Great neighborhood bar, love stopping in for a few drinks.
Super-friendly local haunt with noon-7pm happy hour specials on the weekends
Great priced beers and you can bring your own munchies
As Irish as they come. Lively, friendly, warm. Good service great drinks. Cool atmosphere.
stopped in early on NYE, grabbed a seat, had a drink, talked about beer and music with the bartender. Good times were had. I shall return.
The most amazing, good time Irish bar I've been too since being in Ireland. The nicest group of people!!
Friendly service and drinks were pretty good!
Nice cozy atmosphere for having a drink with a group or private. The bartender service is excellent as well.
Good food and beer. Nice bar crowd for enjoying your couple of pints, even on a rainy sunday afternoon.
Wonderful little neighborhood pub, with friendly and knowledgeable bartender. Decent beer selection, on tap and bottles.
Cheap craft beer and live music. Can’t go wrong. Great dive bar.
Love this bar. Such a great cosy Irish bar. Great drinks and fun bartenders
Place I always and I mean always had great time at. Nice people and friendly service. One of the places you just need to know. The Wolfhound is easy 5 stars place.
Closed this place down! Not too crowded but everyone that came in was classy and fun to talk to. Bartender was out of this world. Will return!
Best drinks and environment in the area. Great for Irish music and culture
Came here after watching Guinness gurus video when he visited from Dublin. Was not disappointed. Great place.
Great happy hour and ambiance. Love it! Amazing burgers as well.
Wolfhound is such a fun bar! Always a must stop for the whole crew - great bands, great drinks, and great prices!!
Good staff.. decent beer selection .. mostly a younger Irish crowd.
Good Vibes!
Nice Local Bar. They have a good happy hour stuff
Paddy is awesome and love catching Kevin playing live every other Sunday!
Great atmosphere, bartender was cool, and the drinks were well priced
Great Bar! Live Irish music! Great Beers!! Lovely Staff!!!
The bar it was before it was wack. Now this is a good place to have a pint a very Irish pub feel. Bartender was great. Prices on point for happy hour. You can bring food from other places around the area and bring it in or deliver.
Great place for cheap drinks and bar food with friends. They have REAL dart boards here. If you play darts, come here. Tater tots served here go good with anything.
Good Food & service. Lady from Dublin was our server. She was good craic. 🇮🇪
ANOTHER great Irish Whiskey bar and had a great Irish band playing. You could definitely tell "we we'rent from around these here parts" but everyone was genuinely kind and eager to help. Great fun!
Great atmosphere love the Irish bar tender and the delish food. Try the grilled cheese and fried cauliflower bites! A+ place to drink a Guinness and hang with friends
Great service and attentive. Food is good and simple but sooo tasty (always end up ordering more!) . Great games & entertainment.
Fantastic Irish bar with live traditional music every Monday! And they have taytos, MiWadi and Barry's tea. Very nice and friendly staff
Great beer selection, lots of food options which were really well made, and bartender was friendly and played a really good selection of music.
A great addition to the neighborhood! Great selection of beers, very friendly staff. Fun music and activities! A great place to go any night of the week
Young owners supporting the old music. The Trad Festival lineup was first rate. A great addition to the city's arts scene. Thank you!
Nice friendly well budgeted pub... Excellent place to visit Great choices of drinks and cocktails
Best bartenders around! Great happy hour, good wings and open until 3am for a late one....
They had a awesome band called “alt side parking” playing hits all night it was awesome
Great spot to chill and relax after work darts nice bar at happy hour and the food is on point too had the fish and chips
First off! Ana is the bomb! Great service! First time for me but it happens to be my cousins favorite spot. I’m so happy I got to enjoy some drinks with family and meet some cool people. Fun bar. You can play whatever you want on their jukebox of course you pay but so worth it. There’s darts and the atmosphere is super chill. Can’t wait to go back someday!
I'm from Vermont and visit friends in Astoria every now and then. This place is great. Friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks. Good draught selection. Music was great. Good crowd if you're into playing darts.
Arrived here not knowing what to expect. The Celtic music was befitting and the ambience was just right. Dimly lit, but just right for the night. You need to try their parmesan truffle fries, and their double cheeseburger. The chopped pickles and onions made the burger very tasty. A nice tap selection that will keep you refreshed. Want to play darts? Just go to the back and take your pick. Definitely worth coming back to. Thanks for making it a fun Saturday night.
This is a nice little bar. I went later in the night. The beer was a reasonable price and the music wasn't so loud we could t have a conversation. They have darts and if that's something you enjoy could have fun night.
