Highly recommend! Vegan chicken + braise tofu skin noodle soup was AMAZING. Carrot cake—glorious. Great price and vegan. Can’t wait to go back!

I got the vegan ginger chicken bao bun and the Vegan ham egg and cheese sandwich with a hibiscus iced tea. The bao bun was amazing. The texture and taste of the ginger chicken was amazing though I did wait a little to long to eat it so the bun got a but steamy and condensation built up on it. I bet it would have been even better fresh. Same thing goes for the Ham Egg and Cheese. The sandwich tasted amazing and was very filling. The meal was a solid meal and though it was a little expensive for what you'd expect it was worth it for a good healthy feeling lunch.

I love this place and there’s something for everyone. I’m not vegan or vegetarian but crave the tofu skin bento box and baos (tofu skin and mushroom) very often. The hot and sour soup that comes with the bento boxes is so good. I stop by whenever I’m in the area, and it’s right beside the subway so it makes a perfect snack or lunch pit stop. Love the smoothies too. Prices are super fair and haven’t skyrocketed like other places which is super welcome. Everything is delicious, fresh and healthy!

I am not vegan but this place is worth the try and repeats. Why did it take me until now to come here??? Food: Bento box is a filling meal. Comes with 2 sides, a protein, rice and a hot and sour soup. The tofu skin is flavorful and the other dishes are great additions to the meal. Also, SALT & PEPPER MUSHROOMS is a must, sooo good!!! Service: Employees are very welcoming! Atmosphere: Place is small but a good amount of seating. Also do take advantage of their stamp cards if you plan to go there more than once. This is a place I would definitely come back to, I'll try their drinks next time.

My go-to lunch spot as a vegetarian! I always get the bao bun combo with ginger chikn and bbq “pork” with a side of the cripsy mushroom. Such an underrated gem of a place.

Delicious and filling meal, great staff, prompt service. I got the 2 bao combo (bbq “pork”and braised tofu skins) with fries and a lemon iced tea. Food came out fast and hot, iced tea was refreshing, fries were fresh and crispy. There are about 6-8 stools for dining in. I will definitely be back many times!

I had the Beyond Burger combo here and it was fantastic! The burger tasted really healthy and satisfying, and the fries were super tasty—crispy and flavorful. Everything was very fresh, and all my friends enjoyed what they ordered too. Great spot for a delicious and wholesome meal!

Best bao buns and everything is vegan! These were so so amazing, from the flavor to the texture, everything was fabulous. I can’t even choose one over the other. And for $11? Not a better deal in town.

The Food was simply amazing ! My first time having Bao Buns and now I'm a huge fan. The level of patience shown with my 50 Vegan questions was beyond amazing! The Hibiscus Sweet Tea was a pleasant surprise! Also had the "Chicken salad" with the honey mustard vinaigrette was nothing short of delicious!

What an awesome vegan restaurant. I had the Bento Box with miso soup and hibiscus tea. The menu had many different great vegan dishes. When I’m back in NY I will definitely be coming back again.

Such a charming spot! I had their braised tofu skin and vegan BBQ pork bao bun—the tofu was a standout: extremely delicious and refreshing, whereas the BBQ pork was a bit too sweet for my taste. My husband had the black pepper mushroom burger and raved about the bold flavors. This is the perfect go-to spot for a quick bite.

Really yummy vegetarian and vegan food. The menu is mostly Asian flavors, made up of burgers, baos, salads, and bento boxes. They have fresh juices and smoothies. You MUST get the Salt Pepper Mushroom if you come. So well seasoned. The first time I came here we asked them for recs, and they recommended the Mushrooms. Maybe my fave mushrooms in the city.

I had vegan ham cheese with filter coffee with soy milk this morning and I LOVED THE SANDWICH!! I couldn’t decide between Hash brown cheese sandwiches and vegan ham one so I asked for hash brown as a side. I loved tne whole breakfast and will definitely go there to try other foods again!! Whole three things cost around $21/22

What an amazing cafe that serves vegan food. The place inside is small but I’d recommend eating inside. Take out is great too but if you can eat at the cafe, then certainly opt for that option. The staff is so sweet and kind. Always welcoming you with a smile and open heart. I got the bento box (chicken), hot and sour soup, fries, and love fresh juice. Everything was flavorful and clean. Each bite made my inner child so so happy. Thank you Spring cafe for such an amazing meal ❤️

Spring cafe: Chinatown A vegetarian choice and Tofu lover. I got a lunch box from Spring cafe. I’m not Vegetarian but I believe once awhile you wanna have a lot of vegetable, and tofu because you are sick of meat, aren’t you? My Lunch had Black tofu steak, and tofu spicy curry, with broccoli on side. It’s very simple, and taste not too bad. Tofu steak was so so. But I liked the soft tofu in spicy curry. The texture of Tofu was very chewy. All of this with one water bottle. It’s a steal. Spring cafe was good place. Recommended! #director_eat_out

