Sawan Indian Cuisine Aberdeen Reviews
Ordered veg lunch boxes from sawan and was really happy with the quality. The food was fresh, tasty, and felt homely. Good portion size and nicely packed. Perfect for a satisfying lunch. Highly recommended!
I love this restaurant so much. They were very nice. Friendly service and great food. The employees were very nice and the food was amazing. It was also quick service. I would definitely recommend coming here. It was a great place.
I’ve ordered veg and non-veg lunch boxes from sawan and honestly, it’s been a great experience. The food tastes fresh, homely, and well-balanced, just like proper homemade meals. The veg meals are simple, flavorful, and comforting, while the non-veg dishes are well-cooked, tasty, and not overly oily. Portions are filling, packaging is neat and hygienic, and everything arrives on time. Perfect option if you’re looking for daily lunch boxes that are affordable, consistent, and satisfying. Highly recommend Foodie Adda for anyone who wants good-quality meals without compromising on taste 👍I’ve been ordering veg and non-veg lunch boxes from Foodie Adda, and honestly, it’s been a great experience. The best and most authentic Indian food I've had in a very long time. Awesome service! I'll definitely be back to try more off the menu!
The food was really good. I enjoyed the spicy dishes and not-spicy ones as well.
Sawan Indian Restaurant is a hidden gem for authentic Indian cuisine. Every dish reflects rich flavors and true traditional taste. The Special Chicken Biryani is outstanding, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. Their Gunter Karam Dosa is a must-try, packed with bold and delicious flavors. The food quality is consistently excellent and satisfying. You can truly taste the authenticity in every bite. Recently added lunch boxes are a great option for busy days. They are generous in portion, very convenient, and incredibly tasty. The variety and freshness make it a top choice for Indian food lovers. Highly recommended for anyone craving real, flavorful Indian food
The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-presented. Portion size was satisfying, and the taste exceeded expectations. Would definitely recommend!”
I went there after the new management took over the atmosphere is more welcoming. Portions are big and hearty food was delicious over all I loved it
Visited recently, and I’m really glad I tried this place. If you enjoy Indian food, especially South Indian dishes, this spot is definitely worth visiting. The biryani was the highlight for me — flavorful, great spice balance, and perfectly cooked. The dosas and idly were fresh and soft, and tasted just like something you’d get at a good local spot in India. Overall, it’s a solid place for anyone looking for tasty, authentic Indian food without spending too much. I’ll definitely be going back!
Just had an amazing lunch at Sawan Indian Cuisine. Lunch was $18...i believe in the past it was $12.50... Food is fresh, really good - great service! Will def come again!
We recently visited Sawan for lunch now under new management and with a new menu. Although they had a lunch buffet available with both veg and meat dishes, we opted to try their dosas. Having had the original I was curious to see how good their Rameshwaram dosa was and we also tried the Karivapaku Karam dosa which we had never had before. The very friendly waiter said it was coated with a curry leaf spice mix and it was good. The Rameshwaram while not quite as good as the original (not sure if anyone can replicate that) was quite good, slightly thicker, very crispy on the outside and nearly fluffy on the inside. We also started off with idly which tasted very fresh and very soft. The sambar was hearty and I really liked the peanut and tomato/onion chutneys. I would have liked a coconut chutney option but I never asked to see if they had it available as service was a little spotty as it seems they are still finding their groove but no real issues. Rounded up to 5 stars based on the wonderful food. Hopefully they upgrade the decor (still the somewhat tired Sawan decor) but otherwise we’ll be back for sure and will try some of their other dishes. They seem to be running various discounted specials on weeknights so check their website if interested in that.
New ownership. More diverse menu. Food was very good. Will be back again. The salmon tandoori was delicious. Definitely spicy so go mild
I visited after the new management took over, and the difference is amazing! The food tastes so fresh and flavorful now. The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome. The buffet has plenty of delicious options and is very budget-friendly. I really enjoyed the food and overall dining experience. Definitely worth trying!
Had an amazing dining experience at Sawan Indian by Foodie Adda! The Butter Chicken was rich, creamy, and packed with authentic flavors, perfectly paired with the soft and buttery Garlic Naans. The Paneer Butter Masala was just as delicious — the paneer was fresh and melted in the mouth with every bite. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Special Chicken Dum Biryani — aromatic, flavorful, and layered with tender chicken and fragrant spices, truly a must-try for every biryani lover. To finish it off, the Gulab Jamun dessert was warm, soft, and soaked perfectly in syrup — a sweet ending to a delightful meal. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Indian food with great taste and quality! 🌟🍽️
Excellent customer service. If u want bland food or the spiciest food. They have got u all covered. Lovely authentic food. Pls do go here
Went with my family for dinner - food was delicious! The restaurant is under new management, so the menu and cuisine are now South Indian food. Don’t be deterred by poor reviews. We had a sumptuous feast with jackfruit biryani, dosas, uttapam, butter chicken, naan, and more. Everything was flavorful and the portions were generous. The food is spicier than the previous owners as South Indian food is, so perhaps that’s why some reviews had different experiences. I suggest folks order items as “mild” on their first visit if that’s a concern. Also the team was very kind and made us feel welcome. My family and I will definitely be coming back!
Ordered takeout recently and found the price and portions are a good value. However all of the food, especially the curries we ordered were extremely greasy! Eaten Indian food 100s of times at other places, and the level of grease here (especially after ownership change) is a different and unhealthy level. Urge new management and their chef to pls reduce the grease.
It had the feel of a mom and pop Indian food place. The food is a bit inconsistent unfortunately. I still like that they have a lunch buffet, although small. Last time they made us fresh naan bread and that was the best thing we had. I'll still go back, but I hope they make the buffet bigger and more consistently tasty.
Was our go to Indian restaurant for many years, went back last month to find new ownership, which was fine and we said lets give it another try which we did and notjing changed, Unfortunately the menu was cut over half, with many favorites gone. We used to always get 3 dipping sauces and bread when sitting that no longer done, simple things like that are huge for a customer. The service was extremely slow, not talking about the food prep but just getting an order in when there was only 1 table eating in. May give it one last try to see if anything changed which I doubt.
I ordered matar paneer curry. It was all curry, rich with heavy cream. There was hardly matar and paneer in it. Horrible taste. Will never go again there.
This restaurant is under new management, who should be embarrassed by how poorly they are running it. I ordered for takeout and when attempting to pick the order was told by a guy with a deer in the headlights expression that they have no record of my order. Thanks for wasting my time. Would not recommend. Edit: I find it amusing how quickly some rushed to defend this restaurant after my review. Draw your own conclusions.
