LongHorn Steakhouse Amarillo Reviews
Always love stopping at the Big Texan when I go through Amarillo, never had a bad steak there. Service on the other hand needs improvement, maybe my bad luck of always getting bad servers but this is a different time and the servers seem preoccupied with their electronic devices. But the steak is worth the wait!!
The ribeye was a bit tough, but other entrees were great. Service was top notch.
Food was good but our server Joseph was awesome! He knew the menu, recommended appetizers, suggested things to go with our order, and definitely made the dessert sound so yummy. He was very personable and made sure we were happy the whole time we were eating. Thank you Joseph.
Steak was cooked perfectly & had great flavor, would highly recommend this place
Excellent Bleu cheese dressing. Brussel sprouts were SO worth the premium side charge. Simple chopped steak with sauteed mushrooms and onions in brown butter sauce was off the charts. Next time I'm going all out with the aged ribeye. Chicken fried steak, btw, is massive and phenomenal. Best value for budget dining. Kinda pricey, but worth every penny.
A very large group of us were in Amarillo for a volleyball tournament and staying at the hotel next door. We went for a late lunch when we were done playing. The man who seated us was a bit rude - he actually said it was “annoying” that we didn’t know the exact number of people who would be joining us. We weren’t sure how many families would come, but the restaurant was mostly empty bc this was between lunch and dinner. You would think he would’ve been happy that a large group that was drinking and eating came in. Other than that, everything was great. The two servers who took care of us were wonderful and the food was delicious.
Rolled into town about 8.30 and we were happy to find a steakhouse near our hotel. I rarely eat at a chain, but I am glad I did. Steak was cooked perfectly and the wild west shrimp was awesome
Had a fantastic meal. We chose this restaurant based on reviews and we were not disappointed! Ordered Flo’s filets medium rare and they were perfectly done. The salads were generous and the asparagus sides were the largest we’ve ever had. Wonderful ambience, attentive staff. This place exceeded our every expectation. Well done!!!
Hot bread. Great meal, baked spud, small sirloin. 20 oz Michelob Ultra beers. Quiet enough to hold a conversation with friends.
Not only is this one of our favorite places, but the service is next level. Joseph was our waiter and seriously gave the best service. Such a kind soul! So thankful and we will for sure be back.
Great steaks and appetizers. Food is always well prepared and service is good.
Nothing quite like a longhorn in the state of Texas! Got the T-bone medium cooked and it was simply amazing. The waitress did great too. Typical low-key atmosphere.
Ordered online since we were at Hotel 2 Suites next door as we always have when traveling to Colorado. One order was missing an item, made one phone call and talked to the manager (I believe “Dottie”, that they sent me to) and everything was taken care of plus some. Excellent service and always excellent food!!! Will always come back!!
I just ate here. Got the Outlaw ribeye. It was fantastic. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I’m a bit of a steak snob, but this place nailed it. Great service as well. The 6.50 margarita was very enjoyable for the price. I would definitely return and recommend to friends.
This restaurant was IT on the steak. Cooked to perfection. I ordered the Outlaw Ribeye to be cooked with the 7 pepper seasoning with rice pilaf on the side. (Try the 7 pepper seasoning) To boot Jeremiah did a great job on service and always had are glasses full and tended to our every need!
Our server Joseph took very good care of us ! Food was 10/10
A very good meal and great attentive service. This is the first time a waiter ask me to cut my steack to make sure it was cooked exactly like I ordered it. I recommend Longhorn Steackhouse
What a great dinner. Interacted with Zane and Manny during my visit--both were wonderful! Ordered fried chicken sandwich with garlic parmesan fries. Both were hot, fresh and packed with appropriate flavors!! Garlic lovers rejoice in these fries! Zane made the tasty suggestion of adding buffalo sauce on the sandwich, which was on point.
Delicious! The steaks were done to perfection. The service was friendly and quick. I highly recommend this steak house!
