The Blue Fish Allen Reviews
came in for lunch and asked the server vicky if they did chirashi bowls here and she hooked me up with the head sushi chef nano that he can make it for me! really appreciated the accommodations and help from both service and chef! enjoyed my lunch much more knowing they were able to make this chirashi bowl for me and will definitely come back!
We had the BEST meal, drinks, and service I've had in a long, long time. Starting with the drinks that Dieu made to the menu items he recommended. Everything was amazing and fresh. Everyone was so nice and hospitable! The manager, Khao, was awesome as well. He truly cares about his employees, which can be rare these days. He also made our experience wonderful and memorable. So much so, that I cant wait to come back in 2 days!! Great service, great food, and a great atmosphere! 10/10!!
Me and my wife had a wonderful experience at The Blue Fish. Our bartender, Anthony, was very attentive and made us delicious drinks! Everything was great, from the food to the service. The manager, Khoa, was also very kind. It was very obvious that he cares deeply about the restaurant, the guests, and his staff. We will definitely come back to try more things and hopefully get to experience the same service we received.
I recently visited this sushi restaurant and left completely satisfied. The sushi here is truly on point—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite was packed with the authentic taste I was hoping for, making it a memorable dining experience. Being from Hyderabad, I have tried many different cuisines, but finding high-quality sushi here can sometimes be a challenge. This place definitely exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail in the preparation and the balance of flavors in each roll were impressive. From the rice to the fresh fish, every component was perfect. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience as well. It was cozy yet modern, offering a relaxing environment to enjoy the meal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure that everything was to my liking. Service was smooth, and the food arrived promptly. Overall, I am genuinely satisfied with my visit. This restaurant has managed to deliver an authentic sushi experience right here in Hyderabad. I would highly recommend it to anyone craving quality Japanese cuisine. I look forward to returning soon to try more of their menu offerings and to relive this delicious experience. A definite five-star spot for sushi lovers!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great vibe, great service, great time! Had a wonderful visit to Blue Fish in Allen. The vibe here is fantastic — it's the perfect spot to unwind. The customer service at the bar was outstanding; the staff was friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. The food was delicious and satisfying. Overall, it was just a really great experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back again! Highly recommend if you’re looking for good food, drinks, and a positive atmosphere.
Randy- the sushi chef- is soooo sweet and nice. Khoa- the manager is also so kind as well. They had us for a private sushi making class and we ate all our rolls and more after. They treated us amazing. This was already my favorite restaurant for the food but now it’s also my favorite restaurant for the people.
Love Blue Fish in every way - outstanding service, fantastic food, great location, beautiful porch, awesome bar and drinks. Manager Khoa and staff members GiGi and Randy make the experience worth dining with them for lunch or dinner. Plenty of sushi options and been a favorite spot of our family since the kids were using high chairs there
My husband and I love blue fish. We used to frequent the original las colinas location before it was moved, then closed. Food is always fantastic, service at the Allen location was phenomenal. Price for a kids meal was more than my roll, so that was a bit off putting, but I knew we’d be dropping a good amount of money as they’re not cheap. Wish there was a location closer!
Best sushi place in the area, hands down! The fish is so fresh and flavorful. Staff are attentive and super friendly. I always make sure to have at least one dinner there when I’m in town and this last time I went twice in three nights. The food is just that good. The manager is maybe the nicest and most sincere guy I’ve ever met in the industry and it was a real pleasure to eat there again. Until next time!
My daughter & I come here about once a month. The food is consistently delicious, we love the famous Ahi Tower with Salmon with the Won Ton Chips, that’s always our our go to. They also do a fantastic Louisiana roll, Philadelphia roll, sashimi, poke bowl, everything we have tried has tasted amazing. The service by Gigi is the best, we request her section every time, she is such a delight, every time. And Khoa, the manager is just as wonderful as Gigi ! We appreciate them both so much, the Allen location is definitely our preferred location for this reason !
We went out for a bite to eat and a drink at the Blue Fish in Allen on a Friday night, and we were very pleased with the "reverse happy hour" menu, which was only available at the bar. The large hot sake wasn't our favorite, but it was a fun way to start the evening. The sushi tower was awesome, providing a lot of delicious food for a good price. We went with salmon, and it was great. Also tried the fried calamari, and it was so great we ordered another round. The ten dollar you call it well drinks were great: we tried strawberry margaritas. Bar tender was attentive, spot on with drinks and our food order. Everything was absolutely great. Restroom was clean. No military discount. Overall, excellent place in Watters Creek. Highly recommend!
Great location and atmosphere, service was great, never waited on anything. Wanting to try something different we ordered the Brussel Sprout appetizer, seared peppered tuna, a roll and the volcano. The Brussel sprouts were shredded and flash fried with pork belly and jalapeño, it was ok but not what we were expecting. The peppered tuna and roll were both delicious. The volcano with scallops was just ok, the sauce was a little off and thin. We will go back to try more traditional sushi as that seems to be their best entrees.
