Brilliant atmosphere, fab Sunday afternoon in the garden. All staff were super, really made us welcome. Can’t recommend it enough.
Called here at the end of a walk needing food. We got it, very good it was too. Service was excellent even though the publican was on his own. He was very pleasant and friendly. Thoroughly recommend this place.
Really nice village pub. The waitress we had was amazing and they were very accomodating with our 6 month old as well. The Sunday roast was great!
Loved it! We popped in for a catch up with friends. Beautiful setting, tasteful decor and the staff were fantastic, especially with the kids!
Friendly place. We were welcomed. Food and drink lovely.
Lovely little pub in beautiful village with food concession outside, will definitely come again, some tea lights in the darker areas would be really nice and cosy and would make it more welcoming
Beautiful pub in a lovely location! Warm welcome too!

Lovely family friendly pub, great staff, good choice of drinks and mulled wine!
Brilliant night at the 3 blackbirds on Saturday 27th October. MJ was awesome, as were the other folk there. We had such fun, After a busy day at work. The beer was lovely and staff very welcoming. Looking forward to future events. All my friends were jealous of our evening with MJ. Let's c what the mighty Elvis can do 😊

An excellent local pub, friendly team and good food, exactly what you want from a village pub
Lovely family friendly pub, new owner was very welcoming. We are not local to Flamstead but I would definitely visit this pub again.
Helen is very welcoming and the Sunday roast was delicious. We will be back!
Great Sunday roast for Mothers Day. Was a cold at end of restaurant srea. Could have done with fire being lit. Under new management again. Hope they manage to make a go of it.
Lovely pub- great staff, food, and atmosphere. Had a quacking time.
Lovely place, amazing atmosphere. New owner Helen is giving new life to this place.. Delicious food made by Dean.. I definitely recomend this place and will be coming back often..
This village pub is a delight to visit. It’s under new management. The new owner is highly welcoming. There a lovely gated garden - great for if you have small kids in tow! Dog friendly too. Will visit again.
Lovely food and customer service was great! Definitely will be back soon
This was our first visit to this lovely little pub which has new owners who are working very hard to make it an excellent place to visit. Much care has been taken over the outdoor space which is now fenced in so suitable for children. The tables are being painted and there was a potted plant on each one. The toilets (I only visited the ladies :) were top class and the little fairy lights in the bar gave it a cosy feel. We received a very friendly welcome and would certainly visit again when we are in the area.
Have just arrived home from having a fabulous Roast lunch with our family at the Three Blackbirds Flamstead. Under New Management including New Chef, the standard of welcome and food is set high.. The Roast had a choice of Beef, Pork and Chicken. All were beautifully cooked, and presented. Vegatables were perfect and looked vibrant on the plate. We will return next week and highly recommend that you will visit.
Great place to stop at. Food was great. Staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back. .
The landlady is a beautiful soul! Very bubbly and runs the place amazingly
Amazing pub, amazing food and amazing landlady & staff!
Realy nice pub food is wonderful and good value
Really nice pub with friendly staff and excellent food. We were staying at the Premier Inn and wandered up to the village rather than eat in the Harvester next door. Well worth it. We don't know what the food is like in The Spotted Dog nearby, but were very happy on reflection that they don't seve food in the evenings!
Warm and welcoming village pub. Great decor in an ancient building. Terrific, friendly service. Limited gluten free options for coeliac at present but this is to be improved in an imminent overhaul to the menu. Will definitely return the next time we visit local friends.
A fantastic renovation and dedicated, professional staff with renewed passion have created a wonderful venue for good food at any time of the day. The salt and pepper squid was lovely, as was the ham egg and chips and the ribeye steak. Do give it a go, even if you have been there before, it really is a very nice place to experience good food and great service.
Enjoyed a lovely meal in this delightful, recently renovated pub. The innkeeper was friendly and accommodating, so much so that he even popped down to the local shop to bring my dad a much-longed-for pork pie. (Dad hadn’t been back to England in many years and was craving his old favorite snack!) The menu selections ranged from typical pub fare to new-fangled and vegetarian/vegan friendly, as well as gluten free options. Our meals were delicious, especially the halloumi ‘burger’... thumbs up all around. The presentation was also lovely: burger platters were wooden boards, and chips (fries) were served in decorative ‘deep-frying’ baskets. A truly pleasant experience. Highly recommended.
Just popped by for a meeting held here so haven't tried the food yet, but really lovely old pub with a cozy atmosphere, would recommend!
Great lunchtime menu good value 2 courses for £10.00 and the puddings are amazing homemade.
New owner is wonderful and a breath of fresh air after the last owner! Lovely village pub, dog friendly, you will be made to feel very welcome. Highly recommend!
Really lovely food and a great service. Highly recommend the fish and chips
Absolutely Belting. Best place in the area by miles Nice friendly pub, great drink selection and awesome well priced food. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Will come back!
Turned up at 3pm mid week not expecting to be able to get food, but arrived to a very warm welcome and enjoyed a great pint and fab peanut butter burger. Highly recommended - exactly what a pub should be.
Lovely place great chef and beer is very well kept. Nice and clean environment, and has some great character. Would recommend it to anyone. Best pub in the village.
The pub has reopened under new management, serving Chinese food. so we decided to pay a visit and we weren’t disappointed! From the moment we walked in, the new managers - Gosia and De - gave us the warmest of welcomes, and every single member of staff was friendly and attentive. The renovation is stunning; you can really see the care and attention to detail that has gone into every corner of the place. It feels fresh and inviting while still having that great traditional pub atmosphere. We stayed for drinks before ordering a takeaway, and honestly it was one of the best we’ve had. We had menu D. The food was absolutely first class and we will definitely be back for more. A fantastic local gem that has been given a new lease of life. Highly recommended!
