Hart Bar Albans Reviews
I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and it was tasty, my only real complaint with the sandwich is that it wasn't really spicy at all like one would hope with it being called a nashville hot, was more "zingy" than anything but still good, can't complain about the chips either. Wasn't a fan of the cole slaw but I'm sure it'd be right up someone else's alley. The bar is separate from the rest of the dining area, for those individuals/families who prefer that kind of thing. Service was a bit slow, but understandable as I went on the 19th of last month before the grand opening/ribbon cutting and they were pretty busy when I was there. All in all a decent local place to eat, I have enclosed pictures of the menu and my meal for anyone who wants to know what this place is about.
My family & I went to check out St. Albans' newest establishment this evening. I had the special of the day, a French dip sandwich with chips. Others in my family had a cheeseburger & onion rings, a hot turkey sandwich & fries, and a hot ham & cheese sandwich with fries. The French dip was delicious everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. I appreciate that they serve "normal" portions of food instead of the gigantic servings that so many places give these days. I like to be able to finish my meal without feeling uncomfortably full or taking home leftovers that rarely reheat well. The menu has a few interesting offerings, like a collection of grilled cheese sandwiches with various add-ins, but otherwise feels a little sparse. I am hopeful that the daily specials they're offering is a method they're using to decide on adding more things to the menu. Hat Tricks is located in the building formerly occupied by St. Albans Cleaners — the restaurant is in the area previously occupied by the laundromat, there is a bar with dart boards in the area that was once the dry cleaning side, and the past front counter area is now an arcade. I glanced through the doorway into the bar and got the impression that they've spent more time so far building up that side than the restaurant side. The restaurant part is lacking in decor and feels very unfinished, but I'm sure they will remedy that as they get settled in. The waitresses were very friendly and ours was attentive and patient. My dad ordered onion rings and then, after discussing the options with her, muttered something about how he'd have the fries as she was already turning away — even I wasn't sure what he really wanted. I appreciated that she caught this and turned back to make certain what he wanted (fries) before putting our order in. There has been a lot of grumblings in the local Facebook groups about Hat Tricks being just another bar opening up in St. Albans, but I sincerely hope that people will give it a chance and help them succeed. I have never before seen a community constantly hoping for something new to open up in the area, only to bash anything new without giving it a try. From my understanding, Hat Tricks is owned by the same person (family?) that ran another beloved establishment (Shuckers), so I have no doubt they can make this on a success as well. I highly encourage everyone to give them a shot!
A few coworkers recommended this place and the food is fantastic. I ordered 6 bone in medium wings as an appetizer and my best friend and I both ordered the Philly cheese steak. The cook on the wings was great, wasnt crazy about the medium sauce its got a sweet taste to it with a after heat, next time I order wings prob just ordering hot flavored. The Philly was one of the best Phillies I have ever had at a resturaunt, they actually season it really well, could use more cheese though. Normally it comes with what looks like lays chips but I upgraded to fries. The service was really great, loved the bartender Tessa, she was really helpful at answering questions about food and what she recommends. I loved this place so much I actually tried to come back later with my husband and mother in law but they were already closed about 10. Deff will be coming back and becoming a regular.
Food is honestly pretty great for a bar. Good atmosphere, lots of machine dart boards, plenty of tvs and the staff was very friendly. One of the closest places to get a nice cold beer on tap!

I will go there again
Tried Hat Tricks for the first time today and had a great experience! The lunch service was excellent—friendly and attentive without being over the top. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad, and it did not disappoint. It was fresh, packed with plenty of chicken, and full of flavor. My friend had the Italian salad, and it looked just as impressive—loaded with toppings and very generous. We both cleaned our plates, which says it all! Definitely a very enjoyable lunch, and we’ll be back.
