I've visited this location many times and i can't remember a time I've received a wrong order or anything I've had to return. For those of you not familiar with Sonic, the tater tots are great and the chicken sandwiches are all very good. The drink selection is excellent, with many mix-in options. I have a very unusual schedule, so for me the fact that they serve breakfast all day is what pushes them from a 4 ⭐ to a 5 ⭐.

Deleted my old basic review because this needs to be said. Had a freakin awesome experience. Friday night drive thru. Drove up like any other night. Greeted with super friendly voice. Patient. And helpful. We put order in. And drove up and cordial greeting continued. All questions were reciprocated with polite answers. But not in an overwhelming fake way. Felt valued from arrival to departure. I wanna say his name was Michael?? Either way. Dude was awesome. Definitely above and beyond. Expected the usual drive thru. And ended up leaving on a more positive note than arrival. Pretty damn cool. Wish I could say more. Food was good as usual. Friday night September 4th guy running drive thru (maybe Michael.) Thanks.

Everything was made to order. Fresh and hot. Timing was spot on. No issues.

Is this a 5 star restaurant, no! But it is a gem in our little community at the lake. The staff is always friendly friendly and it's a great place to watch sports. They have an outdoor area for children to play and picnic style tables there as well. They have good food and great drinks!

I literally go by there daily for a Route 44 drink to take me thru my long day. The traffic, trucks, train make it hard for staff. They're all a good group. I've never met a rude person there.

It's Sonic food. Hot , fresh and crisp. Lg tater tots chili cheese. But the young lady was so polite and professional. Even at 8:30 p.m She even rang us up as drive- thru. Mistake. But her apologies and smile were sincere. Good Job.

I really enjoyed everything about this sonic. The friendly employee with a good sense of humor, the burger was beyond awesome, and service was fast! Will definitely eat here again when I'm passing through.

It was after 8:30pm Wednesday. I only ordered a malt, it seem to take a little longer than you would think, considering they weren't busy. But they were polite & friendly.

Food was made well and order was correct. Service was also friendly, my only complaint, as with nearly every sonic I've been to, is they are very stingy with the ketchup. They gave me my burger and fries with no ketchup in the bag at all, and when I asked for some they only brought out two packets, that's what gives it 4 instead of 5 stars in my opinion.

Food is good but I got a Fritos pie and it almost didn't have any chili on it. It was almost all Fritos and nothing else, I was so disappointed. For the Cinnabon dessert, the only way you can order it on the app is as a combo, I wanted the 5 piece, I couldn't order it that way.

Service was fast , glad they're were people who wanted to work. They just need to learn how to watch the mixers for the Limeade and the supplies for carbonated drinks. Keep up the good work!!

Service was quick. The chicken sandwich was overcooked and hard to eat. My ph call later to store was pleasant and they were apologetic, offering to remake sandwich (we don’t live close) so we took the credit on card. This was an unusual experience, so we will go back (Alvarado store)!

Good team working here. I drop by occasionally because I love their tots. Today I tried the cheese sticks for the first time. Not bad at all. For a busy road it isn't difficult to get in or out of. Employees are nice and service is quick.

Overall good. We were there after 8:00 PM, so we were able to get half price shakes. One daughter had the chocolate Oreo shake. The other daughter, who hates chocolate, was able to get a vanilla shake and add Nerds. Both really enjoyed the desserts. The outdoor call box was out of service, but a car hop came out to take the order. One of our daughters' burger came out with mustard. We requested only ketchup. They quickly brought out a replacement.

This location is fairly quick. The employees are nice. It must be an older location because it's a bit rundown. There are spots that aren't working, and everything is very sun faded. Could use some TLC.

Not bad. They've improved a lot. I forgot to tell them to put mustard on my burger, so mayo is the default I guess. Wouldn't be so bad if they didn't put enough mayo for 10 burgers. 😬

Every time I visit the person that brings my food has to go back inside to get my change after I pay. Even though, as a car hop, they should already have the change on their person. I used to be a car hop for Sonic and one of the rules were to have a $20 bill broken down and available to use for change. The only reason any of the car hops wouldn't have this available is so they would get a tip. The guest would say, "keep the change." instead of waiting for it. It's very unprofessional and tacky in my honest opinion.

Just about everytime I go there, the burgers are slapped together carelessly and the meat has been real pink. The tator tots were cold and soggy

It was nice and clean. Very friendly server. A few hiccups such as our drinks not being out with our food and a missing straw, but other than those things 'twas a great experience!

Alvarado, TX Sonic. Hardworking young men and women. Always cheerful- BUT it's as though the owner is watching, drinking a bottled water while his business burns down. Recent changes in management are showing. Shortages on products and food. No straws, no toast, broken grill, shortage of staff, ECT. Employees are great. Very nice and try very hard giving great service. Hey Owner, for every one customer lost it will take 3-4 weeks to recoup that one customer. Do something fast or your business sunk.

