Boobie Trap Albans Reviews
Amazing bar with free board games, extremely cheap beers and free shots! Fantastic bar amenities and decorations
Rock and Roll Metal scene that is a sister bar to pizza party next door. Has an assortment of bar games and tons of toilet paper in the bathroom.
Friendly people. Good old school punk playlist. Cheap drinks and a fun vibe. Loved it!
Low price beer/shot combos, cool decorum/lighting; in short, a lot of fun! Plus they accept credit cards!
Great bar. Bartenders are awesome. Board games, specials, good vibes
So fun! Wanna color! Wanna play board games? Wanna enter s bathroom with boobies on the ceiling? Well welcome!
Small spot but great drinks and they have games to play, and bartenders are so fun and friendly
Cute little spot. They have games and good drinks. Ask for Tricia shes the best !
Great place to chill and play board games with friends. Bar tenders are amazing!
One of my favorite spots. But best to get here before 8 or 9pm on weekends, because it gets obnoxiously crowded.
Best vibes, best sun 🌞😎 best bartender -- first time here , think i found a new fav place (oVo) #aroundridgewood
Friendly atmosphere. Great bartenders who make delicious drinks. The owner is extremely friendly and down to earth. Best bloody-merry drinks.
Awesome bar with candy jars on the bar, sassy take-away lighters, amazing decor, and a fair trade of whole bottles of liquor in exchange for one sacrificed man bun. Look for the snipped buns hanging on the wall!
Am I so feel like this bar has become a staple of the neighborhood that surrounds it, I don't go there that often but I see the same people that I saw years ago and that brings me joy. The atmosphere is of his own caliber, The people Are so Brooklyn 2010s and twenties to go lol you guys will enjoy a drink at this place #BringBackThatOldEnglish
This place is absolutely epic the staff the people the atmosphere all amazing honestly I makes me feel welcomed every minute I was there and I highly recommend this bar to everyone that drinks and like to have fun they even have boardgames definitely gonna head back here again and again
Super fun and a bit silly decor and theme. Good drink specials, nice staff, some games. Just a cool hangout spot!
Make sure you bring your A+ 🎮 to this hot spot. All the pretty peeps migrate here. We all loved it. Cheap tall boy + shot combo for $6!
Really chill local bar that has some outdoor seating and bar games. Drink specials are great. This may be my new go to.
Fun place! Staff and owner were so friendly! We had a great time.
The best bar in bushwick. The staff here is awesome and the best. They make everyone feel welcomed. Great drinks
just another dive bar in the hood. don't come here with expectations or else theyre probably not gonna be fulfilled. just come here to get drunk around some like minded people who gentrified a hood to make it their own.
I have so much fun here! Good place for cheap, casual drinks and letting loose with friends
Good drinks, great people, free lighters. Nice outdoor Covid set up. Grab a to go drink when you leave.
Friendly neighborhood spot with a lot of personality. Board games are available if you feel like doing something while you sip.
Fun, warm, and welcoming neighborhood bar. Lots of effort went into the decor. Wrap around outside seating and and great beer/shot specials make it a perfect place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.
I love going here for two reasons, the decor and the bartender is consistently equal parts no more no fuss, and friendly! Music can be better but I still love going here with some friends and alone!
I loved my first impression of this place. My first night visiting Brooklyn, I walk in and see two guys playing with toys at the bar. The place was full of them, and the vibe was edgy in the best way. I played with a Tech Deck and enjoyed an affordable beer/shot combo at the bar. Even when the place is packed, it doesn't feel cramped. You can let your guard down here, nobody will judge you. If I lived in Brooklyn, I would be a regular at Boobie Trap. ✓ Cheap drinks ✓ Great staff ✓ Charging Station ✓ Toys
Great bar !! The ambiance is great, the lady at the bar was super friendly, had great energy ! We came by during a drag night, the drag queens were A M A Z I N G !!! Cocktails are delicious and pretty huge !! Would recommend
One of my favorite bars in Brooklyn. Friendly and fun staff, cheap drinks, the environment is so fun and there are so many things to do there too! From coloring books to battleship - even pictionary! Such a fun hang!!
Shedding some light on the 1-star reviews. If you come here, expect good drink deals and snark from the bartender. It’s part of the charm. Deal with it or don’t go, it’s up to you. I’ve had a great time whenever I’ve stopped by.
Such an awesome bar! They have games, coloring, fun decor, awesome music, greatly priced drinks and friendly staff. Loved it! Totally recommend!
