Willow Tavern Albans Reviews
First time in the Willow and can honestly say had a wonderful afternoon there. Food was delicious and great value for money. Customer service excellent and such a warm and friendly environment absolutely loved this pub. Made to feel so welcome will definitely be going back.
No food at the weekend but believe it's fantastic through the week
By far the best pub for miles had an absolutely fantastic time in here on New year's eve and met some lovely people, (no cliques in here) and we will definitely try and get in here more as we live a bit of a way from here...👏👏👏👏👏 To the landlords (Paul and Lee) and staff who work so hard to please everyone. Always book a table for food to be sure of not being disappointed because the food is fantastic.
Great afternoon nothing to much trouble for the team even though we had extra people to our booking food really tasty service 10 out of ten always love coming here
Lovely local pub which serves food. I had the hake fish and chips and was absolutely amazing. Staff are lovely, people are friendly. Proper family friendly establishment.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere, amazing staff and lots of fab entertainment. ❤️
We turned up on a Wednesday afternoon, not expecting it to be so busy for food, so I hadn't booked for a party of 11. We were told that normally, for a party that size we should have booked, but they went above and beyond to accommodate us. The staff were brilliant, and the food was spot on and reasonably priced. Will definitely return.
Friendly staff and a good choice of lagers and beers. Plenty of seating. Not sure what else to add. It's a really nice pub 👍
Have had many great meals at The Willow Tavern. Service always friendly and spot on. Staff genuinely want you to enjoy your time there. Lovely beer garden for warm days and nice eating area inside. Parking to side of pub and bus stop a few feet away.
Absolutely faultless, lovely food, cheese and onion pie delicious, the jacket potatoes perfect and the cheesecake was the best ever. All of the staff are really friendly and it was a pleasure to be served by them. Thankyou, we will most certainly return to try more of your lovely food.
Came in for lunch today with 3 friends and family. The fish and home made chips were really lovely. The fish was perfect , pretty sure it was fresh cod fillets rather than frozen. Nice to see home made chips rather than the usual bland frozen one. The chilli was also great. Very surprised by such good food in a local pub. The staff were lovely too. The only embarrassment was that we didn’t leave a tip as we didn’t realise service wasn’t added so we will tip next time for sure !
Visited on a Tuesday lunchtime, very busy as they had a funeral on but there was plenty of seating outside. Food was brilliant, very well made, large portions, a side of fries was well worth the money as well. Service was a little on the slow side but that was because they had A large event on and I was particularly hungry which makes the wait seem twice as long. Will definetley be back.
Last minute decision to eat as we were passing and so glad that we did. I went inside first to see if I could eat and take my dog in, the answer from Zoe was "absolutely yes! we love dogs here" It was quite busy but she showed us to a central table with plenty of room and made a lovely fuss of my border collie Kaya. And even gave her some treats All the menu looked really good and very reasonably priced but we settled on the large sharing platter and chunky cheesy chips. 10 minutes later this huge plate of chicken wings, garlic bread, halloumi fries, wedges, onion rings, coujons and salad appeared with some lovely tubs of dips. And the chunky chips were exactly that chunky. It all tasted as good as it looked as well and the staff were so friendly, Will 100% be returning and soon too.
Went for a lunch with my Mum and the food was absolutely delicious and was also reasonably priced. We shared the salt and pepper chicken wings to start and they were fabulous. The cheese pie was amazing too! Really looking forward to returning.
The Owners make you feel like you are Family, Friends and the lady who takes your food orders is a pleasant and lovely person in front of house! The Food is Healthy, homemade and Delicious. The atmosphere is cosy, warm and inviting, that's why we frequently go here. The prices are very reasonable, in fact! too much so! But I'm not complaining 😉 It's so nice to see a local pub Full on a weekday with Happy people enjoying Good food. All the food is 10/10. Highly recommended.
It was my first time I visited the Willow Tavern. The staff were amazing so friendly & welcoming. The menu was excellent plenty to choose from & very reasonably priced. The meal I ordered was delicious very fresh & home made. The sweet I had was unbelievable. I'd give the chef 20/10. I will definitely recommend this place to all my family & friends. Lee &Paul are amazing hosts
I'm reaching out because I noticed we were double-booked for this Saturday and were removed from the schedule without notification. As we had reserved this date specifically for you, it’s disappointing to find out this way. In the future, please let us know as soon as a conflict arises so we can fill the slot elsewhere."
Told it was a very good place to eat locally so called in for sandwiche lunch but was told by the staff that because we had just walked in and not booked a table we would have to wait 40/45 minutes before we could be served. It wasn't busy with only around a dozen people there. What was annoying about it was we weren't asked what we were having to eat just told nothing was available for at least 40 to 45 minutes. Won't be going back.