I go in the mornings before work during the summer since there's a lot less traffic. The drinks are always good but it usually takes a long time to get it. They always seem to serve the drive through before the stalls no matter the order in which the cars arrive. I don't understand why they don't put up a sign to try to get people who order food or multiple items to go to the stalls rather than the drive through since those orders take a lot longer. Or, I guess I don't understand the people who are inconsiderate and do this to hold up the line.

Pretty disappointing. Husband's burger was cold, despite tipping when we received our order the server practically threw the food through the window and took off. Husband asked if there was ketchup in the bag she said no but she would bring some...yeah we never saw her again! If we are ever that way again we will choose a different spot for lunch.

People were nice, but didn't actually blend the shake I ordered. Basically paid for ice cream with some stuff sitting on top for a higher price.

I really like sonic. Unfortunately this location is not very good at making breakfast. I received a number 14 with cold eggs, overdone meat and all in all it was just really dry. I am pretty bummed due to the fact that I get this a lot. I just wanted to warn anyone that goes there To maybe pick something other than number 14. I have gone there in the past for lunch and it wasn’t bad at all. So I defiantly didn’t want to give them terrible stars, but did want to let people know breakfast may not be a place for them. The service is also really really slow. And that has always been the case when going through this town. I waited a long time this morning as well.

Breakfast is always fresh, but anything else usually isn't, and they don't know how to make drinks like all the rest of the locations. You're better off sticking to the shakes. That being said. There are no issues in the morning, and the staff is way better.

Went for lunch today. Order 2 number 7. Of course when we get the food they put the chili cheese tots on top of my coney and smashed cheese to top of wrapper so when u get ready to eat coney there is hardly no cheese. Tots were cold. Waitress annaly was very sweet. Wasn't too happy with the food

The chickens was over cooked and as hard as a rock, and the Chilli cheese fries was all mushy & cold, very disappointed but, the nicest waiter gave me the food.

Not great; one can't get water to drink unless they have their own cups; the restroom was closed for a very long time, we couldn't use it even if we had a toddler with us... We had to go to the next door pizza place to use their restroom...! The food was sort of OK.

Slow service & awful customer service. All I had was 2 small slushies & 1 fountain drink, I sat there for 15min & had to remind them I still hadn't been served. No offer of a free drink or even a sorry. Plus all 3 drinks were already watered down by the time we got them!

They're always out of something every time we go. You name it, hotdog buns, hotdogs, onion rings, napkins, or food trays, they're out. A lot of young employees, and quite frequently a lot of goofing off going on. Food is decent.

They were short handed, large amount of customers. Took 45 minutes to get food and it was cold when we got it. My wife's gravey wasn't even done. Still had clumps of powder in it. This is the worst Sonic I've ever been to.

This is the third time in two days that i have ordered a tea and asked for sweet n low. They have forgotten it every time. It also takes noticeably longer than other sonics.

They never get my order right, and it's something as simple as no mustard. Even when they don't seem very busy, I've yet to have them get it right. Other than that, the food tastes fine. The customer service is at the bare minimum needed.

I am here for a job and went here for 1st and probably the last time. The only thing they got right on my order was the drink and the tots. The best thing about the place was looking at the wo.en in the spidie suite.

The person that took my order could not get it right. I ordered a #1 hamburger,no cheese no mustard or ketchup. Add mayo. I repeated my oder 4 times. I was not rude but keep correcting him. Pulled up and paid I was polite and he was the same with a big smile. When I got home I had jar of mayo on my burger. This was so not nice but at least I could wipe it off. Took 3 napkins. The man handling the window needs to do something about his teeth. They were very dirty and upkeep. Msybe you could help him with a cleaning. It's not pleasant to look at. Not sure when I will be back.

Usually don’t have a problem but my boyfriend went to get me a SUPERSONIC breakfast burrito and when he got home I noticed liquid cheese everywhere. I thought that was strange but thought it just got too melted. Bit into it and was so nauseated by the flavor of this cheese. Turns out I was given an ULTIMATE meat and cheese burrito (after looking online at the menu it matched the description). Definitely was NOT a supersonic. It would have been fine but the cheese sauce is so nauseating you can’t even eat it. My cherry limeade is also not very flavorful today. Off days happen but make sure people know the difference between burritos at the very least. Difference of a happy customer and a nauseated customer.

We've been coming here for years. Always love the food, but it seems management is not paying attention to the details of running a restaurant. My wife tried to order their fish sandwich for months and on each visit she was told "we are out of fish" or "we are cleaning the deep fryer" or some other excuse. They finally took it off the menu. I suspect the employees just didn't want to mess with it. Last visit I ordered a couple Toaster Sandwiches and they told me they were out of Texas Toast! I complained on their site and was told, "We'll look into it, and get back with you." That was months ago. There is another Sonic a few miles up the road in Venus, so I'll be taking my business there at least until Alvarado store can get it together.

