Springbone Kitchen Albee Square Reviews
Walking into the restaurant feels like a blast from the past. Nothing beats the old school diner feel. Enjoyed a nice bowl of pho here. Service was quick and food was very satisfying.
First visit and happily surprised. I had a small combination pho. The amount of meat and the quality was good and the flavor of the broth was delicious. Price is very reasonable and service was quick. I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes.
Great pho, older atmosphere but clean, price is good, noodles and broth are always delicious. Love coming here on my lunch break. Service is fast.
It was our first time here .the food was deliciously had very good taste .food came out fast and was really hot my little one even finish a whole bowl.thats how good it was and she is a picky eater. Just wish the lady’s serving food would smile a bit more and respond to the thank you’s .but after all very clean place .will definitely come again!
Friends live close to this plaza allowing me to frequent this place on a regular basis. It serves some of the best pho broth on this side of the bay. It has a thick beef flavor added with extra onions, scallions, herbs, and spices for an authentic dish. Noodles area bit on the soft side from simmering too long in boiling water but I do not care too much about that. Their Banh Mi sandwiches are very tasty too. That is one treat you would not want to miss out on. Service has been very attentive, all the servers willingly provide the right cuts of meat when some may be from the wrong order or missing altogether.
They have the best pho in the area! I’ve had a lot of pho from San Diego to the Bay (pho clement in SF was a fav until it closed), and this is in my top 5. The broth is phenomenal and they always have fresh basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños. Go here for pho!
Solid spot for a comforting Vietnamese meal. My friends who live right across the street highly recommended this place. We stopped in for lunch, and I liked the no-frills, classic Viet diner vibes. The menu had all the usual comforts like spring rolls, pho, and rice plates. We went for a specialty beef pho and a grilled pork rice combo plate, and both arrived in under 10 minutes. Tasted exactly the way I want them to. Nothing flashy, just hearty, satisfying Vietnamese comfort food done right.
Was passing through this place during a trip, and felt hungry so I stopped by here for lunch. Nice opening hours, immediately got a seat, menu very comprehensible, and very friendly staff. The moment I walked in I knew I didn’t regret this— the smell of authentic Pho was on point. I ordered #8 (steak, flank, and tripe). Goodness, the broth is money worth. I know there are many different levels of tenderness and softness people prefer to have their pho cooked, and this was definitely a bit on the harder side (though, if you want a more tender feel just put your meat towards the bottom and let heat do the work). Also the pricing is excellent, I got a small size and felt pretty full after that, though someone I was eating with got the large and there’s just a one dollar difference but the large is large size indeed. If you wander into that plaza, I betcha you won’t regret walking in to here to eat.
The atmosphere makes you feel like you're really in Vietnam (but without the heat 🤣). I tried both the banh mi and the pho and they were excellent! The chicken banh mi and the grilled pork were both exceptional. The staff were friendly and kind. I am definitely going back here and recommending it to everyone! I also love the custard apple smoothie
We found this place on the google maps. I ordered #1 for my 5 years old because she likes cartilage and other viscera 🤪, and seafood pho for myself. Everything was pretty good except crab meat 🙃, but that’s ok, I just didn’t eat it. The large portions. Polite and fast staff. The rest of our food we took with us, and they kindly provided disposable tableware for soup, drink and appetizers. It’s was nice experience! Thank you for less sweet Thai tea, I loved it!!
Craving for Asian food and found this Vietnamese restaurant while driving around. Ordered their beef noodles soup. Guess it should be a safe bet since they cannot go wrong on this commonly available dish. Taste was good. Soup is fragrant and hot. I typically don’t add more bean sprouts or mint leaves but some like to add these. 3 bowls of beef noodles soup cost US$47.31 after taxes but before tips. Service was very basic. Got seated. Given the menu. Place order. Served the food. Start eating. After for bill. Pay and be on our way.
I gave a 4 star for overall but I really wanted to give a 4.5 star if it were available. What stands out the most is the price. A small bowl of pho is under $12 (before tax) and a large bowl of pho is under $14 (before tax). Other items on the menu is also reasonably priced. I would like to come back sometime soon since it's hard to find a pho place like this in Sunnyvale. Also there are plenty of parking spots in the plaza, which makes it convenient.
Nice interior and good service. Grilled beef vermicelli was ok. Pieces of beef were too thick and chewy. Supposedly thinner and delicate.
The photo says everything. Btw, this is when we’re going to leave, no takeover because why bother. We were right after a dental visit and SUPER hungry. So I tried my best to complete the noodles. Chickens are very dry and taste like from yesterday. The bun is the worst bun I have ever had in my entire life in a restaurant. The bread feels like stayed on a counter like 3 days after baking. Super unsatisfied. Either I’m treated differently or that’s my unlucky day. Please avoid.
The spring rolls without shrimp were pretty good, unfortunately that was the only vegan (or strict vegetarian) option. For a lacto ovo vegetarian an egg sandwich and rice plate with fried egg become an option. They also wanted cash since that ended up being less than their minimum for using a card, which was a bit awkward. I want to give them a higher rating, but many other pho places at least offer a vegetable broth (without milk/dairy) of some form, so given that they had no real options for a meal I can’t really justify giving a higher review - it’s not a place to go for strict vegetarians. If you’re going with a non-vegetarian group then the spring rolls work as something to chew on while talking. If they started offering a vegetable broth for the pho and perhaps say a tofu option for the pho and rice plates (neither involves difficult to get or cook ingredients), I could see bumping it up to at least a 4 star review. For that matter, a very similar tofu based option could also be offered for a vegetarian vermicelli, and a vegetarian bahn mi. The real above and beyond 5 star move would be if they offered the vegetarian broth/tofu, along with a vegan meat substitute like Beyond Chicken or Beyond Beef that could be paired with the pho or rice plates.
