Saltlight Station Allen Reviews
Great parking, staff, and atmosphere. Ingredients are fresh and Pho is pho-nomenal. Coffee is delicious and bathrooms are clean. We'll be back for the banh mi!
Pho was flavorful and delicious. Staff is welcoming and friendly.
This was a swaggy little coffee shop. I did not eat any of the pho, but I caught a whiff of someone else’s and it was pretty good and made me feel warm inside. The Vietnamese coffee was really good, but I wouldn’t recommend drinking it at 8 pm like I did unless you are trying to pull an all nighter. Anyway, you should definitely go here unless you are trying to have a really bad time.
The staff is really friendly and the food was GREAT- Especially for the price. It's a unique spot, nothing like this around Plano and it's great! I had the Brisket Bahn Mi and I couldn't take a photo of it because it was already devoured. The coconut coffee I had was so much better than I expected. I will definitely be a regular here.
We had a great day here. I’ll preface this by saying we visited on a rainy Friday afternoon after double checking Google for business hours. I also ordered a noodle bowl and my friend had a rice bowl. We didn’t have any pho, so I can’t speak to that. I also always ask for everything very nicely. Sometimes people just make mistakes. I’ve never had an issue here and my little one likes the play area. I loved the rainy day vibe and iced coffee and soft jazz music. Me and my friend parked there and caught up over our food for a couple of hours. It’s a charming little place and I loved my food. The classic iced coffee was good and very strong. I will admit it’s a little pricey so dining here is a special treat. Especially when the sweet guy with pretty eyes works. He knows who he is. Kudos for making it such a nice visit.
I was so skeptical about this place until I read the great reviews, and I was not disappointed. Great food and good selection, from pho to desserts and even iced Vietnamese coffee! Also the place is very clean and looks nice. The pho is fresh and delicious and not greasy/oily like some other places. Haven't tasted their boba yet but I'll be back soon! New favorite pho place for sure.
The food is great, the drinks are always tasty, the staff is no nice, and as a mom of a toddler, I am so excited about the toddler play area inside! It’s so hard eating out with a little one, but having a space where he can get his wiggles out while we wait for food is so extremely thoughtful!
Very cozy atmosphere, great food, great amount of food for the price, very high quality. Feels like home even to non-Viet people, overall a very mellow and relaxed place to eat. Service is excellent, quick, and responsive. They have a drive through and do a wide array of delicious coffees and teas and offer takeaway for food. If pho isn't your thing they have some great rice bowls as well. Absolutely recommend trying the summer rolls here, they are perfection! Feels like a rest station straight out of FFXV!! To top it all off it's a locally, family-owned business. I hear they're starting open mic night soon as well. Come check it out! Edit: Evelyn and Allison were awesome and I hope you have the pleasure to meet them here!
I live for their sipping broth. Banh mi is also really great and the staff is friendly.
The food was so good! The staff was really friendly as well. It was our first time trying Pho and they gave us great recommendations. Very clean and relaxing environment. We got fried rice and the Texas pho. We will definitely be back!
This place is delicious every time. I got the tofu bahn mi sandwich today, and it was amazing. They use fresh veggies - and a delicious sariacha mayo, and the sandwich is on toasted bread. Update: Wow, this place is still amazing. The Jasmine Rice Bowl with tofu is perfection: everything cooked perfectly and so much flavor.
This place is kind of by itself, but don't pass over it. It's my favorite pho in DFW. Their coffee is great and the food is excellent.
Such a lovely place and amazing food! I’ve come here a couple times before but never wrote a review. First off THANK YOU for having a cute and safe play area for kids! Parents can eat the delicious food in peace while their kids enjoy. Second, the staff are the most lovely and kind people. God bless them. Love this place 😊
Fast service in the drive through delivering the freshest ingredients of Vietnamese staples . I was quickly impressed by the food’s freshness and delicious taste. I’m already looking forward to my next return to dine inside . The brisket tacos were unusual for a Pho restaurant but it was amazing with the dipping sauce provided. I like how the menu is very versatile and anyone can find something they like on the menu .
