Mr. Fuji Sushi Albany Reviews
This was a great place for Japanese cuisine! The sushi, seaweed salad, miso soup, sashimi were all tasty and presenting so beautifully! The service was ok, she didn’t bring out everything we asked for but she was very nice. The communication was a bit off. Very quiet and intimate setting too!
Staff are very kind, helpful, and professional. It’s always very clean. Always pack orders well. Good with timing
The best sushi in the capital region (and I’ve been to at least 10 different spots)!
A girlfriend and myself went for late lunch on a Friday around 330. We were the only customers for a bit, and I felt the service could have been a bit quicker. We learned after being seated we could not enjoy saki because there liquor license has been revoked :( BUT....the food was REALLY good. My friend got the Mermaid roll, and I ordered the Tiger roll. I must go back for the Mermaid because it was so good!!!
Very hospitable and welcoming service. The server was attentive, on point with recommendations and our meal was served quickly. The dining room on the lower level was spacious and the upper balcony level looked like a nice spot to dine as well. Overall I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Visiting Albany and ordered the sushi here a few times. The sushi is amazing and really tasty. Fish tastes fresh and the rolls are great. Highly recommend.
Brought my daughter on a whim last night and it was so great! We sat at the sushi bar and the staff was so amazing. They were teaching us how to say thank you and you’re welcome in mandarin and offered my daughter a free Japanese soda. Sushi was great. Wil def be back.
Impressive. Sushi chefs' attention to detail is apparent. The salmon, tuna, and yellowtail I had each enjoyed its flavor plain. Melt-in-mouth consistency and fresh, flavorful plates and friendly staff make this among the best Sushi you can enjoy local to Albany. Consistent in flavor, presentation, complex-order big-party attention-to-detail, and attentive staffing. Not inexpensive. Also not a place you can visit just once; once you try it, you'll want to return to try the other thing you could have ordered on your first visit. Great all around, welcoming, comfortable space. Recommended. Also shown: "salmon dream", four pieces of salmon sashimi rolled, seared on the outside, drizzled with a homemade sauce. Together with salmon roe. Cooked, raw, and roe- together- among the best flavors of salmon i've ever had.
Expedient service and delicious food. Great prices as well. Not surprising they were busy on a Friday night, luckily we didnt have to wait for seats. Cozy setting and clear menu. Wish there were more variety/mixed sushi dishes, but for the price of a roll and how fresh everything was, it is worth it to just buy multiple. Looking forward to coming back!
Was over in this area because my granddaughter wanted Blaze. I decided to go look and see if I wanted anything from here. I went with the usual that I get - crab pockets (aka Rangoon), shrimp tempura roll with no avocado, spicy crab in soy paper (did the white one this time) and the house salad. The dressing for the salad was tasty - a bit on the thin side but still good. The crab pockets were a bit too sweet and triangle shaped - tasted like the ones from a Chinese food restaurant. The spicy crab in the white soy paper was good. Well put together. The shrimp tempura roll was a bit different for me - the rice was on the inside. Despite not being how it normally looks when I order it was really good. Price point was ok - normal for that area to be a bit high. All in all it was good. Would I get it again? Maybe if out that way and want hand rolls.
Very good Japanese food for the Capital Region. No wine/beer/liquor which is tough; sushi without sake doesn't hit quite the same.
Mr. fuji , quaint neighborhood Japanese restaurant , food is tasty, fresh and generous size portions, sushi or sashimi always fresh ,shrimp tempura light and airy. Wish they would offer fresh Wasabi in the future, staff is professional and friendly and always try to accommodate customers request. You won't be disappointed with this little gem.
This is a very upscale date orientated restaurant than a traditional Japanese restaurant, their interior designs and lightings settings bring that feeling out, while the restaurant feels very westernized, like an American Bar that serves Japanese food in a way if you will. Pretty good for date night though, wink wink*. The waiters and waitresses are very nice and professional. The food here is decently good in tastes, and great in dish presentations, I kinda wish the tastes will match the presentations of the dishes. But to someone who also value the dinning settings, are very likely to enjoy the vibe here.