I don't eat at sonic very often, but something has changed there. Many of the digital menus in the parking area were not functional. Ordering was so hard both I and the order taker kept saying "what?" After waiting a while and no food showing up I asked a worker walking by how I was supposed to pay and she said that when they bring the food out I would pay at that time. I waited for another 10 minutes and still nothing so I went to the door where there were a number of employees just hanging out. I asked them what the status of my order was and they said that it was rang up as a drive-through order. I asked if there had been changes made and that's how ordering works now, and they said "no it was our bad." I probably will never be back.

Ordered two burritos and only got one. Not busy at all for them to mess up my order. Lady was very rude and the temperature of the food was not very warm.

Either stall 3 speakers don’t work or something because ordering food should not take literally 6 minutes, we’d say what we want, the lady would take roughly a minute and a half to respond, she was overall nice. Just frustrating when an item we ordered isn’t available yet there’s a poster for it on the glass door.

What a disappointmemt!!! We paid for a Veteran's meal parked right beside us. Wanted to do something nice. The waitress came out with his food and took $10 from him to pay again!!! We had to call someone back out to have them return the money to him. So disappointed in the ataff saw them inside laughing until we called them out. They also messed our order.

Overcooked chicken, under cooked tots, gravy, coney dog. Worst food ever! Drinks full of ice so not much of a drink either! Won't have my business again!

Lived in Alvarado 19 years and have often visited Sonic. All the years my dog, Ruth and I have visited, today was the very first time I DID NOT have to pay for a Pup Cup. I always order a “small chocolate shake a small cup of ice cream with no whip cream FOR MY DOG,” which I am always charged for. Today, Ashlyn was working the drive thru. Very, very polite lady with superb customer service qualities. She represented Sonic with her professionalism. She informed me Sonic absolutely has Pup Cups, and I WAS NOT charged. Is it because I didn’t use those two little words Ruth loves to hear - Pup Cup? In today’s society, often fast food restaurants get a bad rap. The first person always sets the mood, thanks Ashlyn. UPDATE on June 10th: Went back to Sonic for a pup cup and a hamburger. I didn’t get a chocolate milkshake. My dog, Ruth, took a lick but that was it. One and one-half hours later, the stuff in the cup had not even melted. IT WAS WHIP CREAM! GOODBYE Ashlynn and Sonic! HELLO DQ Stop Sign of Texas!

Horrible! We always stop at Sonic due to my special needs grandson. He loves grilled cheese sandwiches. Anyway, so we stop on our way back home. This girl working on taking our order could not get it right. We went through the order 5 times. She kept saying she couldn't hear us. Here's a thought, grab a pen and come out and get order! The burger had cold cheese. It was added as an afterthought and was still cold. No marinara sauce for the cheese sticks, no ranch for the poppers, sprites were flat. Pink haired carhop didn't offer change back, just kept it. This place and the carhop are terrible. When we told her, she's just like ok. She couldn't care less. Sucked!

This is the only time I've given a sonic a one star and it's not even the company I'm mad upset with. I went in for happy hour for 2 medium cherry dr peppers with extra cherry juice and 2 real cherry's and the price came out to $2.90. So I got 3 one dollar bills out and waited about 5 minutes. The guy finally came out with the drinks, looked at me and said, "we have the right to refuse service" and left. I don't know what the heck happened, but I did get the drinks at a different Sonic

The service sucks at this location. Takes way to long just to get drinks. We have been here numerous times and they were out of onion rings OMG! THIS IS SONIC, OF THE ONE THING YOU EXPECT TO BE ABLE TO ORDER WOULD BE THE MAIN ITEM ON THE MENU THE FRANCHISE IS KNOWN FOR! .... and by the way... saying sorry for the wait didn't make it better especially when it happens every time we visit!

Service was very unprofessional. Ordered 2 shakes waded over 13 minutes so I called in there just to see how long it will be the girl repeated my order I said yes 3 times then she rudly said its on its way. When she brought it to my car she fail to give us a straw then I asked her for one it aggravated her. After she brought it back o was going to give her a tip but couldn't even say thank you or have nice day. VERY RUDE SERVICE

The hamburger meat was cold and the cheese wasn't melted, it was also cold. The vegetables are fresh, very good. Hopefully next time they will warm up the frozen meat, till it's hot so it will melt the cheese.

This is the last time I come to this sonic. I live 3 miles away and come frequently. My food is always late. Never fresh and always cold. Today I ordered buffalo wings. The person next to me pulled up 5 mins after I ordered and got 2 brown bag specials and 3 sides. Their order came out before mine. So I called in to ask what was taking so long. They replied with “we were waiting on your wings.” Okay. No problem. I like fresh wings. I receive my food, it’s all cold, the fries are hard, and my drink is watered down. I’m done! I will drive all the way to 917 or Burleson before I come here again.

