Avellino Albans Reviews
My best friend and I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner, and it could not have been a more perfect decision. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for something special. To begin, our server was truly exceptional — easily one of the best we’ve ever had. She knew the menu with effortless confidence and spoke about each dish the way a sommelier speaks about a favorite vintage — with clarity, detail, and genuine appreciation. My best friend has several food allergies, and our server went above and beyond by consulting with the chef to ensure every ingredient was safe. Because of her attentiveness, my friend was able to enjoy her meal fully and without worry, which meant everything to us. As for the food — it was simply flawless. The oysters were impeccably fresh, tasting as though they had just been harvested from the sea. The pasta was rich and luxuriously creamy, perfectly seasoned and beautifully balanced. Every bite felt intentional and refined. The drinks were thoughtfully crafted and well-measured, allowing us to savor them without feeling overwhelmed by alcohol — balanced, smooth, and enjoyable. The atmosphere only elevated the experience. The restaurant was immaculate and tastefully decorated, exuding a sense of understated elegance that made the evening feel even more special. All in all, it was a beautiful birthday dinner — one marked by outstanding service, exquisite food, and an ambiance that made the night unforgettable.
Had a great business dinner here. The vibe is really cool and upscale but not too stuffy, though it definitely stays busy and has a lot of energy. The service was easily the best part of the night. Our server was amazing, and they even brought out a few complimentary dishes for us to try, which was a really nice touch. The octopus was delicious and the rigatoni was spot on. Also, definitely grab an Old Fashioned if you’re into cocktails; they make a great one. It’s an expensive spot, and a few things felt a bit pricey for the portion, but since the food and service were so good, I didn’t mind as much. Perfect place if you’re looking to have a nice night out in DC.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Their gluten free menu does not disappoint. The GF pasta was heavenly. The drinks were made perfectly. All of the food was delicious. We had oysters, prosciutto service, burrata salad, bine in Ribeye, the bronzino, eggplant parm, short rib, shrimp scampi, crab brushetta and more!
Had a fab solo date here! Katie was nothing short of amazing. Will be back soon.
One of my favorite spots! I’ve been here many times for dinner, but this was our first happy hour. I cannot rave about it enough. Their happy hour is Monday-Sunday 3-6pm. Many drink options and lots of variety for food too. Fast service, phenomenal cocktails, and fun atmosphere. House music, dimmed lights, it’s a vibe.
RPM never misses. One of the best espresso martinis ive ever had in the DC area, and don’t get me started on the carrot cake. Tim gave us the best service and was amazing from start to finish. Highly recommend if you want scratch made Italian food and amazing cocktails.
One of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant, hands-down. The food was cooked to perfection. The support staff and my server (Sal) were all incredible—diligent, respectful, and professional. Chef Leo personally came out to our table to make sure everything was running smoothly, and everything was absolutely perfect. Definitely a must-see in Washington, DC. I will 100% be coming back. Thank you to all who took care of me and my wife!!!
I love this place so much. My fiancé and I have been there together twice- once with his family for his mom's 60th and tonight for our anniversary. Both times the food has been incredible and the service is unmatched and they made us feel so special. Tonight specifically, they sat us at a two top which but after we ordered an appetizer we thought we wouldn't have enough room for plates because we wanted to get a bunch of things and share. We asked to switch to a larger table and they accommodated us no problem. Michael was our server and he offered so many suggestions and insights that we loved. This place is such a staple for us and we will always recommend!
I entered feeling under dress based on the ambiance , but as we got in we saw that it was mix vibes & crowd. We stoped in before going to the concert so only got drinks from happy hour & dessert. Everyone got a different item I highly recommend the pumpkin cheesecake. The prices weren’t to bad same average for DC & the area. I also tried this delicious ice cream cake which they light on fire table side. It was sooo good.
Michael was EVERYTHING. Ask for him. We could have listened to him speak about the menu all evening. Like dinner and a show, he's that epic of a server! Food was second only to his service, everything was a hit. We had a family party of 8 here and it was spectacular. Cocktails were fantastic. Try the veal special, squid ink pasta, and you must get the pistachio gelato!!! The private room is truly private for parties with young children.
