I visited Teppan Territory recently, and overall my experience was more positive than negative. The chicken teriyaki was genuinely very good — the meat was tender, well-cooked, and coated in a rich, flavorful teriyaki sauce that wasn’t overly sweet or salty. It tasted fresh and clearly well prepared. The soup was also excellent: hot, aromatic, and comforting, exactly what you expect from a quality dish, not something made in a hurry. That said, I think it’s important to be honest about the downsides as well. The green pie we ordered was a disappointment, not because of the taste, but because of the portion size. It was extremely small and did not match the photo shown in the menu at all. Based on the picture, you expect a proper dessert portion, but what arrives is closer to a bite-sized serving. While the flavor was fine, the size creates a gap between expectations and reality, which is frustrating.

This was the place I decided to stop by on my first visit to the DeKalb food hall. Not gonna lie, I spent some coin, some being an understatement here but I don't regret it. The Chicken Teriyaki I had was DELISH! and the chicken gyoza was made very well. You can get a decent meal and the chicken teriyaki itself is $14. It's a tad small though so that's where the gyoza $7 and drink $2 came to play which led to my food being more than $20.

Came for my dinner. They were busy but got through the ordering line pretty fast and received my order quickly. Ordered an OyakoDon (which not a lot of places make it right). Delicious and satisfying.

I was surprised to see fairly low reviews as my experiences here have only been positive. The staff is kind and the chicken teriyaki and katsu don are genuinely good. The prices are also fair even though they’ve gone up a bit with inflation. Still a very solid meal and good portion sizes.

I got the Japanese curry! Delicious! Albeit, very similar to the curry I make at home with the Japanese curry blocks I buy at Tenichi Mart. Take that as you will.

i was greated with friendly staff and they prepared my order very fast. i had the teriyaki chicken with rice and chicken gyozas. the teriyaki sauce was perfectly seasoned and when paired with the white rice and the fresh vegetables, just mmm. i am sent to heaven. the gyozas werent as crispy as i hoped, but the flavor just made up for it. it was seasoned sooo well and the dumpling sauce perfectly compliments it. it was also nice to watch them cook the meal in front of me, it was kind of like hibachi without the hefty fee of it. the music was kinda loud but lowk a vibe😸😸 5/5 stars would 100% be coming back… maybe ill become a regular 😋😋

I always get consistent great service/food here. Staff is always kind, food is always delicious (I get the Japanese Curry and Takoyaki balls). Every time I go to DeKalb market, I want to give the other food stalls a chance but I always end up back to this place because of the variety of food and like I said earlier, the consistency. Great place, worth a full 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently visited Dekalb Market Hall for the first time and decided to try the Japanese restaurant, as many other places were closing. The staff were incredibly fast and efficient, and the food was delicious! I ordered the teriyaki chicken and gyoza, both of which exceeded my expectations. Additionally, they were very helpful when I emailed them to request a copy of my receipt. I’m really grateful for their excellent service and would highly recommend this place to everyone. The staff are truly nice people!

Got their gyudon, oyakodon, and pork Katsudon. They all taste all right but price might be a bit steep. I would most of the dishes over rice have lots is sauce so their rice is a bit on the hard side to soggy it down. Their serving time is quite impressive, all under 5 minutes.

This was our first time here, trying the teriyaki chicken and another dish I can't remember the name of. It was pretty good! I had to get used to the flavor of oil they use because it's a little different than Chinese food, but it's pretty yummy. My daughter enjoyed the food and wants to come back! The portion size was also good. The service was friendly. We sat at the table bench, and it was a cozy experience.

Food is mediocre for the price tag. $29 plus dollars get you a appetizer, entrée and a can of soda. Asked for hot sauce and they tried to charge a dollar. Plenty of other options to go to in Dekalb Market Hall without getting nickled and dimed!

Ordered Japanese fried rice but got instead curry over rice. And they call it fried rice! Their katsu curry is delicious but ordered fried rice for children. And they will not eat that.

Mediocre overpriced udon for $19 with tax included. The only vegetables it had were shiitake, cabbage, and a few broccoli. Traditional Japanese udon does not have broccoli by the way...They gave a few shrimp tempura but they were small portions. I didn't feel like there was anything particular special about the taste of the entire dish tbh.

I went to this restaurant and I got sautéed vegetables teriyaki & white rice. I had gotten it before and knew that the rice and the teriyaki sautéed vegetables were put in separate compartments of the rectangular container. I dont like my rice soaked with sauce, I like to add it as I eat. I also ordered spring rolls to-go. Also, I had to literally google and hunt to find the name of the restaurant. I always go to the food court in the mall, so after each transaction, I am automatically emailed the receipt. That did not happen with this restaurant and I don't know why they intentionally withheld the email receipt. Was it because they have complaints like this all of the time? Hmmmm. Anyway, I found a receipt on the bag, but it did not list the name of the restaurant, nor did it list the amounts of the items I ordered. It is like they are intentionally trying to hide the price or hide the fact you actually did business with their restaurant. I find this business's practices to be very shady. They pack the container in a stapled brown bag. I had just finished shopping so I had some bags, so I put the food in the brown bag in the bag on my shoulder so at least 1 hand was free. I was walking out of the mall, and then someone began saying, "Miss, Miss!" You have something dripping from your bag. To my dismay , the greasy juice from the sautéed vegetables had somehow seeped out and was running down the front of my pants and on the side my pants where I had the bag on my shoulders. It also leaked on cream fabric shoes! It's not a material that can be just wiped off! I was so annoyed I had to rush home and change and then wipe off all of the stuff in my bag, then my pants and shoes! And even wash the bag by hand because, to leave grease on anything would cause a stain, and mind you , you would be walking around smelling like food. 🙄 I was so annoyed because why was this food juice poured in in such a way that it was able to leak out. The container should have been secure as well. That was a very careless manner in the way the food was packed. Why would you, knowing, that this customer is taking the food to go, pour so much sauce in that the juice ultimately leaks out all over the customers clothing, causing the customer to have a not so great feeling about your restaurant. Hmmmm, perhaps they wanted it that way so I will no longer visit their establishment?🤔 I have a good mind to believe that this was done on purpose with the hope that the food juice would leak all over. Could it also be that the food server was so annoyed they had to spend a Saturday cooking for people, working, and did this dirty deed to get a good "jab" so to speak at a customer who is having a carefree day? No matter the case , it leaves me with a not so great feeling about the carelessness of the packing of the food to secure any juices. Why not simply put just enough juice that it is sufficiently covers the sauteed vegetables, thereby, efficiently preventing this from happening, and inconveniecing the customers day.

This $7 boba crepe was absolutely minuscule and had a faint garlic flavor. Without the garlic flavor and insane price for the teeny tiny slice, it would’ve been really good.

I observed the chef using his hands, gloves on, to handle raw food and touch all surfaces, utensils, and take-out containers with the same gloves on. This behavior caused me to feel ill due to the apparent cross-contamination.
