Carnation Café is praised for its delicious food and friendly service, especially from staff like Lupita. The fried pickles and Mickey waffles are highly recommended. Some find better options elsewhere in Disneyland, despite the good food.
Tip: Reserve on the app to avoid lines.

This is the best Value sit down and dine restaurant at Disneyland. The food here is good and generally has the American Diner staples at reasonable prices. Walt’s Chilli is always my go to starter but the fried pickles are awesome also.
Still wonderful after all these years! Make your reservations because this place is an oasis from the crowds on Main Street where you will find delicious food and refreshing drinks. Chef Oscar's Loaded Baked Potato soup is rich and hearty to start, or if you're having a lighter meal, but the burgers and chicken-fried chicken will power you through your visit. Also, if you're an old timer like me, you will be delighted to learn that you can now enjoy alcohol with your meal! I savored my Old Fashioned.
Rebecca truly made my Disneyland experience special. As a solo traveler during a very busy time, it can sometimes feel hard to get a good table or feel included — but she went out of her way to make me feel genuinely welcomed and looked after. She seated me at a wonderful table, checked in with such warmth, kindly helped take photos for me, and brought a level of care and thoughtfulness that turned a simple meal into a memorable moment. Her kindness and human touch meant more than she probably realizes. Thank you, Rebecca, for making a solo guest feel seen, comfortable, and valued. You’re exactly what makes Disneyland feel magical.
Nice atmosphere, food was great. Plus it is right on Main st on your way in to Disneyland. Perfect way to start your day.
Carnation Cafe is an excellent place for lunch in Disneyland! Thank you to Rachel and Kevin for helping keep our active toddler entertained. The veggie burger with fries ($22) and wedge salad ($17) were delicious. Great quality at a fair price. Pro Tips: - Make a reservation on the Disneyland app - Grab a seat by the outside patio gate so you can people watch on Main Street! - Request a GF menu if someone in your party has allergies
First time dining at Disneyland’s Carnation Cafe and this was an excellent choice. We had a reservation for dinner that somehow we confused for a lunch reservation. The Hostess Alejandra worked some magic and managed to seat us for lunch. We ordered Beef Stroganoff ($26) and Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans ($22). The Beef Stroganoff was really really flavorful and had Pearl onions and mushrooms. I can only hope to make this dish half as good at home. The Chicken Fried Chicken was one smaller (but plenty) chicken breast with a nice cream gravy. The green beans were quite tasty too. Our server was Valerie and she was friendly and welcoming and as attentive as we wanted/needed. This restaurant has both outdoor and more comfortable indoor seating. This is located inside Disneyland, about halfway down Main Street just after the Emporium on the left side.
Great customer service from Danny! Very friendly and welcoming. Even shared a bit of history of this place. Chili omelet was perfect. Not sure how they get the eggs so fluffy. They serve an Old Fashioned here as well.
First of all, bucket list check for the Mickey waffle, great for kids and Disney Dads. The food was amazing for breakfast. With a sister in law being vegetarian, so greatly for the delicious vegetarian options. The veggie scramble saved the trip honestly, because it started the day right. The coffee was pretty mid. Had a slight acetone taste. The only reason I gave the atmosphere a 3 stars is because while seated outside, there a ton of traffic. The bathroom is adjacent to the patio area. You may get a sniff of someone’s turkey leg from last night being digested. Anyway, the service was great as well. I would definitely come back here, not because of the smells but because it makes everybody happy… and that’s what Disney is all about right? Review ended here.
Of all the table service restaurants on property, this might be my favorite. The staff have always been welcoming, even when the restaurant seems chaotically busy. The food is consistently good. We haven't had a bad meal and we've frequented several times. Even with menu changes, the new dishes are always as tasty as previous favorites. Reservations are highly recommended and if you come during a parade time, be kind to the staff at the host stand and don't expect to get seated with a parade view.
We love Carnation Café and went back twice. The service was very attentive, and I love the way they treated my daughter, giving her colouring and making sure she was enjoying her food. I had a salmon dish that I has was phenomenal and better than a similar yet more expensive dish at Blue Bayou. The fried pickles were so good. We don’t mind splurging for good food and this is definitely my favourite restaurant in Disneyland.
Came here as a last minute reservation. Weren't looking for anything too heavy and this place had two great soup/chili options to eat. My wife had the baked potato soup and she let me try it. I can say probably one of the best I've had seriously. The chili meanwhile was good too. Wasn't too spicy and the little piece of cornbread that came with it was just the right piece. We also ordered a side of fries and those were pretty good too nothing too fancy. Overall great place! Our waitress was extremely friendly and tentative.
