My gizzards were awesome. The lady at the window was awesome. The guy in the back cooking was awesome. It was one of those once in a lifetime experiences where it all went right.
I went to 8 different restaurants looking for chicken livers and chicken express had they were just made for my order I had a short waiting time but they were hot and freshest tasting livers im going to spend more time order food from there.and great experience and great employee's number one chicken places in town
I have always liked Chicken Express but since this location opened it has become my favorite. It’s clean inside although COVID has closed the ability to dine in. They have always been very fast through the drive thru & recommend you try this location also. Thank you for bringing this location to this part of Amarillo.
Best fast catfish! Tartar sauce is to die for and when the fries are hot it sets the seats on fire with how good they are. The hidden jem though are their rolls. I could eat them for days!
I have to give them 5 stars. There was a bit of a wait (10 mins or so) because they were extremely busy. The person working the drive thru was very friendly and apologized for the wait. The chicken tenders were fresh and hot as were the mashed potatoes and gravy. But if there was a 6th star, I would give it just for the steaming hot roll that was likely the best roll I’ve ever had. I’ve never had bad service or a horrible meal from any Chicken Express, but the South Bell store beats out all the others for quality food and a staff that obviously takes pride in what they are handing out the window. Great job and thanks to everyone working Saturday, 08/01/2020 at about 4 pm.
Best chicken tenders and best fried chicken. Great cream gravy and many other sides. Biscuits and rolls are terrific. Love their sweet tea. Service is very courteous and helpful. Mashed potatoes are also very good. Can't lose. Enjoy!
Went for lunch and everything was hot and fresh, tasted great. The ladies working the front were very friendly and pretty much treated it like it was a restaurant, not a fast food place. They came to our table and checked on us. Great quick lunch experience.
We stopped and grabbed something to take home for dinner! I usually always get their Catfish Fillets and I’ve never been disappointed! I got the fried okra and hush puppies which are always fresh and hot! The batter on the Catfish is so well seasoned, their okra is always amazing and the hush puppies are so tender and tasty! My friend got the Chicken Tenders with okra, and their tenders are always so fresh, hot and extremely moist and tender! They have the best sweet tea of just about anywhere I know!!
I ordered the 25 piece family meal with mashed potatoes and french fries. Food was deliciously amazing as always! Customer service was top notch; polite and quick. I was told when I ordered I would have to wait about 10 minutes for chicken since they had just put a batch in. Between waiting in line to get to the window to pay and waiting on my food, it actually did not feel like I was waiting long. When I finally made it home, the food was still hot. We absolutely love this place!
Best chicken gizzards around. Fried fresh each order and always crispy. The chicken tenders are cooked to perfection. Love eating here. So far all staff are friendly and efficient even during busiest of times.
I ordered ahead and my order was ready when I got there. My only issue is a few pieces of my chicken was old you could tell by the rubbery texture and color. Other wise everyone was pleasant and smiling the bathrooms are so clean

We love to go to Chicken Express bc they have catfish dinners plus a family size order of fried okra! Hard to find catfish that’s really good, but this place has them and they’re a generous size portion! Sometimes the person working the drive through can be a bit snippy, but it’s still a great place to eat!

It started off as a not so well event. Then my issues were addressed promptly by management and staff. They went above and beyond to satisfy my concerns and remade my entire order and then some. Thank you all for making it right.
Much nicer location! Food was good like before but this location was more updated and comfortable. Chicken and fries were fresh and hot. I love the rolls and hush puppies and those hot dinner rolls are dangerous! Great job folks!

