Lucy's El Adobe Alhambra Reviews
My go to Mexican food place.Good atmosphere & friendly service..
Delicious straight forward Mexican food for a very fair price. Fun decor with so many different spaces. Staff was awesome. LOVED IT!
Just found out this is the cocktail bar where Tony Curtis met (and fell in love with) Janet Leigh. Always wondered if it was still there, amazing piece of Hollywood history.
Hola, And Hello. I would love to put a note that I Steve Acevedo did the painting of Lucy from her restaurant. A card or note. I love going there. Lucy become a good friend before dying. Steve Acevedo 2018 Muralist and Fine Artist God Bless Lucy.
This place is really authentic. The charm of the restaurant combined with the fantastic Chile Verde combo was great. Portions large enough to split. YUMMM!!!!!
Classic Hollywood restaurant with amazing Mexican food, starting with some delicious house made chips and salsa. Get the BBQ Beef Taco and thank me later.
Food is great. Prices are fair. Decor is unique. Staff in nice. Would love to come back
Super low key but cute environment. Authentic Mexican food -quite tasty but don't expect anything fancy!
I Love this place! The food is so good. The atmosphere is cozy and vean. I love the ambiance.
The service and food were excellent. They have a great outdoor seating are.
Headed over there after the 10/4 event! Great service! Great good! Relaxing atmosphere! 👍❤
The food was good and the location was walking distance from the hotel I was staying in. The staff was professional and the restaurant was clean.
Fantastic drinks, ambiance is great......great tacos, nice laid back patio
This restaurant is always a class act. Best margaritas I've ever had here.
The have the bestest salad dressing. And the front is clean no graffiti. And sideways clean.
Can't go wrong with this Hollywood staple. Great Mexican food and ambience.
Wonderful place great staff. Can’t even describe the ambiance it’s amazing!
This place has been there for years, has a placque from the city of Los Angeles in appreciation, and serves the best salad dressing I've ever tasted. The food is delicious, although a bit pricey, I make it a definite stop on my list whenever I'm in the area.
We went because this is where Linda Rondstat and Governor Jerry Brown met. Very authentic old school Mexican food. Spicy hot sauce and good food, friendly service. Liked it a lot. 2022 and 2023 update: it closed during the pandemic and has not re-opened.
I really like this place. It's a pretty large restaurant and there is always a spot to go for a quiet meal. The food is standard Mexican American fare. There are a two outdoor areas to have a meal or a drink. The restaurant is a popular celebrity hideout. It's located near a few Studios on Melrose and is almost always quiet. A newspaper article framed on the wall describes the atmosphere perfectly "where the elite meet discreetly."

The only place in the U.S. with Barbequed Beef Tacos and Lucy's secret salad dressing, butter-based, I think, is the world's best. A great place to see stars. The last time I was there, Diane Keaton was at a nearby table.
My boyfriend and I were served by Ricardo and he was so nice and made our experience at Lucy’s amazing! We are from Toronto, but travel to LA a lot to visit family; we will definitely be back! Thank you so much Ricardo, you were wonderful!
Its hard to give a tex-mex restaurant five stars. But They treat you like they are genuinely happy you came. The food is typical tex-mex fare, however everything is fresh, well prepared and reasonably priced. The restaurant has a rich history. Googling it will be entertaining.
I always make a first test with Chile Relleno in a Mexican place (Huntsville a mistake); ever since Linda Ronstadt met Jerry Brown here, the test was a smash success. I imagine Paramount happy worker-bees here for lunch daily! Killer Margaritas too, happy hour!
An amazing Hollywood establishment that has not changed since the 60s. Hosted by an incredible waiter by the name of Edwin we enjoyed the evening with the best margaritas in town and excellent Mexican cuisine. Nestled right on the corner of Melrose avenue right across the street from Paramount studios, you could almost pass this place if you weren't paying attention but do make the effort if you have not been. It's a wonderful dining experience, fast and friendly service with ambiance and Hollywood history all wrapped into one.
I can't wait until Lucy reopens. The food is traditional Mexican, simple, and very well done. Every meal starts with a cup of good lentil soup, followed by a simple yet delicious iceberg lettuce and tomato salad that has a dressing that tastes like butter. It's fantastic! Then, whether one orders enchiladas or tacos every meal is excellent
I go to this place almost every week. They have wonderful servers that have been there for decades that you will love to meet! There is a new blonde server there, she is beautiful and she works in the bar. All around great service, clean, and THE BEST Tacos, and House Dressing in town!
I ate my first meal at Lucy's in 1969 or 1970. I lived in Hollywood at the time so it was easy to be a regular. When I moved around the corner onto Windsor, there were days I ate there twice. I moved away in 1978 to the East coast and haven't found better Mexican food since. I had the occasion to visit L.A. in the 90s and Lucy's was one of my first stops. I had one other gray meal there about ten years ago and the food hadn't changed. You're missing something if you don't try it.
Lucy's was amazing! I'm so glad my friend recommended this place. The food was great, quick and service was excellent! The drinks were awesome and the ambience was spectacular! I'll definitely be back. Thank you!