Excellent Experience! I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious—everything I hoped for and more. Since it was my first time visiting a place like this, I appreciated how helpful and friendly the staff was, making me feel comfortable and well taken care of. I ordered the brisket sandwich and a bowl of broth with spicy lemongrass, and both dishes exceeded my expectations with their rich flavors. I was so impressed that I ended up tipping a second time! Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and excellent service. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Stopped by since I was in the area for a Tofu Bahn Mi and it was so amazing! The veggies tasted crisp and fresh and the sandwich itself went great with the peanut hoisin sauce (took off the aioli). The location is quite nice too with such an open air vibe to it outside which also has some seating available to eat outdoors if you please. Instead, I decided to enjoy the meal from the trunk of my car with my dog and take in just the views. Will be back for sure, thanks Saltlight station team!
New favorite pho spot! The broth is rich, the noodles are perfect, and the flavors are amazing. Great service and cozy vibe. Highly recommend! 🍜✨
A true hidden Gem! This was our first time here, and the experience was amazing! Usually, when I buy pho, I have to start pouring in the Sriracha and hoisin, but not this one! I got the spicy broth, and I did not need to add a damn thing! It was perfect!! I got the medium size and it was plenty!! Lots of noodles and good amount of meat, so flavorful. We also got the pork Bahn mi , sooo good, soft inside and outside flaky bread. The summer rolls were also delicious and fresh! All in all, I'm so glad I found this place, this will be a regular stop!
Had this place for the first time and I was blown away. From the outside, Saltlight Station looked like an old gas station/old diner... but it was very good. I tried the Spicy Texas Pho with extra spicy sauce and it was fantastic. From the pictures, it does not look like a lot but it is... plus more. If you have not tried this place. Do so...because you will be blown away.
My family and I order at least once or twice per week. I usually order the Pork Noodle salad bowl and I add extra meat like chicken or even tofu. Sooo good! The meat is so flavorful.. The Pho is the best in this area. The flavors of the food speaks for itself. The rich flavored broth in the Pho is delicious. They have Vietnamese coffee , Boba tea and other drinks! My kids love the boba. My favorite is the Ginger Tea. It's actually made with Ginger, not a tea bag! Absolutely delicious. There are other delicious menu items too. I advise to visit the website. We always call over the phone and place an order, then pick it up at the drive thru. Also the service is great too ! Very nice people that own and run this restaurant.. It's very nice inside and so clean. I included a picture of the item I ordered. Love the Peanut dressing with my Pork Noodle salad bowl.
The atmosphere, the music, the service, the view, and the amazing food make this place a hidden gem. You go in and your greeted by a very welcoming and helpful staff, you can tell they really care about the costumers' experience. Our server Allyson (I hope I spelled that right) was magnificent. They played a range of classical and jazz music that made for an awesome relaxing mood that complimented the soft color interrior as well as the slideshow of nature pictures playing on their tv. The pho - delicious, their summer roles - amazing, and their tea is served stylishly in a large ergonomic glass with class and is some of the best this reviewer has ever had. Altogether my experience was wonderful and I'm excited to go back.
A nice, calm, inviting atmosphere with tasty food and great drinks. There are some fun, extra options such as craft soda and Henry's ice cream and classics like lattes or boba milk tea. The staff is so helpful and kind. The grounds are clean and well maintained. They have live music on Thursdays and even have some open mic nights. I love the multiple options afforded with a full restaurant and coffee shop with a laid back coffee house feel.
Delicious food with friendly and helpful wait staff in a cute and super clean restaurant. You know the pho is going to be good when you walk in the door and the wonderful aroma of simmering soup greets you! Spring rolls were gorgeous and fresh. The sesame dipping sauce was perfectly seasoned. My friend had the jalapeno/cilantro dipping sauce which was excellent, too. I'll definitely be back!
Saltlight has such amazing food. My wife and I come here all time and bring our son to play in the toddlers play area. Highly recommend the Pho and Fried Rice
Fresh and delicious Vietnamese food. The staff is helpful and friendly. We ordered at the drive through and they delivered the food to the car. The Bahn Mi is a must order. The summer rolls are a great light appetizer. The shrimp in the rice bowl was hot and cooked perfectly. If you are wanting something healthy and tasty: Give this place a try!
