Ribalta Albee Square Reviews
We visited Ribalta for valentine’s dinner and it was absolutely great experience, upbeat vibe, delicious food. Since valentine dinner- they gave us champagne and rose as soon as we entered. That definitely put the cherry on the whole experience. We got pizzas and croquettes. Truffle pizza and pepperoni pizza. I will definitely be back here. Service was great as well.
Delicious Neapolitan-style pizzas! We tried the DOC and Zole pizzas, both of which were fantastic, and the Cacio e Pepe was rich and flavorful. The Mediterranean Salad, however, felt a bit underwhelming and lacked any unique flavor. Overall, the pizzas made for a very satisfying meal.
Definitely the best Italian restaurant in all of New York! The food is unreal! You will certainly not eat pizza like this anywhere else. Service, ambience, everything is 10/10. Our server Luka was wonderful and all praise to him. We also chatted with the manager, who is exceptionally friendly and kind. Definitely a place I can't wait to come back to because everything is perfect!
Loved my experience at Ribalta. The food was amazing super authentic Italian, especially the pizza and pasta. The vibe was fun and welcoming, and the service was great. Shoutout to Numa, the hostess, who was super friendly, she managed to give us a table on a busy night and made us feel welcome right away. Definitely coming back!
This restaurant truly surprised me with how amazing their pizza was! One side of the dining area has a wood-fired oven, so you can watch the pizzas being baked fresh with high-quality ingredients. The space is stylish and clean, including the restrooms. I visited on Halloween, and the staff and guests were all dressed in fun costumes, creating a festive and lively vibe. The restaurant felt full of energy and great service — highly recommend!
What an amazing experience at Ribalta NYC. The pizza madrillena was absolutely fantastic, full of flavor and perfectly baked. The eggplant parmigiana was incredible, creamy and full of soul, and the orecchiette with broccoli di rape were just delicious. Everything else was great too, from the food to the atmosphere. The whole staff was outstanding, very professional and kind. Nicolò, the manager, is a real pro who makes you feel at home. Chef Cozzolino did an exceptional job, you can tell there’s passion and authenticity behind every dish. Ribalta is truly one of the best places in New York. Can’t wait to go back.
We recently celebrated my friend’s mom’s 60th birthday—her first time in the U.S. from Kazakhstan—and decided to do it at this restaurant. Everything was simply amazing! One of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had. The food was incredible: we started with the Pepito pizza as an appetizer—thin crust with mushrooms and mozzarella, very juicy and flavorful. We also tried the roasted octopus, pesto and black truffle gnocchi, and paccheri Alla Genovese—everything was absolutely delicious. For dessert, we had tiramisu, which perfectly rounded off the meal. The portions were just right to feel satisfied, though they might seem a bit small by American standards 😂. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the restaurant has two Michelin stars. The service was excellent: our busboy made us feel like we were in Italy, as most of the staff are Italian. The restaurant was full, and it’s no surprise given the quality of the food and service. While we waited a bit to order our cocktails, it didn’t matter at all—we spent three hours there and could enjoy our conversation without feeling rushed. A special thank you to the staff for being so patient and attentive, even though many places have a strict 90-minute policy. You made our evening truly unforgettable!
Nov 2024 visit: Ribalta is just the best! The atmosphere is incredibly lively. Service is excellent. Had been here before on a business trip, but came back with the family. They loved it too. Pizzas cooked perfectly. Excellent wine to pair. I have no notes. It's known as one of the best neopolitan pizzas in NYC for a reason!
Very good overall. I got the capricciosa which was very high quality Neapolitan style. I also got the carbonara which was good as well but a bit heavy, the sauce is very creamy and dense, so be prepared for it. Music louder than a usual restaurant it kinda has a fun bar vibe. Overall highly recommended
Me and my family have been coming to Ribalta for a while now and the service is always great! Not to mention, the food is always delicious! One of my son’s favorite is the Gnocchi truffle and mine is the Pizza Comune, Cetara, and Calzone. Their steak is also wonderful! We always order Calamari which should not be missed as they melt in your mouth. Aperol spritz is a good aperitivo drink and followed with a nice Aglianico for me. The people at Ribalta always create a warm and inviting place. Overall, the experience is always positive.
