Delightful little coffee shop! The best coffee I’ve had in LA so far. It gets really popular during peak hours and the line goes out the door, but service seems pretty fast. Their pastries sell out quickly depending on the day so get here in the morning if you want first dibs on the menu. Free street parking on Sundays. Modern yet homey feel inside, seating is definitely aesthetic over comfort. Has Wi-Fi, didn’t see any outlets. Seems like a busy place to work but nice atmosphere if you can find a seat. Their honey vanilla latte was delightful, very smooth and not too sweet. Friendly and helpful staff too, will definitely be back!

Excellent cortado and killer atmosphere. I enjoyed starting the day with the locals over a delicious beverage soaking in the cool vibes. Baristas are extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. I also grabbed a refreshing seasonal iced oat Piña Colada latte to hold me through the hot day and savored it as I explored the neighborhood. Looking forward to many returns.

One of the best matchas I’ve had in LA. Very flavourful and strong matcha taste. Creamy and naturally sweet. Service was great too

While shopping around Silverlake we stopped in to try some matcha + hojicha. The coffee bar is very sleek, clean and simple looking while the seating area is very simple as well but it’s more of a warm space. The seating is all wood so it has more of a cozy feeling! When ordering our drinks they let me know that their standard matcha is pre sweetened so it’ll be pretty sweet on its own and doesn’t need sweetened unless you want even more intense sweetness. They also mentioned that they have more earthy matcha options available! The drinks did not disappoint, they were delicious! Highly recommend, especially if you’re in the area and love a sweet matcha latte or want to try a hojicha latte!! If you get a hojicha latte I highly recommend trying it with cinnamon in it!

My partner and I go to this coffee shop at least once a week. There is usually a line, but we don’t mind waiting because the coffee is sensational. ☕️ 🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏿🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏾‍♂️🚶🏼 Each barista has excellent knowledge on the beans they are serving.📝 We also love getting a bag of beans for home. 🫘 Today I got the madagascar vanilla latte with oat milk which was perfect for this heatwave. 🥵☀️📈My partner ❤️ the hōjicha latte‼️

Excellent Ethiopian light roast! Reminds me of light roasts I would have in Japan: almost tea-like! Highly recommend for a light roast pour over

excellent coffee with different bean options. perfect foaming. so nice that they have wifi and outlets. quite popular so it’s usually pretty full. love that they’re open till 7, we need more coffee shops open to at least this time that serve actual good coffee! great coffee though i will say the matcha at this location is super mid, and usually ends up mostly milk/more white than green, in comparison to the Hollywood location where their matcha drinks are absolutely amazing.

The pourover served here is delicious and the servers are super nice! I was surprised they served iced pourovers as those are rarely available as an option in cafés from what I’ve seen. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place and would say it is a great place to work or study from. I got a bag of the Vietnam Dung K’No too and can’t wait to try brewing it at home. I definitely should have tried one of their baked goods but I prefer having them with milk drinks so I refrained. When I get the chance too, I’ll definitely come back to try their milk drinks and baked goods!

Excellent coffee! The vanilla latte (made from whole vanilla bean) is delicious, 10/10 recommend. The teas are great as well. They have wifi and outlets, which is a MAJOR plus in addition to being open later than your typical coffee shop (7pm). I only wish it were a larger space, as it can get quite packed. This place is sure to be a popular study and work spot. My only suggestion to the owners is to add a water station. The busy baristas serve drinks to the tables, so the end of the bar or in the back of the cafe would probably work. I was also a little taken aback that they do not offer low/no fat milk. It’s not a big deal at all, but if I can avoid the extra calories, I love the option. Hopefully one day I will make it early so I can try their pastries. Unless, of course, they plan to deliver more in the later afternoon ;)

Found this hidden gem by accident but it brightened up our day! Absolutely delicious coffee (10/10) and the morning bun (11/10) was the best I've ever had. Loved the coffee & food, nice & friendly staff, gorgeous coffee equipment and interior.

Super unique and yummy pastries, and good coffee. Really nice shop, clean and modern and nice bathroom. Nice staff and very knowledgeable of what they're selling. Little bit of a long wait but worth it!

I cannot believe it took me months to try their matcha but it’s because I was too obsessed with their vanilla bean latte (made with in house vanilla syrup!) to branch out. But now I have tried their matcha options (nakama is my favorite) and their strawberry matcha is also incredible? and I have to say— favorite matcha in Los Angeles. And I’ve tried soooo many. This place is such a gem. And everyone who works there is incredibly kind and helpful. Highly recommend for coffee or tea!

