So yummy! I loved the house potatoes so much--buttery, flavorful, first set of house potatoes that I didn't need ketchup for (note: my spouse said they needed a little more salt, and I eat way less salt than a regular person, so they're great, but might need salt for you). Egg breakfast, my over medium eggs were perfect. Homemade sausage, a tad on the spicy side but yummy. My partner had chillaquilles and loved them (good and spicy for him). And they have derby pie which is unique!

The shrimp and grits were delicious as were the pies. The service was great and our waitress was a peach. This place is a gem 😊

As a fox lover, this dining location initially presented what would be a personal bias to appreciate the fare offered, but it was more than just a simple name or picturesque appreciation. Upon arriving on a Sunday afternoon, the facility was full on customers, which demonstrated an excellent sense of popularity among the locals, if not visitors from out of town. We were greeted graciously and a table arranged accordingly. The menu was simple in its selection of breakfast and luncheon fare, some of which bore endearing names such as Noah's Ark (two pancakes, two eggs and two bacon strips, with offered substitutes). Drinks were equally balanced in options for quantity and allowing easy decision. Our host was a pleasant individual, keen to share additions with enthusiasm on the part of the cooks who prepared everything, from baked goods to other available cuisine. The results of our requests were met with prompt time that involved little waiting, with attention to detail on concerns such as taking precautions against health hazards, as well as ensuring that all was cooked safely and efficiently. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed the fare to his or her own positive satisfaction. A selection of desserts was offered after the meal, which we graciously declined, with the assurance to sample at a future time, having been pleasantly content with the provided luncheon. The interior itself once bore much decor of foxes, per the facility's name, but after a recent remodeling, the transition to include such wall furnishings was still a lesser priority over serving the customers. It is something this one shall take to mind about assisting where available. Against such barren displays, the atmosphere was endearing to maintain that warm, family-oriented, country style that gives one a relaxed peace of mind while dining. To the owners and staff members of Fox's, thank you for a wonderful first experience. May it be soon that this one returns again, eager to welcome your culinary services, with shared joy and prosperity.

I finally went in to have dinner on Sunday. I found the hours of operation interesting. I tried the special of the day-turkey burger with a Chipotle sauce...omg! It was perfection. I ate every last bite. My daughter ordered a BLT. She was impressed too. The menu is unlike others so now I want to try everything on the menu. I'll try to remember to take a pic next time. Highly recommended 👌

I love this place so much! Their Rueben is my favorite I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a LOT!) Recently had the BLT for something lighter and oh em, it is amazing too! The sweet potato fries are delicious! The service is always perfect.

I was going to try this restaurant in Altadena and I'm glad I did. The feeling of real people enjoying breakfast and talking to each other!!! NO Phone noise just people enjoying the great atmosphere of a waitress who wanted to wait on me. She smiled and made my day when I walked in. The food fantastic and priced good. Coffee 😋.

The food is amazing! I had the Green Goddess Cobb salad, my friend had the BLT, and my other friend had a fried egg sandwich. They were all delicious! I loved the sweet potato fries as well. The service wasn't the best. The guy definitely had a very grumpy disposition and attitude. However, the food was great enough it didn't matter.

I took my son here for lunch. He had a kids cheese burger and it was huge and served with a ton of fries. And I got a BLT, which came with a salad and was quite good. Their lemonade is on point. Kinda wish I had room for their coconut keylime pie, but ,alas. A reason to go back!! The service was great and they managed to get the door seated pretty quickly despite how busy it was.

Tried this place for the first time over the weekend and my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised. We ordered pick up and didn't have to wait long. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the french toast and my boyfriend got the burrito. We will be trying this again soon.

Home style and incredibly cute restaurant. I enjoyed fluffly and delicious pancakes and eggs dish. My two companions ordered the green goddess omelet and loved it. All in all a great first visit. We'll be back !

Shoutout to the waiter who was serving all the tables, answering phones, clearing tables, everything but making the food and kept a positive attitude the whole time. He was super attentive. Be sure to call ahead and reserve a table, it's a bit small inside so it fills up fast. The food was awesome! It's a little bit of a wait so grab a beer or glass of wine and enjoy your company. Date night was a success 💙💙

True old-fashioned American breakfast place. The crew is very friendly. Everything is made fresh in the kitchen. The only issue is that parking is only on the street (but it's healthy to have a short walk after a good meal 😉).