French fries are the BEST I’ve ever had, so so so so good. I would come back just for the fries. The sweetened hibiscus ice tea was so refreshing. All four of the bao buns they have are pretty good, I think our favorite was the Vegan BBQ pork bao. Would definitely recommend this place!

food: interesting flavors. fully vegan (amazing). the bao was good. i didn’t like the tofu skin one was much. also i feel like the bao could be softer and fluffier. but still very interesting and flavorful. i would try the other bao again next time i visit. also i thought one of the bao was adequately filled while the other felt under filled so we basically just had a lot of the bao not the filling. price: expensive. approximately $12 (including tax) for 2 bao is the most i’ve paid thus far for bao. so i wouldn’t be a frequent visitor here. experience: it was okay vibes. wasn’t too bad. service: okay overall, i’d return to try the other bao again next time. but not frequently. i would recommend to vegans for at least one time try.

2025 update: Today I was feeling in the mood for healthy food so I went here for some vegetarian food. During the lunch rush, they were super busy and I barely managed to get a seat at their counter style seating. I went with their salt and pepper chicken bento box and a hibiscus tea. Despite the lunch crowd, I didn't have to wait too long before my food was ready. They were pushing out orders really efficiently. If you spend over $10, get a stamp card! It's 1 stamp per $10 spent. I liked how everything was packed up in a bag which made it easy to take leftovers home. The soup had pieces of tofu and mushrooms. It was quite thick and tasted like maybe hot and sour soup. In the bento box, there was broccoli with sesame oil, fried tofu and vegetable curry soup, 4 pieces of salt and pepper imitation chicken, fresh salad and a large portion of white rice with some tofu bean curd. The chicken's outer coating was very crispy and I was surprised at how similar the texture was to chicken. I also enjoyed the fried tofu pieces in the curry as it soaked up the curry flavor. It was a very filling meal as even hours later I still felt quite full. 2023: I can't believe I've never really noticed this spot! Definitely feels like a little hole in the wall despite being right next to the Canal St station entrance. I got the bao combo which contained the vegan bbq pork bao, mushroom bao and hibiscus tea. I paid extra to add on the salt pepper fried mushrooms. Everything was packaged nicely in a to-go bag for me which ensured nothing spilled or leaked on my commute home. Utensils and the straws were compostable which is a nice touch. The baos were a bit messy to eat but really delicious. Two baos were enough to fill me up. I really liked the sauce of the vegan bbq pork bao. The salt and pepper fried mushrooms were crispy and full of umami flavor but probably not the healthiest dish for the arteries. Definitely a once in a while snack. Surprisingly I really enjoyed the hibiscus tea! I've never been a fan of floral teas but this one changed my mind.

A GREAT vegan Asian restaurant in Chinatown. A tiny hole in the wall with oftentimes a line out the door. Very clean and modern. Full of white customers. I had the beef / tofu skin burger. The tofu was meaty in texture and substantial. I think the bun is a bit sweet though. always order the zhajiang noodle soup warm! The tofu taste like Dan Dan noodles! Delicious.

Unlike their photo depiction, which makes this all vegan establishment appear much larger, there are only single, high seats and two high bar tables, along either side of the restaurant and with a few seated and several waiting for and placing their order, the place is TINY. By itself that would be okay but on a suffocating, 95° day the place with an ac (I use that term liberally) that you couldn't feel at all, was A LOT hotter than outside!! It was so unbearable, I didn't even check over my bag of hot food and couldn't leave quickly enough. I'm wondering if they have heat in the winter... The ordering process is simple and straightforward, with clear, bright photos on their hand, wall and internet menus including 4 fun Bento boxes, 16 Burgers, 6 Multigrain Sammies, 4 BUNS, 6 Salads and Bowls, 5 Fresh Brewed Tea, 4 Matcha, 10 Coffee, 5 Smoothies, 5 Fresh Juice Drinks, Several Desserts, Appetizers and Sides We took advantage of their Zhajiang Noodle Special with Braised Minced Pork and Tofu, Red Cabbage, Cilantro, Cucumber and Crushed Peanuts. We also ordered Tater Tots, the BBQ Pork Bun with Iceberg and Cucumber, the Braised Tofu Skin with Pickled Greens Bento Box with Tofu Curry, Sesame Broccoli and White Rice with Braised Minced Pork and Tofu and Soup. The White Rice, satisfying in stickiness was average in flavor. I ordered extra of the Zhajiang Noodle soy based sauce and it was yummy on the Noodles, Braised Tofu and White Rice. We enjoyed the Bao Bun and the heaping portion of crispy Tator Tots were definitely above average. The accompanying ketchup was strange, vinegary and watery but the Spicy Mayo, you'll need to order a lot more of was perfect! The Sesame Broccoli was fresh and tasty! The Hot & Sour Soup was delicious but mostly broth. The Curry Tofu was tasty but disappointingly largely Potato, included a few Chickpeas, with a scant amount of watery sauce. Portions and cost is reasonable. Lily's Vegan Pantry and Vegan-friendly Tyger Restaurant are a block away