This is our first time visiting this restaurant. We didn't know that this building, which looks like a gas station from the outside, turned out to be a Vietnamese restaurant. If we hadn't read someone's recommendation on Facebook, we might never have known about this wonderful place. My husband and I love authentic Pho with traditional rich flavorful beef broth. So we came here and ordered two bowls of Texan Pho to try. To be honest, when our pho was served, I was a little disappointed after taking a sip of the soup. Although the soup was delicious, it didn’t seem like the traditional beef pho soup I was familiar with. But I must say that, other than being a bit too sweet and not having a strong beef flavor, it is still delicious. It is worth recommending that it has a lot of meat slices and a large amount of noodles. A bowl will definitely make you full until tomorrow! We also ordered Vietnamese iced coffee, summer roll, and Pork Banh Mi sandwich. The Vietnamese iced coffee is very authentic and tastes impeccable. Summer roll and Bahn mi tend to be fusion's flavors, especially Banh mi, which does not use traditional baguette. They are still delicious and the portion size was ample! Their service is excellent! Price is fair. Nice and clean fusion-looking dinning environment make us want to come visit again. If you like trendy Vietnamese food, this should be the restaurant for you. But if you like authentic Vietnamese taste, maybe this place is good enough for you to enjoy some good food with worries free. We would still highly recommend this place to everyone!
The service at SALTLIGHT is super friendly! It's rare that I want to finish drinking pho broth, because it usually leaves me feeling thirstier with all the added MSG at other restaurants, but it's so tasty here that I just order it straight up. The summer rolls here are my favorite. The coffee / hot chocolate here has cute designs on it. I also LOVE the honey lime tea here - it smells and tastes so good! Secret order: pecan pie + ice cream + espresso. Order them together and combine them for a real treat. Oh, I wish I lived closer, so I could come visit more often.
Stopped in for dinner and everything was stellar. The service was so friendly. The food came out super quick and was fresh and delicious. The chef even gave us samples of a new menu item they were working on and asked for feedback. Great vibes and cute place in a converted gas station. Definitely recommend.
When we first moved to Allen from SoCal, our first mission is to find a Pho restaurant. 'Lo and behold, Saltlight Station just happens to be a short 1 mile drive down from our residence! We quickly made friends with Frank, who shared a similar relocation story, and appreciate how the menu adapts to the Texan landscape. My go-to order items are the Texan with a side of large Vietnamese iced coffee. The Vietnamese iced coffee is legit here compared to "Vietnamese iced styled coffee" served at hippy coffee lounges (where you can order coffee, beer, cocktails and wine). The coffee will keep you up all night if you enjoy it late in the afternoon, so enjoy at your own risk! Definitely appreciate that I can enjoy a warm heaping bowl of Pho a short drive away, especially during those cold, stormy days.
Hands down, the best pho I’ve ever had! The meatballs are homemade, everything is so fresh, and the coffee is amazing. It was my first time trying this place, and I will definitely be coming back. Great customer service from both the guy and the girl at the front!
Portion sizes were on the smaller side, but overall, I’d definitely come back. The meat was tender and well-cooked, and the overall quality of the ingredients seemed pretty decent. One unique thing about this place is that they don’t bring out the usual plate of bean sprouts, basil, and other garnishes that typically accompany pho. The spring rolls were tasty — the pork especially stood out — though they were a bit smaller than expected. The atmosphere was pleasant and family-friendly, with a nice little play area for kids. Overall, a cool little spot worth checking out.
Super cute little restaurant! The outdoor patio space is really nice and the huge parking lot is awesome for parking a large trailer! The food was excellent! I ordered the ginger seasame chicken salad and loved it! Perfect, filling portions and the jasmine tea is so good! I can't wait to come back and try the Bahn mi!
What a unique restaurant! A former gas station turned into a pho joint! Amazing food! Food was clean and didn't have this weird smell from the meat that I get from other pho places. Mostly lean meat as well. Their serving sizes are worth the price. They are very generous with the meat as you'll have a slice for every bite. I ordered the Texan pho which is basically the combination pho from other pho place. This place is a hidden gem between Allen and E.Plano. I'm definitely going to be a regular customer from here on out!
