different things, all of them were exceptional. Exceptional doesn’t even begin to describe this experience.
We had such a fantastic experience at Kitchen Rumors! Our server, Milan, was absolutely amazing- attentive, kind, and made great recommendations throughout our visit. The cocktails here are top-notch, especially during happy hour. We loved the Astral Cucumber Jalapeño cocktail – so refreshing with just the right kick. The name of the cocktail is the “Lusty Monk”, perfectly balanced and creative. Tommy at the bar absolutely knows what he’s doing!!! The food was just as impressive, with bold flavors and beautiful presentation. Highly recommend stopping by for their happy hour and asking for Milan to take care of you - you won’t be disappointed!
This place was AMAZING! We did the happy hour and got one (if not more) of everything! The staff was so friendly and food was even better! Highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Great take on Indian fusion!
Just tried Kitchen Rumors and wow! 🔥 Their Indian fusion dishes are on point. The lamb chops were tender and bursting with flavor, the appetizers were creative and delicious, and the desserts were the perfect sweet finish. Highly recommend if you’re into bold, modern takes on Indian cuisine! 🙌🇮🇳✨
First time here and I will definitely be back! Jessica our server explained the menu so well to us and she was so sweet :) She definitely made our dining experience here even better. We tried several appetizers, different dinner options, drinks, and desserts & were never disappointed by any of it.
The food is absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was fresh, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it perfect for both family dinners and special occasions. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, a wonderful dining experience — highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again!
The bartender EARL delivered fantastic service and was extremely helpful with his delicious menu recommendations. The food has a unique style you wont find elsewhere. We were so impressed by his cocktail knowledge and his upbeat attitude. We will definitely be adding Kitchen rumors to our preferred places to dine! Thank you for a lovely time Earl!
We came here for the Valentine’s Day pre fixe menu and got such a treat with 5 courses that were an absolute culinary delight. We got oysters, watermelon chaat, chicken seekh kabab, pepper prawn linguine, Rogan josh, sea bass, and rose ice cream. We received absolutely amazing service from Jessica. She was attentive and constantly making sure we were good. She had a smile the entire night and really made our evening that much more beautiful.
This restaurant knocks it out of the park in every category. I made a reservation for Thanksgiving and was seated right away. The eclectic ambiance adds both fun and an element of design. Kat was my server, she was attentive and offered great recommendations. Nina, the manager, was also actively engaged in service and made sure the experience was top tier. Last but definitely not least, this was the best Indian fusion food in all of Houston and beyond that I’ve experienced to date. The 5 course menu was an explosion of interesting and robust flavors. I can’t wait to return!
First time patron. Milan was our server and was very attentive and friendly. This restaurant was a great new spot to try and I will be coming back. It truly encapsulates the diversity that is the Houston food scene through its unique and diverse flavors. Highly recommend as an entry point into Indian cuisine. Favorite dish: Roasted Oysters Tikka
Kitchen Rumors keeps raising the bar! We ordered the Infladita, Blue Cheese Chicken Kababs, and the Paratha Wagyu Smash Burger, and everything was spot-on. The infladitas were super fun to assemble, the kabobs were packed with flavor, and that smash burger might be one of the best in the city. We also tried the Pan Fried Paneer, which was soft, rich, and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly and the ambiance was great, definitely coming back to try more dishes.
"Obsessed with this place!" We went for dinner and ended up trying way more than planned - totally worth it. The Atta Chicken was the standout, and the Pan Fried Paneer was soft and full of flavor. Also loved the Oysters Tikki. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. Service was warm, quick, and genuinely helpful. Easily a new favorite in Houston.
“A perfect night out!” We ordered the Butter Chicken Ramen, the Grilled Gossip Lamb Chop, and the Crispy Kale & Wasabi Peas. Everything was so flavourful and creative. The lamb chop was cooked perfectly and the ramen broth was incredible. The ambiance is fun, the staff is super friendly, and the cocktails were just as good as the food. Highly recommend!
A True Gem of Indian Cuisine in Houston Quitchen Rumors is without a doubt one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever tried in Houston — and honestly, anywhere. From the moment you walk in, the place surrounds you with a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s hard to find these days. The food is outstanding. Every dish is packed with depth and perfectly balanced spices, made with fresh ingredients and flawless execution. You can taste the passion, technique, and respect for Indian cuisine in every bite. Nothing feels heavy or simplified; everything has purpose and a level of quality that truly impresses. The service is exceptional. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure you enjoy your experience. They don’t just treat you well — they make you feel welcome, like a special guest in their home. And the best part: the chef personally comes out to greet you. With a humble and warm presence, he stops by your table, asks how everything is, and offers personalized recommendations. That personal touch — something rare nowadays — makes all the difference. It reminds you that you’re in a place where passion for food and customer care are top priorities. In short, Quitchen Rumors offers incredible flavors, top-tier quality, and hospitality that feels like family. A complete experience. An absolute must in Houston.
new spot with great happy hour. entrance off Sawyer has limited parking but more parking available off Decatur entrance. offers patio plenty seating. weather was great on Friday so we opted for outdoors even though no one else was outside. very friendly waitress. hummus was the best - fiery kick. sliders were a bit undercooked - little pinky inside + chewy (did make waitress aware). the burger was great. I would definitely go back.