I absolutely love Stereoscope Coffee! The worker was very friendly and helpful. She answered all of my questions regarding the espresso beans, etc. She was also taking orders, making drinks all by herself and did a wonderful job managing that. I took a slight stroll outside while waiting for my drink and she was kind enough to bring the drink out to me.

Delicious pourovers (really clear flavors, not muddy, not too diluted), which they also do over ice adjusting ratios for dilution (Kyoto/Japanese-style?). Great people watching too

Stereoscope is where coffee nerds and design nerds cross paths. On one side you have a serious roaster that sources beans from across the spectrum of the world’s coffee regions; and then these beans are packaged in pristinely designed boxes and sold in very cool cafes like this one in Silver Lake. This location is simple but chic, and focuses on its core product – the coffee. Espressos are served with sparkling water (as should be the global standard), and buying a bag of coffee gets you a free drink. The staff is nice (by Silver Lake standards anyway). I’ll be checking out some of their other locations when I can.

Stereoscope is probably the best coffee in the area. I love coffee and I love my lattes, and matcha lattes. This place has it all. Creamy oat milk lates with delicious coffee. You get a free medium drink if you buy their coffee beans which is fun! The staff is lovely, only downside is sometimes there is a literal long line you have to start from outside because so many people come and they do take their time preparing the coffee. But that’s just how good their coffee is. Amazing Ferrari coffee machine, and many places to sit and amazing location. Worth the wait!

I don’t know what surpassed my expectations more, their customer service or quality of coffee. I was expecting phenomenal coffee, but their customer service was the best I’ve ever had at a coffee shop. You would think you’re shopping for Gucci loafers with the attentiveness and grace every staff member treats you with. I will certainly be back.

Some seriously legit coffee. One of the best cafes I’ve been to in Southern California, no exaggeration. A huge highlight of this place was the everything croissant—it’s a croissant with everything bagel-style seasoning and a cream cheese filling. This was the star of the show because the bread was absolutely, lip-smackingly epic. Certainly one of the best baked good I’ve ever had. The coffee is great too, don’t get me wrong. They have a large variety of beans and creative espresso drinks to choose from. Definitely a cafe to not miss while hanging out in LA!

S

The Spanish Latte is sweet and strong. The cafe really goes for a minimalistic vibe, but ends up a little messy (not enough tables). Seems more fitting for a date rather than a study session.

Coffee shop with tons of seating and huge windows to watch life go by in Echo Park. The staff are incredibly friendly and were patient enough to walk us through the menu items. The Spanish latte has sweetened condensed milk with cinnamon and provides a nice complex flavor. We also ordered the strawberry milk with a shot of espresso - don’t knock it till you try it! When we come back we would also like to try the Madagascar latte - made with real vanilla bean syrup. The coffee is well crafted and the vibes are impeccable for a casual meet up or a place to crash all day crank out some work.

I love Stereoscope Coffee so much. Their espresso is off the charts and they always have new coffee on bar to try. Today I had coffee from Papua New Guinea which had a bright fruity taste. Tomorrow who knows what I’ll have. The Service is amazing. The workers always bring you the coffee rather than calling out your name and forgetting about you immediately after. By now everyone must know me there and I try to leave good tips because I know how hard they work. I worked at Intelligentsia in 2014 and at Doubting Thomas during the pandemic so I know how hard it is to work in a coffee shop and how important good service is. That said, the people here will take care of you! I love the atmosphere here. Something about it helps me think and get work done. I always come here to write in my journal and plan my day. When I leave I’m always energized and ready to get things done. I hope the workers here know how much I appreciate them. They have seemed tired and overworked recently due to how successful they’ve made the shop. I hope they all can get a chance to rest. The shop is always full of people and the line never seems to end. Thank you for everything!

I love going on food tours, and I heard that this place is popular in the area for its great coffee, so I decided to check it out. Upon arrival, there's a parking lot on the right side of the coffee shop. It's free to use, so you can park conveniently. The interior of the store was smaller than I expected, but there were enough tables for about 6-8 groups to sit and spend time. But, the most important thing is the taste of the coffee, right? The coffee here is really excellent. Especially the hand-drip coffee they recommended has a unique flavor profile from the aroma to the taste. I found myself enjoying the aroma of the coffee and nodding in approval at its taste. If you're serious about the taste of coffee, I highly recommend this place.