February 2025 This restaurant is a destination due to its location. Good business strategy turning an old gas station into a restaurant with lots of parking spaces and outdoor seating. Very neat concept and nice decor with a collective theme. Even though I felt that the broth can be more flavorful not necessary with MSG enhancement, but it was hot. The stainless steel bowl served kept the soup HOT! That’s important for soup noodle. Hot food hot, cold food cold. I also felt that the meat portion was generous even though the pho is kind of pricy. I enjoyed the pho! My rating as 5 is very satisfied Taste 4/5 Temperature 5/5 good job Cleanliness 5/5 outstanding. I witnessed the server wiped down tables and chairs during his down time. Don’t see this often in restaurant. Attentiveness 5/5 Worth returning 4/5 due to its location and where I lived.
Phonomenal experience! My lunch special was a great deal at $14 with tofu pho, a fresh roll, and iced tea. The ingredients were top quality and the flavors were delightful! We will be back. ❤️ *Spicy lemongrass broth is SPICY! Update - We went back for more and it was utterly delicious AGAIN! I will never understand the low ratings for Saltlight Station… This is the best, cleanest pho I’ve had. Keep up the delicious work! Love you all and your super kind staff. ❤️
Was looking for a place that had Vietnamese coffee, this place had a drive thru so that was perfect! Was pleasantly surprised they also had food. Came back a second time to try the food and loved it. All the items were fresh and hot, whole family enjoyed everything. Love this place. Will definitely be returning!
The banh mi here isn’t exactly authentic, but they do hit all the right notes. The bread isn’t a fine Vietnamese baguette, but it is lightly crispy on the outside with a soft, fluffy crumb and good flavor. We tried the grilled pork and the brisket (it is Texas after all) and the salty seasoned meat paired well with the cilantro, pickled carrots, and cucumber. The carrots are lightly pickled - still lightly crunchy, but lends the sandwich additional flavor without being too sour. The vermicelli bun bowl was packed full and served hot. It was also flavorful and delicious, but we recommend mixing the fish sauce in a little at a time because putting all of it in was a little too much for our taste. Even so, we devoured the whole bowl. The restaurant is VERY kid friendly with a toddler play area indoors and a small slide set up in their outdoor eating area.
A real hidden gem along Greenville Ave between Plano and Allen, TX. It’s in a previous gas station all by itself. A wonderful delight for your palate. This is a family run place and I highly recommend the Prime Rib Pho Noodle Soup. I requested half spicy and half regular broth as suggested by the owner at the register. This was lip smacking good! I have also tried the Vermicelli Noodle Salad with Pork. Yum Yum for my tum tum!!! If you are a sandwich person the Banh Mi grilled pork sandwich is a definite must try and was the first item I tried there. Make note they are closed Friday and Saturday otherwise they are open Sunday thru Thursday 11 AM - 8 PM. Take the babies and toddlers as they have a huge play area for them.
I love the food here. I usually opt for the shrimp summer rolls or chicken banh mi and they even let me sub extra veggies in place of the rice noodles for the rolls. The smoothies and pho are good and well. The drive through adds convenience and the old gas station that they moved into offers a unique ambiance. Dining in however, it smells kind of funky and the kid's playpen seems more like a place for the workers' own children rather than customer's , (still not knocking that.) But would definitely recommend getting to go rather than eating in based on my experiences.
This place is a converted old gas station. Did not expect to see what I saw inside when I arrived. I like the concept and it’s very cute and inviting. Arrived on a Tuesday around noon and there were only 3 people eating which isn’t a good sign during peak time. Anyways, I ordered their lunch special. You get an entree, side and a drink for $9. I got the Brisket Pho ($1 up charge for the Brisket), Summer Roll with shrimp and a Cream soda. I’m not going to lie, when I saw the bowl of the lady sitting next to me, it looked really small. When my food arrived and I starting eating it, it was pretty filling and thought it’s not bad pricing for what you get. The pho was missing something (MSG, isn’t a bad thing) that I couldn’t put my hand on. It was okay, I’ve had better and worst but have to say it was pretty good to not have MSG. The summer roll was good. I liked the peanut sauce. On a side note, I tried my brother’s Iced Vietnamese Coffee and to me it wasn’t as strong as a Cafe Sua Da at other Pho Restaurant. Overall, I would be back. I don’t think the price is that high (for the lunch special) and the pho wasn’t bad. Might try other things on their menu. Only suggestion is that they should have used the original names of the vietnamese dishes.