Delicious breakfast in a charming atmosphere. Definitely need a reservation for this place. The waffles were your classic waffles but in the shape of Mickey. The frittatas though were much better than I was expecting. Coffee is bottomless here. The service was friendly and really attentive.
The Carnation Cafe is an excellent sit-down restaurant situated right on Main Street. We had breakfast midmorning one day and lunch the next. Both were excellent meals at fair prices. And because we were celebrating our anniversary, they brought us complimentary ice cream for desert!
Ervin is the sweetest. This place has the sweetest people. Food is great. Loved the veggie burger ❤️ would recommend making a reservation
You definitely need to make a reservation at this restaurant, it’s worth it. The wait time is usually around 30 min to an hour, but they send you a text message when your table’s ready, so you can walk around, check out the stores, or even jump on a ride in the meantime. It’s a great setup. The food is really good, the cheeseburger is amazing, and this is one of those spots where you can enjoy a nice cold beer. We loved grabbing a Blue Moon here. The service is also on point; the servers are super friendly and attentive, just like you’d expect anywhere in Disney. Definitely a great experience.
Yes, yes, Yes. Super choice for dinner. Make the online reservation and you will not be disappointed. We had the chef salad. Perfect size and ingredients. Enjoy
I would highly recommend a reservation for a table here. If your main goal is to get in before breakfast ends to order the Mickey Mouse waffles, then reserve beforehand. My group was seated outdoors and the atmosphere was lovely. Our waitress was quick at ordering our food, so we didn't have to wait long. I got a mocha with the Mickey waffles. The mocha was pretty good and it was cute with all of the whipped cream and chocolate. The waffles were adorable. I opted for the strawberry fruit choice and it looked really cute!
Excellent sandwiches, good service. I enjoyed my Turkey sandwich, she liked the salad and we shared fried pickles spears
This was a really good restaurant. The food if high cuality, the price is not the cheapest. This place is very worth it. I had the meat loaf, my little girl had the Mac and cheese kids meal, I tasted it, wow it was good!! My meat loaf was tasty. I would recommend this place. Will come back. I have been there twice now.
I came here to try their Chef's Veggie Burger and was not disappointed. The bean patty looks deep-fried, not what you'd expect from a regular burger, but still delicious. I ordered it without mayo, and even though it still came with it, I wasn't too upset since the burger is vegan to begin with, and you don't have to worry about modifications if you're vegan (plus, the mayo was pretty good). I also appreciate the option to choose between a fruit bowl or fries as a side. The food arrived quickly, the staff was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was relaxed and pleasant. My only complaint is that I was excited to try their Brownie a la Mode (the only vegan dessert listed online), but it wasn't on the restaurant's menu, and they informed me they didn't have it. Overall, I recommend this place for a quick meal!
Smaller restaurant with a small menu but all of our food was absolutely delicious. Sitting to eat on Main Street, watching the vehicles and horses going up and down the street was so fun and the outdoor lighting is enchanting in the evening. Our waiter was friendly attentive, and helpful and we had a lovely evening here. For Gluten Free allergies, there is a good amount of options. Walt's Chili is gluten free with the cornbread removed (we had them on the side so my husband could try it. He said the corn bread bites weren't especially great). Walt's Chili was absolutely delicious (it's a "stew" style chili). I also ordered the Carnation Cafe burger on a gluten free bun and added cheddar cheese (it's no extra charge for the cheese to be added). The Carnation Cafe burger was the best hamburger I've had in a long time - the house made pickles on the burger were a stand out, and the hamburger had an overall "garden fresh" flavor. The gluten free bun was tough but I really enjoyed the flavor. The Carnation Cafe burger comes with french fries but our waiter let me know that their fries are made in a shared fryer so there is a possibility of cross-contamination, so I went with the side of fruit instead, which was very fresh and satisfying. My husband also ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken (definitely not gluten free) and said it was fantastic. I look forward to dining here again!
Had the opportunity to visit Carnation Cafe in Disneyland it was a surpringly good meal! I’m always nervous when getting food at a theme park, but the original Disney park did not disappoint. We got the Walt’s Chili which is the original recipe, the Braised Short Rib, and Parmesan Toasted Patty Melt. All of the meals were fantastic and flavorful. If you have the opportunity to visit the original Disney park, I highly recommend checking this place out. Plus, our waitress Joe was amazing! @fettuccini_alfano
I’ve been to Disneyland my entire life and just now experienced eating at Carnation Cafe. The pancakes were the best pancakes I have ever eaten. Even the sugar free syrup tasted better. We out did ourselves and ordered 3 entrees and could not finish everything. The service were so genuine and even provided a to-go cup for our coffee. I will eat here every time I visit the park.