Great chips and salsa here. Margarita was also very, very tasty!
I loved being there. We had dinner in the garden. What a cool place. Such an amazing history to the restaurant.
First time visiting recently, drinks were very good and strong. Long island ice teas in particular.
Great atmosphere. A lot of different seating arrangements. Foods pretty good
Dependable Mexican fare in an ever evolving yet somehow unchanged environment. Enchaladas Poblanas is a menu highlight.
Old fixture in Hollywood. The food is good and the prices are reasonable but nothing out of the ordinary or amazing. If you're looking for an adobe style atmosphere with old school boots and a ton of actors and politicians pictures with signatures this is the right place for you
A long-time Hollywood staple for Mexican food. For years, Lucy, herself, was always there, greeting politicians, celebrities, and neighborhood folk alike. The food is average, but the margaritas are good, and the cozy, funky atmosphere, which has remained unchanged for decades, is a welcome sight after all the overly chic, trying-too-hard joints on every corner.
After having countless meals at Lucy's I have never had a bad experience and have always been extremely satisfied. Some of the best chips and salsa in Los Angeles as well as one of the best margaritas. The only other restaurant that comes to mind when thinking about a chips and salsa rival is, Gilbert's el Indio. Lucy's food is a bit pricey but it's well worth it. This place will be on my frequent visit list as long as they exist.
Lucy's looks insignificant on the outside but is a delightful neighborhood Mexican eatery. It's more comfort than fancy. When I worked at Paramount this restaurant was an enjoyable place to eat off lot.

This place looks exactly like what happens when minimum wage is hiked way up. There are multiple bars and patios are left with an empty restaurant with one server and margaritas that are mostly cheap sweet and sour.
The food is just average but they have great margaritas and a nice back patio.
I love the ambience. The food was good, not great. I was slightly disappointed. I would not return
First time here. Definitely won't be back. First Margarita was okay. Second one was syrup only and the server try to argue with me about it when I asked to have a different one. Ended up paying $30 for one Margarita and one shot. How the hell is a margarita and a shot the same price?
Decent lunch special offer: for about $10 you can choose from the typical range of Mexican fare. I got a Tamale and Taco with a side of beans that did he job well. For a drink I had a Margarita that was just dismal - avoid. The place is very charming, properly lit (it's not too bright) and has a number of booths creating a great spot to share a meal with friends. Cool spot.

Server let us sit without menus, water or service after we waited 20 minutes and explained to the server that we had to go in 45 minutes. Need a manager to help customers.
Good service but the food was re-warmed? ? The chicken in the chicken burrito was dry and without Lucy's well known flavor. Regardless of what we (7) ordered, it was less than mediocre.
The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because the service was okay... the food however was HORRIBLE!! This is NOT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD!! The food was awful. No flavor, no presentation, and it was way OVERPRICED! To make matters worse; they make their guacamole with MAYONNAISE! 🤢🤢🤢 We won't be going back ever.

Honestly I don't see the hype if any... it's just an old landmark. . Food is not all that and there menu is small... I was expecting more... very disappointed. . But I could say been there! Done that!!! And fyi. Too pricy...
If you're looking for good food, go somewhere else. It was very disappointing. Honestly, this place is barely a step up from taco bell.
It was ok. The food was not great and was over priced for what it was. The staff was friendly. I bet in its hay day it was an amazing restaurant.
At first glance it appeared to be a nice place for my friend and i to have dinner & we regreted it the entire time we were there. Our waitress did not appear to have too many tables to handle and yet she could not do anything right. First my friend ordered a drink from bar and our waitress wanted to tell him they were out of basic items that no restaurant with a bar should be without. Then we asked to get an appetizer and it was never brought during the meal. It took an hour for her to even take our order. We ordered beef and after another lengthy wait she comes with chicken and actually acted put out when my friend refused wrong food and asked for what he ordered. I took wrong food, it had taken 1 1/2 hours to get wrong food and i was hungry. So it was another hour for my friend to get his food and for us to eat our meal. So 2 1/2 hours later as we got check we asked about drink from the bar that was never done and about our appetizer order the waitress just shrugged like it was no big deal. Then to add insult to injury the waitress says to us under her breath something about being drunk and it being her birthday. So we assumed she had work on her birthday so were prepared to be easy on her and then she joked that her birthday had been 2 days ago and she was still not over it. I would of spoken to the manager right then but my friend and i were both very unhappy and i was getting angrier by the minute. I have been a Chef for years and there is no way that i would of given a bill to a customer that had been gotten the kind of service i got that night. But yet we were still presented with a bill where we were charged for the drink from bar that was never brought to table and not once did I hear anything like an apology for the horrible service and treatment we got. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AND will never recommend it. What a joke!