On my business trip I decided to have a nice steak dinner: N.Y. Strip, medium-well, Baked potato, and a Caesar salad... The short and sweet... It was the best damn steak 🥩 I've had in a long time! The chef was on point and cooked it to perfection. The steak was so delicious I did not need any ketchup or steak sauce whatsoever. It was extremely tasty, juicy, and made just the way I like it. The baked potato was cooked well, it was fluffy and with butter it was awesome. The Caesar salad with tomato added was awesome. The dressing was great. I decided to make my order at the bar and the bartender was great. She kept my drink full, was friendly, and I had a great conversation about Texas. Ironically there's a steakhouse directly next to the longhorn, but I know Longhorn usually offers a great deal on food and this place exceeded my expectations more than any other LongHorn steakhouse I've ever been to. If I ever get sent back to Amarillo Texas you can bet I'll be there again.
We went to Longhorn Steakhouse for our anniversary in order to get a good steak and we weren't disappointed. Everything from the service to the meal was great! My husband had the New York strip and I the salmon. We had their stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer which were to die for! We had gone to the Longhorn in Yukon, Ok over the holidays and were so impressed that we had to go again, hence our choice. We'll definitely go again!!!
I enjoyed a parmasean crusted chicken breast with asparagus and a sweet potato. Let me tell you... my chicken was moist, the asparagus was perfectly seasoned as well as my sweet potato, gurrrlll, with that cinnamon sugar, butter blend!!!! Mmm, mmm, mmm, is the best way I can describe my dinner.
I have been to a few Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants. I would been never have tried their new steak. If it had not my server Summer's recommendation. It was fantastic.
Great atmosphere, food was good. Service good. Was able to have good conversation and having booths was a plus.
Recommend to me by a coworker and had great food at a reasonable price. I would recommend and will be returning with my family again
We are very picky about our steaks. Everything we ordered was delicious and made exactly how we ordered it. There was not one thing we ordered that we did not like. Definitely recommend 10/10 for a steakhouse. We would have spent the same exact amount somewhere else and it would not have been half as good.
Had lunch yesterday around 1:30 at LongHorn with my mom and her boyfriend. Food was amazing as always and our server was amazing — even while helping a big party of eight, he was super kind and attentive to us. I forgot to get his name, but I hope he sees this:) Thank you! - Alyssa Parker
Saturday is our date night and we finally got to go out. This was our first time to go there. I have been a waitress as well for 8 years and I always look for details when I served my guess. Tonight we had that waiter that took it up a notch. His name is Shelby and he was always on point and took such care of what he does best. Our dining experience was the greatest we have had in a long time. Great Job..
Went early as is New Year eve. Here from MN and liked reviews. Was greeted and told 10 min wait or so. Got a glass and bourbon seven. Table ready. The bartender as well as our waitress were attentive. I had the chopped steak w mushrooms and gravy. I would say it is the best I have ever had. My husband had 6oz sirloin and grilled shrimp over rice. He also enjoyed his meal. Thank you to all those who work in restaurant. We appreciate you. Happy New Year.
Great place to eat. I recommend. Of course everyone has different taste so I'm sure will be someone's who disagree. Still a good place
Came here for christmas eve with a party or 7, had reservations so we got in quick, Joseph, our server was a 10/10, polite, attentive, precious person. We really loved having him wait on us. The decor in Longhorn is really cozy, the establishment was clean and nice. Food was wonderful. Would return again. ❤️
Met a friend for dinner on a Saturday night. It was busy. The host was kind and quick. We were seated within the promised time. Joseph was phenomenal! Our food was delicious and fresh. I haven’t been here in a long while due to some service issues in the past. This was a wonderful experience. Everyone was kind and attentive! Thank you, Longhorn! And thank you, Joseph, your service was top notch!