If you're looking for a sit down dining experience that won't break the bank at Disneyland, you should consider this place. They have an American themed menu with some disney inspired dishes. We went for breakfast and it was a great way to start our day. We had the breakfast skillet and mickey shaped waffles (why are those waffles so good!?) and it hit the spot. Our server was very attentive and gave us some good recommendations when we arrived and the food came out quickly. Definitely try to book in advance on the app.
This place is perfect for breakfast, perfect proportions, and perfectly priced. Obviously you can outside of Disneyland for much cheaper. But for the Disney experience this is perfect. The staff is always friendly, and the serving time is pretty fast for a Disney sit down restaurant. The food is very tasty, not that many options. But this is a quick waffle, hot cakes breakfast.
I thought it'll be really expensive because it's Disneyland. However, the prices were not bad. I got a cheeseburger and my friend got the vegetarian burger... fried pickles were also so yummy! But hot!! It was delicious and the service was extremely friendly. As it was on Main Street the ambience was wonderful and we got to see some of the fireworksfrom our view. We had to make reservations three hours in advance on a Friday, but it was definitely worth it.
We had a lovely dinner at Carnation Cafe. My husband had an Old Fashioned to drink. We were told it was from a mixed batch and even so, it was still good. We split the baked potato soup as an appetizer, and it was the star of the meal. My husband had the turkey club, and I had the braised short rib. It wasn't the best meal of our trip but was pretty good.
On our anniversary, we opted to eat at the Carnation Cafe in Disneyland. It was a good choice! We arrived early and were told we had to wait until our time. No worries there, as we got in at exactly our reservation time. We were quickly seated and had our water order taken. It was a warm day, so we got a glut of high-quality H2O! We both decided on the Smoked Turkey Club Sandwich, as it was really hot out, and that seemed like the best option. The sandwich came with a choice of fruit or fries, and we both got fruit. Good choice on our part, as the fries would have weighed us down. The sandwiches came out in short order and were presented very nicely for what they were. Taking the first bite, I was impressed. Maybe it was because I was hungry or maybe it was because of the expectation of a good meal, but it was a really solid turkey sandwich! The bread was nicely toasted and the ratio of meat to fixings was great! The fruit added to it, as it was crisp and cold. Overall, if we were to return, we would definitely go to the Carnation Cafe again!
Carnation Café is a fantastic spot to eat at Disneyland! They have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, which we really appreciate. The highlight for us was their brownie topped with vegan vanilla ice cream—it was fire! We especially love enjoying it during Halloween time in the fall. My toddler loved their peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and my brother ordered a vegetarian burger that he said was really good. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is great, and it’s a perfect place to sit down and enjoy a meal. Definitely one of our favorite dining spots at Disneyland!
I love eating here. The food is so good, and the atmoshere is great. They have tables both inside and out. The menu is somewhat limited, but the prices are very reasonable. The food is served quickly, hot and fresh with great quality. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and reservations are highly recommended. The walk up list can be hit or miss depending on your party size, but a party of 2 can usually get in when it's not too busy. I had the Baked Potato Soup and the Braised Short Rib, both where excellent. When visiting Disneyland, try to make time to eat at this great little place. You'll be glad you did.
Love that you can get Mickey waffles here. Waffle was very crunchy and comes with butter and real maple syrup. Comes with bacon - I believe they cook it in the oven which I love. We also tried the cheese omelet with chili- it as also delicious. Cool too that they gave me a to go cup for my Diet Coke which was much appreciated. Great food and experience. Highly recommend reservations to ensure you can get a table.
Me encanta desayunar aqui.
Great spot to take a break right on Main Street! The food was tasty and satisfying—classic comfort fare that hits the spot after a few hours of rides and walking. One of the few places in the park where I can get my IPA fix, which is a huge plus. Outdoor seating is a highlight. You're right next to the parade route, so you can relax with a drink and enjoy the show without fighting for a curb spot. The atmosphere is charming, service was smooth, and it felt like a perfect blend of Disney magic and laid-back dining. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for good food, a cold beer, and a front-row seat to the parade.