Not one but three different beer/shot combo specials! This place is the quintessential dive--great crowd, cheep drinks, kitschy ambience, and some nice beat-up board games to top it all off.
I had to take my man bun out for fear of the free drinks which would follow its chopping. Great place. Appreciate the Wash room doorbell. Would recommend again and again!
Christine is an A M A Z I N G hostess and I loved spending my time in there. I can say that winning two round of connect four has influenced this, but the good drinks and amazing service influenced me more
My favorite bar in Brooklyn! I had only ever heard or such a magical place and I'm so glad we went to grab a drink here because now every time I come to Brooklyn I have to stop by here ᕙ༼◕ ᴥ ◕༽ᕗ
Open as of January 2020 w/ ample outdoor seating! Hot toddies! Friendly staff! No heat lamps! They take credit cards and Venmo!
Great atmosphere! Board games and cool decor! It looks very trendy, but is also very welcoming with a great local feel.
Great bar with great deals.
Super friendly establishment. Excellent service. Nicest bartenders. Generous pours. Plenty of board games to keep you entertained. Great drink deals. If you have a man bun, consider getting it cut for a bottle here.
This place is an absolute gem! Atmosphere was friendly, the coworkers amazing and while the bar does play toward their gimmicks it makes it all the more special. If you are with a partner or friend who appreciates the fun and quirks of life, go here!
went here for my 21st birthday two days ago, it's such a fun bar and the bartenders were out of this world kind! granted not much to compare to because it's only been a day since and i haven't been to many bars yet but i will be most definitley be coming back, frank gave me some lovely suggestions for how to drink alcohol safely and told me about two other cool nearby bars that we went to afterwards and the woman working i never caught the name of but she was so funny, immaculate vibes on her and the entire bar in general, honorable mentions to the wall of fake ids, yelp reviewer shame poster, man buns hanging on the wall, the amount of toilet paper rolls they have on the bathroom wall, and just how ✨PINK✨ the entire place was 10/10 bar across the board i loved it <3
Very interesting bar. I love the decor and the vibe. Bartender girl was hella cool. We got flamingo bongs which were cheap. Drinks are cheap in general. And they have a plethora of games so you don’t get bored.
A unique bar that is a great place to pregame or land after a crazy night. The cheerleader is the owner and if you cut your man bun you get a free bottle
Bartenders were nice and friendly! Cheap drinks, no tap though mostly cans. However good selection of tall boys so that is dope. Love the neon and man bun special ( cut your man bun and get a bottle of liquor )
This is a very fun and chill place. We stayed here for a little bit waiting to get dinner with someone. The board games, well-priced cocktails, and relaxed atmosphere made it a great experience.
One of the last great dive bars in NYC. Bring your own food or much on some tasty potato chips available for purchase
10/10 go and dont be a weird creep and youll have amazing time
So fun and amazing games! Like giant uno and etc etc
This is one of our favorite bars, we come here at least once a week. The drink menu has a little bit of everything: cocktails, beers, seltzers, margarita pints! It’s a great place to hang out for a few hours, play some board games, and just chill. The décor is exactly what you’d expect from a place called Boobie Trap. It’s rarely too crowded, so you can almost always grab a seat at the bar or one of the tables. They open at noon (yes, noon, early drinkers, rejoice!), and there’s an amazing pizza spot right across the street if you get hungry. Just be nice to the staff, they’re awesome and they’ll treat you the same way.
Me and 2 friends stoped by for a few drinks and Ronan it was the best, she was so welcoming and friendly, the decor it was so cool and fun, we will definitely be back! Hugs to the best bartender 💟
Just the best place. Same bartender who's there just about always, super kind and inclusive. Immaculate decor. Banger drinks. You really can't go wrong with this place. Play some games and get an electric lemonade :) ... I think that's what it's called (it did the job so the name is a little fuzzy)
A fun themed bar with great service, cute coloring pages and crayons to doodle with, free pink lighters. Themed bars are the way to go, and this one doesn't disappoint - we have been a few times and our go-to is the outside seating when the weather is warm and nice, not to mention entertaining to watch as passers by interact with their outside sidewalk decor ❤️ 10/10, with fair prices and fun servers/bar tenders!
Definitely a vibe worth checking out. Old school board games galore, reasonably priced drinks, and witty and comical signs all around. Also, apparently if you are looking to get a ‘manbun’ chopped you could score a free bottle and have your hair featured alongside the other buns. Definitely a fun bar worth checking out, the drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is friendly.
