Taquería El Retiro Abasolo Reviews
Delicious Mexican food, I love the posole on weekend mornings. The Molcajete He's amazing! And the price is just right. My first time there I got a great impression. I felt like in a small town restaurant where everybody knew everybody. And then when I ordered breakfast even better.
Food is great, either for a quick lunch or to sit there and enjoy your meal
The food was delicious, with great flavor and seasoning. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly. I will definitely be a returning customer.
Amazing flavors! We had el pastor tacos and they were soooo tasty! Plus the salsas they obviously make in house. If you’re in the area, you can’t go wrong eating here.
This small, hole-in-the-wall, family-owned restaurant serves authentic Mexican food. My husband had the grilled chicken plate and I had Papas-con-Huevo - both were delicious. AND they served HANDMADE corn and flour tortillas. I brought home the tortillas we didn’t eat - too good to pass up. We will go again.
This is one heck of unique spot. Its so popular, they opened another spot a few blocks down the street. The place is so seedy from the outside, its tough to even tell its a restaurant, but this is rather common for the area. Stepping inside and you quickly realize why its so full all the time. Its a wild little place reminiscent of old Htwn. Price was spectacular. Taste was something Id love to discuss with others, but I suspect this is classic Mexican flavor, as opposed to common Houston texmex flavor. I loved it. Parking is tricky at this joint. Fortunately I can just walk here, as I live around the corner.
For fast, affordable Mexican eats, try this place. Good breakfast and they have daily specials, all $5.99. Very friendly staff. There is minimal parking and the bathrooms are clean, but could be a little bit more presentable. All in all good enough to go there and I am sending my friends there as we speak.
Food was good. Came here for lunch. Beans was refried but the texture didn’t give me the assurance of authenticity. Overall, still did the job.
The food was good, but not for us. I don't think we got potatoes in our breakfast, I beleive it was yuca. La comida esta buena pero no tiene sabor a platos mexicanos.
Food is really good definitely homemade & fresh. Best barbacoa in town. Service is good by the waitress. There is a lady by the cashier she looks like she’s in charge, she charged me wrong. I payed for someone else’s bill. I’m understanding, I know mistakes happen but you should at least apologize. I think she expected for me to know what my table number was? Besides that food is great.
Had to do some banking around the corner. Google search showed this place above average for the area. Ordered the huevos divorciados. Supposed to be two eggs, one with ranchero sauce the other with green sauce. They only put ranchero on everything. Had to ask for salsa verde. The beans and potatoes were good. The salsa verde was awesome. The corn tortillas were the best I ever had.
Make sure you check your order. I ordered bacon and egg bf tacos, but I got egg and ham. Salsa verde was good. The ladies weren't friendly to me.
Decided to try this place for the first time after the good reviews. The staff was very friendly, but all the food was tasteless. All agreed at my table. To top it off, a couple of Mexican musicians walked in with a speaker and proceeded to blast their music that resounded back on the tile floors. Overall quite a disappointment, sorry to say.
My friends had an awful racist experience during the Beryl Hurricane at this restaurant. Everyone in the restaurant were given nice cups and saucers for their coffee while my friends, who are African-Americans were given cups that looked like they were bought at a garage sale, chipped and broken pieces mix match. Nothing uniformed like the others. They were the only African Americans there. Their waitress was the only positive thing they experience. Once they paid and were walking out the cashier asked them what they were doing in that area, were they working around there or did they move around there. None of her business of course. I think this was horrible.