If you want to grab some delicious bites at a restaurant in Disneyland, I would recommend Carnation Cafe! While some restaurants book out completely far in advance, this is one that is a bit easier to get into and will often times have last minute reservations available. Although they do take walk-up availability, I would always just suggest checking the Disneyland app in advance to book a time so you can guarantee a table at the time you're wanting. I will say that we were sat outside pretty far in the back and it seems that they only had maybe a small handful of servers working out there. This made service a bit slow, but we weren't in a rush so it wasn't really an issue for us. As far as food goes, you can expect a more standard American menu and the prices are not as expensive for being one of their casual dining restaurants. As of a couple years ago, Carnation Cafe also joined the small number of Disneyland Park restaurants that offer alcoholic beverages, so that is an option to order as well if you plan to dine-in here. We enjoyed the following: Fried Pickles: I can't rave about these enough. I love a fried pickle and these were so crunchy and delicious. The breading on these was fried to perfection and the house sauce it came with was very flavorful and bright. Spicy Chicken Sandwich: (not pictured) At the time we visited here, they had a spicy chicken sandwich on the menu that my husband split and devoured before we could even get a picture. It came on a brioche bun with a spicy chile sauce and pepper jack cheese. Absolutely delicious. Spiked Pickle Lemonade: I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS DRINK ENOUGH. I believe they were offering this as a seasonal special when we visited last, but if they offer it on the menu when you're there next and you enjoy pickles, RUN and grab this drink! It was both sweet and salty, and made for the most refreshing cocktail on a hot day. If you don't have a super packed day trying to ride all the rides and have time to sit for a meal, Carnation Cafe is a great option!
I've dined at Carnation Cafe several times over the years and usually have a pleasant experience. It's also an excellent spot to relax for a meal. Sitting on the outdoor patio, you may get a glimpse of the parades. Most items are delicious, depending on what you're in the mood for. My recent favorites are the fried pickles, Walt's chili, Chicken Fried Chicken, Cheeseburger, and Turkey Club Sandwich. PROS: - American menu with seasonal options, daily specials, and treats - Casual, relaxing dining with table service - Friendly, attentive staff - Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and in-between - The patio has a nice view of the Main St activity - Magic Key & DVC discounts CONS: - food inconsistencies: on rare occasions, the hot entrees didn't come hot, and sodas were flat, - slow to receive orders if the restaurant is busy - not suitable for time-crunchers Reservations (through the Disneyland app) are highly recommended. I would come back again since most of my experiences have been excellent and delicious. I give Carnation Cafe four well-deserved stars.
We had lunch here during our visit. Our reservation was for 11:30 but we didn't get seated until after 12. The service was good and the food came out quickly. We enjoyed the fried pickles, but the lunch meals were just ok. My $23 Burger wasn't anything special and I had to add ketchup to enjoy it. My wife's chicken fried chicken had gravy that tasted like ham. She thought it was ok but I didn't like it at all. My orange cream soda was beautiful but looked better than it tasted. Just an ok meal.
We ordered pumpkin ale, beef stroganoff & some boneless chicken. They make beef stroganoff with BACOn and it wasn’t showing on the menu, even our server didn’t know until I asked him and he had to go to the kitchen to check. Yes it Has bacon, why to ruin a dish!? Disagree here. Chicken was great. Our server Max was amazing, so attentive and extremely nice and professional gentleman, he was 10 out of 10. Our reservation took little less then 30min.
Came here with my wife on a Thursday night Feb 17. We made reservations in December. We arrived per notification from app and were seated near the back outside area quickly. The menu was limited, this is standard for Disney restaurants. The waiter was a little deadpan and unenthusiastic, but was speedy. I realized quickly that area we were seated was the path for everyone in the restaurant to go to the bathroom (through a loud slamming door) I ordered chicken fried chicken and my wife ordered the short ribs. The means almost comes a la carte with the main entree, a plop of mashed potatoes, and 3 larger sprigs of broccolini. Both the chicken and ribs were tasty, the plops and broccolini were just average. We ordered a the Dark Chocolate Birthday when we made the reservation. And, wow. I paid $45 for it and it was worth every penny, even if it was just two of us. With 4 it would have disappeared from the plate. It was chocolate mousse with cake layers and white chocolate pieces. Truly addictive. You always pay a little more at Disneyland and we did here. The ambiance, good food quality, and insane special cake made this a good choice for a nicer meal in Disneyland.
Carnation Café at Disneyland is a charming spot that combines classic American comfort food with a nostalgic Main Street vibe. 🍔🥧☕ The outdoor seating on Main Street, U.S.A. allows you to enjoy your meal while people-watching and soaking in the Disney magic. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with vintage decor and friendly cast members adding to the charm. The menu features classic favorites like the Walt’s Chili (a Disneyland staple!), fried pickles, and Mickey-shaped waffles. The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions and beautifully plated dishes. The malts and milkshakes are also worth trying — creamy, rich, and perfectly sweet! The service is outstanding — the staff is attentive and always willing to accommodate special requests. Reservations are recommended since it’s a popular spot, but the wait is usually reasonable if you’re willing to be patient. If you’re looking for a sit-down meal with a cozy, old-school Disney feel, Carnation Café is a must-visit. It’s a perfect place to relax and recharge while enjoying some Disney history! 🍽️🌹✨
Carnation Cafe on Main Street USA is a sit-down hybrid indoor outdoor restaurant serving traditional American fare. I would say the food is mixed and it's overall quality. The breakfast sandwich that I had was good but the potatoes on the side were mediocre. My wife's pancakes were very good but the compote was not good at all. The cast members do a fantastic job and are very nice but sometimes when they're busy there may not be enough people on the floor to give the best experience. Prices like most Disney restaurants are a little high. You also cannot order anything à la carte such as scrambled or over medium eggs.
