Thai Town Amarillo Reviews
Ive have been eating here since high school. The food is always fresh. Recommend the chicken fried rice with hot sauce. Don’t care for the canned sodas but food is always good.
I didn't get a card fee for using my card like I saw in a review! The food is delicious, nice big shrimp, and portion when you pick that for your protein with a dish! Great customer service! Peaceful clean, fast service!🥰😋
I have never eaten here before. My boyfriend and I just decided to stop by. The place is the food is so amazing. Alot of food!!! The people are so smiley and we ever even come on Christmas Eve (at lunch). All in all 10 out of 10 would recommend!
Last minute find while headed to the airport… cozy and clean establishment with fast friendly service. Portions are very generous as well!
Good is absolutely amazing and great portions but not much meat in fried rice plate
My wife & I have been eating here quite a bit the last month or two & have been eating variety of dishes (about 15 so far) on the menu. We have been very delighted with all the dishes! The pics I’ve attached show two of our favorites! The spring rolls are superb and the Udon Pad Kee Mao with pork is excellent!!! Due to dietary constraints, we order it without bean sprouts. We also omit the Asian basal. (We haven’t acquired a taste for Asian basal.) However, the chef staff has ALWAYS made the changes we requested, without fail!!! The service is outstanding! (Yes, there is some wait time if they have a full house..which is a challenge for them. BUT, all food is cooked from scratch! It is worth the wait!!!) The ladies there are top notch! We love them ALL for their great smiles, attitude, and sincerity!!! They work HARD! The restaurant is nicely decorated, very clean and relaxing to us! For freshly cooked dishes, fresh vegetables, fresh noodles, lean fresh meats and great cooking Asian skills, only 5 stars seem insufficient for the enjoyment we derive by frequenting this establishment!!! The only thing missing is Asian duck dishes which we love so much. (Maybe, they might run some specials featuring occasional new menu items on a limited basis!!!) However, this is definitely a working man’s restaurant! If you’re familiar with Asia, you’ll taste the tastes of their culture here in Amarillo!!!
This place has to be one of my favorite Thai places in town. The quality of the food and the service is always consistent. The girls are very sweet and you can tell the kitchen puts a lot of love into their food. My favorite is the seafood soup(juice 😅) and the cheese wontons. As someone who doesn’t eat meat and hardly eats seafood it’s perfect for me. It’s always clean in there as well. As a server at another restaurant I pay attention to everything anywhere I go and they do great every time. I don’t trust many places with my food, but I definitely trust these people.
Excellent service with a family atmosphere. Fast ticket times but staggered delivery of each person's order over about 4 mins, perhaps. 4 mins, 4 stars. I know a lot of places serve like this (when it's hot - GO) so by telling you my hope is that you expect it... then my hope is that you'll overlook this small detail and SEE that everything else is awesome!
Not a fancy place, but has great appeal to working class middle America. My meal was delicious and the waitress, one of the owners, was first rate. I asked for her help in placing an order – she asked good, sensible questions, resulting in a great meal. I will be eating there again during my stay in Amarillo.
The young girl (the thicker one) at the drive thru window is very rude. Needs some lessons in customer service. Food is ok.
I think they must have changed owners, this used to be the best Thai food in town. I was not happy with it today. Egg rolls are different and have that pre-made flavor, beef jerky was very tough (still good flavor) and the pad Thai.. nope not the same. Been going here since the 90s and it has never tasted like this.
Horrible wait time, ordered in the drive thru they had go around into the street back into their parking lot, 1 hr still no food? I got off they said 5more mins Was not 5mins at all.
Yes ordered the str.fr veg with extra Vegas this is what I got for 12 $ I'm thinking I couldn't add my sweet n sour over the veg n rice . way to much brown juice.never seen str. Fr veg.rice served this way very disappointed ..Guess I will stick to Mia thia or chiyos
Go through the window. Order (interrupt) from the rudest person I've met. When you add something and charge you for it, should they count is as substitution and take the original menu item away? NO i payed for extra item. Then was told to drive around and park in the lot and come in, in 5 min. What? I came through the drive thru to NOT go in. The noodles i recieved were like jello and one whole unit of noodle. Charlie, my dog even said no. The chkn fried rice portion is small, I mean very small. The best part was the carrots in the soggy sweet n sour chkn. Negative thumbs DOWN
I had a pretty disappointing experience at Thai Town in Amarillo. While the food is actually good, the customer service and card fee policy left a lot to be desired. They charge a 4% fee for using a card, which I think is excessive—especially since they don’t clearly post this anywhere. When I told the cashier I didn’t want to pay the fee, she had a noticeably bad attitude. She didn’t smile, avoided eye contact, and just generally made me feel unwelcome. She called over someone else to help her, and even then, the attitude didn’t improve. Eventually, they reduced the card fee slightly, but the way it was handled was awkward and passive-aggressive. When it came time to pay, she held out the card reader without saying a word, just staring off into space and waiting for me to figure out she wanted me to use Apple Pay. After an awkward silence, she finally mumbled “you ready?” instead of just clearly communicating. The food might be worth coming back for, but I’d honestly think twice because of how I was treated. If you do go, bring cash—unless you want to pay extra and deal with unfriendly service. Edit: my original review was 3 stars. This has now dropped down to 1 star due to them continually adding the same card fee.
How are yall gonna have a girl with an ugly attitude taking orders. Placing all the food and drinks on one end without us knowing what drinks belonged to who. Then to top it off she charges whatever prices she wants to charge ! Man this place is going down.. and the attitude from these younger workers makes me not wanna go back. Bring back the old Thai Town!!
Horrible service and the food lacks flavor it once had with the previous owners. Server was rude and not attentive at all. Not wasting any more money at this place overpriced plates !