I had the most wonderful experience the other day with excellent service food was wonderful the lady behind the bar Cody was extremely helpful and kind , will definitely be going again !
Lovely landlady, some great entertainment and food is on point
Lovely Sunday roast. Lots of room and plenty of tables. Good range of beers. Good atmosphere, good price and friendly service.
Wonderful pub, great land laby, looking forward to going back
Lovely little pub. Friendly staff, good food and drink. Lots to do with pool table, dart board, music and events
There were 10 of us who arrived at lunch and Helen was on her own. She had to do all the cooking and serving and even made an apple crumble for Brian. You couldn’t have got better service
An unexpected surprise. A lovely local pub! Bar staff with Durham accent was exceptional
Don't judge a book by its cover, the food was fabulous, the landlady was very friendly we stayed 6 hours. Prices were very reasonable. Thanks for making us welcome 🙏
Lovely food, lovely old pub from mid 1500's, lovely landlady. We were well looked after and accommodated. Definitely will be going again.
We stopped for a lunch on Monday so it was a bit quiet. Traditional pub were kids and dogs are welcomed. Landlady was very friendly and the food she prepared was very tasty. There is parking next to the pub for about four cars.
We stopped here on our way home for something to eat, the landlady was really welcoming and accommodating for our dogs. We were served promptly and the food was good quality and served with a smile, we were checked on regularly to see if we needed anything. We would recommend a visit and if we are in the area again we will definitely drop in.
Such a great pub, and Helen is a lovely landlady! Great food and drinks; immaculately maintained bathrooms and outside garden area. Would highly recommend!
We were greeted with a lovely smile and hello !, the minute we walked in. There’s a theme in this pub which the kids all love. I won’t spoil the surprise! We ordered our food which arrived promptly and was delicious and nutritious also filling. We were asked a couple of times if everything met our standards which it very much did. What a down to earth, friendly, place for regulars, families and couples. Definitely would go back at the drop of a hat even though it’s a fair drive away from where we live. Thanks very much guys
We had such a wonderful experience at Helen’s lovely pub The Three Blackbirds in Flamstead! From the moment we arrived, Helen made both myself and my husband feel genuinely welcome with her warm hospitality and exceptional attention to detail. We chose to sit outside in the sun in the beer garden, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere — I had a Whiskey and Dry Ginger, and my husband Simon had a Coke. The food was fantastic, great value for money and absolutely delicious (there wasn’t a single leftover!). The chips, in particular, were incredibly tasty. Even the IT gentleman we briefly met was lovely, which just added to the friendly and welcoming environment. Helen has only recently taken over, but it’s clear that her wonderful personality and genuine care for her customers will inspire real loyalty. If we hadn’t needed to head back up towards London, we would have happily stayed much longer. We would highly recommend this pub and its food to anyone passing through. Well Done Helen and your team. Regards, Val and Simon Middlesex
Friendly welcome at a delightful half-timbered village pub. Good size portions of hearty pub grub inc veggie/ vegan options. Only 1 real ale on at my visit, a local Tring pale, which did the job to accompany the food.
Great village pub, highly recommended.
Very nice hosts....food was good ....will go back in the evening to see what the atmosphere is like
Kitchen closed on Tuesday so we just had a drink. Warm, friendly with pool table.
A very nice village pub had a lovely pint of Guinness.
Amazing roast dinner and good selection of ales. Overall, nice and friendly.
Friendly efficient service. No red wine but otherwise a pleasant visit.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Two nice ales, an extensive menu. The food was very nice, tasty with good sized portions. Beer and food were reasonably priced. Worth a drive out to visit.
Great place to go for Sunday lunch. Food cooked well and lots of it. Would of been 5☆ but just a bit more attention to cleaning of tables in between customers would be good
Great great burger. Would have been better on a plate rather than a chopping board but beautiful nontheless! Warm and hospitable place and reasonably priced.
Great family atmosphere in the pub this afternoon: a good number of families, with children ranging from toddlers to teenagers, many watching the rugby.
Loaded chips chilli style dripping in Mozzarella is pukka for 8 quid...you will never freeze in this gaff ...you will find yourself stripping off when the radiators are on...& dont you know they have a great pool table too ....parking is limited with a small garden area 😁
We had a brilliant meal here on Saturday 18-08-2019. The food was terrific and the service excellent. First time here in company after the restaurant reopened and very pleasantly surprised.
Friendly service, standard pub food. Good beer on tap
Fish and chips was so big that it put me off. It was piled into the plate so that I had to move the fish around to get to the chips! It was enough for 2 people. Fish was a good quality though or I would have given it a lower rating.
Recently renovated pub, really nicely done. They managed to squeeze us in last min. No carvery left bar menu only which was lovely food. Had bit of a wait though. ( new ownership , teething problems) will go again though.
New owners so everyone learning as they go. Emergency chef for the day struggled to make mash potatoes! Pleasant staff. Potential to be good. Lovely quaint pub in a pretty village.
Beware this pub has changed hands again 😲 We booked a table for 5 ten days ago and confirmed Sunday evening because it was said the pub was closed on the net. All ok until we turned up to find a workman just leaving and the pub empty on finding a member of staff they said the person that accepted the booking forgot to mention that the pub doesn't now open until 4pm, not good when our booking was for 12:30pm 😕
Absolute joke of a place, £16 for a burger and chips in a box? Landlady and her helper rude pulling faces to people during the scarecrow festival, conning young families and people. Then they say support local business, no thanks never again.