The food was good, if you don't like very salty pork butt and tough to eat. The grits and shrimp were really good. Friendly Service. Chicken salad 👍, avocado toast 👍 - were very tasty

We stumbled upon this place after shopping at Pasadena City College and weren’t disappointed. It was a rainy day so the outside seating wasn’t being used, and their was a line for inside seating. Despite them being extremely busy, the staff was hustling to accommodate everyone with their inside seating. The front room was packed and the seating was intimate, but it never felt tight, and there was seating at the rear as well. They have a retro look, but the food is a combo of old American classics like French Toast, but also items like Chilaquiles and other outliers I didn’t expect to see. I was surprised how soon the food arrived. They should rename their house potatoes to Goldilocks potatoes, because they’re not too crunchy, and not too soft, but just right. Some of the best potatoes we’ve ever had, no joke. The side of Chicken sausage was incredibly juicy and tender, cooked to perfection, and the French Toast light and fluffy. The Goddess omelet was chock full of veggies that were quickly scarfed down. We were completely full at the end. Fox’s is definitely a place we would return to try some of the other menu items.

I went there for brunch with friends and the only thing we wanted more of was wait staff. However, we assume it's due to the pandemic. On the bright side, the food was exquisite. My rueben sandwich and pozole were perfect. When I ordered the pozole, I was skeptical, but man they did it right. The dollop of sour cream was well-placed. My partner had the sweet potato and shrimp hash which she found to be delicious and the shrimp was very well-cooked, given how easy it is to overcook it. The sangria was delicious. The fruit inside was fresh and far from soggy. The pancakes were nice and fluffy, just like the atmosphere. My partner and I are already talking about our subsequent return.

I had to drive an hour and a few minutes west to Altadena to pick up some artwork I bought online and having never been there before, the first thing I did was Google “places to eat in Altadena.” I’m not big on American food, with one exception: diners. I love diners. And I LOVE fish and chips. When I saw this place I knew I had to check it out. I love Foxes too, so the sign immediately got my attention. It’s a tiny little place. I guess it’s been there forever. And it looks like it’s been there forever. Retro furniture, the retro star wallpaper, and the red and black checkered floors were such a welcome sight to my vintage loving soul. The service was friendly. The customers were diverse. All ages, shapes, sizes and colors. All good things. They had a menu board with a variety of different pies but they were all sold out. We went at like 1pm on a Tuesday though so for a place that closes at 2, we showed up too late I guess. And that’s not a complaint. That just tells me that they’re worth showing up earlier for. I got the fish and chips. I get fish and chips everywhere I go that has it more or less and I don’t make this statement lightly- this was the best I’ve ever had. The breading was crisp but soft at the same time, like a funnel cake texture almost. The fries were perfect. They tasted like the fresh cut ones I’d get at the fair every fall growing up. The grilled lemon was a nice touch. My husband had breakfast, French toast, eggs, bacon, and the house made sausage. He loved it. There wasn’t anything left on either of our plates. So how good is this place? Let me put it this way…it took me longer to drive here one way than it did to get my food and eat it, and I work night shift where I usually sleep on my days off till 5-6 pm, and this place closes at 2pm…and I fully intend to make this a regular destination. Five stars, no question! If you love diners, check it out. It wasn’t my reason for coming to Altadena today, but it will be the reason I return. We are new to California and this is definitely going to be one of our spots. Great prices and big portions. Love it!

I have nothing bad to say about this place. Everything was wonderful! The wait staff were very nice and very informative. Almost everything there is made in house. Everything we ate was perfection. I had the shrimp and grits- awesome! And my boyfriend had the fish and chips and they were fantastic! The desserts were absolutely delicious and decadent! Will definitely be back! Maybe tonight! 😂 but really, I want to try everything on the menu!!

Fox's? I thought it was pretty good, actually. I ordered pancakes, which is the basic food I like to order at a place I don't know - to kind of gauge how their things will be. I like to do that at any restaurant that is an unknown to me, as there's always some food I do know that they make and I can taste it that way and see what they're like. One of my associates who came with me ordered corned beef but it came with a horseradish sauce not on the side, but mixed in, which, since he wasn't ready for it, tasted "chemically" to him and he didn't like it. I think overall they're an okay place, maybe a little caught up in the hoopla of being hipster and not being as down-to-earth as they could be, but that's just an opinion right? I like their food and thought it was a place that you could go back to, although it's not meant for average income people. I think it's really meant for hipsters and people who have some money to burn and I believe they cater to that- no harm on them right it just the way they do it.

Fox's restaurant is my favorite restaurant of Altadena and Pasadena. They have the best breakfast and lunch food in the area. It's quaint and comfy, and in the last year that we have been coming here, they have become more popular. I ~love their burger (blue cheese, bacon mayo, and grilled) and their eggs benedict is amazing and delicious. I'm not to favoritive of their house potatoes, but they compliment the eggs benedict well. My Girlfriend loves their french toast and orders it almond everytime. She also loved their ruben sandwich and the Noah's ark is a fun meal. I do not recommend their chiliquiles. The only other comparable restaurant I know is Millie's cafe, and they fall behind Fox's restaurant in service and wait time.