I have been to 100+ coffee shops in LA and without doubt Stereoscope is my favorite. It takes me 45 minutes to get here and that's the journey I always look forward to. Stereoscope makes the most exciting cappuccino. Every single cup is consistently bright, clean, tasty, beautiful, served with warmth in a wonderful ceramic cup. When I venture out to other drinks, from Spanish latte to ceremonial matcha to espresso tonic and tea…I find the same recipe: simple and solid delivery, all sophistication hidden in the process. Excellence at Stereoscope goes beyond what's in the cup, and it feels both intentional and natural. The fantastic space is well designed to accommodate different activities and creates inspiring visuals. It's obviously to me that every detail of the whole experience is premeditated. I get goosebumps whenever I notice tiny things that make big differences. Nevertheless, nothing feels forced or dogmatic, because Stereoscope has the right people, for whom these aren't rules to follow, they are just the right ways to make coffee and care for people. It's a dream team. The way they greet you, say your name, make you coffee, serve it to you, and thank you when you leave...it is so genuine, so touching. I often visit the shop in gloomy early mornings, and Stereoscope never fails to cheer me up. Every cup feels like a love letter. The sky is still overcast when I walk out of shop, but I have been kissed by sunshine.

Kind service from a great duo of staff! I don’t think this place is the fastest café in the world but they definitely do an excellent job. Have loved all their espresso based drinks and matcha latte for years. Staff is so kind and you can tell they put so much care into making your drinks. You may wait a little bit longer than expected to order/receive your drink if there’s a small line but it’s absolutely worth it. Their service and quality shines as well when ordering delivery.

Great drinks. Great staff. Only complaint is that the shop is somewhat small and doesn't have too many seats so don't be surprised if you can't find a seat during busy hours. I love their ceremonial matcha drinks, their tea drinks, and their espresso drinks as well. Drinks are on their pricier side, but definitely quality. I was told the pastries were good but the croissant I tried was pretty subpar for the price.

Minimalist wooden hipster room. Yummy bold cappuccino and tasty “meat pie” that wasn’t quite warmed up enough. Quiet buzz that feels productive, however not very comfortable seats. Yet I find many cafés like this have been into the wooden block niche of furniture. I would go again. Typical speciality coffee shop prices.

J

While the line can sometimes get out of control this is my go to neighborhood coffee shop. I’m a simple man and they have that bold cold brew I long for and they consistently mixup the bean they used so you get to taste the full array of beans they offer day to day. I recommend just beware of longer lines after 9am and on weekends.

D
Dom Ku

This location is not as cool as the Hollywood location, but they don’t have as much room to play with. Hence, it feels oddly cramped. The line for ordering kinda just starts at the door. I ordered the seasonal sakura strawberry milk. I don’t think there’s much to judge on quality, it’s hard to mess up milk. The staff is very friendly.

A hip coffeeshop with modular furniture and a buzzing ambience. I got the matcha latte here, which was way too sweet — although that’s partially on me for not seeing if they had less sweet options. If you’re getting the matcha, be warned!

Fancy little cafe on Sunset Blvd. Minimalist vibes, seating is a bit uncomfortable (wooden benches and stools). A clean establishment and friendly staff. We ordered an Iced Madagascar Vanilla Bean coffee, Lychee-Peachy iced tea (ordered it lightly sweetened- yet still way too sweet.. I added water to it) and a cafe americano, delish. Also ordered a Vegetarian hand pie-not super flavorful. They delivered our order to the table which was a nice surprise. A chill place to read, or work. Seemed like the trendy spot to go despite being a bit over-priced.

Small coffee shop, cozy vibes. Cappuccino with Ethiopia Kayon Mountain (Orange Blossom, Yellow Peach, Juicy, Candied Ginger) - 4.5 stars Our favourite! Fruity and funky. After sipping the miso pumpkin latte and getting back to this, we got unctuous fermented jackfruit/durian flavours. Cappuccino with Guatemala Finca Pampojila (Passionfruit, Starfruit, Crisp, Cacao Nib) - 3.5 stars Pretty strong chocolate notes with an industrial aftertaste. Miso pumpkin latte - 3 stars Too overpowering, the spices and flavours could be taken down a few notches.