The interior had a modern kitsch feel with a gas station-turned quick-stop restaurant look. The shrimp pho had good flavors. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the cheesesteak banh mi—it was overly greasy and heavy (of course, this is somewhat to be expected of the menu choice). The prices were a bit higher that other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve visited. But the store had an interesting choice of options (with tea drinks). And the servers were awesome!
Prime rib pho ($15) large (+$2) was Only OK. The broth here was very beefy. At first it lacked the pho taste, needed more “star“ & clove flavor. I only tasted the concentrated flavor near the bottom of my bowl. The meat was plentiful, tasty, & well cooked. But, I’m not sure why people started charging over $15+ for a bowl of pho. I have tried many of these restaurants. But have yet to find one, that has this overly expensive bowl of pho, that was worth the price. The decor was nice and clean. There was even a small place for very small kids to play. Good luck to the restaurant.
Nice little, what appears to be, a converted gas station converted into a Vietnamese food and drink shop. There was a nice little children's play area to the right inside. I had the lunch special of banh mi, spicy broth, and house tea for about $13. Over all pretty good, although there was no pate and bread was thicker than I'd like. Served with carrots, cilantro, and jalapeno. They also offer the option of ordering from your table on your phone as opposed to waiting in line at the counter.
Love the counter service format and the option to order at the kiosk. The relaxed ambiance features a well-lit dining area with soothing music and very polite staff. The menu offers a variety of drinks, making it a nice spot for dessert between meals as well. The food was decent, though not superior to other places in the area. Unfortunately, one of the grilled shrimp was not deveined, and having to remove the muddy intestines myself was unpleasant. Additionally, the pho portions are noticeably on the smaller side.
me and my bf came here to eat after shopping around at watters creek and it was so good!! i love banh mi so much and the one i got here was delicious. the pickled carrots really elevated it i just wish there was a little less of them bc each bite is either only meat, only carrot, or only cilantro. otherwise its really good price wise and the service and atmosphere was so perfect!! i love the little jazz instrumentals ☺️ and my bf loved his brisket pho ^_^
Service was almost non existent. Virtually no engagement with the customer . There were only 2 customers - myself and wife - so it's not like they were overwhelmed. As we were finishing someone finally came to ask how everything was. Cleanliness very good. Food pretty good. Our mistake was upgrading to spicy lemongrass broth. It was SPICY and no warning😁
Let me start by saying this is a review during COVID, where this restaurant is currently only drive-thru only. I also have been wanting to try it out for about two years, ever since I drove passed it. Therefore, I may have overhyped it in my mind. Due to their strange hours, and the fact that I rarely come to Allen, this was the first time I've been able to try it. All I can say is that I'm underwhelmed. The "very spicy" broth I ordered isn't anything special, on flavor or spice level. The Vietnamese coffee is also pretty standard. Definitely drinkable, but with a little bit of that burnt flavor that comes from using beans that aren't the best quality (I don't know where they get their beans). I think this place is meant to be more of a neighborhood restaurant (based on their hours), which is perfectly fine! I just don't think it's meant to be a destination place on the weekends. Glad I tried it, but won't be going out of my way to go again.
This has been our go-to place for Pho and Vietnamese for several years. The spicy lemongrass broth has always been a favorite. Our last visit fell a little short though. We had the chicken pho and a pork banh mi. Not as much flavor to the broth. Otherwise, the food was very good and fresh. Atmosphere-wise, there was a very unpleasant sewer smell inside the restaurant. I hope they are aware of this and get it taken care of soon. It made our dining experience much less enjoyable.