Great local place in Astoria for a drink, but more than anything you need to be here for Trad Week! Whether you're from Ireland, a descendent, or just a fan of the culture, Trad Week is a great time and has all the traditional Irish music you could ever want. It will get crowded that week, but in the best of ways
We were on Steinway looking for a bar to check out and our friends suggested The Wolfhound as they consider it the best bar in Astoria and honestly it checked all the boxes: perfect size, low key, super friendly, and good drinks. Even the nachos were really good. Best bar in Astoria!
Post-pandemic Update(s)**** The new crew at the Hound has a lot to offer and they are awesome people. Anna's back and Omar and David have really made this place their own. Always lotsa great beers (constantly rotating can selection) and cocktails (which change with the season) but the staples are always available. Definitely try whatever mezcalita they're mixing up, and the espresso martini! The food menu and cooks are back to the higher standards after the pandemic, and while it's not fine dining (why would it be) it's still good pub/bar food (the chicken quesadilla and the curry cheese fries are among my favorites). Trivia Leagues are back! They've done away with the Monday Trad session during darts which is a huge let down though, not gonna lie. They are doing lots of fun events every Friday and/or Saturday (like themed music nights and live band karaoke!) and when I'm up for it they've been super awesome and fun (but sometimes I'm too old for a loud/crowded bar, so I still enjoy the quiet nights there best)! Definitely my favorite bar in Astoria, and still one of the best pints of Guinness (maybe in all of NYC)!! Original*** I can't say enough good things about the Hound. The entire staff is amazing, Jessie, Rory, Paddy, Joe, and Anna. All are fantastic and fun people! The dart throwing spaces are great, the Toasties are tasty, and the pints are delicious. There's almost always live music going, or some other planned event, and the vibe here is just always exactly what you need it to be. They're very involved in the community, from darts clubs, to softball, to charity events. I couldn't be more thrilled for what the boys have done here and what they've accomplished. See you down the Hound! Original Update*** Ivan and Anna are no longer there, but Rob is probably my favorite bartender next to Jessie, and their part-timer Carlos. Jay is a new-comer as well and is also fantastic. They now do Karaoke on Tuesdays and it's a blast... Good talent comes in. And they have wings now for Trivia on Wednesdays and Football on Sundays... The wings are Carlos' recipe and just might be the best wings in the neighborhood! Come get some!!
Great local Irish bar run be some super nice lads from the old country. The kind of place you love having be your local bar, great whiskey selection, frequent live Irish music. Trivia night on Wednesdays. Happy hour. And the beer is always flowing.
This place is great. I've only been a couple of times, as I'm new to the area. Nice decor, but nothing too over-the-top or hipsterish. Both times I went, the bartenders were really friendly and welcoming. I think this place will become a staple for me.
Great local bar, solid beer selections, good looking menu, will definitely try it out next time. John was very hospitable and the vibe was nice.
Lovely little Irish bar that plays banging music but more so, they have Irish musicians come in for an Irish music week and it’s an experience. You really feel like you’re momentarily in a little pub in Ireland, listening to the Irish sing their souls. Definitely make it there for that and stay for the beautiful humans that work there. Shout out to Ana who was such sunshine all night. And to all the musicians - especially the Irish woman who sang Linger! I wish I remembered her name, but what a voice.
$5 high life’s and good burgers. i could have my last meal here and be content
Always a great time - go to local Irish bar with fun themed nights, community events, and live music
Met my bestie here because I had a layover from my flight & neither of us had ever been here & OMG... we loved it. GREAT bar, AMAZING head bartender who runs the spot, and the vibe is laid back, unpretentious & friendly.. the truffle fries & espresso martini are SO GOOD. If you come, you'll get really comfy, make friends with strangers & not wanna leave.
Had an amazing burger with caramelized onions (and a spicy sauce I was not expecting)..ha! I'm pleasantly surprised by the menu. Very, very young crowd. I was there for trivia night. Lots of stuff going on. The crowd & staff were adorable. Still a great neighborhood place to go .A very fun friendly upbeat vibe. Love to hang out here with good folks. Bring your tribe here. Grab a quick burger & brew before 7pm comes with a beer for $11!! It's available M-F. Tip your barmen well. Let's keep this bargain around. Amazing cocktails for a friendly unpretentious neighborhood place. I'll be back soon! Check out my photos! They no longer have fish & Chips..
Love this place! Great atmosphere, darts, and drinks. The music was great and the bar staff are really friendly and fun! Looking forward to going back!