Having plenty of seats and tables as well as opening until early evening, Stereoscope coffee gave me perfect space to stop by, taking my time doing my stuff while getting my coffee. They didn't seem to offer any food, so it's the right decision coming post lunch. I went for their Madagascar Vanilla Latte, which was available in regular and large size. Substituting to non-dairy milk was available at kinda steep price tag compared to others commonly, adding $1.25. The service was much appreciated as the baristas were super helpful during the busy time, offering to deliver my coffee to the table given it took awhile for them to prepare for it. The coffee was decent though slightly too acidic for my preference. They did offer handful selection of tea should you fancy non-coffee option.

I had a Spanish latte here that was delicious, the cashier was very sweet but I dont know if it was just a busy day and their system of bringing coffees to each person made it seem chaotic but it is a tiny place that was super crowded. If I order ahead of time and happen to find a parking spot I would absolutely love to pick up a coffee here on the go but the atmosphere was just not for me. Don't let that keep you away because the coffee IS good.

M

Their to-go cups are a lawsuit waiting to happen. Poorly made and leaks everywhere. On my commute it was leaking all over the place and spilled on my work clothes. The lid was properly placed and yet everything was still dripping. It also took way too long for a simple americano

Overpriced. Charge $5 for a small bland madeleine. Coffee isn’t anything special. Obviously much better options around LA.

I understand the coffee hype for this place but the MATCHA HYPE??? The cermonial matcha was genuinely as grainy as sand and tasted like literal grass swamp water. Your matcha literally can’t lie when I get it unsweetened. It was $7.50 too!!! The tables gave me back problems and the outside area definitely has some … characters The coffee is redeemable and has a toffee-like note, so I think this would be fine to get, but don’t listen to the performative folks who like green sugar milk for any matcha recommendations.

This is what bad gentrification looks like. Pretends to be for the community but has a points system they don’t know how to use, and when customers try to use it they turn their nose up and treat you like you’re poor. Not worth the wait unless your primary concern is being seen at a scene.

I can understand if one drink is bad but two drinks is a telling sign. First time trying this place and the go too for drink is to over sweeten. It’s all about balance and this place doesn’t have it. They need to ask you how sweet you want it and not assume it’s 90% sugar.the vibe is good and the service good but I’m surprised how how busy it was for this subpar quality. Won’t be going back as I need to go get some salt to offset the sugar…

I’m a firm believer that local businesses with multiple locations should be consistent and more specifically, provide a consistent product and experience across the board. I absolutely love the Stereoscope in Hollywood and I visit that location on Santa Monica Blvd daily. The Hollywood location provides a high vibrational and clear atmosphere, and the baristas there are beautiful, kind angels that are masters at what they do. The lattes I purchase there at 6677 santa monica blvd are consistently exceptional. However, I had an exceptionally horrible experience at the Stereoscope in Echo Park. The barista’s were entirely incompetent in both their customer service skills and their technical abilities to provide the high quality and seamless lattes that I’ve come to love Stereoscope so much for. It took upwards of ten minutes to receive one single vanilla latte that I ordered. I can go to pine and crane and have Dan Dan noodles ordered and served at a sit down restaurant in 3 minutes flat. This is Los Angeles. It’s simply not acceptable. Up your game. The shop in Echo Park was not particularly busy either, as I came in 30 minutes before closing. I kindly asked if my latte was ready after standing staring there patiently for ten minutes and was met with annoyance, as if it were unbelievable and unfathomable that I had the audacity to ask if my single latte was prepared yet after waiting over ten minutes in a practically empty shop. At the Stereoscope in Hollywood, my coffee is handed to me, usually before I even finish paying. Mind you, that location is generally far more busy than the one in Echo Park. When I finally received my coffee, it was completely overfilled and leaking everywhere, and the lid was not secure. Whack. I’ve only visited the Echo Park location one another time, two weeks ago, and upon walking into the shop my friend and I were informed that the espresso machine was down, and that they had no coffee. Stereoscope is a coffee shop. You had one job and one job only. So that was also a truly outstanding and astounding experience as well. Moral of the story is, support Stereoscope, they’re amazing- but visit the Hollywood location by all means necessary. The experiences I’ve had at these two different locations are night and day.

RUDE MANAGER! I live in the neighborhood, ordered a matcha, their system glitched I paid for the order and they didn’t receive it. Showed them the money out of my account and they didn’t care. The manager just ignored me and went back to making drinks. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! Be more courteous and kind to your client. I paid for a drink, that I never got.
