Restaurante Bolsillones Almagro Reviews
Recomendable.
My husband and I had dinner tonight, and I have to say it's the best place we've eaten in the two days we've been in Almagro. It's a shame we're leaving tomorrow, otherwise we'd definitely come back. The waitresses were very attentive, and the food was delicious. The only downside was that there was so much food, because the portions are huge, and we couldn't finish it all. We ordered drinks and they brought us a free tapa. It's nice that when you order another drink, they give you another tapa; most places don't do that once you're already eating. We ordered a burrata salad with fig honey that was absolutely divine, and a selection of Manchego dishes that included cheese, roasted vegetables, ratatouille with egg, and migas (a traditional breadcrumb dish). Oh my goodness, those migas were amazing! They melted in your mouth! We'll definitely be back when we return to Almagro!
It was recommended to us, and it was a great choice. It's just a five-minute walk from Almagro's main square. The food is homemade, delicious, and the portions/dishes are quite large. You can enjoy everything from typical Manchego dishes to burgers with their own seasoning, or more unusual dishes like oxtail bao.
Two people ate here, and it was very pleasant. The service was very friendly and prompt, both in taking our orders and in serving our dishes. They were also very attentive, asking us several times if everything was okay and if we needed anything. It's worth noting that reservations are not accepted on weekends; it's first-come, first-served, so it's best to arrive early, as it gets busy. They have tables both outside and on the terrace. Regarding the food, there are several highlights, starting with the tapas that go with the drink. In our case, it was croquettes, and they were delicious, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. As for the main dishes, they are good-sized and very reasonably priced. The oxtail baonde stands out, as we were surprised by how good it was and how substantial it was for its price. Finally, the desserts are a ten. We were left wanting to try the Josefa cake, which was sold out, but both the tiramisu (the house cake) and the brioche were very good. As for desserts, be careful, they're also quite generous, and if you're already feeling hungry, they can take a while. The bill for two with drinks, three sharing dishes, and dessert came to about €25 per person. Highly recommended, and we'll return if we're in Almagro.
Delicious homemade food. The €12 weekly menu is exceptional value for money, and the staff are incredibly friendly. We've eaten there three times; some dishes reminded me of my grandmother's cooking (the whiting was so fresh and fried to perfection). I was so impressed I didn't even take a picture! 🤣🤣🤣
The best place I ate in Almagro all weekend. We had to wait a bit for a table at the bar because we arrived after 9 pm, but it was worth it (and they offered us a table shortly after, but we stayed at the bar). The tuna tartare and the braised beef cheek brioche were excellent. The brioche wasn't too spicy (perfect for those wary of heat), you could barely taste it. Drinks include a free tapa, which you can choose from a selection. We tried the large, creamy, and delicious croquette, and the Caesar taco, which was also very good. Highly recommended and quite reasonably priced.
We had a half portion of migas (a traditional Spanish dish) and a half cheese board to share, plus two hamburgers: the Gourmet and the Scarmoza. All the food was delicious and the portions were generous. Excellent value for money. We didn't have dessert, but it looked delicious. The bill was served in a VHS case, which I thought was very original. They don't take reservations on weekends, which I think is great. Highly recommended.
We went for dinner based on the reviews and what a great choice! Each drink comes with a complimentary tapa; it's not just a simple bread and cured meat. You can tell they put a lot of care into the preparation. We tried the Manchego tasting menu, and every dish was a delight. And I have to give a special mention to the staff, especially the waitresses. They were attentive to every detail, even when the restaurant was full and people were waiting. They were always looking out for their customers. If you leave satisfied, it's largely thanks to them—hats off to them! The quality/price ratio is outstanding.
Great menu del dia, food was excellent and very good value for money. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.
We had a very nice evening at this tapas restaurant. The food was really good, though difficult for us to understand what everything was. But the waitress knew some basic English and was glad to help us! Very friendly people, with nice atmosphere. Lots of locals come there to eat. The size of the portions is a-okay, too. The food arrived fast. Recommended!
Top!!!
Good selection of drinks, great food, nice staff. Highly recommended!
MiniGoirmets! ^^ yum!
We had dinner there and were really surprised by the fusion of flavors; the oxtail hot dog and the pig's trotter bao were delicious. The cheese board wasn't anything special. The staff were very friendly and seemed to be working non-stop. It's a great place for dinner.
Good déco Reasonably priced tapas, racîones and drinks. Try the "volcanic" red wine
Ok
They don't have half of the stuff on the menu during the week. We've came three times to have a burrito and they didn't have it. 🌯🌯🌯 But always have the durum, it's pleasant enough but not what I wanted. I wouldn't recommend the tapa pictured bombas, weird balls covered in tomato soup.