The food was good. However, went through the drive thru. Had to wait awhile. Got to our destination and discovered the order was wrong and there was no plasticware or napkins. Tried to call but couldn’t get anyone to answer. This store is usually much better than this.
Their food is always good, but every time my family goes there and orders more than one meal, they mess something up. Whether we are missing a couple sides or getting a completely different meal, we never get the right thing.
A couple pieces of my chicken tenders were cold. That catfish filet was dry and unflavorful.
Spacious & love the decor. Would have given it a five star but the the employee with an accent could be a little politer and remember the customer is somewhat right most of the time, but if not don't rudely correct the customer or rudely point out that they were wrong, just give (if possible) the customer what want.
Good food but they just shorted me on what I ordered. No one answered the phone when I called. So if you eat here make sure you get what paid for!
Great place and people, however I do not understand is 7 piece comes with one gravy or dipping sauce and the 3-4 piece comes with exact same size dipping sauce gravy and I pay extra for a larger meal and have to use same gravy and lessor meal. Then I asked for extra gravy and they charge me for it. Go to Slim Chicken large meal gets u 2 dipping sauces.
Drive in was very slow. They did have a sign up saying they were short on staff. I sat at the drive up window for literally 10 + minutes before it opened. They did have my order ready. The kids seemed happy with the food
I always enjoy the food at chicken express when they actually have any! I have left more times than I have stayed because I don’t want to wait for a minimum of 30 minutes to get my food that even has the word express in the name!! There have been times I have come here and they told me they were completely out of chicken. The food it self is amazing and I a LOVE the sweet tea! I do hope they are able to keep up with demand better in the future.
went at noon and went through the drive through. the wait time was decent. not sure what was burned, but that taste was either in the chicken or the gravy....maybe both? normally the food is decent. the chicken was dry. customer service was fair. the person at the window forgot to give me my change. all minor things but it adds up to hurt the over all experience.

Waited 30 minutes for a fish meal 2 pc meal and the one piece was inedible because it was over cooked Other people who ordered fish after my family got their order first and when we asked about it we were told they were backed up with fish orders. The employees were more worried about playing with their buddies instead of taking care of customers.
This used to be my favorite chicken express to go to until today, I got a completely different order than what I had ordered (somehow got catfish when we ordered chicken) never got my ranch I paid for and to make it even better my food was cold when I got home 5 minutes later so I got to pop it in the air fryer before sitting down to enjoy it😃 I should’ve gone back but honestly was just too tired from work and ready to sleep, probably won’t be going back to this location
I have been to this restaurant to order to-go food, five times in the past year. Each of those times they forget something in the order, make the order wrong and or some of the food is old.
We have always liked Chicken E but not sure what happened this last visit (South Bell next to Sonic). Ordered two thighs and a leg, got 3 scrawny legs (didn't know this till I got home). What I did get was very, very bland and greasy. Only got a few fries and they were soggy. Quite disappointed.
Had to wait almost 30 minutes to get my food in the drive through. Great food but the people working there are so slow!
Fried pickles were great, there was a sketchy looking employee with a beanie and a scraggly beard that looked a little bit suspicious, I think he may have gotten a bit carried away. Gave me the heebie jeebies.
Since this place has been open, each attempt at getting Chicken Express here has been ridiculous. The lobby isn't even open and the pace everyone is moving at is slower than Zootopias DMV Sloths pace. Waiting in line for 10+minutes just to get to the ordering menu is ridiculous. Then, another 10 to get to the window to pay. I still love Chicken Express though.