4.8 experience here. Food, service and atmosphere was great. Good selection of drinks, but would like to see a few more unique cocktails. Waygu beef was great, Fire Shrimp app was amazing and the sushi is as good as it gets. Spicy chicken was ok, little bland probably add a little salt wouldve brought out the flavors.
Beautiful location to grab a nice sushi lunch or dinner. Floor to ceiling glass allows plenty of light and views of the nearby green space and park. Parking was easy to come by on a weekday lunch visit, but may likely differ in the evenings or on weekends. Lunch specials included many bento boxes that were a great deal for the money considering the quality of the food and the portions. Great service as well. The spring rolls here were especially good, consider them for an appetizer. Solid spot for Japanese if you’re considering options in the area.
The choices were great and everything tasted wonderful. We had our favorites, which included the samurai roll & veggie roll, which were great, and the nigiri was nice and fresh. However, the service was awful! We were immediately greeted once we sat down but then the server was nowhere to be found. Well, I guess he was still around, but just not paying any attention to us. After a long time, we flagged him down and ordered. He apologized and offered us a free dessert. This was not a one-off. A gentleman near us was given a menu and was never addressed afterwards. He left, visibly upset. A couple against the wall sat and waited and waited and waited. We mentioned this to our server who just said those weren't his fault since they were not his tables. They were not busy....I'd guess 6 people inside and perhaps 12 outside. It was Friday, but past the dinner rush. We've always enjoyed Blue Fish and hopefully, this is a one-off. But if not, we'll be finding another choice.
Fairly boring. I used to love bluefish but the food has gone downhill. The 'wagyu' steak was chewy. The sushi was ok but not fantastic-which it used to be. The drinks cocktails/wine were the best things about this visit, sadly. Will choose better next birthday.
I had a few respectful questions about the menu for our waitress. I was specifically asking about getting a chirashi bowl, and the manager came to our table and stated in an aggressive tone that a poke bowl is the same thing (it really isn’t.. the Japanese would be offended if they heard that). He also said they could not make any changes or suggestions to the menu. At the same time, he sat down at our table and it was noticeable that he smelled strongly of cigarettes. I remained respectful throughout the interaction, but the tone and approach felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. Even the rest of my party commented that his behavior seemed odd and out of line. Food was fine but not what I was expecting. Image shown is 25$ of fish drowned in sauce…
I just wanted to start by saying avoid the RAW FOOD all the sushi was fishy and was clearly days old. Then one of us broke a glass and they said to not bring her back which was wild. The atmosphere was empty and it felt more like a bar then a sushi place.
1-Star Review for The Blue Fish – Allen, TX I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but what happened at The Blue Fish in Allen last night was shocking, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. My fiancée and I went on Wednesday because they advertise a “Two-for-One Sushi” promotion. At first, I asked if I could place a to-go order and still get the deal. The manager came over and rudely told us it was “dine-in only.” Fine—so we chose to dine in. After being seated, ordering drinks and appetizers, I asked our server how the promotion actually works. Only then did we learn that the “two-for-one” applies only to a few very basic sushi pieces—not to rolls, not to sashimi. Misleading, but I accepted it. We ordered mostly rolls knowing they weren’t included, plus one order of sushi that was part of the promotion. While still eating, I asked to add one tuna sushi and one salmon sushi—which were part of the eligible promotion. The same manager came back to our table and, again very rude, told me I couldn’t order more because I hadn’t finished all my rolls and had one piece of sushi left from my earlier order. I have never had a restaurant try to control what I’m allowed to order—especially with my bill already at $125. When I decided to just get the check and leave, I asked for a box for the few leftover pieces (only one of which was sushi from the promotion). The manager refused, saying I could not take the leftovers home. I told him that wasn’t legal—if I paid for it, it’s mine. He became even more aggressive, raised his voice, and told us to leave through the back door, not the front. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by any restaurant staff, anywhere. This was easily the worst customer service I’ve experienced in years. The manager’s behavior—rude, confrontational, and refusing both my order and my paid leftovers—is completely unacceptable and borderline unlawful. We will never return, and I strongly encourage ownership to address this manager’s behavior before more customers are treated this way.
As much as I come to Watters Creek, this was my first time trying Blue Fish. This seemed like a family friendly restaurant. I saw online they had a happy hour on some food so after my son was done playing at the playground, we came to eat here. We sat on the patio and the girl said happy hour is only at the bar but clearly I had my child so we couldn't sit there. I asked if they would honor food happy hour and they wouldn't or else they would have to for everyone. Why not just make happy hour on patio also for people who can't sit at bar? Not very considerate. I've been to others that were happy to honor it. For food, I tried the california roll and that was ok. It was not rolled right and kept falling apart. I also tried the Philadelphia roll and it was ok. Overpriced for what you get.
