Pho 84 Asian Fusion Amarillo Reviews
Had spicy soup, it was tasty. Reasonable price/foods.
This was some of the best chicken Pho I have ever had. The staff was amazing! They were attentive and made sure we knew exactly what we were ordering. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a great experience! If you are unsure about the Vietnamese coffee, it is worth taking the chance !
I spotted Pho 84 while driving on I-40 and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Stir Fry Spicy Beef and Gyoza. The Stir Fry Spicy Beef was indeed spicy but it was not overwhelming spicy. The Gyoza's were delicious. The staff were friendly and quick with bringing out our orders.
I am sitting at Pho 84 as I write this review. I just finished having gyoza (steamed) and simmer pork spare ribs with house special sauce topped and black pepper. Not only was this a delicious meal; it is a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant is located on 34th and Bell behind the Happy State Bank on the corner. It is an unassuming little place. Inside it is bright and spacious. I'm dining alone and was able to enjoy an audiobook with my meal. I would recommend this place if you want to be able to hear yourself and your companion(s) while having a meal worth having. The presentation of the gyoza with the sauce (my appetizers) was a pleasant surprise, and I enjoyed them. It's the entrée, however, that made me a fan. The simmer pork ribs are so flavorful. The meat is juicy and tender. I had a moment with this meal. (😅) The steamed rice, cucumbers, and carrots were light perfect additions. I cannot wait for my next visit! (This local gem was recommended by my friends. Good looking out homies! 😘) 01/20/2023 Update: I had a second visit and tried the peanut wings. They are flavorful and a nice size, but I will not order them again. (It's just a personal preference. I like crisper wings, and the peanut combination did not win me over.) The service and atmosphere remained good.
It’s a decent stop for a meal on a road trip to Colorado. We ordered Pad Thai, grilled pork with egg, and pho with three meats. Overall, we’d rate it about a 6 out of 10 for Vietnamese food, with the Thai dish scoring slightly higher. The pho broth wasn’t particularly outstanding but was fine for a road trip—definitely better than fast food, though not especially memorable. The grilled pork was okay, but the rice was a bit dry. Service was good, and the staff took good care of us. The restroom was clean and looked new.
Got pho in my time of need when my body was feeling down. Felt better after consuming the pho. It's good food overall, but I felt they were holding back a bit on the toppings. The service could've been better as well, but it's still decent.
The food was very good, the service friendly, and everything was clean. I would give it 5 stars if it were more reasonably priced. That's my only complaint. I got the pepper steak and it had great flavor, but I felt like I received a half portion for twice the price. Mine was $16, my husband's was $15 for pho, and my kids had chicken fried rice for $13. There's too much competition in Amarillo for prices like that. Especially when you can get chicken fried rice for $5-8. I had a vietnamese iced coffee that was excellent- I would recommend trying it.
I think it was a hard day for these guys. The staff was nice and friendly, but too busy. The Thai tea was great! Downside: The food came cold. I had Pad Thai with chicken but the noodles had a very strong fish flavor, and the sauce was kinda missing (for Pad Thai, to me, a good sauce makes it). We had a dozen people dine and less than half enjoyed the meal. It’s a nice idea and we’re happy to have another Pho option, but they need to work on their presentation, service and chef experience. Will try again after their upcoming move to see if improved.
I've been to many Vietnamese restaurants across the USA and this one is average nothing amazing. Service was ok not that friendly. Food was good not great. Bathroom was dirty. And The tai tea was not good. I explained to the waitress that I didn't like the tea as our table ordered 3 and none of us cared for it as it was super milky and not flavorful. Waitress said nothing she can do. We told her again we don't want it because it taste bad and she said it's already on the bill and can't remove the drinks. Our bill for 4 people with the gross tai teas was $95 plus tip. I wouldn't come back and definitely wouldn't recommend. There's so many other options here in Amarillo.
I was really looking forward to the Pho and all the reviews. If I’m being honest this was one of the most bland and smallest bowls of pho I’ve had and not much for ten bucks. The service was mediocre at best and the waitress seemed to be slightly irritated when I asked for more than one napkin and some extra sprouts. I would not return.
Atmosphere is not clean, everywhere cramps under the tables. The service was neither friendly nor attentive. The staff were indifferent and ignored all our requests. From the very first minute, the woman greeted us with a displeased expression. Apparently, because we weren't locals. Texans are usually very welcoming and friendly. No spoons and folks no napkins. Edward waiter was rude and started to blame customer that they took themself spoons . I could say that discrimination signs was shown. Caz to our neighbors table who was Asian everything have been taken. We love Texas. And this little incident won't spoil our opinion of this state. We wish everyone peace and kindness. What I have to add that manager came to apologise for his staff mistakes. He is great manager caz he left good mood and even brought from his side a small sign of attention. Thanks for that.
My experience was truly terrible. The “Thai tea no call” drink was not as good as expected. When I gave my feedback, the man at the counter responded disrespectfully, saying: “If you want to leave a bad review, go ahead.” Such behavior left me very disappointed and made me feel disrespected as a customer.
For a Pho based restaurant, the pho was okay. It was a bit bland and lacked flavors. However, what was the main issue on why I’m never going to eat there again is the staff. A lady there who was my waitress was very rude and did not want to serve us. She always looked unhappy and really just didn’t want to be there. Really really poor service.
Terrible place. Servant is rude. For $20 only 4 pieces of dried meat in the pho, basically cut from one pieces. And missing rare beef which included in the pho combination on the menu. I don’t know why this owner reply another meat with such a jerk way, you don’t know your menu??? Let me circle it for you. See it now?? Are you a joke?? Do you have the rare beef on menu?? Do you understand English??? You better Google translate into whatever language you can understand! Terrible place! Terrible service, mess up dishes and ask me translate? That’s how your parents teach you to apologize????