The chicken is good. But it never fails that I’m missing a side when I go through the drive through here. And someone rear ended me in your parking lot. Great stuff.
Went to drive through today at 6:45pm ish....it was busy so didn't pick up food til 7:22...no problem there...but I did not receive my full order. An order of fries and cheesesticks as sides for a dinner were absent...I was looking forward to those
Ordered the 4 chicken tender meal and they forgot to put gravy in with it, when I called to complain, she said all they can do is give me free gravy on my next visit. I didn't even know they charged for gravy. I'm stuck at work so wasn't able to go pick up gravy. The tenders are dry and bland, I will not be ordering again.
Visited during Covid-19 in June- we waited about 20 minutes in line and after ordering (4 regular sized common items) the employee at the line had us pull forward and we waited an additional 10 minutes. Double checking our food I realized half was missing so we parked and I went inside. There were 5 other people in line who had missing/incorrect items as well. The employee at the counter was obviously having a bad day and even told a customer in line he "might as well come back in an hour because I'm the only one working that piece (of equipment)". Customer was visibly upset and left without another word after paying $130ish and then it was my turn, employee rolled his eyes when I mentioned what was missing and threw his notepad against the short metal table that's right behind him.... All in all the food was good but the employees need to work on communication between each other and with customers. I'll probably go back in July ONLY because I love their food and this one is way closer.
The dude running the drive-through window was horrible. But my order was right. So 2 stars just for a correct order, with very un friendly staff.
Nice cashier. Long wait for food. Ordered catfish, took 20 mins bc .mine were given to drive thru , while my husbands got cold waiting for more to be cooked. Pathetic management who was the one who caused the whole mess. Overall, food was good.
Extremely slow service. I ordered chicken liver. Chicken liver at the other locations always comes with biscuit or roll. I get home and find hush puppies in my box. After waiting a long time and it's not right makes you feel sick. This location is closer but not worth my time. I will go to the other places. This is the second time I have been to this one and twice that I had to wait a very long time.
Went there for the first time at that location at about 8:00 p.m they were busy had 4 cars in front of me and it took 40 min to get my food in the drive thru. I ordered two pieces of fish and a 3piece chicken combo unbelievable the chicken was not fresh then they gave me two wings in the 3piece and a thigh not worth the price,if they were out of chicken or did not want to make more they should have told me that's all they had,I could have ordered something else,on top of that my fried pickles were old just really disappointed, should have gotten out of line and just went to popeyes. I will say I never had that experience at Grand and I-40 or Coulter and I-40. I've had two bad experiences at Gem lake location similar situation except I was dining in and will never go back to that location. One thing that was concerning is they had 2 people not wearing mask the woman helping make the food and young teenager making drinks and then the guy boxing chicken just had his mouth covered. Hope management takes care of that last time I checked employee's in restaurant's are required to where mask. I know things happen sometime, so I will give them another try to see if it's a better experience. First experience during Covid-19 not good though
I planned my order online. I didn't receive my jalapeno poppers but they managed to put the sauce in the bag. Also requested plastic ware because I had to eat in my car. Nothing... It can't be THAT HARD to make sure the entire order is in the bag before giving it to the customer, can it? It's really gross to eat mashed potatoes and gravy in a car with your fingers.
When we order dinner meals they never give us the 2nd side. Everyone involved in the process, from ordering to handing out the food, didn't look like they wanted to be there. If you want the exact same food but better service, go to golden chick on coulter.