"Loved the food and the vibe!” Kitchen Rumors is such a cool spot. We had the Hokkaido Scallop Ceviche, Paratha Wagyu Burger, and the Infladita. The ceviche was fresh and bright, the burger was juicy with amazing flavors, and the infladitas were a fun little experience on their own. Great music, great service — can’t wait to return.
Everything was so good here! We had the blue cheese chicken kabobs, lobster dumplings, lamb chops (the best) as starters. For entrees, we had the filet mignon medium rare + .. cooked to perfection. Butter chicken ramen is worth a try but I would probably pass just bc of ramen gets a bit messy. The broth is so good though!! This restaurant is only 3 months old.. give them a chance! I definitely recommend them
One of the best meals I’ve had in Houston!” Tried the Blue Cheese Chicken Kababs, Lobster Dumplings, and the Goat Biryani every single dish was packed with flavor and beautifully made. The kababs were tender and rich, and the biryani was aromatic and perfectly cooked. Our server helped us pick the right dishes and the whole experience felt smooth and welcoming. Definitely coming back.
I would highly recommend coming here for a drink, happy hour, appetizers or anything to be honest. The food has an incredible range of flavours and the drinks are so unique and delicious. There is a really cute outside seating area, it's dog friendly - no excuses if your at the dog park opposite!
I absolutely loved the place, and their outdoor patio. The appetizers blend a variety of flavors that work together to create magic. My favourites were the chilli cheese kulcha and the mushroom galouti. Our server, Jessica, was the nicest! Strongly recommend this place.
What a great place. Very different twist of Indian fushion and flavors from Greece, Morocco, China and Italy to name a few. The other reviews for recommendations are spot on but we'll add the Schezuan Eggplant bites appetizer to the list. Everything was delicious. Excellent service, good parking, patio thats nice, and cute neighborhood. You'll leave saying it was super interesting and delicious.
I mean how can you beat an all day happy hour on the patio during patio weather? Also, not for nothing - we were at Musaffer (or however you spell it) and their naan was mid - but Kitchen Rumors knocks the naan out of the park. Flavors were complex and legit, food was both creative and satisfying. I had the lamb shank and the wife had the butter chicken ramen (literally her 2 favorite dishes in one). Everything was great and the cocktails were perfect. Absolutely worth a look, and Kat is a great waitress.
The best lamb shank in town! We visited Kitchen Rumors for a Friday date night, and although we had a reservation, there was a 15–25 minute wait for our table. I was initially disappointed, but the staff handled it perfectly—the manager immediately offered us drinks at the bar to make up for the delay. Luckily, the table opened up much sooner than expected! The service stayed top-notch all night; our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable with drink and food recommendations. We tried two tequila cocktails from the specialty menu—they were perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and you could actually taste the quality spirits. For food, the ceviche is a must-try (the tostada with sweet potato puree is genius). For mains, the branzino was excellent, but the lamb shank stole the show. It was fall-off-the-bone tender with a delicious sauce. We were too full for dessert this time, but the menu looked so good we’re already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!
Kitchen Rumors absolutely lived up to the hype! From the moment we sat down, everything—from the vibe to the food—was on point. We started with the Swag Wali, which was smooth, fun, and perfectly balanced. The Bhangra Routine drink was a standout too—refreshing, flavorful, and the watermelon ice cubes were such a creative touch that made it even better. The food was just as impressive. The roasted oysters were fresh and full of flavor, cooked perfectly. The lamb chops were tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully—easily one of the highlights of the night. The chicken kabab was flavorful and cooked just right, and the spaghetti bolognese was rich, comforting, and done really well. Overall, Kitchen Rumors delivers on quality, creativity, and taste. Amazing food, great drinks, and a solid experience all around. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to and recommending to others!
We had a great experience at Kitchen Rumor in Houston. The food was absolutely delicious everything was flavorful, fresh, and well prepared. You can tell a lot of care goes into the menu. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the service. Catherine was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared about our experience, which made the night even more enjoyable. Great food is important, but exceptional service makes all the difference and Kitchen Rumor delivered on both.
If someone asks me what place do I look for to have a nice dinner time, I would say a restaurant where the food is prepared and cooked by a chef and his associates who care about what they are doing and make the recipe their own. There are a few such restaurants in Houston that I love to go because I see their well trained chefs working in the kitchens. Kitchen rumors is one of them I came across this place through Houston Chronicle. I tried a Michelin Star restaurant recommended by the newspaper not a long time ago with really expensive dishes. If I need to choose between these too, I would rather go to Kitchen Rumors where you can get a fusion between Indian and Latin American cuisines. They are 3 steps higher than that restaurant I mentioned. This is my take and I am not exaggerating. One thing they may need to look at was the temperature. Our table was close to the balcony door and we felt a bit cold. I had a leather jacket on while eating. Very good service, very good manager and very passionate and hard working chef. We had the pleasure to meet the very well trained chef from abroad. We also met the owner who was looking at every single thing and consistently walking between the sitting area and the kitchen. I told them that this wasn't the last time they see us and I really meant it.