Delicious lunch with turn of the century vibe located in the middle of Main St USA in Disneyland. They also serve character breakfasts here. Definitely recommend a reservation if you plan on dining here. Enjoyed Walt's chili-homemade and very hearty along with their chicken fried chicken. Chicken was tender and covered in white sauce. Mashed potatoes were good too. Indoor and outdoor seating available where you can watch the people go by on Main St. Only place I saw where you can get Walt's famous chili.
The Carnation Cafe is a must try. The hostess Leonor was rude and we almost decided not to eat here because of her bit we stayed. We meet some really nice people who sat next to us and we chatted during lunch. The loaded potato soup, fried pickles, patty melt, and wedge salad. The cherry coke and ice tea were really fresh and tasty. We had the sweetest waitress and wonderful service. She was so tickled her tables made friends. Ten out of ten would totally recommend.
We booked the last table before the Christmas parade, which was great! Because there are too many tourists, the environmental sanitation is general, and there are appetite residues on the chairs and under the dining table ..... But the waiters are very enthusiastic, ordering and serving food quickly and at reasonable prices, but the amount of food is still a little small, but its geographical location is superior and very convenient. It's still worth recommending.
It is so difficult to get a last minute reservation here but I got lucky on the app the day before. That being said, this was my first experience here and I’m honestly not exactly sure why it’s so coveted. Granted, yes, you can get lots of Mickey shaped breakfast food but there are so few choices on the menu. I had read there used to be eggs Benedict and I’m disappointed there isn’t anymore. The food was decent and very filling. The ambience inside screams old. It’s probably just lack of space that makes reservations so hard. Anyway, this review is only for breakfast. Like I said, it was decent and filling—the pancakes were better than the Mickey waffle and the skillet scramble was hearty. Just wish there were more options and that they’d update the interior a little. Would I go again? Sure but I’m not holding my breath.
We had a reservation here for lunch. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and my husband ordered the braised short rib. We both preferred the braised short rib, but the fried chicken was still good. We still cleared both plates. When comparing the fried chicken between this place and Plaza inn, the Plaza inn is better. But we still enjoyed our lunch here, we sat outside but it was a shady spot with a nice breeze. We would eat here again.
First time coming to eat here. I came in for breakfast and it was a 30 minute wait time . I order the Mickey shape waffle (crispy n crunchy ❤️) It was good and spicy sausage was awesome. The only I can complain about is why they gave me such a dull knife to cut my waffle.( butter knife) . I was better off eating with my hands. I wish they served their breakfast with eggs. Why do I have to pay an extra $3 for a single serving of eggs . Oh and $5 for watered down orange juice 😃
Decent spot for food. Burger was good. Burger meat was moist, cheese on the bread was baked in and was a bit much. Steak was really soft but good. Nothing too special for the wait. Draft pour of blue moon was expensive as it Staff was amicable but seating was very tight. My seat was off kilter due to it being placed on an shade umbrella base and I had no where to move the table or chairs.
Have eaten here a few times. The food is good. Usually eat lunch and jave the fried bolognese, but this last visit came for breakfast and was really surprised how good it actually was. Definitely would recommend this place. Cast members were very friendly and my coffee cup never got empty, lol.
We made reservations months in advance and that worked out well. We celebrated a birthday with the Mickey celebration cake. Everyone seemed to enjoy the dinner and a break from the crowds. I had the cheese burger and it was okay but not spectacular. Steak fries were good. The cake was nice and looked cool.
Decently priced-good breakfast spot when you arrive at Disneyland. Great with working with Gluten & Diary allergies. Very simple menu with good pancakes and waffles. Again, with anything Disney- make a reservation here so you can get in without having to wait a long time or not get in at all. I really liked the country hash browns! Service was really good for being as busy as they were.