I ordered a 3 piece dinner, all thighs and legs. I got 1 leg out of it. I dont eat chicken breasts as they are extremely dry. I don't like the feeling of being ripped off when you order take out, get home and it's all not there! Tried to use email through their website to communicate and send photo but it wasn't working. I don't understand how you can not get the order correct. Sure would like to have an easier way to get reimbursed or simply get the rest of the order and not have to run back across town or email.

Took to long and gravy is water. Will not go back. Will go to canes. Chicken fingers were small all 4. Green beans was a 1/2 a serving. Absolutely 💯 will not go back.
We recently visited the location on bell street in Amarillo Texas and has the worst experience. We sat in the drive thru line for at least 20 minutes. I watched from the window as the workers goofed around, drinking their drinks, and showing eachother something on their phones while there was a line of cars. I will never go back to this location ever again.
Worst wait time ever—-asked us to wait 15 minutes for order turned into 45— if we had not already paid we would have just left!!! Never coming back will go to competition until the end of time

The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service.! Placed a to-go order, WAITED the twenty minutes I was told the order would take plus ANOTHER twenty just to call the store back and get told “we ran out of fish and it will take an hour to thaw, I tried looking for your number... blah blah blah”. It’s COVID season, we are ALREADY restricted to our homes and cars which in return we can’t order our food correctly and on top of ALLLL that, I can’t get off of work(Essential healthcare worker) place an order on the phone and pick it up in the twenty minutes it was promised??!! Or have the audacity to call me back or knock on my window because I’ve been the only car sitting here for the past 40mins and I’ve seen you come out twice!!!!! If I could give you a zero score I would!
I spent over 40 minutes in the drive thru. My order was wrong, hush puppies were raw, and the chicken was all breading with very little chicken.
Don't go there after 630 they won't have any chicken. never fails. never have corn. isn't it your job to make chicken!! Chicken taste like they never change the oil. don't even waste our time anymore at this location on bell!
One of the worst experiences I've had. They need to get some worker that can take orders at the drive up. It took more than 45 minutes after I ordered then got to the window and the young man did not have what I had ordered so another 30 minutes and 6 customs before I got my 2 meals. Instead of Chicken Express they should be Chicken Slow-pokes
Hire a new crew, and replace the old one. They're clearly the reason this location has such bad reviews. People love chicken express, and you're losing business because of poor customer service.
Since they won’t answer the phone at Bell St and no further contact information is available i have went there twice and both times they left something off my order. Once it was a 12 pc liver tonight it was my family okra. i felt in the bag and thought i felt it but nope. i had 3 items on my order and only received 2 after waiting 20 minutes for my food! order number 310 on February 12 2022. 7:12pm as expensive as stuff is now days how can you not double check an order or be so careless as to make sure the customer gets what they order. I may never go back…
Very terrible service. I was in on the evening of 4/5/22 about 9:25-9:30. As soon as i pulled up to the speaker it took about two minutes for them to even acknowledge me. I start to order, the employee interrupted me while i was ordering to say that they had already turned the fish fryers off (thirty minutes early). As i’m trying to order the employee just keeps rudely saying “is that it”. I finally get to the window as i pull up i can hear the employees talking very loud and rudely about me cause i ordered my family food. They give me our food we are some missing food and all drinks, plus the food is cold already when i was making sure everything was right When I asked for sauces before leaving i was told “hol up”. When i got home, the gravy was practically water, the chicken looked like it had been picked apart the drinks were wrong. I am VERY upset with this and would like something to be done about it.
One star is over rated. I ate at the one on Coulter several times. The one on Bell was terrible. Ordered fish. Its over cooked and not edible. Ordered 2 pieces and they just threw it in a box with nasty fries and Okra which I did not order. They gave no condiments as well. Tastes like everything was cooked in same grease. I dont usually complain but worst food ever and a waist of money!
The manager was very nice and apologetic, but the restaurant is severely understaffed. It took 40 minutes to get through the drive through line. They were out of the item we ordered and the replacement was overcooked and inedible.
Very clean place , however By far the most trashiest attitudes at a place I’ve been too since I’ve moved to this area. I do not appreciate the lady with the accent that treated me as though I was stealing my own damned order, that I paid for before even arriving to this establishment. Chicken was as tough as beef jerky and looked undercooked. Drink tasted like bleach. I will never in my life return. Unacceptable & very disgustingly mean and disrespectful.
