Emmanuel Thai Restaurant Albany Reviews
Just great food made authentic. Best to order couple dishes and ask for small side plates and share. Sweet tea is really good. No liquor license. Off the beaten path but so worth going too - recommend by serious foodie friend and he was spot on!
Great Thai Food! Very small place and only one server, but she was hustling! We had our favorites, Panang Curry with chicken and Massaman Curry with Beef and they're every bit as delicious as I've had. And pretty cheap in these times. Highly recommend for lunch!
Visited again and still felt the quality of food and restaurant is top par. Really enjoyed delicious food at Emmanuel. A quaint, quiet, beautiful and relaxing ambiance hidden in a side street that sets tone and mood to enjoy their great food. Staff was courteous and nice in presenting good and asking how it was. Thank You for your service and delicious food choices. It's very important when staff ask customer's feedback on the spot so they can know how to better serve and improve food and services. Will definitely go back and highly recommend it.
This cozy little restaurant tucked away on a cobblestone street in downtown Albany makes my 💜sing. The food is always on point, my favorite it the Tom Ka Chicken soup made with coconut milk. The wait staff needs some training, and they are slow as molasses in February, we just know that going in.
Small, no frills restaurant. Cozy atmosphere. Staff was friendly. Service was quick. We got edamame and dumplings for our appetizer. For my meal, I had mango curry with chicken. It was fantastic. The curry was very favorable with a tiny hint of heat. I didn't specify my spice amount and the default was perfect for me. The sauce was a perfect thickness, not too runny. I placed this into my favorites list.
This place is a little secluded. We were just visiting this city for the first time, so we wouldn’t have been able to find this place without the help of Google Maps. The food was delicious and ambiance was great. Everything looked clean and staff was very polite. 5 stars! Highly recommended!
It's okay, generally the taste of curries, pad thai, stri fry's are good. I love the mango sticky rice and tea, however the portions just don't match the price. Lunch is roughly $14-15 and they under serve rice portions. Again, a good flavor but just not a great deal.
Pretty okay, just wish they weren't so stingy with the rice, for $6 a dry knob of rice and half a mango isn't really enough. Also got half a container of rice with my massaman curry which kinda sucks. I get that it's a lunch special but it's still not enough. Thai tea was really good, and it's about the only redeeming factor, order extra rice :(
My wife and I had dinner there and the food was very good. We were the only two people in the restaurant and the service was terrible! We were waited on by a young fellow that obviously did not want to be there. We had to ask for every single thing. It was like pulling teeth. My wife even had to take our empty water glasses up to get more water.
Ordered the drunken noodles, and it wasn't very good. The chicken was rubbery and not very tasty - it would've been almost okay as a vegetarian dish, without the weird chicken. Service was quick, and the food was hot. All told disappointing.
Door dashed mango sticky rice one of my new favorites, and was highly disappointed. The coconut sauce wasn’t sweet at all, and they were so stingy with the rice it was barely enough to split between the mango for an even bite. The price was 7$ so I decided to give it a try and will not be ordering from here again. Even for 7$ it could’ve come with a decent portion of rice and been sweeter.
I wanted this place to be my go-to for lunch so badly. Unfortunately, it really misses the mark. The biggest issue is that it’s incredibly overpriced. Thai beef salad is my favorite Thai dish, and this restaurant charges about $15 dollars and puts a laughable amount of beef in the salad. Last time I bought it, the amount of beef in the salad was downright pathetic. There were just a few, tiny pieces of meat (see photo). It also doesn’t seem very authentic- includes ingredients not traditionally found in this dish (bell peppers). They are also never, ever on time for the estimated pick up time. That is a problem when you have limited time for a lunch break. The food does, however, taste decent and restaurant appears to be clean and up to code. Overall, disappointing.
Pretty pathetic. I pretty much always Pad see ew wherever I get Thai because even though there’s not usually a very flavorful sauce I really love “broad”rice noodles. Not only were these literally dry they were basically like egg noodles from the supermarket with none of the characteristics of fresh rice noodles. Overcooked, dry, bland, careless. For some reason I ordered Rangoon as well which was burnt and came with about a quarter ounce of “dipping sauce”. All for only 28 bucks.
Not one, but two hairs in my food ruined my appetite, and their advice was to call GrubHub for a refund
A SHARP PIECE OF METAL a half inch long was found in my food!!! When I told the waitress about it, she did not look surprised. She said "I'm sorry it was metal from inside the pan." She did not offer to comp my meal or to make a new one until asked. Albany County Department of Health, Albany County Department of Consumer Affairs, NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets, and NYS Department of State's Division of Consumer Protection have been notified!!!! The Emmanuel Thai Restaurant is a DISGRACE!!!!