Shay and Irish are awesome!! Great food and amazing drinks. If you ever want a fantastic dirty martini you have to come sit at the bar and enjoy the master drinks and jokes with Irish and the amazing just right food and hospitality with a smile with Shay tending to every need you may have. Amazing atmosphere inside the doors of Longhorn steakhouse. Than you guys for making my husband and I night the best ever..
Visited for dinner on 6/22/2025. The hotel I was staying at was within walking distance. Walked over and sat at the bar so I could watch the NBA Finals game. Service was a little slow, but that is mainly because the bartender was the only bartender and she was also taking care of to-go orders and the waitress for the several tables in the bar area too. I had the Wild West Shrimp and Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Both extremely delicious! A few people near me in the bar area ordered the shrimp because I kept saying how good it was! Normally my go to items here are the Parmesan crusted chicken and white cheddar stuffed mushrooms. This is enough to serve 2 people and have leftovers.
We stopped here for dinner after a day on the road. After sitting through delays due to grass fires and a dust storm, we were all tired and hungry! We had steaks all around, I split the 6 oz sirloin steak and 8 grilled shrimp with one of my kids. It came with a bed of rice and we picked asparagus for the other included side. We also ordered the mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. We split the Chocolate Stampede and Cheesecake with pecans & caramel... the whole family couldn't even finish them. The Chocolate Stampede was enormous - 2 full slices of cake, 2 scoops of ice cream plus whipped cream! We ended up finishing the ice cream and getting the rest of the cake to go. The cheesecake was really delicious. The cake was still yummy the next day. Everyone enjoyed their meals and dessert. Great place to stop after a long day. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was attentive. We would happily eat here again.
Came in for and early dinner. Not very packed, so it was nice and enjoyable. The food was delicious and although I haven't gone to Longhorn Steakhouse in almost a decade, the prices and proportions were way better than I remembered. The food was GREAT! Got the Wild West Shrimp as an appetizer, and it was huge, great value. The got a sirloin with some roasted veggies and a side salad (which was also huge). Absolutely delicious. Will make my next visit sooner than 10 years 🤣

We ended here, because the other restaurant was an hr. wait, The chicken wings were delicious, the steak was amazing, best steak I have had in a long time.
Excellent ambiance, amazing Cajun chicken bites and filet mignon, wonderful service, and, of course, an exceptional old fashion.
It was a really busy place. We were still served quickly. Everything was terrific except my husband said his steak was salty. I like lots of seasonings and salt is one of them. But if you're a low seasoning-low salt kind of person you should mention it while you're ordering. We both would recommend-highly!
Party of 4. We had Lamb chops, chicken tenders, steak, 7 pepper steak salad, cheesecake, molten cake and Steakhouse cake. Food was excellent, service by Sofie was not great. We took home half of each of desserts. This was my birthday celebration and I'm always pleased with the Lamb chops.
As always, a solid steak house choice. Thr restaurant is observing social distancing and all servers are wearing masks. Hand sanitizer at the door is hidden to the right as you walk in. Kids meals are reasonable and quite large. Flo's Filet was perfectly cooked and the crispy brussel sprouts were delicious. Husband ordered a gigantic Nolan Ryan chicken fried steak that was very good. The Crispy Texas Okra is fried, halved okra and very fresh. My only complaint was the server grabbing the top of the glasses without gloves.
I actually like Longhorn Steakhouse but man help y'all host staff. She was holding it together while morons were hounding her on Valentines day. Im actually still in here eating. People suck.