Kitchen Rumors is an absolute gem in Houston's Arts District! From the moment we walked in, the vibrant atmosphere and playful vibe had us hooked. The fusion of global flavors with bold Indian inspiration is genius — every dish we tried was bursting with creativity and taste. Standouts included the lobster dumplings (perfectly steamed with that luxurious caviar touch), the innovative butter chicken ramen that comforted the soul, and the grilled lamb chops that were tender and perfectly spiced. The cocktails were equally impressive — fun, balanced, and a great complement to the meal. Service was attentive, warm, and knowledgeable, making the whole experience feel special. This is modern Indian cuisine at its finest: approachable yet elevated, and definitely worth all the buzz. Can't wait to return and spread more rumors about how amazing it is! Highly recommend for date nights, celebrations, or just a flavorful night out. Chef Jassi Bindra and the team are killing it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Absolutely amazing!!! Milan was very attentive and gave great recommendations! The wagyu burger was definitely worth the hype! My new favorite burger!! The crispy kale salad with the potato patty was delicious! The butter chicken ramen made my heart happy!! The chocolate mousse with cardamom had just the right amount of cardamom and was the perfect sweet treat to finish the night! Chef Jassi was so friendly and took the time to chat with us too! Will definitely be back!
Very interesting fusion indian food concept! Like the food and ambiance is casual and simple nothing over the top. But overall it’s pricey, had to order a few times to try out and also coz portion sizes were small plus we ordered 4 drinks overall so bill was $200 for 2 people! Worth to give a try if you like fusion concepts
Came to Kitchen Rumors on opening night to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I called ahead and asked a few times if they could include a candle or birthday message with dessert — each time they said yes. Sadly, when dessert came, there was no mention of the celebration. A small miss on an otherwise special night. That said, the space is gorgeous and the food was fantastic. Definitely worth checking out, but I hope they iron out the service details as they go.
Excellent cocktails. Had the mushroom starter which was good. For the entree ordered the paneer dish but the tomatoes were too overpowering for my taste. The Gulab Jamun- Pecan dessert was excellent.
Good is good . But the drinks are too sweet and expensive. For the price of the drinks I expect well rounded flavor balancing a strong presence of spirits. This was very sweet and sugary without much nuance and somewhat medium spirits.
I wanted to love this place so much! The menu is fun and different but the food just wasn't great. The lobster dumplings and lamb chops were good but the butter chicken ramen resembled canned tomato soup. The desserts weren't memorable either. Their service was great and everyone was so friendly. I think it's worth a try for those who are curious, but not a place I'd personally revisit!
Service was incredible. Ambience was a bit weird. The food was not great. We ordered the oysters, dumplings, eggplant, and ramen — they all tasted the exam same. The only flavor was chicken tikka masala. Why does the “schezwan” eggplant not have even a hint of schezwan, and instead tastes like curry? As an Indian person myself I was just disappointed
Didn’t like the experience at all. Food was very very over priced for the portions served. We ordered the 50$+ atta whole chicken and got only 4 pieces! That too with very mild flavour. The server didn’t even tell us it came with Naans and we had ordered extra - which he conveniently forgot to pack! Parking is also limited. All in all a disappointing experience
Having loved Amrina, I came in with high hopes for this restaurant, but sadly the experience was quite disappointing. The pan-fried paneer tasted like it came from a ready-to-eat packet, the chilla and pani puri were very basic and didn’t live up to their presentation, and the drinks felt overhyped and underwhelming. On top of that, there was a three/four course meal option that our server forgot to mention—we only overheard it later, and we would have considered it if we had been told in time. The service overall was not great, which only added to the letdown. I am usually not a harsh critic, but it feels like many restaurants these days rely on social media hype instead of delivering genuinely high-quality, flavorful food. Unfortunately, this was one of those cases—I drove a long way with my mum to try it, and we left very dissatisfied.
‼️FOOD POISONING ALERT‼️ I went here Friday night and ordered branzino. 3 bites into the fish and I started feeling lightheaded. Soon after that I had to rush to the restroom and I was throwing up on and off for 1.5 hours. I talked to the manager and she tried to gaslight me by saying it was the heat in the restaurant that was making me sick. I kept saying it was the food and she didn’t want to believe me. She had a smirk on her face the whole time. She was reluctant but I insisted she gives me my money back. She finally agreed but wasn’t happy and took my receipt to refund and came back to hand it to my friend and walked away without a word while I was in the restroom vomiting again. It has been 3 days and I am now dealing with symptoms of food poisoning. I don’t recommend this place because of their shitty attitude. Food wasn’t great either. Completely overrated.
Food portions were dissapointing, prices do not match it. You can get bigger portions for the same price anywhere else. Hope they don't raise prices, they'll just shoot themselves in the foot. Servers were fantastic even tho their uniform look like inmate uniforms. The quality of the food isn't bad, if only the biryani wasn't microwaved. Not worth a Michelin star.