Wow. Drove by this place on our way to a hike. Decided to stop for a quick bite on our way out. They didn’t open until 5 so we were about to leave when Armando pulled up and offered to serve us a beverage if we waited for 20 minutes while they opened. We obliged and I’m glad we did. Such a gem. Food was so good we went for the sweet potato donuts and Reuben. Need to come back for a real dinner and definitely their breakfast. Also, I must say, Armando is one of the best waiters I’ve ever had. Such a good vibe. Sweet sweet guy and such a professional. See you guys soon!

Full of character. This small joint gives you that small town feeling that almost anyone yearns for nowadays. It could be a great pit stop before a hike to Echo Mountain, Cobb Estate, etc. or a recharge right after. The breakfast burrito is delicious and very large which could easily be shared if you haven’t been starving for multiple days. Coffee is way above average for a batch brew. Service is practical and fast. I’ll definitely revisit.

Super homey food joint with a delicious menu. My husband had the French toast with a side of maplewood bacon. I had the crab and cream cheese relleno with an egg and beans on top. This restaurant is a cute, smaller restaurant. They had very delicious breakfast that I loved, but the service was awkward and a lack of. I ordered coffee and creamer and it took forever to get anyone to come back to the table to take our order for food(I didn't have any silverare to stir my coffee). Then the waiter was sarcastic with the food choice. They brought the food out and we still didn't have utensils... then they finally brought the utensils... never refilled the drinks. Then dropped the check, but we waited so long for them to come get out cards and we eventually had to go find them to pay. Not very friendly. This place had such good food... unfortunately the service sucked.

We stopped here because it was a local restaurant and not a chain restaurant. Overall, it was okay. The pancakes were a little chewy, and the bacon that was in my omelet was very rubbery. But overall it tasted good.

Stopped by on a Friday around noon. There is no parking lot, just street parking. The restaurant is small but they seat you quite quickly. It has a retro look/feel to it. Our waitress was a nice older lady. We ordered pancakes, house potatoes, and Chorizo burrito. The pancakes were fluffy and definitely had a nice homemade taste to it. It definitely will fill you up with just 1. The house potatoes had good flavor. They are definitely better than Millie's Cafe potatoes which have no flavor at all. The Chorizo burrito was a bit bland. Nothing to rave about. I might come back to try their pie though, which was sold out.

Food is fresh, cooked through but nothing was tasty. Ordered a fried egg sandwich with ham and home potatoes. Somehow they managed to cook the flavor out of their homemade ham. Other than way too much pepper the potatoes taste like nothing. On top of that, service was subpar despite the few table that were seated. I would have brought up my complaints but was ignored until the check was placed on my table. I decided to just pay my bill and leave. The dining experience I had concluded and that was that. Got tasty pastry elsewhere to cleanse my palate. 😉

We were a party of two from out of town. Street parking only. We were seated pretty quickly, INSIDE. Took about 20 minutes from the time we were seated for us to get our drinks and then another 15 or so for our waitress to come to our table. Erin, our waitress, took our order and did not check on us at all after that. She skipped our table multiple times, not making eye contact, nothing. We tried getting her attention multiple times but couldn’t due to her not even looking in our direction. Other tables seated after us had her full attention while we were waiting and waiting and waiting for a coffee refill. I had to get up to get my own coffee refill from a different staff member. That staff member apologized. The food was okay. The bacon and egg omelet had cheese but most of it was unmelted so that was kind of a let down. 6/10. The bacon though was GOOOOD. We also got the French toast. Pretty thick slices so it was kind of dry. The syrup really helped. 7/10. Honestly, I think I we would have enjoyed the food more if we didn’t feel like we were ignored. When we finished the food, the host took our plates away and we were waiting a good 20-30 minutes after for out waitress to come and bring the check or at least check on us. NOTHING. The only way I was “helped” was by standing by the server computer. Erin sounded annoyed and asked which table we were sitting at. WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHICH TABLE? We were INSIDE and you walked by us multiple times. The whole experience just left a bad taste in my mouth and was super disappointing. I’m sure everyone else had a good experience but man… being ignored at a restaurant by our waitress does not make you want to come back. I would have rather gone to Burger King if I knew that’s how we were going to be treated.

I was very disappointed. I couldn't wait to eat there. My bacon tasted like cardboard. My potatoes were barely warm and the eggs were horrible. My toast was very hard. I watched the waitress having long small talk with another table. Afterwards she offered each table more coffee except me.I had to ask for more coffee. It was too expensive due to the horrible service and poor food. I expected a nice warm experience but instead it was cold. I'm over it after so much anticipation to eat there

It was not a good experience, and we will not be back. The eggs were good, but the one piece of toast was cold, and didn't have any butter on it. The potatoes, bacon, and sausage was horrible.
