Buckles Lounge

Buckles is awesome the people here really make you feel at home especially on thanksgiving. I walked in and it seemed like everyone in the bar yelled welcome to buckles. They normally don’t have food here but on thanksgiving they have a huge feast available for everyone. I’ll always find a way to stop at buckles when I’m passing through.

Buckles Lounge is under new ownership. I was never there before. You would never know how cool this place is by looking at the outside. There are a wide variety of people that come here from locals to bikers to truckers from way out of town. The pool tables are standard coin-op bar tables but the sticks are in good condition and they have hand chalk. There is a dance floor and they are talking about having live music soon. You can have food Ubered in. They have Karaoke on Friday nights. Bartenders are friendly and the owner is down to earth and approachable. The atmosphere is great: nice and dark, with all sorts of stuff on the walls to check out. It is nicely air conditioned with a great sound system. When you step into this bar you are in a vastly different world than the one you left in the parking lot. It feels like the new crew are going to be doing some interesting things with this place.

Kat, after defeating me 2 out of 3 times in arm wrestling, then rock paper scissors, (she goes rock every time), out of pity she played me a song called careless whisper, encouraging me not to cry, that she was proud of me for trying in front of a dozen handsome truck drivers, and that one day I could man enough to beat her in arm wrestling. BEST BARTENDER EVER!!

Had a great time here while visiting Amarillo! Met some good people, a local guy was selling flowers and we bought some then he did a couple magic tricks for us! Very neat experience, cool and classic American bar! I’d be a regular here if I lived in Amarillo! They have frosted mugs for beer, draft and tons of choices! There is a pool table and June box also!

Not enough bartenders for speedy service but once you get waited on its pleasant. GREAT atmosphere. Little dive bat with a perfect mix of locals and passin through folks! Go on karaoke night.....the DJ is awesome and she does a great job!!

One of the best dive bars I have ever been to. The beers of mixed drinks are extremely cheap. It’s got a pool table great staff the bartender she was amazing they have some really good wings great environment I come here every time I’m rolling through Amarillo

As a trucker, I have been coming through here for decades, and if I didn't have to leave out early in the morning, would stop in here for a beer or two. Usually, there would be the bartenders and waitresses, a married local woman or two looking for a one-nighter, a dozen or more lonely drivers trying to compete for the attention of the women, and a local alcoholic or two, trying to make friends with people that buy drinks. The typical bar next to a truck stop. To me, it was mainly a place to have a cold beer and chat with other truckers. It had been years since I'd been through here, but last night, I found myself on a layover here, so I slipped in for a cold one. It wasn't anything at all like it used to be. I had a really good time! Definitely changed my mind about this place!

Prices were cheap and the whiskey was weak just the way you'd expect. I'll keep coming back for a taste of the local side of life in Amarillo.

This place really jumps. Folks, and staff are real sociable. Friday nite karaoke is my favorite time. They even had a wedding ceremony there on Sunday, and I was invited🤠. The owner didn't renew the lease of the folks running the place. They were doing good business. Business has dropped off, and l have stopped going there.