If I could give less than one star I would. We ordered a family order of rolls and they were not cooked right. Ordered chicken strips and the chicken strips were barely breaded. Ordered corn on the cob and I don’t even know how you mess up corn unless it was just sitting for a long time in some kind of warmer, but the corn was so hard it couldn’t even be eaten off of the cob.Anybody can understand may be getting bad quality food once from a fast food place, but multiple occurrences means that there is something wrong. This is the worst chicken express that I’ve ever been to. Never going here again.
Food was super hot and fresh which was great. Service was fine.. However, it literally had no flavor. It was actually mind boggling how flavorless everything was. The mac n cheese looked so creamy but tasted like water. The mashed potatoes tasted like pepper and water. The chicken...extremely bland despite being fried and super crispy! Kind of a bummer to try out and to be let down.
Absolutely ridiculous how slow the drive through is. This place should just be shut down. Sat in line for over 30 minutes. When I finally got one car away from the window sat for another 10 minutes before I finally just drove off. I watched 5 young men standing around laughing and messing around. One was eating a biscuit while scooping ice into a jug to put into the fountain machine. Drove away. I will not be giving my money to this business until they can make some changes.
First of all we ordered livers and got gizzards! One bite and I knew they weren’t right and they were even cold and a big blob of batter. The pickles were cold and tough. Don’t bother eating here! Although my granddaughter said the chicken strips were ok.
Actually 0.25 stars...Waiting in the drive thru for 10 minutes only to be told when placing my order that catfish would be a 20-25 minute wait, so we ordered a 3 piece chicken dinner as well and were told that they only have wings & thighs at this time. Never mind, there are plenty of places that are ready to serve folks that we can spend our money at.
So I called in an order early for 2 catfish dinners and 3 chk strip dinners to this location. Since I know they make the catfish as ordered. When I go to pick it up 30 minutes after the phone call. Waited in line for another 15 minutes. Then get to the window and paid, the young lady tells me to pull to the side because they have to make it.....Really????? What was the point of calling it in???
Was missing part of order after being told it was all there . Got home home missing part of order .called and was told we could go get it no apology nothing . We were not going to waste gas to drive across town again . Terrible service will not be going back . Would be nice if whomever runs this chain would offer an apology n a coupon so we can go to another location.
Hours showed open, happy that I drove all the way from canyon (we have family here) to get dinner and they're closed. No signs no nothing. This is following my last experience of waiting almost 35 minutes after ordering to get my food. I understand things happen, but enough has happened that I won't be back.
Got here at 9:40 20 minutes before close. 2 employees were standing outside when we pulled into the drive through. Sat for 10 minutes and no one asked for our order, responded and I even pulled around to see if I could trigger the intercom incase I missed the pressure plate. Get a grip.
This location is just so slow and half the time they forget to put the food in the box. I had to go back in to get the food they forgot to give me. I tried calling the phone but it goes unanswered. Shouldn’t take over 20-30 minutes to get through the drive thru. I prefer the Chicken Express in Canyon— fast, fresh and hot.
Fried okra, livers, and bone in chicken were all burnt to the point you could barely eat it. The chicken strips were still a little pink and falling apart. Mashed potatoes were extremely dry. I will never eat here again!!! Horrible experience!! Rude staff, long wait. Paid way too much for what we got....
Smell your drinks before tasting them… took a big sip of my sweet tea and all I tasted was bleach! The drive-thru guy was nice, but no one offered an apology or anything. I was just asked to pick another drink because their whole jug of sweet tea smelled like bleach. At least hopefully I saved anyone else from getting any of that batch!
Today the employee and the supervisor talked down to me after i called them to tell them my order was incorrect and missed items. as I tried to explain myself both employee and supervisor went from calm to irate! I asked for the corporate office phone number and the supervisor refused to give to. But, thanks to google, I found it and was able to file a compliant... seems like they can use customer services training! I paid for services rendered I just wanted my missed correct order AND missed items!!
The food was good when it first opened. My last 2 visits were not good at all. Long wait. Chicken strips were over cooked to the point of being inedible. The okra tasted old and greasy. The roll was doughy. I won’t bother eating there again.
My husband sat IN THE STORE for 45 mins waiting for an order with no communication for staff only to find out they lost the order. He is deaf so I called up to talk to the manager, and after the phone rang for 10 mins, I was told “they are short staffed and busy”. I asked for a refund and was told she needed the receipt, which they had already taken from him. He was eventually given an INCORRECT order and left. They told me he would have to return with the order if we wanted a refund and then hung up on me. When he left, he saw the manager behind the building smoking. We will never return.