Tried another new Pho place. This place was friendly and easy to order- kiosk or in-person. No cash; Card or tap only. The flavor was good (slightly Americanized) but not good enough for the prices. I had: • Eye Round Pho (Medium) added extra meatball ($3) - had to doctor it up with extra limes and hoisin sauce. The broth tasted plain and not enough beef bone flavors. • Grilled Pork/Shrimp Combo Summer Rolls (barely had any shrimp— I think it was one shrimp cut in half). Peanut sauce needed more lime and hoisin. • Classic Vietnamese Iced Coffee- very good and strong with the right amount of sweetness. Total: $33.01 + $6 tip. I probably will not revisit… #tinzeats #nomnomnomin
Had the Ba'nh mi pork sandwich. It was just ok. Definitely needed more meat, to much carrot. There were a few bites all I got was carrot. There was no cucumber or pickled darken. The soup looked good, maybe if I go back I'll try that.
Kind of the Panda Express of pho restaurants. It's ok and it checks the box for a decent bowl of soup, but it doesn't really feel like a Vietnamese pho place. Or at least it's a pho place for gringos. No tendon (gan). No tripe (sach). No chili paste (sambal). Veggies served in bowl, rather than on side. The broth is kind of bland, seasoning is ok, but not enough beef flavor. Very generous portions of meat and al dente noodles. Coi cuon is ok. The grilled pork (thit nuong) was cooked ok, but the marinade/seasoning was underwhelming. It's a nice clean restaurant with a cool vibe. But not what I was looking for
The Texan pho was not good at all. Very bland broth and missing any of the traditional taste. Brisket was ok but too thin. The meatballs are chunky and similar to Italian meatballs. I took a few bites of the pho and could not force myself to eat the rest. I also ordered a pork banh mi and it was good, but on the salty side. Luckily I ordered the banh mi or it would have been another trip to get food elsewhere. Over priced for sub par food.
Size and portions were actually really great. More meat than other places. But it was just the broth that was not my favorite.
Service is kind. I was disappointed in the banh mi. The bread hurt my mouth it was too crunchy. There wasn't much filling and for the entire Bahn mi I was given 3 thin jalapeno slices. :(
We recently moved into the neighborhood and immediately wanted to try this place. Let me say that giving it 2 stars for the pho is being kind. We arrived and were immediately excited about the quirky ambiance of an old gas station being used as a restaurant. We even did the tourist thing and took a few pics as we entered. We ordered at the counter and ended up getting the Texan Pho, the peanut rolls, and my wife settled on the shrimp Pho since they did not have the prime rib Pho. The Ice tea was brisk and fresh. We quickly got the peanut roll. So far so good. The ambiance was good and the service was on point. The rolls were nothing to write home about, but good. Then our Pho arrived. I had the lemon grass broth & my wife had the regular with her shrimp. I can honestly say both were the worst Pho we have ever eaten. We love Pho and have tried tons of places all over DFW. The meat in the Texan Pho was dismal. The slices were dry, stringy and tasted on the verge of spoiling. The meatballs were like little balls of gross spice (fennel?). There were no fresh basil or cilantro leaves for the soup. There was just a lot of dried herb floating on the broth. The broth was ok at first taste but quickly got bitter from the dried herbs and bad meat floating in it. If you just want coffee, a weird place to hang out, and to laugh with your friends then this is the Pho place for you. If you want real GREAT Pho over over ambiance go to the place at Jupiter and 14th in Plano. Food is better and prices are cheaper and it's only 6ish minutes from this place.
This review is solely for their Texan Pho. Both times I've been here the broth was luke warm, most of the brisket had a ton of grisle, everything is so compacted in the to-go containers you have to dump it all out to get the noodles. Even after adding all of the toppings and sauces, the flavor isn't great. Not much broth for $12. I ended up throwing it away. Their entrance/exit has a very large "bump" that is downright hazardous on a 45mph street. *I'll stick to Pho Crystal*
I ordered the Texan Pho and it barely had vegetables. The been sprouts and cilantro were old and there were more cilantro stems than leaves. There were no sliced onion, scallion, basil, or lime. I included pictures. I did get a lemon slice, but not lime. Additionally, they tried to charge me twice for the two tai teas I ordered. They gave me a receipt that didn’t have the tai teas on them and told me to reorder the teas on the kiosk again. I totaled my whole order with the teas we ordered from their website online on my phone and it totaled to what they charged me. I informed him and he then says he had a ticket, he picked up that was right in front of him, with the teas on it and our other items. That his ticket that he gave me didn’t have them and then apologized. And we were the only people in line inside. Very odd so check your orders because if I would’ve went by their word they would’ve charged me twice for the teas. Not understanding why they had two tickets with one excluding the teas from the five things we ordered.
