Spice Thai Cafe Allen Reviews
Delicious Thai food! The flavors were amazing and everything tasted fresh. I’ll definitely order again.
i’ve had a few different meals here, all of which i’ve liked very much. My favorite being the thai fried rice with a level 2 spice, which tastes amazing every single time.
This takeout-only Thai restaurant nails everything I love about chicken satay - if you order only one thing, make it that. Great balance in the home made peanut sauce, and just the right sweet/vinegar cucumber mix. 10/10
Looooove Spice Thai, everything is always exactly as requested soooo good. Their soups are amazing, especially if you’re feeling under the weather. The won ton is my go to soup for a cold, I even order it to bring to my friends or family when they are sick.
This is a takeout only restaurant and it is clearly mentioned in their name. There are few seats to wait incase you order in store. Very quick in service.
My go-to place for Thai food. It’s take out only, so don’t expect much from an atmosphere perspective, but staff is friendly’ish.
I pick up from here a few times a month and it is consistently delicious, and the portions are generous. The Rhad Na, curries, and sticky rice are what keep us coming back, however we have also enjoyed the Pad See Ew, Pad Thai and Chicken with tamarind sauce. The owners are so friendly to us when we pick up, it's a good time!
I went here today for the first time and the food was scrumptious. We got cheese cake wontons on the house and it was to die for. The service was impeccable. I didn't know what I wanted and the lady cashier was so welcoming. I'll definitely be back when I travel from Wylie.
Just in case it's still not clear in the name of the restaurant on Google Reviews, or on their web site, Spice Thai Cafe is takeout only. The best way to order from this Thai restaurant, in my opinion, is to go to their web site and order for take out. This will save you time and you'll know your food is being prepared while you're getting ready to leave the house. Whenever we feel like Thai takeout, we order their pad thai, pad woon sen and kids' fried rice. Portions are satisfactory, sometimes going into the fridge as left overs. Their Thai iced coffee is delicious and gives me that caffein boost whenever I need it most. Service is quick and efficient, and always on time by the time I swing by to pick up our take out.
Get the Thai Menu. It is by far the best all around Thai restaurant in the DFW metroplex. Every dish I have had from the Thai menu has been excellent. The restaurant is delivery service and to-go only with no plans of changing. The Thai menu has new additions (Gaeng Som - Southern Thai Sour Curry, Gra Pow Kreung Nai Gai - Ground Chicken with Ground Livers and Gizzards stir fried with Basil) and all of the same favorites (Pla Goong - Shrimp Salad, Gra Pow Moo Krob - Fried Pork Belly stir fried with Green Beans and Basil)
Don't let initial impressions discount what comes out of the kitchen. Small restaurant (8 tables with 4 seats each) with single bathroom, we were fortunate to arrive right after a family of 8 was leaving. According to one of the employees, they had been there nearly two hours so luck was on our side. We ordered 4 appetizers and 5 entrees and dined family style. Cream cheese wontons ($4.95) were a hit. Crispy and filled with sweet cream cheese, a side of sweet and sour sauce accompanied the five pieces. Corn cakes ($5.95) and fried tofu ($4.95) were popular with the family too. Crispy shrimp rolls ($6.95) were okay. Pass on these and go with another option. Chicken basil fried rice ($10.95), chicken pad thai ($10.95), and chicken pad kee mow ($10.95) were served piping hot with generous portions of protein and vegetables. Jungle curry ($12.95) and pepper garlic shrimp ($11.95) came with a serving of white rice. Shrimp pieces were cooked just right and quite plump. Jungle curry had nice flavors and would've benefited from more vegetables. Service throughout the meal was attentive and consistent. Our glasses of water were kept full without having to ask for more. All in with 20% tip for our party of six was $100. Spice Thai Cafe is worth a visit or two or more. Just be prepared to wait if you're with a party of more than 4. For those more adventurous, there is the option for asking for their "Thai menu".
We are so fond of this place. The staff , they are super friendly, sweet, polite and the chef is a good cook. The portions are well served . Clean and small cute family operated thai place. Me and my husband we love this place and we often eat there. * Surprisingly, Cheap for great tasty yummy Thai Food*
Update - 8/28/22 Their prices went up 8/1 I was told but this is expected with the inflation. But the quality of the food drop drastically as well, very bland. Update - 3/15/22 Went back order the same. Mongolian beef with chicken as extra, Kids Chai Cafe, Thai fried rice. Now you get 4 spring rolls when you spend over $30. Good actually came out better than expected and on time too. We can kids chai Cafe, that chicken on that was really good but my son didn't like the sauce that came with it. The combination fried rice was good as well and we had the steak with plain fried rice. You get 4 springs rolls when u spend over $20. All came out nicely.
* Order over the phone & save yourself from paying the convenience fee ordering online. * I ordered a lot since it was my first time. The shrimp fried pineapple rice was mediocre, rice tasted like that "refrigerator smell". The corn caked were over fried and super hard to chew (great taste and amazing dipping sauce, just hard since it seemed overcooked). The fresh spring rolls with dipping sauce were good, large dipping sauce. The lettuce was browning and the first bit made the entire roll came undone (wasn't rolled properly), which is fine for me - I still ate it. BUT THE CRISPY SHRIMP ROLLS 😳 THEY WERE SOOOOOO GOOD LOL I DIDN'T EVEN TAKE A PICTURE, I FORGOT! THEY ARE SO AMAZING AND THEIR HOMEMADE SWEET& SOUR DIPPING SAUCE WAS DELICIOUS!!!! I WOULD COME BACK JUST FOR THIS APPETIZER.
I'm a regular at Spice Thai Cafe. I've ordered their yellow curry dozens of times because when it comes to the creaminess and flavor, they're the best in town. The yellow curry I received this evening is inedible. There is no cream, there is no coconut, it's missing spices. It tastes like spicy, yellow water. Perhaps they've changed their cook or their recipe, I don't know. I won't be ordering from them again. Time to find a new Thai place!
Absolutely terrible. I have no idea how this place is rated as a fan favorite. The Pad Kee Maow was the only thing remotely edible — everything else was a disaster. • Spring Rolls: Frozen, tasteless, and soggy. • Pad See Ew: Had a foul, almost rotten flavor. Requested hot but it was barely spicy at all. • Pad Thai: A mushy, sticky mess — noodles were overcooked beyond saving. • Basil Fried Rice: Completely flavorless and dry. If this is what they call “Thai food,” it’s an insult to the cuisine. Easily one of the worst meals I’ve had in years. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.