The food was pretty good. I got steak and shrimp. The steak was really good but the shrimp was cold. We had a fairly large party so only half was served while the others had to wait another 10-20 mins. I'd be willing to go back but with fewer people
This was quite possibly the BEST Caesar salad, and Filet Mignon I've had in my 53 years of existence on this planet. The steak was wonderfully butter basted, with the crust on the outside charred with salt on high heat so the outside is crunchy and the inside is super tender and moist. It was amazingly tender, juicy, moist. And flavorful! , tender, juicy, cooked to PERFECTION. The only slight gripe I can give the food is the steak was SLIGHTLY over peppered. I love pepper and peppercorn brandy steaks, so I enjoyed it but I can see someone not so in love with pepper having an issue. The Caesar salad was the best I've ever had bar none. Anywhere in the world. I sat at the bar and the bartender was great, poured my draft beer in an iced glass. Was fast, efficient, and pleasant. The only REAL gripe I have is I had to sit and listen to the girls that worked there, as servers i assume, stand in the doorway of the kitchen and gossip. I was early to dinner arriving before 6 and they were not busy, so I understand they were bored and had nothing to do. but honestly they should go elsewhere not visible to customers to gossip and talk. The pleasant ambiance. And the amazing quality of the food is cut somewhat short having to listen to young ladies sit and gab about who they went out with recently. I do not live in Amarillo, but pass through ALOT. and WILL be back, Maybe this was a one time thing, that is certainly possible, but If this was to happen again, I would find myself inclined to ask management to correct the gossiping in front of customers, or choose not to sit at the bar.
I stopped at the Longhorn Steakhouse in Amarillo last week on the way back to New Mexico. The place was jam-packed, and there were at least 20 people crammed into the waiting area. I was surprisingly shown immediately to a table (I guess all those people were in a couple large groups that had to be seated together). I did have to wait a few minutes before a waiter came by, but this didn't bug me because the place was filled to the brim. I ordered the 9 oz. "Flo's Filet" (filet mignon) with mashed potatoes and sweet tea. I ordered the steak in medium, but it was delivered medium rare, but I can't really knock them for that because I always order steaks a little more well done because steakhouses ALWAYS undercook! The steak was perfect. The texture and flavor were superb. The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. The mashed potatoes were quite good as well. The Caesar salad that came before the meal was just okay (not enough Caesar sauce). The only thing I didn't enjoy about the experience was the noise level. The place was jam-packed and loud, and to aggravate the situation further the waiters loudly led the place in a rendition of "Happy Birthday", which had my ears bleeding. All told my meal, with the sweet tea and everything, came to about $34, and I was so happy with how good the steak was I paid with $50 and told the waiter "keep the change".
The Ribeye Steak, Macaroni and Cheese, and Mixed Green Salad were all good. The Whiskey and Coke drink was Spectacular. Kaitlyn was fantastic as my server. Definitely recommend when traveling through Amarillo. Returned on 9.30.2025 and was served by Jordan. He was Spectacular as was the Lemon Garlic Chicken.
The restaurant had an off night when we were there. Two issues, main course arrived before salad and temperatures on both our steaks were way off. On the good side, management was quick to correct and make it right. Second try was good. Management offered to cover our dinners but we declined but did receive a comped dessert. Restaurant was clean even though busy that night. One suggestion would be a better wine selection although that would be a corporate decision.

Is a steak house. I don't believe everyone here eats their food without drinking at all. I couldn't even get the refills on my soda after flagging down the server and asking for them
My wife had the lunch strawberry and chicken salad that she enjoyed a lot. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and it had a vinegarette dressing that was just right. I ordered the rib eye and was suspicious of the steak that came( as pictured). When I cut into it, I was not surprised to find that it was a NY strip. After a short discussion with the manager and about 8-10 minutes of wait time, my replacement steak arrived. The quality was medium rate peppery but tender. For the money, I probably would not reorder. The manager did comp the steak after having to request recompense.
We were told there would be a 15 minute wait. We waited 45 minutes and other parties were seated before us who came in after us. The steaks were so salty that two of our party could not even eat their steaks. The manager did remove those from the Bill. Our waiter was really good and none of this was his fault! Probably won't be back.
I ordered my favorite meal as I always do anywhere I go, and got this sorry excuse for a chicken fried steak. Not only did did I get this sorry excuse for a steak that looks like it came off the kids menu, but their was a hair in our food and chunks of food on the silverware. Last time coming here.