This bar is one of the best bars I've been to. Both the atmosphere and the vibe are really chill. The decor is really cool and weird in the best way possible. Their prices are good and they also have board games which are a great thing to have at a bar. The bartender who was there when I went was amazing, her energy and service was top notch! Definitely looking forward to the next time I go there.
A fun-filled spot with lots of whimsical stuff. I especially loved the doll chandelier in the restroom.
Funky bar situated in a lowkey neighbourhood. Had a good time getting drunk at the bar and talking to the intimidating looking yet friendly barmaid.
Just popped in for a quick beer on a super hot day while in the neighborhood. Cool vibe, prices seemed pretty good. Would go back if ever in the neighborhood
Drinks were good and well priced, bartender was prety rude. The outdoor picnic tables are located next to the garbage, I recommend sitting inside if it's not too crowded. Bar has a cool vibe and board games available to play with.
Fun and awesome atmosphere. I love their root beer floats but they're always out of Bailey's, they need to stock up on more of it cause it's obviously a very popular drink for them. I love that their tables have board games on them and they have more options on the side which is super fun. They also have naked women to color in, you get the crayons from the bar tender. The bathrooms are unique and super funny. There is a pee pee panic button which is great for a bar. And if you're a chick or have long hair there are puke hair ties which are great.
GREAT VIBE such a cool spot. Unfortunately gets crowded very quickly as it's so small :/
It's a local neighborhood dive bar with a laid-back atmosphere. While I'm not particularly fond of their drink selection, I usually opt for hard seltzer. It's always a great time with friends, especially when we're playing board games!
Good bar to stop by for a quick drink, games, funky atmosphere, I've had mixed encounters with this bar, I think it depends on whose behind the bar, had good times and iffy times, unfortunately the most recent encounter there the bartender had a pretty shi**y vibe, semi rude, everyone has their days. There's better bars within I 10min walk.
Definitely catering to a niche market. The drink options are very limited and the aesthetic is trying way too hard to be edgy. But they do have games and some swag. So, that's cool
three stars cos the decor is awesome and the drinks are cheap. two stars not given cos every time I've walked in, the bartenders are absolutely plastered off their faces. like, couldn't even serve a drink, plastered. but hey, it's Bushwick.
It's a bar that attracts the stereotype of Bushwick--electric/eccentric/hipster crowd with their beanies and round spectacles, boots, and punk-rock/metal attire. That's this place. I've walked by several times and it's the same thing--it doesn't change, which could be good or bad depending on where you fall in the description above. I went here Halloween weekend and it was cool, mellow vibe. We were hoping to hop over across the street for a slice of pizza, but didn't make it. From what I remember, they give you a decent amount of liquor. We only had shots that night so, I have no idea what the other drinks were like. It's less hipster than another bar I've been to in Bushwick (starts with a B off Jefferson and Broadway). Their hot pink neon sign "f**k off" is what most intrigues me about this place. It's not terrible, but it's also not a place where I would consider going to again. It's not the people or vibe, I think there wasn't anything memorable or appealing about it. It'll just be a bar I can say I went to, but would never go back to again, plenty of bars in NYC after all. This certainly isn't one that's worth repeating.
Overall rating: 3.8 Definitely more of a Sunday afternoon energy than a late night bar hop. A Saturday late night at around 8pm was not it. It was very dead and a little sad. There’s a credit card minimum which I wish we knew before we ordered. I came here a few years ago PC (pre-Covid), but the place has changed a bit. Not sure if this is the place for me.
Chubby bartender sucked. She assumed my friend and I were going to walk out on our tab the second we walked in. Got horrible service and for some reason still tipped her 50 percent. Probably because I felt bad for her. Other than that, awesome atmosphere. Bar was really cool.
Had a good time talking to women there but when used credit card for a drink the bartender (perhaps [part]owner) charged me $25 for a bottle of Corona and $22 for a macaroni and cheese! That's $40 I got over charged. When paying with credit ask how much is minimum and ask for receipt. Better yet, always bring cash. Cash is king in bars. I was told by my bank that the charges were reversed but it took me a while and a lot of haggling to "talk to the supervisor" to get it reversed. Getting over-charged is the Boobie Trap!
I’ll start off by saying my experience is unlikely to be the norm for this bar. With that said, we were in the bar WHILE IT GOT SHOT UP. See the broken window pane and people on the floor in my picture. Fortunately NO ONE WAS HURT. We cleared our after it was obvious the cops were done talking to people. As for the bar itself? It’s exactly what you’d expect from the name if it were the 90s. Today it’s more of an egregiously overdone hipster-villa. It’s more tacky than funny/ironic. But with that said, you’ll see lots of throwback bits all over the walls. Worth at least one quick drink for laughs if you can avoid the shooting.
