The Pub McKinney Allen Reviews
This place is great. Had a Groupon and it was definitely worth it. Wife had the patty melt and sweet tater fries I has the fish and chips. Pleasantly surprised at the quality. Kudos to the chef. We will be back!
This place is one of my favorite spots in town! Food is always great & they have a couple specials each month aside from all of their normal items. Beer prices are less than average and they have a great selection. They make great cocktails. Atmosphere is laid back with a good mix of ages & types. There is always music in the background, but it's never so loud you can't carry on a conversation. Then there's the staff. They are awesome! Super friendly, bartenders are skilled, and they hustle both behind the bar and on the floor. Great people, great pub, great place to be!
The Staff here are very friendly and the place is very Lovely and spacious inside. The restrooms are always clean and smell good The place is always "spic and span" overall. The servers are very attentive and make sure I always have what I need ❤️ Their stew is off the chain and perfect for my diet preferences fr come check it out Y'all and they make a delicious God Father @Adrian L.
We were there about 5 pm on a Friday. Good atmosphere. Nice bar area. A few TV screens for sports, pool table, games, so the young ones might find something to occupy their time. Not too crowded and since you seat yourself we were able to quickly find a table. Our waitress promptly greeted us and took our drink orders. We ordered the Brisket Tacos ($14), three to an order, and the Brisket Quesadilla ($12), I think four to the order? Both were really good and I would order again. The portions are not large but should be good for the average person. Larger appetites might want to add an appetizer. You can find their full menu online.
We had never been , until today. Our server was great, can't remember his name, tall gentleman with long hair and beard, was very energetic and super polite! Food came out quickly and was so yummy! The music was a Gen X dream. Great drink menu as well! Husband had the triple whisky burger and I had the turkey Ruben and it was delicious 😋
I went to this pub on St. Patrick's day. There were a lot of St. Patrick's day themed decorations and some men playing the bag pipes and drum!We enjoyed the festivities and atmosphere. Our server, Jordan, was attentive and made sure our orders were taken correctly and our meals were served like we had asked them to made. The menu items are very affordable and taste great. After we finished our meals we played pool. I definitely recommend going here.
Nice pub. Pool tables in the back. Good selection of beers and cocktails. Food was very good and they allow for split/shared plates with my wife. Big projection screen for the big game.
My visit was brief because I had something to go to and couldn't hang around for long. But the short time I was there it was all good. It was Tuesday evening, so probably not the kind of crowd they might get on weekends. So I'll have to go back on a Friday night or Saturday night to see what it's like then. As for the food, I got their main Burgers selection which was big and good. The sweet potato fries or on the soft side, but not bad. They tasted great as did the Irish red ale I got
The N.Y. Strip served with a side of mushrooms was excellent. The Pork Chop was served with peach reduction and a side of asparagus and was delicious. All in all an excellent meal. Until it came to dessert. We ordered the Butterscotch Pudding. A glass jar with something in it and a small cup of cookie crumbles. Not quite what we were expecting after such a good meal. But, maybe it wasn't supposed to be served that way. One thing, we've eaten food in several different continents and traveled. So quality food is something we have experienced. The Sugar Bacon restaurant was one We'd recommend and we think you'll like it. Just ask about the dessert before you order.
$54 tab and I gave $60. Taylor had the assumption that I didn't need my $6 back! Still gave him a little extra but had he given me back my change and not made an assumption it would've been more. As a manager/Leader wouldn't approve of this behavior!!!
Visited on a weekday, Thursday, April 3rd, and arrived around 10:40 PM since the place closes at 2 AM. When I asked at the bar, they told us we could sit wherever we wanted and that someone would come to take our order. After seating ourselves, we waited for almost 25 minutes, but no one came to take our order. I went to the bar counter to mention it, but nothing changed. I ended up ordering two drinks directly at the bar and left after that. The vibe just didn’t feel right, and the service definitely needs improvement. Disappointing experience overall.
Me, my wife, and our two other friends went out for my 21st birthday and after eating and having some drinks at Union Bear across the street, we went into The Pub and when I went to ask for a drink the owner asked for my ID and I gladly handed it to him. He then told me he hasn’t seen an ID like this and said he can’t exempt it and told me to leave. My ID is the new Texas drivers licenses. Will not be coming back
I’ve been a dozen times and the atmosphere is always weird and hostile. Kept thinking maybe I keep going in on off days, but I think it’s just a lost cause. The entire staff is snobby, unmannered, and acts like every person that walks into the bar reminds them of their high school bullies. Doesn’t matter how nice and polite you are, they will make you feel like you are the biggest inconvenience. Full grown adults acting like moody teenagers that were forced to get a job by mommy.
Been here before with no issues, so not sure what happened when I stopped in here last time. I came in around 2:30 with the intention of having lunch and playing some darts. Walked in, it wasn’t very busy. There were some people at the bar and maybe 1 table sat. The bartender greeted us and told us to sit wherever we’d like, and that was the last we saw of her. We sat down and read our menus, closed them, and waited, and no one ever came to our table. During this time, 2 other tables were sat. I noticed several issues. The bartender was greeting tables one at a time. She was also greeting tables by proximity to the bar, not by who came in first. We watched the 2 other tables that came in after us get greeted first. Some constructive feedback would be to treat all the tables on the floor as one table. It doesn’t take much more effort to greet all the seated tables all together, take all the drink orders together, etc. Rather than greeting them one at a time, making the drinks one table at a time. You will be in the weeds all day if you do it that way. Also, several other employees walked past us while we were there. If you work in a restaurant and see a table with no drink coasters and they have been there a while, not a bad idea to check and make sure they have been taken care of. Eventually we got up and left, no one said a word. We walked across the street to El Mejor, were greeted immediately and received great service. I recommend others do the same.
Stopped by Monday afternoon for cocktail and appetizers. Sat on the patio as it was a beautiful day. No one came out. OK, no big deal, probably didn't notice us. Went in, stood at the bar, watched 3 employees behind the bar visiting/ignoring me. One brought the woman sitting in the barstool next to where I was standing another drink. Made eye contact, the turned and went back to her conversation with her coworkers. Obviously left and won't be back.