My husband, mother in law and I just ate here tonight and where to begin!? My best friend's husband used to manage a Longhorn and so I know what quality is! First impressions: the restaurant was dirty in the waiting area, there were servers or management sitting down while there was a wait. The hostess took about 10 minutes to take care of 1 set of guests. Then when the manager took over, he was very sloppy and seemed to have an attitude. Then we sit down and the server Jennifer S just made the experience even worse. We saw her once through our entire meal. We never got refills. She rolled her eyes when I asked for a kids menu. (I had surgery and can't eat a lot.) Then she brought us a cold appetizer. When we asked for it to be warm, she brought us some without the meat in it. My mother in law got her salad before we got our drinks. My shrimp was raw and I never got an opportunity to tell the manager because he never came around and neither did our server. The food wasn't hot. I have to say, this was the worst experience I've ever had at a Longhorn and will never be back. I will also post this on the website. Please, don't waste your money!
It took 10 min to give our drink order. Another 10 min to receive our drinks. At least 2 items we tried to order weren't available. And we were never offered a second drink. We were sitting in the bar! What the heck!
My steak was stringy hard to cut and chew. cooked at med-rare. Seasoned well but entire dinner was also cold. All staff acted as if they would of rather of been somewhere else. Come on guys. I'm local and thought I would try you out. I know that $30 is not much these days for a dinner but with the rise in cost to go out it has become a treat and I'd like to at least be able to chew it and my food to be hot. Not hard. Won't be back, I'll go back to Texas Road House.

It was Mother's Day so very packed. No big deal waiting for a table for 20 minutes. Server started out friendly. Ordered a steak well done. Always have to send it back because it's never well done the first time. Our server took our order and brought our drinks then she never checked on us again. The lady that brought my steak took it back to the cook to get it well done. The manager happened to come by, very nice and friendly guy, and brought my husband catsup and took my steak back to get well done, again. Finally, the steak came back just right and we enjoyed our meal except that my husband needed more tea but our server never checked on us. She never stopped to see if our order came out right or if we needed anything. She finally showed up at our table when we finished our meal to say she'd bring our check. It took a while longer for her to return with the check. I told her that I had to send my steak back and that my husband needed tea. She apologized and said it was just so crazy. I said I know it's crazy but we are paying patrons and that she could do better. She didn't like the advice. My husband didn't leave a tip. Really, how are they suppose to get better if you don't tell them?! Not sure we'll go back. Food was really good but the service isn't worth the aggrivation.
Went in and was promptly seated around 4pm. Hostess wasn't very friendly and kind of threw the menus and silverware on the table and walked off. We sat down and I told my wife what I wanted to drink and ran to the restroom. Got back and no one had taken drink order so we sat and waited. We figured out what we wanted to eat and planed to order food and drinks at the same time. Sat and waited. Watched other people come in and get their drink orders taken and still nothing. After sitting for 20 minutes without being acknowledged we got up and left. We walked across the street to Saltgrass and had a great meal with always incredible service. Our first experience with Longhorn years ago was terrible so we avoided it until recently after prompting from our kids. We had 2 pretty good experiences but after this they will probably be written off again. There's too many other places in the area that provide quality service and food to deal with this.
We called ahead for a party of 9 last night and were told probably 30 minutes. I understand this is only an estimate. We received the text confirmation at 6:23 PM and our party checked in on site at 6:40 PM including a 4 month old. We watched tables being broken down and moved around multiple times during this period. At 7:55 PM mom and baby could not endure so we left. The only time I saw a manager was when he stood at the host stand while we were leaving and I let him know to take us off the list. No apology or explanation offered. I like the food but there are plenty of other steakhouses in Amarillo where we would not be ignored.
