My Thai Amarillo Reviews
Good food and large portions! Reasonably priced, friendly staff. Came in on Saturday night during dinner rush and got my takeout order in 15 minutes. Stop by if you’re in Amarillo!
Ive been coming here since I was a kid and never feel disappointed. Service is good and food is good.
Great food with portions that do not disappoint. Excellent service. All around great place to eat.
Always love it here, sometimes the rice is a little on the dry side, but the orange chicken is always good
Traveling through Amarillo TX it was so nice to have GREAT Asian food available. Food was not only delicious & authentic, but had great serving size. Thanks My Thai Restaurant!
We stopped here on our way out of town for a trip. Food is delicious, prices are reasonable, and service was great. Very clean restaurant with nice decorations too. The pineapple curry shrimp is especially delicious!
Sunday nights can be a difficult time to dine in Amarillo, because it is around 3pm that the city becomes practically a food desert. It’s mostly the big chains that remain open; the Mom and Pop joints turn off the lights and don’t return until Tuesday. But I was elated to find My Thai open one recent Sunday evening. I had narrowed my search to “Thai food near me,” and this was the only Asian-ish place open among the search results. It had been many years since I had been, primarily because I don’t find myself in that part of town often, but I was hungry. I was quickly impressed by how much takeaway business they do, which may very well be part of the Sunday factor. They had a 6-foot table set up with bagged orders waiting for customers to arrive. That said, there were still easily a dozen tables occupied for in-house dining. The menu is actually rather short and compact for a Thai place, where I routine expect six to eight pages of curries, Pad this-and-that, and so forth. I quickly spied Pad See Ew (which they spell phonetically, Pad Ci-U, and ordered it with tofu. From order time to plate on my table, only 10 minutes elapsed, not bad for a place that was easily serving more meals to go than for dine-in. The food was delicious, the price very affordable, and the serving size abundant. I left feeling just fine…not hungry, not stuffed. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to include tofu as a protein option for many of the other items they list. Asian food is for the most part very scalable; it’s easy to sub one thing for another, and tofu for chicken in a yellow curry is no big stretch. Perhaps they would do this upon request (which I don’t know), but it would be nice for non-carnivorous patrons to know they have more choices than what appear. Overall, a great dining experience, one I hope to repeat soon!
Visited on a Monday night and it wasn't super busy. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao and it was easily one of the best Thai dishes I've ever had. The food came out fast and stove hot. The spice level was perfect for me. My table mates enjoyed their yellow curry and chow mein. I would heartily recommend this place. Great staff, generous portions at a reasonable price.
Great food. Awesome customer service. Ample food quantity. Their menu is very economical , plenty of variety food to chose from , and Welcoming ambient with nice slow music in the background. Everything ( I had egg drop soup, cheese wonton and sea food Pad kao spicy) was remarkable, delicious and fresh. Abby our server was amazing - hands down. Checking up on customer regularly, very polite , friendly and professional and very focused when taking orders and talking with customers. Keep up the great work Abby.I’ve being to this place in past several times and everytime get the same great food, awesome people and good service.
Excellent food and the taste is amazing. We had the satay, spring rolls, shrimp chow mein, shrimp pad Thai and vegetable fried rice. The portions are huge and we will be eating them for days. The service was great and the server was very friendly. She made sure our drinks were filled and checked in to see if we were ok.
We both had Pad Thai and enjoyed the flavors. Portion was generous.
Food is always good, people are always friendly. Great place to eat.
Ordered Panang curry like I almost always do at a Thai restaurant. This was very different than anywhere else I’ve ever been. I did not specify the heat I desired and it was not very spicy. It was a curry sauce like I expected. I ordered the tofu which was fried and tasted good but there were no other vegetables in the dish. I’m sure that the menu described this item correctly but I just assumed there would be vegetables in the dish. It was just tofu and the curry sauce. So if you are a vegetarian and want vegetables in your curry you’ll need to request it. The chicken curry was also the same with no veggies. The portions were very good for a lunch meal and everyone at the table took leftovers home. Some people in my party also ordered some pork skewers – two orders and there was so much food with each order they couldn’t even eat it all! Staff was friendly and it was very busy at lunch time.
The decor does not bring in the Thai environment and the music that was playing was pop music our server was always in the back chatting with her co workers and the spices on our table was almost gone and when it came to our food we got our food after the people who ordered after us but they got their food first the server was also always distracted by something else
I order egg drop soup small it was just water and egg no taste. Plus order spring roll it was burnt and dried out plus I ordered moo goo gai pan there was 3/4 rice and maybe cup of vegetables hardly no sauce. For one person it was close to 20.00 not worth the money at all. First time there won't go back.
The restaurant is not Thai! Typical Chinese. Pad Thai was missing the main ingredients what makes it Pad Thai - peanuts, Thai sauce, egg, fish sauce, shallot, bean sprouts and lime! Didn’t have all of this! Disappointed. We lived in Thailand this place wasn’t even good Asian food.
Was not happy they forgot to give us fish sauce and the chili tomato sauce with our sticky rice and that’s the whole reason we order sticky rice . Also they forgot the lemon slices and chili sauce !