Great quality pizza! We live good pizza and visit pizzerias from top50. Ribalta is definitely on the top of our ranking. We tried margarita and doc. Both pizzas were amazing. Perfect balance of tomato sauce and mozzarella. The dough was thin in the middle as it supposed to be. Not too liquidy and not too dry. The crust was a bit too crunchy on my pizza but perfect on my partner’s pizza. They have some selection of italian sodas but nothing exceptional. Really good place, friendly staff, nice interior. Highly recommend this place if you live pizza!
The food is amazing however the servers and the hostesses were very snobby. We really liked the food however they need to treat their guests better and not talk down toon them. So what if we don’t wear designer clothing? The invisible people in the kitchen know their job and prepare bloody good pizzas and they deserve our appreciation ! Bravi!
My palate for pizza is very spoiled. Let me state that Ribalta makes a good pizza but I would not place it in top 10 in NY. The dough was delicious. Superb. But the souse and cheese were non-eventful and they beg to be stepped up to match a dough. I really think Ribalta, if they make a push, may make a top 5 pizza in New York. But at this moment it is not there. Perhaps their pasta is great? I have not tried.
Regret giving Ribalta 3 stars. Used to be my favorite pizza in NYC, but it hasn’t been the same since the fire closed them down for awhile last year. Not sure what happened or if it’s a coincidence but it’s just not the same. Even the crust has been different when it was so good before. The prices have also gotten so far out of hand. A couple years ago I would have given 5 stars. Minus one for declined quality, minus another for increased pricing.
Looked great. Started well. Seated quickly on a Wednesday in March around 7 PM. The server arrived in leisurely but somewhat timely fashion and got my order in quickly as well as my glass of wine. The potato croquette appetizer was really good. Would have been bombastic with some marinara. The pomodoro spaghetti however was undercooked and underwhelming. They have plenty of food runners and table bussers. I had to wait 10 minutes to get pepper and Parmesan which arrived after I nabbed my third runner. My server never returned to my table to check in even though the station is roughly 12’ in front of my table where he spends most of his time. Post completion of my meal it is well over a 10 minute wait for my check. Overall I wanted to eke out a 4 star here but the main course was average at best in a city where there are plenty of fresh Italian options I would forego this one next time.
Ribalta is a mixed review for me. On the one hand they had a solid menu of various Italian dishes and pizzas but on the other hand the food fell a bit short. I came here with a large group for a team dinner and we were able to grab a table on fairly short notice. Our table ordered a bunch of shared appetizers, drinks, an entree per person, and some desserts to try. While the food wasn’t too bad it didn’t feel super elevated compared to other NY Italian spots. The drinks especially the cocktails were a little on the sweeter side and the desserts were decent. We ended the night full and satisfied. One note I will make, after this dinner, around 4 out of 12 of our coworkers felt nauseous and sick over the next few days. We can’t tell what it was but it’s possible something at this restaurant triggered it so be cautious.
Pizza is always great, but the service this time fell short. A host (I believe) took our order and mentioned he wasn’t very knowledgeable. Although we received everything we asked for, no one checked on us during the meal, and it felt like we didn’t have a server at all. As someone who works in this industry, I know how important service is, so I left a 10% tip. I hope the service can improve, because nothing should be taken for granted.
Wait staff was extremely aggressive and asked us (a group of 4 people) to leave one hour after we were seated when we were still eating our food. Very unpleasant experience. I understand needing to turn tables over so more customers can eat but checking on the table every 2 minutes to try to get us to leave felt very unenjoyable when we had been there for just an hour.
