Tosta'o Alto Reviews
This place is great! Food, service and drinks are amazing, and they had this on the menu right before we went to see Busta Rhymes at OTR Live!
Amazingly delicious! Gracious host! Hands down, thumbs up, best Mexican food in the city.
Great food & fun atmosphere. Karaoke nights still happen here. It's that "Cheers" type of place. The owner and staff also wonderful.
We were there on a Monday. It was slow. The service was excellent and the food was fresh. I had the carnitas dinner. The pork was moist and they subed veggies for beans. Decent drink prices and margarita specials on Monday. Fresh salsa and guacamole , not too spicy.
My favorite weekend bar for popular karaoke. Drinks are great, staff is great, it’s all reasonably priced. The DJ even agreed to start early for us for a going away party we threw. Cant beat the good vibes
Lauren was an amazing server! Probably one of the top 3 we've ever had in all of our restaurant experiences. The food was amazing and huge portions. We aren't from the area and passed by on our way to a concert at Riverfront. We are happy we chose this place for dinner before our show! Thank you Lauren for making our 1st experience fast, efficient and friendly, you're the best!
This is quite possibly one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to ever. The tacos, soup & salsa were made with REAL ingredients. The staff were incredibly kind and professional. A five-star experience from beginning to end.
One of the best Mexican restaurants around. Food came out fast and fresh. Big servings of food for the money. Chips and salsa was very fresh and salsa was better than most places. Checked on by multiple servers and we'll taken care of. Staff is all very friendly. All prices are great for the amount of food. Will return again
This is one of the best places I have eaten in a long time. If you're in a hurry it may not be the place for you but if you have time to sit down and spend some quality time with some friends or family this is definitely your place. The food was excellent with a capital "E". The staff was friendly and great. The owner was a very nice man and you could tell he was passionate about what he does. The atmosphere was great and very clean. They took pride and time in giving quality customer service. I highly reccomend eating here.
Go for karaoke! The tacos, what can I say? They were incredible. Corn tortillas, well cooked meats, low key awesome chips and salsa? All made for a great time that was only topped off with karaoke. I got the shrimp, 2 carnitas, and the chicken and everything was well seasoned, well portioned, and delicious. I honestly can say you won’t go wrong with choosing any of the tacos on the menu. However, that shrimp taco was legit.
Had a group of 8 out back on the patio for lunch on Friday the 22nd and our server was not happy about how the owner ran things (he is a very nice gentleman ) and aired her “dirty laundry” in front of customers. Otherwise the food and service was good.
Tostados Grill is known locally for its evening karaoke sessions, but I have to admit the food was pretty good, too! My son and I recently joined some friends for dinner and karaoke and had a great time. They even have a kids' menu. For dinner, I went with my typical Mexican restaurant dinner choice: chicken chimichanga ($13.99) with cheese sauce, rice, and beans. The portion size was huge and the chimichanga was perfectly fried. I'm glad the cheese sauce was served on the side, as there was a ton of it! I only used half of the bowl on the chimichanga, though mixing some into the otherwise plain rice gave it some flavor. I'm not sure I would head to Tostados just for the food, but if you are going for evening entertainment, definitely stop by early for some food beforehand.
I had already been checked out for my drinks and the server tried charging me much more. She even added an extra shot for herself to take whenever we ordered one. I bought one round of shots, I was charged for one round of shots and before I left I was confronted by the staff saying I owe $50 for the shots I took. I clearly already paid for them per the merchant slip they had on the bar that was previously left by me. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED BY THE BARTENDERS WHEN YOU’VE BEEN DRINKING FOR A FEW HOURS
My boyfriend and I went here tonight with 4 other couples. A group of 10. We submitted songs to sing immediately. We waited over 2 and a half hours. Our waiter was awesome and tried to get us in. Instead we watched the same singers go over and over. Actually we watched the same woman sing 4 songs in the time we were there. They didn’t care. The dj running the karaoke didn’t put people in an order, he just played favorites with the people he knew. I spent $160 on ordering drinks and shots for my group, only to be disappointed by the karaoke. I will encourage everyone I know not to come here now. What an absolute disappointment.
The karaoke DJ picks and chooses who he wants to sing. On a Friday I sang one song, and then the next day on Saturday they say they don’t have the song. To test this theory, I put my name in for 6 different songs to test it, and after 2 hours; my name was never called. I went to the DJ to ask about this and he became very argumentative and disrespectful and told me that I couldn’t participate here any longer once I questioned the fact that I put in 6 different songs, and none of them were in the list that was on the table. Great bar, but if you want karaoke; steer far unless you’re a hot female that is under the age of 25 so the creepy DJ can creep on you.
Went out for a friends birthday last night and will never go back. The one bartender was so drunk out of her mind she could not talk or walk straight. She told me a Carbless (a drink in a can similar to white claw) was $9 if it was cash. I said I had cash then realized she gave me the wrong change earlier in the night, so I had to pay card card she said it’d be more, I was like okay that’s fine she asked for my last name and I told her I did not have a tab, she then asked for it again so I gave it to her— not sure why she needed it. Then she proceeds to charge me nearly $16 for the drink on card. I also brought a $20 bill in and asked for $13 back and for them to keep $7 so I could tip them 20%.. when I went to pay cash for the Carbless I realized she only gave me $7 back and kept $13. I found it pointless to argue with someone so sloppy and out of their mind drunk. I work in the industry and have never seen anything like this. Terrible service and the employees are thieves. Your money is better spent elsewhere.
This place would be great if it weren’t for their shady practices. I went to a Christmas party there last night with my mom and her coworkers and two people had their credit card info stolen after cashing out. We called to let the restaurant know so that they or their employees don’t get stolen from and they just kept telling me that their servers wouldn’t do that when I never brought that up I told them I wanted to give them a heads up. Then after that call I received a call from another employee with no introduction just “did you order a taco and rice” while I was in Toledo. I said no and hung up because I had no clue who it was and thought it was a prank or a scam then the employee called back at a different number, I can only assume her cellphone, and accused me of stealing because someone had left my number for an order and then the man picked it up and pulled off. I don’t know how my number was used but after all this I think it’s safe to say we will never be back.