I was so excited to try this place but I left disappointed. When I entered I was greeted by the entire staff. I felt very welcomed and comfortable. I ordered the brisket pho. I loved that it looked super hot and fresh but it lacked a lot of flavor. I asked for chili paste thinking that it would help the pho but it didn’t. I took a few bites but it was just not good. I really wanted to like this place but it was not for me.
I am Vietnamese. this is not Vietnamese owned and barely qualifies as Vietnamese food. More like Asian Fusion and it's not very good. Very overpriced. I think it is trying to be trendy but falls short. Service was friendly, place was neat, clean, tidy. I have nothing against the owner to staff. The food was just not good. I would not eat here again nor recommend based on food taste and pricing.
Not authentic. It's half a bowl of bean sprouts, dry meat, and sweet broth. No herbs, hoisin, sriracha, or limes. All for $17. Not real baguettes for their banh mi so it came out soggy and that's $11. There's so many real Viet restaurants in the area that are so much cheaper using better quality ingredients. I always drive by this place and it's empty. I understand why now
So disappointed I had to leave a review. With so many pho options, go somewhere else. I tried this place based on their rating and I liked the concept of a drive thru. I ordered a chicken pho. They have the option of medium or large, I asked if I ordered a large can they make it half chicken and half tofu. They said no (I’ve never had a problem customizing my pho any where else, but here’s my first). I was asked if I wanted utensils and sauces, (most places just automatically give it to you assuming you’re civilized and will not scarf it down like a dog- and what is pho without hoisin and sriracha?). Maybe they’re minimizing expenses but if you pay $15 for a meal…. Seems like it should be automatic. They ring me up and ask me to park in front and they will bring out my order. The parking lot wasn’t full and only two more cars arrived after me and left with their food. I didn’t know why my simple order was taking so long. They brought me my food without a thank you or smile so I decided not to give them a cash tip. If their food was decent, I would not be leaving a complaint. However, I came home and my food was cold. A brown broth was served with my chicken pho but tasted terrible and bland. My fault for not asking for chicken broth for chicken pho. The portion is about the size of a cup of instant ramen. A cup of ramen tastes better than their pho. If you like Thai basil for your pho, forget it. What you see in my photo is all the greens you’ll get and 5 small slices of chicken. This place lacked taste, quality, customer service and is overpriced.
Edited after owners response: I removed the other 1 star review, that was done by accident, but I will keep this one. Your employee is LYING to you. She told my husband that she couldn’t refund because the owner wasn’t there and there was no manager there to refund either. It was after he said “ok, I’ll Leave a review” that she said that she could give us something else, to which he declined. I suggest you speak w her before you go around calling customers slanderers. I don’t care to defame any business but I do not like people who can’t own their mistakes. Hey, salty food happens, what made me mad was her lack of action as she shrugged her shoulders and told us we couldn’t get a refund. Don’t lie, not cool. I was excited to try it and we drove from Plano. Now will never be back. And while you’re at it, please issue my refund. Thanks Very disappointed in this restaurant. I expected better food. The pho was so salty. There are not many options, so we tried to get a refund and they wouldn’t give us one. Bad service all around.
The pho is not good . I could not eat it . It was expensive . The meat was tough and no flavor . The soup tasted like cinnamon.
Very pricey for the amount of food that you get. A small bowl with eye of round is $17. I might be spoiled because I live near a large Vietnamese community but traditional the noodles are more tender and their broth is more full of flavor. Also I'm not sure why they made the Banh Mi to his way but they stacked it from left to right instead of layering it from top to bottom. So on bite was all carrots, the next all cilantro and cucumber, and the next meat and mayo. The pork was really lacking the char and lemongrass I typically pick up at a Banh Mi shop
