Leo's Taco Truck Alhambra Reviews
We were supposed to eat somewhere else was passing by my sister saw the pastor on the outside of the truck, which made us want to definitely eat here, service is great, lady who took our order is super sweet bilingual, and on top of that she also let us try the Aguas frescas to see which one we liked more. Definitely recommend the Horchata! Came here by accident, but will definitely come here again. The tacos were amazing especially the pastor and my sister loved her torta! Atmosphere reminded us of being back in Mexico when we would visit over the summers! Mexican APROVED!
Leo's Al pastor tacos are the closest thing to what you can get in LA and San Diego here in the Bay Area. It's flavorful and crispy and pairs well with the garnishes. Their other meats can be a miss, like the lingua, which is sometimes overcooked. Staff are friendly and food comes out relatively quickly. The accoutrements are some of the best parts of any order, so be sure to get everytying. They sometimes take awhile to set up so no need to rush getting there at opening unless you're down to wait. Parking is normally good, but getting out can be a pain since only one gate is normally open. I prefer eating it at home / work, but eating there is fine. Does get windy though. Anyways, worth a try if you are hankering for some good al pastor
Leo’s Tacos Food Truck is a late-night gem in San Mateo. So far, I’ve tried the tacos, sopes, and quesadillas (cabeza, al pastor, buche, tripa, carnitas, pollo, and lengua), and everything was great—flavorful meat and authentic tortillas. Garnishes like pico de gallo, cucumber and radish slices, and salsa roja and verde are available for free. Fun fact: There’s a Taco Bell across the street, and one night I saw one of their employees getting their dinner here instead!
Located across the street from Taco Bell on the busy El Camino Real in downtown San Mateo, this food truck is in a parking lot, and they serve up delicious tacos and nachos. A surprisingly large menu of Mexican delights, all the ingredients were fresh, including all the add-on sauces, salsa, onions, and cilantro. Fast and efficient service. The parking lot has about 10 parking spaces, and there are a couple of tables under a tent if you want to eat there.
This taco truck makes incredible Al Pastor tacos. Everything about the tacos is spot on. I had them in LA before and the San Mateo location is good too. Parking is easy and they have space to sit down and eat. 10/10 would recommend.
I’m so happy they opened their second location in San Mateo. One step closer to San Jose. Incredibly happy they decided to open in the bay. Like down south, Leos has become my go to spot for tacos al pasto, cabeza y tripa dorada. Can’t wait to go back!
Best Food Truck EVER! The al pastor tacos are fantastic.

Best Food Truck EVER! The al pastor tacos are fantastic.
Leo’s Taco Truck never disappoints — the food is absolutely delicious, and the sauces and sides (like pickled carrots and cucumber slices) are full of flavor and perfectly complement the food. Highly recommend Leo’s Taco Truck — both for the fantastic food and the wonderful people who run it! 🌮💛
Good tacos that where the meats were seasoned well. The salsa bar allowed up to try different combinations of toppings and overall it was a great experience. Fantastic value for money!!
Chopped beef tacos absolutely hit and were delicious. Quick 10 minute meal with great value. Definitely coming back!
Finally found a great California burrito in NorCal! Really nice people too. They moved into this lot recently, and I'm very happy they're here.
Best al pastor tacos and California burritos! So happy they’re here and hope they stay indefinitely
Love the pastor tacos. Very much authentic

Someone said that for the Bay Area it's a 4/4 but if you compare it to LA, they're a solid 3.5. I agree. They are generous with their meats. I had the Al pastor and carne asada tacos and filled my taco craving. There's just something about the flavor that's missing. I think there's some missed flavors from red salsa and green salsa. It gets busy, so the lines speak.
California burrito with pastor was very good. Nice ratio of meat, avocado, fries, and cheese. Knocking off a star because credit card fee is $1. That's 6.67% of the $15 burrito before tax, which is more than double the typical 3% CC fee you're charged with when shops do add this fee (most places remove it entirely and/or add the fee to the menu pricing instead).
Their vegetarian food was decent. They replace meat with beans and avocado if you ask them to make it vegetarian. The green salsa sauce was a bit spicy and tasted good. The red sauce is very spicy. Try it only if you can handle the spice.

By LA standards, this is a 3.5/5. by Bay Area standards this is a 4/4. All the meats are solid except maybe the carnitas.
Pretty average taste. I was super excited for this! But was a let down because how the taste is and the flavor profile. They can do much better with some simple changes. They need to to learn from tacos el Gordo chain.
I work next door. This place attracts a crowd so I was very curious. Ordered "signature" pastor taco & asada vampiro. Vampiro was better than pastor taco despite using shwarma machine. Signature pastor Pork was dry & tasteless
Was nickel and dimed into the most disappointing taco truck on the Peninsula. $39 for two burritos that were wrong and some chips even after the order was confirmed three times is kind of ridiculous. Not just verbally confirmed, even written down. Rice used as filler. Missed pico de gallo, missed sour cream, rice that wasn’t supposed to be there, $3.50 for chips, $1 to tap or use credit card . . . I guess we tried something new.

Not that great, had the al pastor burrito and it was tiny, meat was dry. My friend had the asada tacos and he liked them. Maybe I’m biased being from the east bay but it’s hard to find a good taco spot in the peninsula other than SF.