*would give a 3.5 if i could FOOD beef stroganoff was good but needed some more flavor. burger was also lacking flavor. veggie burger was not that good. also the bacon cannot be taken out of the potato soup. SERVICE about a thirty minute wait. estimated wait time was 45 mins. 10 minute window to check in after they text you. we were not hiven utensils or napkins upon seating and had to ask for them. waiter was nice though. ENVIRONMENT atmosphere is good. decor is good. has inside seating and outside seating
My husband wanted to try the Hearty Veggie Burger (he has celiacs and is vegan) it's his first time at carnation cafe. His reaction to the burger was, he would get it again...if there was nothing else. He wouldn't seek it out. I tried Walt's chili for the first time. It was good. Not a thick chili but good. I would not get it again. I'm going to honest here. This is not a place to get a cocktail. We both ordered an old fashioned and it was just BAD. Sent them back. We were told it comes from a mix. Definitely not for us. Overall, carnation cafe for us is not a place we would return to. A beautiful piece of Disney history, that's where it ends for us.
The appetizers are the stars of the show here with both the chilli and potato soup hitting the right spots on a cool night. The mains are your typical burgers served in different ways, but if there is still portions available, definitely go for the beef stroganoff. Service, like the rest of Disneyland restaurants is impeccable with prompt and courteous service throughout the meal. So what’s the real reason for coming? It’s to see Main Street transform into a beautiful sea of lights at dusk. Well worth it.
Made reservations 60 days in advance. Was only able to secure dinner for 4:10 which is a bit early. I need to eat dairy free so ordered the veggie burger which I've had before and remember it being delicious. They've made some changes to it. It's not that great. The slaw is weird. It was better when it had the normal burger fixings. Fries were good! My daughter had the club sandwich. The lemon aioli made it weird but otherwise it was decent. Our food came out slower than those that ordered after us. We did have excellent service but probably won't return in the future. Food just isn't that good anymore and pricey for not enjoying it.
It’s basically a losing proposition to serve a memorable meal in Disneyland, given the masses and the logistics but the good people at the Carnation Cafe do their level best. Mercifully we had reservations, otherwise you’re condemned to a lengthy wait. Our servers were delightful and engaging in spite of the chaos around them. Our food runner was earnest in his delivery. I got the Carnation cheeseburger and fries and it was fine. Meat was cooked well. Fries were crispy enough. It was served with a hunk of iceberg lettuce on the bun that I truly believe was the letter equivalent of the berg that sank the Titanic. This meant the bun was a soggy mess in no time. The Coke Zero refills were free and abundant which was nice. So it’s a decent place to beat the crowds and heat at Disneyland.
Fun casual diner to sit down and get some comfort foods. It's worth a try if you can get a quick reservation but it's nothing I would personally go out of my way for. Chicken Fried Chicken: Skip Mixed bag... it was a little disappointing for $21. The green beans were heavily overcooked but meh they're veggies I guess. The chicken was juicy and the gravy was very comforting on top. The mash was nothing special and I wish it was more creamy. The portions do seem small but it'll probably fill you up. The whole dish itself did seem lack luster and pretty close to cafeteria food though. Patty Melt: Get This was a lot more worth it. At $17, you get fries and a huge sammich. Heavily parmesaned bread with a big cheesy patty. A lot more enjoyable and worth it than the chicken and could even have two people just split this if you're not two hungry bears. Fried Pickles: Get These very tasty with the crispy batter dipped in that heavenly sauce. Food: 5/10 Vibes: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Value: 4/10
They are located close to the entrance of Disneyland Park. There was online reservations on Disneyland app but it didn’t work for us three weeks ahead. We went there early morning and add our name into the walk-in list. We got our table in 30 minutes. I believe due to the crowd, that was great !! Honestly, the pancakes 🥞 was not good but we got there for the kids. The waffle 🧇 was better. The goal was the kids enjoy their time. They enjoyed the vibe and they were happy with all servers with cute clothes and happy faces. So mission accomplished. 😊🥰
A hard place to get a reservation so it must be good. Wrong! I ordered the vegan burger, only because wanted to cut back on meat, we had a large steak last night. My wife hade the wedge salad. We also started with fried pickles and bowl of chilli. The food was eh!! Definitely won’t be frequenting. Sorry Disney you missed the mark in this one. Our server was amazing.
si bien el lugar ofrece un menú pequeño , la comida es buena, pero debo confesar que pensaría dos veces antes de regresar, disneyland se caracteriza por tener comida deliciosa y sin duda encontraras mejores opciones en otro restaurante del parque
To put it bluntly, this is not a restaurant worth the wait for. It has a nice-cute aesthetic. Though the food was nice to look at, the taste and textures were a big no. Not only do the flavors not stand out, but neither do the prices or service at this location. We all sent our dishes back due to them being undercooked or cold. Second time around the food came back warm and cooked better. Not much to say about carnation cafe.
Our table was in the ice cream parlor so atmosphere was horrible. Burgers were over cooked. Order was delivered wrong. Table service is dead at Disney, it sems.