5.4.2021. Don’t waste your time here bartender talking over you not really listening to you order.. not sure what her deal was but made me walk away after one drink
Rude bartender, clearly doesn't like people that are from out of town (the many other reviews confirm it wasn't just me). There's cheap beer but a small selection.
This place would be better if it wasn’t for the rude female bartender in her mid 40s that works there! She was prejudice and should be fired! Will not be coming back EVER! As long as she is working there!
Was in here with friends a little while back, and while looking at all the magazine cutouts, I had a sudden realization the hundreds of magazine model cutouts were all White People. Been thoroughly CREEPED OUT by this place ever since.
Played with a dirty, graffitied Jenga game. I wrote "good for one drink" on one and brought it to the bar.. the owner was tending bar and said "NO, we won't honor that!" And tossed the piece. I told her I was being funny and she got so pissed off! Lighten up dude. There was garbage all over the walls and games before I got there. Never came back.. Way cooler spots in the area.
The lady at the bar was very rude and she made me feel discriminated due to the fact that I’m not American. My girlfriend’s Italian ID was rejected because apparently it looked fake. Furthermore there were various signs around the bar speaking demeaningly directly to “Europeans”. I feel like we’re in an age where we can avoid such discriminatory behaviors in bars since there are so many expats living in New York City. On top of that, the bar smelled bad and the tables were dirty. Overall, even though this bar is very close to my house, I don’t think I’ll ever go back.
I’ve been here before but this time there was an extremely rude woman behind the bar. Although previous bartenders at this same bar have accepted my ID, she, for some reason did not because it was Italian and “weird” and I had to go all the way back home to get my passport. She also told my Arabic friend, who had a Canadian ID, to “shut up” when he indicated that the date of birth was on the back of the ID. We definitely felt discriminated because we weren’t American. There was even a sign that said “dear Europe, leave 1$ for every drink - xoxo America” lol are they purposely trying to repel foreign customers? Because they definitely succeeded. Not very smart of them since they’re located in a part of Ridgewood that is full of foreign residents. Furthermore, the tables were very dirty and the bar smelled pretty bad. The bar was also full of signs trying to manipulate customers into giving the bartenders more tips and money, which they surely did not deserve. It was not a very welcoming environment at all and we’re not going back.
Had to give it one star due to lack of a lower rating. Incredibly rude woman behind the bar. Wouldn’t accept our Canadian ID’s because she said they appeared to be fake. Wouldn’t go back there if my life depended on it, and ABSOLUTELY wouldn’t recommend. There are far better spots in nyc.
Terrible service! Bartender was extremely rude and she was not helpful at all. Besides, drinks were overpriced. Never coming back again. Don’t recommend.
Now THIS is a bad bar. I go to dives regularly and this was up there with the most cringeworthy joints I’ve ever stepped foot in. Decor is puke-inducing-bad, they had a bouncer on a Friday when they’re completely dead (shocker!), over-poured cocktails (and not in the good way) and some of the worst bartenders I have ever experienced in my many years of experience with bars. Not edgy in a fun, punk way where they definitely hate you, edgy in a way that makes you want to peel your own skin off; abrasive and disorderly. Also, if this is a safe space for LGBTQ+ folk, why did the staff go out of their way to ignore my trans friend when I brought them on a one-off? Hope this place dies a slow painful death.
Don’t mind ”wasting” a second of my life on review. People who work there had a choice to make an effort and be nice or be comfortable and rude. They chose the second one. It is what it is. We only can support common sense and go to any other bar in the area. Let’s support kindness or we’ll make “America great” faster than we think.
As many others have mentioned, one of the bartenders has serious issues with certain customers for reasons that no one can really understand. I was one of those customers, and her tantrum left me very confused considering I had just walked into the bar for the first time in my life and was simply waiting to order a drink. Do yourself a favor and don't go here unless you want the experience of being served alcohol by a person who acts like a child.
Bar stool chairs are TOO SHORT!!!!! I threw my back out standing up to grab my drink off the bar, then my PLASTIC still fell back with my jacket draped on the back! Contacting management immediately. Do better! Service however was incredible. Holden, best bar maid in bushwick, Brett also was like so caring and attentive. I’ll be back, but I’ll stand in the back. Headed to the chiropractors in the morning. Boobie trap, fix this! Love you!