So yummy! The service is a bit slow, but the atmosphere is lovely and the food is delicious! I definitely want to come back. Two minor complaints: would have preferred to not have the fried lemon in the frito misto - I was expecting calamari and it was a lemon, lol. And the Cesar, I wish they asked before peppering it. But other than that, amazing,
Best Italian experience you can have in Washington! We are amazed by RPM, best Italian food you can have here and best service ever. From the beginning, Kat was amazing! She is so kind and so professional, she speak even a perfect Italian so if you want some explanation about the food she will very happy to help you. About the food, we tried different plates and everyone was absolutely perfect! I really suggest you to try the truffle pizza and the ribeye, FENOMENAL. The pasta is also fresh made and perfectly cooked and you can also feel the freshness of the ingredients! RPM is one of the place where you have to stop if you visit Washington or if you live here, you for sure will come back again!
My wife and I went here for our 1st wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty. The vibes were incredible. The staff were true professionals, we were more than taken care of during our time spent here. Food was delicious and portions were plentiful - neither of us left hungry. But leave space for dessert - the flaming ice cream cake was outstanding. Cocktails were extraordinary - definitely get an espresso martini (or 2). Can’t recommend enough, our time at RPM was a night to remember.
Server was on point and the atmosphere felt very welcoming. I went here to eat dinner with my family for my graduation dinner and it was delicious. The only complain was the pasta was a tad bit under. Other than that all dishes were excellent. Potato puree, side of mushrooms, and ceaser salad were amazing. The dessert was easily my favorite part. I was treated to a Bomboloni as the server was attentive knowing I graduated. Again this was top service. Lastly, the Salted Caramel Meringata was one of the best desserts I’ve had and it looked similar to the famous Baked Alaskan dessert in terms of presentation. Highly recommend.
RPM Italian deserves five stars across the board — from the atmosphere and ambiance to the outstanding customer service, attentive wait staff, and exceptional food. Our large party was treated to more than just a meal; we were given a true dining experience. Our waitress was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also shared interesting insights into Italian customs, which added a special touch to our evening. The food was excellent — flavorful, well-balanced in texture, and offered a great variety from appetizers to main courses. One suggestion for improvement: it would be helpful if the host staff inquired about food allergies upon seating. I only discovered the availability of a gluten-free menu after the appetizers had already been served and had to request it myself. Despite that minor hiccup, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely return the next time we’re in the DC area. Highly recommend!
From the cozy lighting to the soft Italian music, RPM feels like the perfect spot for a romantic meal. But what really blew me away was the service—super friendly, attentive, and smooth from start to finish. The food came out at just the right pace, and as soon as I finished a dish, my plate was whisked away like magic. And the food? Incredible—fresh pasta, perfectly cooked steak, and the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. Everything felt effortless and well taken care of. If you’re looking for a special place to enjoy amazing Italian food, this is it!
I took my mom and grandmother to RPM for Mother’s Day, and overall the experience was very good. The atmosphere is upscale and well suited for special occasions. The food was flavorful, well presented, and met expectations for a celebratory meal. There was an issue with our receipt that was not handled smoothly at first. Our waitress made an error, and the initial interaction regarding the correction could have been more professional. However, once the manager became involved, the matter was addressed promptly and resolved appropriately. While the service misstep was disappointing — especially during a holiday celebration — management handled the recovery well. With more consistent front-line execution, this would have easily been a five-star experience.
It was very good. My meal was good, I had the bolognese. Portions were on the smaller side. Desserts were also very tasty. I really enjoyed the carrot cake. But just like many upper end restaurants, I don't think it was quite worth the cost - judgement call, of course. There was valet parking.
Great food but somewhat small portions. Appetizers we got were whipped ricotta (so good), artichoke (really unique and yummy) and the Italian salad, which had a slight kick. All were great for four of us to share! Short rib Pasta, spicy crab and prosciutto tortellini were all delicious! The drinks and service for wine options were amazing. Someone saw us trying to decide and came right over and offered us a taste and with that we decided on two bottles - white and red. Great experience overall.
Thought the food was pricier than the taste to back it up. The squid ink pasta just tasted like normal pasta, just with black dye and the seafood risotto just tasted like rice with a prawn on it. Didn't get desiccant flavors like I thought I would. Drinks were solid, cheesecake was great, and service was great as well. I would come back because of the potential.
We had a birthday dinner here for a group of 12, and it was super easy to coordinate. We were seated in the bar area, which was lively. The overall vibe is really nice—definitely a good spot for a date night, girls’ night out, or even a group celebration. As for the food... it was just okay. Nothing really stood out as amazing, but nothing was bad either. It feels like one of those places that’s more about the atmosphere than the food itself.