The service was slow, the food was either mid or inedible, and the server was rude. Also, the kids’ meals are just ridiculously small. What kid only eats one small chicken strip? It feels like a ploy to get them to have to order a full adult meal. I see no reason to come back here.
This experience really rubbed me the wrong way. When you make the reservation, you are alerted that you have a 10 minute window before you are charged per person for a no-show. So, we show up 3 mins early for ours that I had made 2 hours ahead of time. They take my phone number and will text us when ready. Cool, no problem. We do a little shopping, get a text 10 minutes later, and check in again. They say "great, ok, stay here and we will call your name shortly" 20+ minutes later, they call us (we were a 2-top, mind you) and during this waiting period, we were told we couldnt leave or our reservation would be voided......generally, when a restaurant texts you that your table is ready, its, ya know, ready? Food was meh. Staff was fine. Definitely not what I expected for a "high demand" restaurant in Disneyland, but I guess some of that demand is simply that its one of like three places to get a drink in an otherwise dry amusement park.
The chicken driver was terrible it was cold and not fully cooked. It was thawed. The green beans were delicious. Needed more mashed potatoes. 2 stars server was nice and polite
I have eaten at Carnation Cafe for decades, back to the time it was the Carnation Ice Cream Parlor. It has been a stay in my visits (photos are 2018). Primarily, I have eaten there for breakfast although it is great for all meals. The Mickey Mouse waffle of course is terrific, but normally I order the eggs Benedict with fresh fruit. Unfortunately, the Cafe is no longer accessible since reservations are impossible to obtain since reopening in 2021. Standbye is the same. Also, they have commercialized the menu so it no longer has anything unique, removing the eggs Benedict and lowering portions for the other dishes while raising prices. It makes me sad to see this happen. A renaissance is needed under different management. Thank goodness Plaza Inn is still nice, at least for now. Not recommended.
Ordered veggie burger, wedge salad and fried pickles. The pickles were quite oily. The veggie burger was quite tasteless, very underwhelming patty and the Brussels sprouts on them seemed quite hard and raw. The fries were however good. The wedge salad was dripping in the dressing nothing like some of the better ones we have had.
The food was OK. The patty melt was good as were the fried pickles. The turkey sandwich was absolutely terrible. Not sure how you can screw up a sandwich but it was flavorless. The service was awful. The restaurant was 1/4 full and it took 10 minutes to get our water and long intervals to get our waitress to come by. Would not go again.
We’ve been fans of Carnation Cafe for years at this point, mostly for the food. The front desk has always been disorganized and they have never sat us on time. You have to wait at least 10 minute past your reservation time to be seated. We’ve overlooked that as the food and service have been solid. Unfortunately, our server today was not friendly. We sat out our table for 10 minutes before he even came by to take our order. Additionally, our food came out cold. There were runners running food out to tables but perhaps the runner just can’t keep up. We didn’t complain as we were really hungry. This place needs an overhaul desperately. It has such great potential.
I had a very poor experience. The masala dosa I ordered tasted terrible and was not up to even basic standards. A simple roadside dosa would have been much better.
***There’s a reason that this place, and River Belle Terrace, are open for reservations everyday. They aren’t good! Showed up 10 min early for lunch reservation but didn’t get seated until 10 min after actual time! 20 minutes wasted. What’s the point of even making a Rez? We were a party of 5 and saw tables available but the staff is very lazy/ unorganized. No one cleans or wipes down tables between guests! It was gross inside with food all over the floor, obviously no one vacuums under their tables, so asked to sit outside. The table was so nasty I had to wipe it down myself with baby wipes. If you don’t like to see leftovers from previous diners on your cups, silverware, plates, tables - avoid Carnation Cafe and River Belle Terrace. They are one in the same - not clean! Food is also unimpressive. Fried pickles were decent, but all around sad place to eat. You’re better off with any of the fast food kiosk options.
Read this: it’s so SAD Carnation isn’t what it used to be!!!! We have been eating at Carnation for years, back when Oscar would come out in the morning ask if your breakfast was good. The last 3x we ate at Carnation it has been terrible. The last time was 2 weeks ago for dinner. We had reservations, we were seated quickly. Waiter came took our order pretty quick. Then a waitress came and told us that she was taking his place that he was going on a break. The waitress came over and asked us four times if we would like more water and we were like no we’re good. It had been 30 minutes and we have not received our food order, finally we asked where our food would be out. Since everyone who sat down after us had received their orders. She checked and it had been sitting, waiting for someone to give us our order. Okay that’s great so why didn’t she bring us our food, instead of telling us where our food is at. Two in our group order the turkey club, the bread was so dry (probably because it sat for long). One club was stacked with meat the other club had two slices, not consistent in what goes into each meal. The other two orders were hot meals which were barely warm. It’s so sad that something that was our families go to has gone down hill.
