The Warehouse Alexandria Reviews
Visited for restaurant week and had a top notch experience! Did the 3 courses for $55 and enjoyed a soft crab and crab cake combo with a Cajun bread pudding for dessert! Would absolutely recommend and go back! Sad we didn't get the crab beignets, NEXT TIME!!!
5 stars — Absolutely phenomenal! The Warehouse is hands-down one of the best seafood spots I’ve been to. We ordered the calamari, gator bites, scallops, seafood sampler, and the herb-crusted salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus — and every single dish was delicious. Perfectlyo cooked, seasoned just right, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere is charming and laid-back, and the service was on point the entire time. We went on Mother’s Day — one of the busiest dining days of the year — and they handled the crowd effortlessly. Can’t recommend this place enough!
I was visiting with friends and we really enjoyed this restaurant. We were enticed to stop by the beautifully set tables outside and encouraged by the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. The menu was appealing to all of us and we were all very pleased with our selections. The bread and butter was tasty and I had the Chicken Principle Salad which was excellent. My other friends got an egg dish that had beignets and strawberries and cream. They raved on their meal as well. We are all excited to visit again!
The Warehouse in Washington, DC, was a delightful experience, making it truly memorable. The restaurant has a rich history and a classic, elegant atmosphere. The service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. I started with the crab cakes, which were light and flavorful, and for my main course, I had the filet mignon, cooked to perfection. The sides were also excellent, particularly the mashed potatoes. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Washington, DC!
Nice place to dine, dressed up, or casual. The service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is chilled. I'm not big on steak, but since they didn't have any turkey breakfast meat, it wasn't a bad choice. The She Crab Soup was tasty, along with the Lobster Cobb Salad. The Strawberry Double Cream was delicious. I had ordered the bread pudding, but it didn't make the cut. It was overwhelmed by too much nutmeg; I couldn't taste the raisins, bread, etc. After giving critique of the bread pudding, our host, without hesitation, said he'll get it removed off our bill. We'll definitely be revisiting this spot.
What a great place!!! The food is SO Delicious! The staff is amazing: friendly, nice, welcoming! I was here first time and I will definitely return here again! Recommend everyone to try this unforgettable and very pleasant experience!!!
Wonderful Cajun place with a focus on seafood. Good location right on the waterfront. The fried catfish, shrimp, and calamari are great. Good selection of wine, cocktails, and deserts. They have a good brunch menu on the weekend. Large portions and reasonable prices for the location and quality. I do wish it was spicier, as I would expect from a Cajun place, but I do understand the dc taste prefers blander food. Will definitely come back.
The food was delicious. Went as a family and enjoyed the crab soup, alligator bites, branzino, cat fish and shrimp Diane. Oh and the bread pudding was spectacular. Everything was well presented and delicious. It’s an upscale atmosphere with prices to match. Though there are a number of more reasonably priced items. Overall fantastic and would go again. The Alexandria waterfront is an amazing place to go for a night out.
The food was amazing, steaks and crabcake cooked to perfection. The waiter seemed to have a little bit of a hard time understanding me, but got my order down. The creme brulee was different, not the typical, but was so good!
In summary, it was absolutely delicious but very expensive. All my ratings are solely based on the food and not about the service, price, or looks of the place but I will mention them because they are important to others. But I guarantee you will love your meal here. We ordered two fish dishes and the crab beignets and they are phenomenal. The fish was so tender and packed with flavor from the sauces. I got the pecan encrusted haddock and dang I nearly passed out from how good it was. My date had the mustard sauce trout and she had the same reaction. But the surge of pleasure those crab beignets sent through our bodies should be illegal. We were surprised we weren't kicked out of the restaurant from our sounds of ecstatic eating pleasure. Oh and I can't forget this.....the chocolate martini! I am a huge fan and I get them wherever they are served. I even make them at home with the good quality chocolate liquor. So this one they served me was on point! So I definitely suggest you get one. Overall, it was a great food lover experience and I will definitely return down the line. The service is great and the place itself is chill. The price is kinda hefty especially for a large family looking to dine. It was just two of us celebrating a special evening so it was a rare splurge. But if you are ok with the higher than average prices for the area or celebrating something special, then you should definitely make a reservation at the Warehouse.
We had a great dinner at The Warehouse in Alexandria. My lady ordered the scallops with spinach, and I had the jambalaya — both were absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Really enjoyable experience and we’ll definitely be back.
Excellent dining experience. Fine cocktails (Sazarec and Gin Martini). Entrees (Veal Oscar and Trout) were wonderful. Bourbon pie delightful. Service very good. Highly recommended.
Located in downtown Old Town Alexandria, this restaurant offers a delicious selection of seafood dishes designed to please a wide range of palates. We ordered the fruit de mer (seafood combination pasta). This includes shrimp crab as well as half a lobster. It was delicious. The jambalaya was also very good. The appetizer sea scallops were just okay served with chips and salsa It was a mix of flavors and combination which did not come together very well. The appetizer fried oysters were decent. The margarita was good here. Make a reservation if you want to come on the weekend since they get pretty busy.
Overall a nice relaxed white table cloth restaurant. You can dress up or down. We’ve dined inside 2x and once outside. Dining outside on the street was amazing. The night air was perfect. This was the Alexandria location. We order the fried catfish, mixed veggies and mash potatoes. My wife and ai split one meal. Without asking, the waiter brought our meal on 2 separate plates. We felt that was extremely thoughtful. I order a lemon drop that was very good, and strong. Great taste! The food was well prepared and hot. We would come back.
Honestly this place is by no means bad. I think all of the food was solid, but nothing was extraordinary by any means. The food claims to be creole, but the creole flavors either don't exist, or aren't prevalent enough to make a difference. I was very excited to try the Alligator Stew, but eating it just had me thinking that I could make it better at home. When coming to a fancy restaurant, I expect flavors I don't think I can easily replicate, so to actually know I could make a superior stew is simply disappointing. I understand that realistically, the issues are my own expectations, but I don't think expecting something I can't easily surpass is too unreasonable. This place is definitely better than an average sit down place, but I wouldn't come expecting actual Creole flavors.
I decided on the blackened scallops. They were delicate, tender, and cooked to perfection with a light blackened seasoning. The pecan crusted chicken was ok. It was lightly sauced with a cream sauce of some sort. I was disappointed as it lacked flavor. They do however provide a nice vegetable side and rice so I didn’t leave hungry. But for me the chicken dish fell short. It may have been a bad selection on my part as other entrees looked better.
I guess I really wanted the food to look like the pictures at this place, but the food was great. Our server could have been a little more attentive, but considering the tip was already included, he did his best. My party will definitely be back. Thoroughly enjoyed our brunch despite a few hiccups.
My wife and I had a lovely lunch at the Warehouse, just before the ice storm. A very consistent restaurant over the years - always good. Our waiter Alberto, who has been there for years and knows his stuff recommended the Bronzino and the Lobster salad. I've had the Bronzino before and it was great as ever. It has a Cajun butter cream sauce with a nice crust. Not low calorie, but a treat.
Food appearance was disappointing. My meal was not what the menu said it would be. Had to send my steak back because it was well done and I ordered medium rare. Asparagus was way over cooked and the garlic mashed potatoes were dry. They were not busy at 6:00 at night so I would hope for better. look at these pictures not the quality that it should be. Will not return or recommend. My meal was the first picture, how sad for $54.95
First, I want to say my waiter was awesome. This is only good thing I have to say about this restaurant. I could not enjoy my meal with 2 mice running around the restaurant. 🤢🤮 Do Not Recommend. If exposed, seek medical attention & notify the health inspector asap!