I gave them my card to pay for are meal the bill was 131.63 I got 2 notification on my phone from my bank app they Charge me twice I asked it to reimburse me my money. They said no and that they did not charge me twice and I showed them a picture of my bank app they did charge me twice they said it was my bank make sure you check your bank account because they rob $131.63 for me
We ordered a to-go order around 5:00 said pick up was at 5:30 we got there a little before and put and called that we were there we waited 10 minutes so I went inside the front desk told me to go to the pick up line o went over there stood there for 5 minutes no one came over there so I went back to my car and had my husband go in. We waited a total of 30 minutes AFTER the time of pick up. The front desk lady had a horrible attitude my husband told her to smile a little more which she said well I’ve been here all day. Terrible pick up order experience
My family and I went to eat here last night for y birthday dinner. 3 kiddos and my husband and I. We walked in when it wasn’t super busy. At first our waitress was great. 1.5 hours later we finally get our food. I had asked a few time about it because my kiddos were over it and was met with “it’s coming” twice. When it arrived 2 meals were cold and our steaks were over cooked. Manager came out took mine and brought a new one back in less then 5 minutes (how if I had to wait an hour and a half for what little we did have?) They seemed not to care at all. People around us were eating an leaving. People ordered after us were already done eating and gone. Our food was not eatable. It was WAY over seasoned. So salty it was so gross. Kids good was hard from sitting out. So disappointing. They didn’t try to comp anything to make it right after we were there so long. We were kind and polite and my kids did awesome. Longhorn did my family dirty. Especially on my birthday. We paid $109 to eat only our app. And took the rest home to our dog because they charged us anyways. They we felt uncared for by the manager and our waitress was something I have never experienced before. What a dang bummer. I just wanted a birthday steak dinner with my family. $109 down the drain.
My steak came out raw, it was supposed to be medium . The steak was so super salty, salt was all I could taste. I told the waitress and she went to see about getting it replaced they apparently told her to tell me "we spice the food boldly here" & that was my answer. Another word they don't care and S.O.L. buddy. Avoid this place
The cowboy ribeye, medium rare. Substandard beef, chewy, and grainy. Not worth finishing. 6 oz fillet ordered medium came out well done, looked like a piece of tuna that had been stepped on. Service was fine, and the atmosphere was fine. I'm sure they would have comped the meal if I complained about it, but I didn't go for a free meal. I went for a good steak, and I was seriously disappointed. IF, I ever go back, I will NEVER order steak here again.
Went there last night for my husband’s birthday dinner with my family and the food and service was bad. My daughter ordered a kids steak well done for my 3 year old grandson and they gave him a rare steak. Then my mom ordered a medium rare steak and gave her a medium well/well done steak, they took both steaks back and the manager cooked it himself and it was still wrong so they took both meals off the ticket. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with steamed broccoli and was eating when I saw something not right about it. And when I showed the manager, the manager said oh it looks like a piece of mushroom or broccoli and I’m sorry to me. It looked like a worm or something, but I will post a picture of what it look like. It’s a bad quality picture, but it’s still a picture. So I’m not going back for a while
The host did not smile and was not friendly. So no warm welcome. The bar waitress took our order, but we had to ask our own waitress after 15 minutes for the beer we ordered. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, she did a fabulous job and had a smile on her face and was quick! The food was disappointing. The Texas onion appetizer was nothing special, the fries were overly salty, and the salad had more dressing than lettuce. The ribs were fatty and the steak was tough. Unfortunately, we will not be back
We took our church group out there and had made previous arrangements with the manager that was not there today to have to allow our room to use the lunch menu because there are a lot of elderly in our group and they said it would be fine so when we get there, we have two waitresses after they finally waited on us. We had nine adults in one kid in our group. The waitress told us that now they were serving dinner and could not do the lunch menu. I had the manager come out to our table and I told her our situation and she said that’s fine. No problem we can do that but it was all downhill from there. The food took forever. I think they salted it. It was so salty we couldn’t hardly eat it and then it took forever to get paid out 2+ this group will never return. Thank you.