Okra was very stale with old grease, hoping it doesn't make me sick. Mash potatoes were cold even getting home 5 minutes later. Definitely won't be returning to this location. They need a surprise health inspection for sure.
Food was cold and they got my order wrong. I talked to the manager Fukira ahead said they would fix my order as long as I had my receipt. I took my receipt up there the following day and got told that the best she could do was give me the 3 chicken strips the shorted me the previous day...even after I told her that all the chicken was cold before expecting her to replace my order...she said all she could do was give me the 3 strips....complete waste of my time...I told her she could keep it because obviously they are in desperate need to maintain inventory and profit margins...I will not return and hope they meet there quota of production...
Service is terrible. In fact, it's non-existent. Be prepared to wait for 30 to 40 minutes for "fast" food. Which is unfortunate, because their chicken is usually really good. Got my food, chicken was great, but the fries and okra were cold from sitting in my box waiting on the chicken. Fries weren't even cooked all the way. If I'm going to have to wait that long for my order, it all should at least be hot. I hope management reads this and actually takes corrective action.

This was by far the worst food i have ever received from chicken express. Half the chicken tenders were cooked to a crisp or refried and the other half was raw. The gizzards were so burnt you couldn't try to eat them. The only decent thing was the sides. We spent $37 to only have to cook something at home. We only saw teenagers working so we didn't think it would matter too call and complain. The cashier was very nice and courteous. I don't think we will be back at all.
This has been one of the worst experiences so far. I love chicken express food but the food i got tonight was dry and tasted old and my granddaughter said her corn on the cob tasted like chemical. The service was terrible, the employees were goofing off, not paying attention to the customers. So disappointing for me. Do better.

Went this evening to the drive thru, ordered at 5:59, waited over 30 minutes for the kid at the window to come back, asked if we already paid, asked for a receipt. I provided it to him, took him 5 minutes to bring my food back and then didn’t give me my receipt! Got home and my food was COLD!!! I would leave zero stars if it was an option
Barely got any food for how much I paid. Every worker was on their phone not paying attention. Also got the wrong food when I got home. Horrible experience.
Rating Chicken Express on Bell a one star is definitely an overstatement. I have received terrible food from here more than once. This time it was literally mind boggling how gross everything was! The chicken batter was so soggy it wouldn't stay intact. The chicken was way too bit and it was SO DRY and hard it was literally inedible. I would never feed this to my family. The fries and fried pickles were so soggy they dripped grease. The rolls were squished and doughy. All of it was gross. Such an inconvenience to go to a place that is supposed to deliver fresh and good food yet it is LITERALLY INEDIBLE. I will never ever eat here again, and to be honest, I hope you never do too!!

expect to bite into corn nuggets but bit into a jalapeño popper. they mixed in jalapeño poppers with my corn nuggets. very annoying. need to make sure you are cross contaminating your food!!!

Caleb is exactly what can ruin a total experience. Eating at the window and being an absolute prick. Drove up, his “how can I help you” was a flat out “what do you want”? Condescending to the extreme. Jazmine assured me she’d handle the situation. Amari who answered the phone understands what customer service is.

Shuts their DoorDash down too early. We were trying to order dinner only to find out they turn their DoorDash off before 8. How do you guys expect business during dinner when you guy shut off your DoorDash before most people eat dinner?! Very disappointed
I stopped in to grab some food and I stood at the register for over 5 mins and was never acknowledged. One employee was on the phone the whole time knowing I'm standing there ready to place an order. The other employees just kept walking by. No one took my order and I ended up just leaving. Very poor service. No head nod or a be with you in a moment, nothing. Sad, I was really craving their chicken tenders that day. This city has the worst customer service I've ever seen and I'm from New York so that's sad.
Location: 7104 Bell St. Amarillo TX This location was moving extremely slow. It took me five (5) minutes to even place my order (inside), and an additional literal twenty (20) minutes to receive my food. The staff did not communicate with me throughout the long delay. What is perhaps worst is that the tenders themselves were clearly not fresh, as the chicken was hard and mildly edible. The spicy tenders were better, but still clearly had been sitting out for some time. During this time frame, I saw at least eight (8) vehicles go through the drive thru---so it makes no sense to me as to why my order inside the restaurant took so egregiously long. Furthermore, throughout my long wait the manager and employees appeared to be loudly yelling back and forth about miscellaneous restaurant needs which was at times aggressive and far from a welcoming pleasant environment. For reference I ordered a 7-piece tender meal, only received 5 tenders and the smallest biscuit in the world. Quality of the food was dry and old, and when you are paying a sit-down restaurant price the omission of food and poor quality sides is unacceptable. After calling they offered me either a replacement if I were to return, or a measly 30 percent off on my next visit which is effectively the cost of the missing tenders. Overall, poor bang for the buck.

I ordered an was charged for a 3 piece fish dinner (3) tarter sauces, okra, mashed potatoes and a roll. I got 2 pieces of fish (2) cocktail sauces a roll and no potatoes. I caught the missing potatoes before I drove off but I missed the missing fish and tarter sauce. If you go to this location go inside and check your food order before you leave.
