Spice 'N' Rice Addison Reviews
The food is always delicious and fresh, best biryani and samosas in town! This restaurant was one of the things I missed most in Richardson after living out of state -- glad we are back!
The best place to try authentic Bangladeshi food in DFW area. (Though it says Indian cuisine) Their “morog polao” & Mezban beef is a 10/10 item, other items are good too.
Great service, food is delicious and flavorful. Indo-Pak-Ban cuisine. They need to improve aesthetics of the restaurant and make it up-to date
Their Biryani is always yummy! Snacks are tasty too, do a bit of expensive than those of the Indo pak. Among the snacks, I love their black chola / Chana.
We found this spot driving by and we’re so glad we decided to stop. Chukri and haroon are just the kindest . The food was so delicious and halal. We got the goat korma was soo good with the garlic naan and rice. They also offered us to taste their chicken biryani which was piping hot and delicious . Me and my best friend will be telling all our friends to come here . YUMMY THANK YOU
We discovered Spice n Rice when we lived closer to it and fell in love with the flavorful curries, warm naan and crispy samosas. We live an hour away now but still come back as often as we can. Our favorite Indian restaurant, hands down!
Love this place! Delicious food, generous portions for a reasonable price. A little on the spicy side, though I've never asked if they can adjust the spice level.
We have been going to this place often during our Dallas trips!! If you are a Bangladeshi you must try their all samosa ( more like alu shingara) and puris( don’t have the photo of puri since we ate it). And usually we have rice with rui mach bhuna, shutki begun, daal and alo bhorta - the best combination!
Yes yes yes yes! Excellent experience all around. This family, service, environment, & food are phenomenal & authentic. They fed us more food than we could handle in 1 sitting (or even 2). If a gyro is on the menu, I am ordering it. I did & was not disappointed. In fact, the BEST I've ever had!
We ordered chicken biriyani. It was good, enjoyed my time there. Also ordered tea, but it was ok, not that good.
Great Indian Bangladeshi restaurant in Richardson, TX. Their beef Tehari was awesome along with beef curry. For appetizers, we had vegetable samosa which was delicious. Their prices are quite expensive considering per item can cost $12 to $16 dollars. But they have great curries, sizzling grilled items on the menu plus their Biryani’s are awesome. We would definitely recommend this place.
Good place for authentic Bangladeshi foods. Everything we tried was really good both in flavors and portions. They asked us for spice level and we asked to make it as they would back home and they clearly did! Everything was really spicy! So I would advise to ask for less spicy if too much heat is a concern. We had the pomfret curry. The fish was fried and then made in curry. The recipe was tasty with the right combination of spices and tomatoes. The fish wasn't smelly and I liked that it wasn't too oily of a dish. It came with white rice and a small portion of daal (lentil soup). The daal was very good and a bit spicy. We also ordered beef curry. The meat was well cooked and the right amount of tenderness. The gravy was thick and is not runny which I liked as I was actually wanted beef rezala but it wasn't on the menu. This was a good replacement and was very tasty. This came with polao rice which was also good. The other dish we ordered was the goat kacchi biryani. While it wasn't the "biye barir kacchi" recipe I was craving, it was still very tasty. I liked that it was authenticly Bangladeshi in its seasoning and preparation. We also ordered nuggets and fries for the kiddo. It was bland and basic for the kids. Food has to be ordered at the counter. There was only one guy working while we were there. He took our order and was very friendly and personable. It's so rare to get decent service at these places so this was a pleasant surprise. However, I don't doubt any reviews that complain of bad service. Your results may vary! I would definitely come back to try some other items, especially since the only other restaurant serving Bangladeshi foods nearby seems to not care about running a business anymore.
Good tasty Indian food, in the middle of Richardson. Clean restaurant, good food. The choice is a little limited though. The music in the restaurant reminded me of old India. For an instance, I felt like I was in Old Delhi. We had Naan, with grilled chicken, prawn curry and kadhai chicken. The grilled chicken was a little hard, but the rest of the food was good. After some 2 years I went to this restaurant few days ago to satisfy my appetite for desi food and it was a great disappointment. I ordered Rohu fish curry that came with steamed rice and daal. It was spicy as hell. Even the daal also turned out to be really spicy, despite the fact that I precisely told them to make it mild while ordering. I had to take medicine to get rid of my heartburn after eating there. It was a horrible experience. I am taking out one star from the rating for my horrible experience. However, the Nepali server was really good. He is an asset to the restaurant.
I haven’t visited this restaurant in years, and I was actually considering giving it another try. Before going back, I checked recent reviews — and I was disappointed by the situation where a customer was denied a simple, quick prayer. What surprises me most is that many non-Muslim establishments will happily accommodate a two-minute prayer in a quiet corner, yet a Muslim Bangladeshi owner refused it. That, along with my past experience of the food not being very fresh, makes me feel uncomfortable returning. I hope the owner reflects on how important respect and accommodation are to the community.
Owner of this restaurant is very rude. He is a muslim bangladeshi guy refused us to do magrib prayers in his restaurant. I wish him well. But I'm very disappointed about his rubness. Food was not too good. Mezbani beef was just regular beef curry. Beef tehari had no meet. I will never go back to this place again.
Worst place ever to dine in. Goat biriyani is overcooked without any spices. Goat in goat biriyani is dry as wood and smells rotten. Nearly vomited in the first bite. Butter chicken is raw and a couple of bandages and medicine can make the chicken alive again. I paid 50$ for the rotten food. only edible item they serve is water
Update 5/27/22 Something changed and everything is worse, much worse. The goat “Kacchi” is at best an insult to “Kacchi”. The beef Tehari was another abomination. It was yellow with hard blackened pieces of meat. I thought perhaps the beef Haleem would be the saving grace for tonight but it was equally hopeless. This was never a Michelin star quality restaurant, but not this BAD. What happened? Perhaps the new cooks ended up here courtesy of the “Tarzan Visa” program? ———-//——- Beef curry is awesome - as authentic as it gets here in North Dallas.