I have been here twice and have great experiences both times! They have some great Happy Hour specials, and the food/drinks are very good! There are games being shown on the huge TVs they have and (when I have been there at least) they have had Traditional Irish Music/Irish artists playing either live or on their sound system. The staff is super kind and pays attention to their customers very well. They know how to pour a Guinness!
This place is always great to come. They have a nice variety of draft beer and nice cocktails. Also one of the few bars in the area with dartboards! While I haven't had their food yet, I've heard good things
We went on a Sunday morning and it was really quiet, so it was perfect! We stopped in for a quick drink. They had a soccer game on. It seems great for a quick drink before or after work, or a place to hang out with friends if you live near it. The bartender was nice and their prices were reasonable. Overall, a good local bar to check out!
Great cozy pub for a few drinks or a night out. There's live music some nights as well.
Dropped in for a quick drink. It was pretty busy and they were playing really good music.
Ok dive bar for drinks on 30th Ave, prices not bad for the area.
It can get crowded, but it's a real fun place. Staff is friendly, and their drinks are done really well
Cozy and food tasted good :) they also let me bring my dog in and even offered her water :)
A great bar in Astoria! There’s darts on Monday night too.
Friendly bartenders, friendly patrons. I'm pleasantly surprised, and think I've found a new favorite in the neighborhood. BYOF is a plus.
Cracking bar with solid prices. Plenty of modern rock in the jukebox. Lovely, attentive bartender.
Solid bar with friendly people. Bartenders are friendly and even might give you a buyback or two. We went late one night and the regulars did some adlib karoake for anyone that wanted to join. It was a lot of fun.
Went on a Friday they had live band Karaoke. Didn't stay top long but it was really crowded and looked like a good time. Will go back but earlier to beat the crowd and sign up to sing.
Dangerous, I'd spend my life savings here in one night out for drinks. 😬 They're good, just pricey for something casual.
Great little bar located in the ever growing heart of Astoria. This isn't a trendy euro bar, nor is it an over the top cookie cutter newer bar. Nice place for a drink with friendly bartenders and a low key attitude. Not sure if there's a kitchen or not....but I went there to drink...not eat.
Over all it was a good experience. They have some delicious beer. I can not speak too much about the food since I was there for a work invent and they had buffet style food for us. The bartenders were very friendly. Really good service.
The service is incredible. The happy hour is very affordable.
I really like this place, always a good atmosphere. The crowd is pretty young 20-very early 30s. They have emo night on Fridays and most of the music is alternative. The music is good and very mixed on Saturday. The drinks are pretty decent. They sometimes have live bands. There is definitely a part that sucks and that's the line to the bathroom lol. There's only 2 stalls.
This neighborhood bar is a perfect spot to enjoy drinks with couple of friends. The bar is quite well stocked (an extra star for serving Delirium Tremens). There are seating arrangements for large group(s) who would want to have a bit of separate area from the main bar, but still can be near by to order drinks. There are 2 dedicated Dartboards areas (which was a fun activity within our group). Staff is courteous and prompt with orders. Although Friday nights was less crowded until after 10pm, it is perfect for groups who want to enjoy the bar for catching up with friends or to be within your particular group. The 2 big drawbacks are: No kitchen/Food served on premises & absence of a proper drink menu. But still, overall a good experience.
Nice little bar to go with a friend or 2, watch a game on one of the TV's.
Fun place, with an excellent staff. Great place to have a pint and some crisps.
Been going here often. Nice pub but no heat. Bring your own food. Great drink specials though. Nice bartenders
After midnight and you're on the plantation with no other chores and can't sleep what do you do? If you answered take a walk and find a dive bar you're absolutely correct! At least that's what I attempted to do. I'm not sure why theyre referred to here as a dive bar though, this one ain't as divey as I usually like them. It's actually pretty decent and a bit trendy. And clean and serene, nah, I won't call here a dive bar. Go to BKLYN or LI hahaha, You'll see. Cool staff. Eclectic music. Darts. Non problematic patrons. Guinness! Suki-Suki! The End.
Went here for trivia night and nothing seemed to go as expected. They started Trivia a half hour late, the bar tender didn't know how to make a vodka club... Half the beers advertised weren't even available. Will certainly pass on this bar next time.
Would have loved to enjoy a few cold pints here, Sunday afternoon, but barman focused on chats with friends instead of service…. Went somewhere else.
After one person in our group got a drink we sat down and everyone else was looking at the menu they provided for drinks. After only about 15 minutes one of the staff threatened to kick us out because we were taking too long to pick. The table next to us was empty so it's not like it was packed. And everyone else did get drinks! We just needed some time to choose. Because of this I need to dock 4 stars. Zero sense of hospitality and very aggressive and rude staff!