Absolutely trash food. The cheeseburger was nothing but grease. Both my wife and I barely ate any of it. $40 for two burgers, that neither of us ate. The fries are barely edible too. I'd been better off burning my money. I would highly advise not eating at this place. Disgusting, Disney should be ashamed to even have this place on it's property. With food this horrible you can bet the kitchen probably has some health violations.
Had a 6:40 reservation and was texted 35 minutes later saying my table was finally ready. Then I waiting another 15 minutes to be seated. Have to say that is the longest I have waiting for having a reservation. Hostess was not the friendliest. Waitress was very sweet and improved our experience.
We kind like this place at first the food is good the service is ok. But you better bring your “WINTER COAT “, it’s extremely cold and very uncomfortable to eat there its pretty bad when your gets cold before you get a chance to eat it. The worst part is when you ask if they can turn down the air conditioning they come up with they can’t because it’s controlled in Disneyland Florida. ( REALLY)!
the place is great with really nice staff but as a vegan person it’s almost impossible to find vegan food in the park. Carnation cafe is one of the only spots where you can find vegan waffles and they’re definitely the worst meal i’ve ever had in my life. My waffles and potatoes were stale and old like if it was cooked days ago :( I guess they look pretty for a picture at least
We had a reservation for 6:30pm, so after we were able to check in on the app, we had to wait over 45 min past our reservation time for a table. Once they finally decided to seat us, we sat down and started looking at our menu. Then a rude lady came rushing over and told us we had to move because we had a stroller blocking the way. Why would they sit us here to begin with if a stroller was an issue?!? They saw the stroller when we were waiting forever for our table AND I told the hosts that we had a baby and stroller with us. The rude lady told us they had another table ready to go, so they took us outside and sat us at a table right next to the bathroom entrance..no wonder this table was available….no one wants to sit and smell poop during their meal. Lots of wasted time and we will not be coming back here to eat.
Towards the end of our meal, one of the servers spilled a whole tray of ice-cold drinks (Coke, Sprite, water, etc.) on me. Not only was I drenched in cold beverages at night, my belongings got wet, and I had a previous laceration on my finger which I had been careful not to get wet due to doctor's orders that was drenched from this incident. We asked for medical tape (that had gotten wet from being in my pocket), someone said they'd get a first aid kit, but we were just given gauze. After this happened, no servers came up to bring a towel, the server himself didn't come to apologize (only a "sorry bud" in passing 5 minutes later), and it took at least 15 minutes until we asked to see a manager to resolve the situation. I understand that accidents happen, but this was handled very poorly - it shouldn't take 15+ minutes for one of the staff to properly address the situation. After this conversation, our meal was partially compensated (to which we then had to speak up for again ), and a voucher to get a sweatshirt from the store, but it took 5 employees since the voucher seemed to only cover for one item. This whole time, I was shivering from the cold and was asked the story multiple times until it was finally resolved. This added to our frustration, as the issue should have been clearly communicated and handled seamlessly across locations. We were extremely disappointed with the way the incident was handled. In conclusion, I am extremely disappointed, upset, and embarrassed by the entire situation, The issue should have been clearly communicated and handled seamlessly across locations, I should have had a manager come to me within minutes, and I should not have been drenched while enjoying my dinner. I have not heard a response from Disneyland, and I hope this manager from Carnation Cafe/Main Street USA on 1/18/26 does not let this slide under the radar. Shoutout to Jonathan from Fortuosity Shop for being kind, Ben from Carnation Cafe for being attentive and great, and the young girl with glasses from Carnation Cafe who helped me with the paper napkins and our bill. You made this experience bearable.
Truthfully the worst restaurant experience I’ve had anywhere in years. First, what’s the point of a reservation if after checking in there is a 20 minute wait and you can’t leave the immediate area. Second, the service was about the worst I’ve ever experienced. We sat down and ordered as quickly as we could and got our drinks. Thirty minutes later we got the attention of a staff member and finally got some refills. Twenty minutes later three tables around us had been served their meals after sitting down and ordering after us. Our server finally came by and said the chicken was taking a long time. The only problem was two of the other tables were eating the same dish. After confronting the server for lying he decided to take off the cost of that entree. We asked for a second refill of drinks and I then decided that taking my daughter shopping in emporium would be a better use of waiting. Ten more minutes later we got our food. Followed up by not seeming our server again and having to try to get the attention of another server to get refills and to ask for the check. I’m all for peaceful dining experiences, but semi-attentive service and truthful interactions would have made a huge difference.
