Good pizza for the price! I was hungry and wanted something quick to eat on the go. Would go again!

Great tasting pizza with a nice crunchy bottom. Easy and quick place to grab a slice for a great price.
Visiting from Ga and wanted some of the famous NYC slices I love. The pizza here was delicious. The slices are put into the oven before being served which gives it that nice hot fresh taste you want. The person behind the counter was pleasant. 2 pepperoni slices and can soda special $5! Can’t beat this deal! 🍕
They are very polite the pizza is excellent the price is amazing. I don't live downtown. When I go downtown I always stop at that pizza shop. I go down Town a whole lot. All the ways from Coney island. Red Hook. New Jersey. I always stop here to get my delicious Pizza.
$1.50 for a slice with inflation, but this is still the cheapest slice in town. Obviously there isn't seating inside, but Downtown Brooklyn has entire streets converted to outdoor seating nearby. Two slices and a drink is less than $5. I suggest bringing cash since card purchases under $5 get a 50¢ surcharge. One of the best crusts I've had on a pizza, and normally I don't notice the crust.

Good to price pizza. 2 cheese slices with soda were just 2.99 USD in December 2023.
Amazing deal! Cheese pizza for $1. But it was just okay… not that great

Cant complain. Go to spot after college. Theyre also truthful about their prices unlike the scammers across the street at supreme pizza
I recently visited Jay St. Fresh 99¢ Pizza, and while the pizza was great, I was a bit disappointed by the price. The name of this place is quite misleading, as a slice is now $1.50, not the advertised 99¢. Thankfully, I checked the reviews beforehand and brought enough money from my car, but it’s something to be aware of. That said, the pizza itself was delicious, just as I expected. It definitely lived up to the quality I was hoping for. I’ll probably come back, but I really hope they update their name to reflect the actual price. Otherwise, it’s a bit of a bait-and-switch situation which I don't typically like supporting. If you’re aware of the price difference, though, it’s a solid spot for a tasty and affordable slice.

The dude is weirdly grumpy. I mean he mumble when tell me the price. And I just came by and ordered and left. I didn't do anything to him🤔🤨. But the lady before me did. Don't know what she, did but it seemed to pissed him off or something. 3 1/2 stars for a $1.50 pizza. Has just enough sauce to make it tasty. Thin crust in the front a little thick crust in the back. Even after a reheating, it is still good. I ordered 2 slice from each pizza place. Taste test. Service was pretty fast.
It is what it says it is. Don't get cute like I did and order anything other than the cheese or pepperoni and cheese. Those are really good and even better for the price. The beef patty should be skipped, a sad Napoleon to the excellent Jamaican beef patty place that was here forty years ago, and the spinach and mushroom and Olive aka the vegetarian was terrible. I asked for a fork (with which I planned to scrape it off )and he dug around in a bag outback by the sink, fished out a fork, rinsed it and gave it to me.
And the pizza wars of downtown Brooklyn have begun, as there are now 3 dollar pizza places within walking distance of eachother. Out of the 3 this one is definitely the best. Quick service and the place is really clean. As for the slice quality its a hit or miss. Generally The ew good but sometimes the crust can come out a bit thin and undercooked and lacks cheese

Today is 6/10/25 we bought about 3-5 slices and I’ve never instantly regretted getting food in my life. The slices had to have been sitting there because the back end was burnt. Like in one spot. The cheese tasted like paper and the crust felt like cardboard. Idk if it’s inflation or the times but $1.50 used to carry you further just saying
Great pizza for the price. Maybe a little thin, but to each their own. Just don't expect service with a smile. Limited seating available. One of the last places on earth that actually sells a $1 slice!

Today: Aug 31, 2023. They deserve zero stars. I requested a beef patty and waited patiently while the client behind me was actually fussing. She complained about having to wait for just second until her turn. Then to my surprise being the quiet patient customer— The unkind and unpleasant man up front circled with a green marker in the photo attached — placed a beef patty inside the oven. I looked at my clock, it was at 5:50pm …. After tending to only one customer to give them 1 slice of pizza, he then took out my soon to be beef patty at 5:51pm. No joke, I nicely in a calm voice said to him, “It’s not ready yet, I looked at my clock and you only put it in there 1 minute. The last time you gave it to me that fast it was cold on the inside” To which he looked at me, mumbled things, took the beef patty out of the foil he was going to wrap it in and put it back in the food display stand. — He said we are too busy ma’am, and I said no problem I’m waiting patiently. You could just attend to other customers and get back to me later after it’s hot, offering him a solution because I actually care more about solutions. — He looks away, ignores my easy request as a customer, and proceeded to take time to tend to other clients. I looked at his teammate and said, can someone else help me then? (Couldn’t believe I actually tried to give him or them a chance) his teammate heard me, gave another client pizza, then looked past me and walked to the back. Then I said calmly still “Oh, It’s because I’m not one of your people right?” Duly noted. And walked out to share with you my beautiful review here of the types of people that make us Brooklynites have a bad wrap. Customer Service is not their priority here, especially when you’re not their same ethnic group. Interesting enough, he quickly serviced the fussy client I mentioned earlier, with her pizza and all. Next time, I may come in there yelling and fussing, perhaps then I would have a beef patty in my hands and belly right now. 😌 if you like terrible customer service from people who only want to just take your money and go, here is your best chance at this pizza place. Meanwhile, the 99 pizza across the street owned by their “brothers” next to the store <Shoe Bug> who actually take the time to warm up my patty while attending to OTHER clients in the meantime, will be getting my money moving forward. I care to support my local community businesses, but NOT THIS PLACE 😑
It was dirty inside. The guy was not wearing gloves or a mask. I got a slice and mozzarella sticks. There’s a sign saying 6 pieces for 3.99 but he tells me it’s 6.99. Arguing with me as if I’m not looking at the sign. Just for me to leave and see that it looks like this mushy and nasty. The pizza was okay. I wouldn’t come back unless I was taking pictures to send it to the BBB. Don’t waste your time.
This place has signage that's very misleading. There is no $1 pizza at this location. BUYER BEWARE!!!
I ordered 2 slices pizza + a bottle of soda in this Jay st Fresh 99¢ pizza On May 17 2021, and all cost 4 dollars. I gave that guy a10 dollar bill, he just gave me back $1 change, when I point it out, he returned me $5 more, but the funny thing is he put his finger on the head, pretend to pick up his memory. so funny. there was only one guy working inside, looks like those from Mid eastern or India. I believe that this guy always plays the game like this.

Their customer service is horrible. They don't even do debt or credit. I asked because I was going to get a pie. The guy behind the counter was rude and disgusting. Yelling at customers? Cash only he yells at me before getting cursed out. This place is horrid and does not care for customers. Finally slices are 1.50 not .99 cent. They made sure they put signs up for the new price, but do not change their info online. Don't be fooled it's not worth the 1.50.