Pulled in at 10:15 pm and still at 11pm I do not have my food. They're reasoning behind it is they needed to satisfy the drive thru prior to even preparing my order!! Oh and even after that 2 other cars that pulled in after me got their food before me. Worst damn sonic!! I could have gone all the way to Burleson sonic and been back home.

We always try to avoid the Alvarado Sonic when we can. The people are normally friendly but it's horribly slow, even when they hardly have anyone else there. They also always seem to mess up our order or forget something that we ordered. The drinks are terrible and if you ever order extra anything for it, they'll charge you but never put it in. I would highly recommend the Venus Sonic. The service, food and drinks are absolutely fantastic and we've never had a bad experience.

Black burnt chilli on my footlong Coney Dog. Tater tots we're way over cooked and cold. After driving around and speaking with the manager at the drive-thru I just got a smile and a okay. Not a offer to remake it for me. It was his fault for not watching the product and people that he is sending out I paid $8 dollars for dog food. And I would not trust them to make me new food to be spit in. The CarHop was pleasant that's why she got a tip. You don't send burnt chili out to a customer and you don't send tater tots that have been sitting under the heater for several hours. And these are the people that want $15 an hour? Disgusting!

I've now changed my review to a one star. They stopped taking orders on the Sonic app?!! What? Obviously this is a franchise and the owner and GM are incompetent. They are always out of stuff, they cannot keep quality staff. Do yourself a favor and run to the Keene or Burleson Sonic.

For a couple years now they've had an entire row of broken ordering boxes in the front that they don't fix. Keep thinking they'll fix em, they never do. If they can't be bothered to make ordering a pleasant experience, kind of doubt they do proper cleaning inside either.

Ordered 2 drinks. Mini strawberry shake and small ocean water. 20 minutes later. I pushed the button only to find out that they had NOT begun our order and they were NOT busy at all!! Shame!!! I love Sonic ocean water! Will have to get one somewhere else. Not in Alvarado!!

Terrible service, ordered online, got there, put in my stall number in the app, says it’s in the kitchen, then on the way.. sit in the stall for 20 minutes… go into the drive thru after no one would answer the call button for 5 minute.. left me at the window … the. Handed my my cold food that had been sitting on the counter.. argued with me in the drive thru and they said.. we can go to the Venus location.. this sonic blows and has disrespectful employees. My refund will now take 3-5 days.. said I had to take a picture of the receipt because they had to keep it.. Efff this place

If you get told by the app they aren't accepting online orders they won't honor half price drinks even if they themselves are the ones that turned off the online ordering.

Very unprofessional all the people do is listen to music thru ther AirPods and mess peoples orders up and then when the people call and ask for it to be made right they get mad and say it's not their problem this girl messed up my order and all she was doing is playing on her phone and listening to music .... very unprofessional

This sonic used to be good but sucks now, I waited 5 minutes for them to answer the call button, once I started to leave they must have seen and answered but I’m not about to waste my entire break sitting and waiting on them to answer and then waiting on them to make my food. Get your acts together. If I could 0 star I would.

Ordered two different burger meals. The fries were shitty and our burgers were not warm or hot. They remade them and it still tasted like it had been sitting awhile. We didn't have the time to just sit there and have them remake them over and over just to get the same result. Paying $24, I should be able to enjoy my food. Very disappointed.

Spent $11 on a meal and open up my burger and there is no burger patty. Called the store and never got an answer. Left a message and never got a call back. Don't waste your time and MONEY here! I would have went back to have them correct it but don't live in the same town and it was late.

The worst Sonic I've ever been to! Don't go!! Slow service we ordered 4 meals, 2 kids meals and 2 burger meals and not 1, not 2 but 4 cold burgers! Turn around to let them know, waited another 15 minutes to only get another 4 cold burgers. The manager Jasmine couldn't care less! She said I watched them make it and I said well, they must of took them out of the freezer because the bun was so cold! She had the worst attitude and said bring it back. I said I'm already driving and that I wanted a refund but they didn't give me back my receipt! Then had the audacity to hang up on me in my face! Then would not pick the phone back up to answer x4! Stopped by to pick up 4 meal combos for my elderly Aunt and Uncle. Couldn’t hear anything from the speaker even yelling both ways was difficult to place order. Got our meals and these hamburgers were cold and soggy. Worst ever-straight to the trash. Should have gone next door to DQ instead. Wasted $40 wont be back!

I should've known better for going right before they close because obviously doing your job is out of the question because ( yay it's time to leave ) right.....over half my fries were super hard and brown and just almost completely cold. I mean , I drive a PT cruiser so I'm definitely not making people feel some type of way. This is just pure hate for others.
